7 Best Websites for Last-Minute Airfare Deals

    Best price on airfare

Pricey flights are the bane of every traveler’s existence. But once you become a frequent traveler, you pick up a few flight booking tips that’ll save you tons of cash.

But if you have the type of schedule that just won’t allow you to plan ahead a few months, you might be in for sticker shock. In that case, it’s smart to find the best sites for last-minute airfare. If you’re flexible on where you travel, you can scoop up some amazing deals all over the globe. And even if you’re not flexible, you may be able to whittle down the last-minute price tag tremendously. (See also: 20 Secrets of Last-Minute Travel)

    1. Hopper

Hopper is a mobile app that lets you search for flights, compare travel deals, and figure out the best time to fly. Search for your preferred flight dates using colored blocks. From there, you’ll get predictions on the exact dates your flights might be cheapest.

You’ll receive a notification to wait for a better fare if the app believes prices will drop, along with ongoing notifications when your fare hits the bottom. Or you’ll get a notification to buy because your airfare is the lowest it will go.

While Hopper can work great for fares in the future, it can also help you decide when to pull the trigger on a last-minute trip. At the very least, it can show you the cheapest day to fly within your preferred range of dates.

    2. Airfare Watchdog

Airfarewatchdog lets you save on last-minute travel in more ways than one. First, the website lists last-minute travel deals from your home airport or any airport of your choosing. If you’re flexible on where you travel, this tool makes it easy to see the best deals from your airport within the upcoming month.

Second, you can set up alerts to notify you when a last-minute airfare deal you’ve been looking for finally appears. Lastly, Airfare Watchdog offers tips on amazing airfare deals via social media daily. By following them on Facebook or Twitter, you can get the inside scoop on airfare deals all over the world.

    3. Secret Flying

Secret Flying is a resource that’s perfect for the last-minute traveler who has some flexibility in where they go. The site, which uses software to find unbelievable airfare deals across the globe, unleashes an array of last-minute flight deals nearly every day.

On any given morning, you could wake up to find you can fly round-trip to Paris next week for less than $400, or to Bali for a flat $350 in coach. The catch? Secret Flying deals usually last no longer than a few days, and you typically need to travel within a few weeks of booking.

    4. The Flight Deal

The Flight Deal is another site that rolls out unbelievable daily deals on airfare. On some mornings, you may find you can score a round-trip flight to New Zealand for $500. Another day, you might discover a crazy, cheap bucket-list trip to Maui or South Africa or Belize.

Of course, most of these crazy fares come with a catch, in that you generally need to book within 24 hours and travel within weeks. But they can be a huge boon to those who are flexible with destinations and dates.

The Flight Deal shares discounts on domestic trips, too. So if you’re only looking for a last-minute trip to Florida or Colorado, you’ll uncover deals on those destinations, too. You may just have to wait a while.

    5. Expedia

Expedia offers a several ways to spend less on airfare, including a last-minute travel deals page that shows cheap fares from your home airport. Destinations vary depending on the date and your departure hub, but they typically include cheap, last-minute flight deals to some domestic big city hubs along with top vacation spots like Hawaii and Cancun.

Expedia also offers a selection of flight and hotel packages that let you save on both. For example, as I’m writing this, they’re offering package deals to destinations like Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Las Vegas, Miami, and Los Angeles, starting at just $599 per person.

    6. Last Minute Travel

Last Minute Travel offers exactly what the name promises timely airfare deals on trips departing within the next few weeks. The downside here is that you need to join the site and purchase a membership to get the best deals. The upside is that they promise last-minute airfare deals worth up to 60 percent off.

Membership costs just $50 per year, and that gets you members-only rates on airfare, exclusive hotel deals, 24/7 assistance from travel experts, and a members-only rewards plan. If you don’t save at least the cost of the membership ($50), Last-Minute Travel will refund the cost in the form of a travel voucher.

If you don’t want to join, the site still offers competitive pricing on all of your travel needs, but especially on last-minute airfare and hotel deals.

    7. Orbitz

Orbitz is a travel aggregator that makes it easy to shop for last-minute flight deals and compare prices across airlines. Like Expedia, Orbitz also offers a page with daily and weekly travel deals. These discounts can apply to airfare, hotel bookings, and travel packages.

Occasionally, special deals with specific airlines are available. For example, you may find discounts on last-minute travel with American Airlines or Delta Air Lines one week and Air France the next. Generally speaking, any included deals on special airfare only apply to last-minute fares taking place within the next 30 days. But if you’re flexible, you can find round-trip airfare for less than $200 to select destinations within the U.S.

Top 8 Best Flight Price Predictor Tools and Apps, best price

Top 8 Best Flight Price Predictor Tools and Apps

If you’re a traveler as I am, you sure know how important it is to know the fair value of your trip, and be able to save money while flying. But it takes a long time to check so many different websites for deals, and then go back to Google and check your favorite airline’s website once again. This is why flight price predictor tools have been created in order to help us make traveling easier, and cheaper.

Some of these tools and applications are meant to showcase the deals that suit your interest, some others are trying to compare prices and show what the cheapest airfares are. While a few years ago it was difficult to find any type of software that could help, now it’s hard to choose which one’s the best. In this piece we re going to tell you a bit more about eight of the most relevant airplane deal comparison apps, so you can choose the flight that suit you.

Best Flight Predictor Tools and Apps

    Best price on airfare

    Skyscanner

My favorite flight price predictor tool is and will probably continue to be Skyscanner, because it’s very good at showing you what airfares are going to look like in the next year. Most of the tools we know tend to only show details regarding the next month or first few months, but only few of them go as far as a year.

    Best price on airfare

In addition to that, it is also able to help you decide where you’d like to go. If you still don’t know where you’d like to spend your next holiday, you can simply enter the area or country you’re looking for, and the cheapest flights will be shown. For example, when I was looking for options in the United States, I simply had to add the location I was departing from, and a wide variety of low fares would be shown to me. I could either go to California, Florida, or many other locations.

On the bright side, this tool can help you cut costs by researching indirect routes, either than only direct flights. On the bad side, though, the “flexible” feature that used to be included is not available anymore. This one was helping you by suggestion near-by locations – if you wanted to go to Bonn or Koln in Germany, it would also suggest cheaper versions that took you to Dusseldorf or Dortmund.

    Kayak

    Best price on airfare

You’ve probably heard of Kayak before – this one is basically a flight price comparison tool that searches through many websites at the same time, in order to come up with the best deals for you. All you have to do is go on the website, enter the details of your trip, and wait for it to do its job.

If you’re not in a hurry, Kayak is also going to show you the best options during the next couple of months. Look for the tiny map showing the flight price prediction for a particular route. And if you don’t find anything too exciting at the moment, you also have the option of setting an alert. This one will send you an email whenever you want – it can be scheduled to alert you daily, weekly, or only monthly. Whatever option you go for, this will send you the best options for your preferred destination.

    StudentUniverse

Because traveling tends to be even more complicated when you’re a student, the StudentUniverse tool is especially dedicated to them. While some other websites simply try to inform you about the best options, this one tells us it actually negotiates prices for you.

By working directly with the main airlines in the world, this tool is able to provide students with deals to choose from. As they say, “we are able to negotiate special fares because airlines can depend on our patented verification technology to make sure that students are the ones benefiting from these reduced fares.” So, long story short, don’t try to trick them into thinking you’re a student if you’re not!

    STA Travel

    Best price on airfare

Working in a similar way as the tool before, this one is also dedicated to students. It works with many global airlines in order to negotiate and win some of the most exclusive traveling deals. To be able to take advantage of this website, you don’t only have to be a student, but also under the age of 26.

Thanks to STA Travel students can book their next tickets for traveling, for their internships or volunteering trips they have planned at a reduced price. Plus they are also able to change their departure and arrival after purchasing the tickets, as STA is the only one providing flexible dates. Isn t that even better than merely being a flight price predictor?

    Momondo

Momondo is a well-known traveling resource that takes a look at over 700 websites before choosing the best fares and deals. The reason why it works so well is that the company designed robots that search for flights just as a human would.

Although a very good tool to use, it has the disadvantage of being specially designed for Europe. This means it can work great if you’re looking for flights to Amsterdam, Rome, Prague or Budapest. However, it’s not going to help you find great deals for going to the United States, APAC or Africa.

    Priceline

If you are traveling just for fun, Priceline might be the best option you have. Why is that? Because it requires some flexibility in order to find the best deals – once you’re not stuck with specific dates for your trips, it can help you save up to 50%, using the proprietary flight price predictor algorithm.

This tool works by choosing off-peak flights for you and using connections. This way, you’re not flying when everyone else is to a typical summer location. At the same time, you may stop in a few places, have an hour to change the plane, or you might as well have a long time to wait, which allows you to visit that location, too.

On the other hand, this website is only going to provide you with the dates of your flights. This means that you will find out when the plane is leaving and when you should take your flight back after you made the purchase.

    AirfareWatchDog

    Best price on airfare

The AirfareWatchDog tool was initially created to find the best fares. However, it recently turned into an alerts tool that allows you to enter the details of your ideal trip and sends you the best deals at a later time. You only decide where you want to go and what the latest date is then you start receiving alerts.

They are typically emailed to you every day, a few times a week or only once every week. It is very popular because it covers most airlines and is sure to also include smaller carriers. This way, you can go to places in South Africa or even Asia without having to worry about the price.

    FareCompare

    Best price on airfare

Last but not least, one of the most advance airfare price predictor tools available online is Fare Compare. This website compares flights’ prices from over 500 airlines from all over the world and is known to collect information about old and current airfares. This enables them to tell you what the best price is, whether you should wait before you purchase your ticket or not.

Being dedicated to true travelers, it also includes many tips and suggestions, while it comes with a Getaway Map. This one is meant for those of you who haven’t decided where to go yet – it’s an interactive, user-friendly map that shows you where you could go with the budget you have.

    Round the World Flights

    • Cheapest airfare

See the world and take the trip of a lifetime with a Round the World airfare from Flight Centre. For the cheapest Round the World flights, select your departure city from the drop down below. To book your flights or for more information, contact one of our experienced Round The World Experts on 1300 550 416 today.

Why stop at just one destination when the whole world is at your fingertips? We’ve all got a ‘bucket list’ that dream catalogue of places we would love to see firsthand. Whether your list includes trekking to Machu Picchu, shopping on Fifth Avenue, cafe-hopping around Paris or all of the above, your travel goals don’t have to remain a pipedream. Flight Centre’s dedicated Round the World expert team can make those dreams a reality!

What is a Round the World flight?

Round the World flights take you, well, around the world! Instead of trying to piece together individual flights from Point A to Points B, C and D, a Round the World flight is a seamless journey that makes its way around the globe in one direction. In other words, a Round the World fare is a one-way long-haul journey with multiple stopovers.

Why book a Round the World flight?

    • Great value for money
    • Tailored itineraries
    • Thousands of options
    • Everything on one ticket
    • Up to 12 months validity

It’s up to you how long you stop at each point along the way you’ll probably want to allow enough time to really get to know your destination before taking to the skies en route to a new corner of the globe.

The only requirement with a Round the World trip is that you must travel in one direction east or west and return to your point of origin. Some airfares may require you to include a minimum of four continents and at least two stopovers but hey, isn’t that what a Round the World trip is all about?

    Cheapest airfare

Are there different types of Round the World flights?

Individual airlines usually offer Round the World fares based on the routes they travel, as long as you include their central transit hub in the mix (like stopping in Helsinki if you fly with Finnair).

Airline alliances such as oneworld, Star Alliance, and SkyTeam also cater to globetrotters. Their Round the World fares are priced according to how many miles you travel as well as your cabin class, and use a number of different partner airlines across their networks.

Round the World flights can be a great way to rack up those frequent flyer points and move up the tiers of your airline loyalty program. Chat to one of our Airfare Experts and see what Round the World fares your preferred airline offers you might even earn enough points to work in an upgrade to Business Class!

Where can I travel on a Round the World flight?

The short answer is wherever your heart desires! The long answer is wherever your consultant can masterfully map out, factoring in the one-way rule, hitting the main airports, and stopping in at central transit hubs.

While some Round the World fares allow you to have up to 15 stops on your journey, you could do as few as three, four of five. Some examples might be:

3 stops: Sydney Singapore London Los Angeles Sydney

4 stops: Sydney Singapore London New York Los Angeles Sydney

5 stops: Sydney Singapore London Zurich New York Los Angeles Sydney

    Cheapest airfare

Why book with our Round the World experts?

    • Specialised RTW team
    • Widest range of options
    • All visas taken care of
    • Lowest Airfare Guarantee

Round the World holidays are incredibly rewarding, once-in-a-lifetime adventures, but they are far from being a walk in the park when it comes time to book. Knowing where airlines fly, how often they go there, and how to avoid tight connection times is something that comes from industry experience.

Our dedicated Round the World experts live and breathe multi-stop flights every day and know how to make your journey hassle-free. Let them take care of the fine details including what visas you will need and making sure you get your favourite window seat, so you can focus on ticking off that travel bucket list.

Here is a small sample of our available fares. Call and tailor your around the world flight with us today.

7 Best Websites for Last-Minute Airfare Deals

    Best price airfare

7 Best Websites for Last-Minute Airfare Deals

    Best deals on airfare

    International Air Tickets

    Select Your Flight Destination

For USA Flights (Domestic) >> Airline Tickets

Take advantage of our excellent negotiated low airfares.

For many travelers, the airline ticket is the biggest cost of their trip, especially for those going on long international trips, so it makes sense for many of us to find a reasonable price from the Travel Agency.

Find, book and pay for cheap flights worldwide. Flight reservations in first, business, club and economy class are all possible with international airline reservation system. All air ticket rates are subject to availability and not guaranteed until confirmed.

    Major Airlines:

Malaysia Airline, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Eva, Malaysia Airline, Singapore Airlines, Continental Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Air Canada, Air India, Ethiopian Air, Lufthansa, Kenya Airways, China Airlines, Thai Airways, United Airlines, Air France, Alitalia, Czech Airlines, Korean Air, Northeast, Delta and Korean Air.

It’s wise to make sure you know the total price of your airfare, including taxes and fees, and then checking airline or Travel Agency for the same flight to make sure you have a lower price.

Airlines sell discounted Air Tickets to consolidators, who in turn sell them to travel agencies or directly to passengers below prices advertised by the airlines themselves.

    Cheap Airfare Tips

    • Traveling on weekdays traditionally costs less if your travel plans are flexible.
    • Buy your air ticket as far in advance as possible. Air Fares are often lower when purchased 15, 30 or 45 days in advance.
    • Try the prices on at least 2-3 airlines. Sometimes the price differences are enormous. Remember to discount the difference for a potential loss of frequent flyer mileage points. At times you may not get full mileage points with certain discount airline fares.
    • Book travel during holidays, or other peak periods, as early as possible to get the best promotions and deals.
    • Try a connection or one stop or 2 stop flight. They are sometimes cheaper than the nonstop direct flights.

    MAKING THE UPGRADE

Upgrades usually come at a stiff price but Optiontown sells unsold business class seats aboard Air Asia and several other international carriers at a huge discount. Individual bookings are more likely to succeed than a group or family, and you might have to wait until you’re in the queue at the check-in desk to receive confirmation. See optiontown.com

    FLY ON THE QUIET

Blue Zone seating aboard Air Asia.

Demand for seats fluctuates, and you can use this cycle to buy yourself a cheaper seat. Between cities with healthy business traffic, midweek flights in the middle of the day are usually the cheapest. Use a flight search engine such as Momondo that gives you day-by-day prices, or Kayak, which sends you an alert if the price changes. See momondo.com.au ; kayak.com.au

    BOOK YOURSELF A BARGAIN

Most airlines release seats and open their bookings 11 months before flight time and the cheapest “earlybird” seats are the first to go. Book well in advance and you’ll save, airlines have become experts at filling their planes. The days when you could count on a late-breaking, red-hot deal are well and truly over. If the Aussie dollar continues its downward trajectory, an early booking may give you more reasons to cheer.

Air Asia Sydney to Kuala Lumpur.

    STRETCH OUT FOR LESS

Singapore Airlines’ economy class preferred seats come with many centimetres of extra leg-stretch room and they’re some of the cheapest exit row seats around. The airline charges $US40 ($55) for a preferred seat on a Singapore-Australia flight, $US60 will get you the same from Singapore all the way to Europe. Book online. See singaporeair.com

Singapore’s Changi Airport is not only a place to shop or eat between flights, but also a comfortable place to catch 40 winks.

Flying long haul? It can be cheaper to book sector-by-sector rather than a single ticket that takes you all the way through, for example one ticket from Melbourne to Hong Kong and another from Hong Kong to your final destination. Remember though, you might have to pass through customs and immigration, collect your bags from one flight and check in on another. If so, leave plenty of time between connecting flights.

    KNOW YOUR LIMITS

Budget airlines make much of their revenue from travellers who show up at the check-in desk with baggage and carry-ons in excess of the allowance. They rigidly enforce their limits and if you pay for any extra baggage allowance you may need when you make your booking you’ll save. Wait until you get to the airport and if you’re over, the penalties might end up costing more than your air ticket.

Denver airport, pitched like a row of teepees against the Rocky Mountains.

    THE RUB ON HUBS

Competition between airlines is fierce at busy airport hubs, and that keeps prices lower than at smaller airports that are served by just a few airlines. In Europe and the US especially, if you bus or train to the nearest major airport rather than flying out of a regional airport you should be able to travel at a much cheaper price.

    THE LOWDOWN ON LOW FARES

Although it lacks the bells and whistles of some airfare search engines, ITA Matrix Airfare Search is the go-to fare search engine for many travel professionals. Type in your route, the extreme ends of the dates for your outward and return flights, check the “see calendar of lowest fares” box and back comes a graphic with the cheapest fares available on every day within your time frame. See matrix.itasoftware.com

    SNOOZE CONTROL

The Guide to Sleeping in Airports website is a must-read for anyone facing a long airport stopover and looking to inject some comfort into the ordeal without busting the budget. Best seats, quiet zones, free internet, tips from other passengers – this is a goldmine for the cost-conscious traveller. Singapore’s Changi Airport consistently ranks in pole position for travellers looking to sack out between flights. See sleepinginairports.net .

    LOCK AND LOAD

Lock in the price of your air ticket with STA Travel’s Airfare Deposit Program. Pay a non-refundable deposit of $300 and you can pay the balance just seven days before flight time. Qantas offers Book Now, Pay Later. Pay a $25 holding deposit and your seat is secured, but the deal does not apply to all seats on all flights, and the final price may change if taxes, fees and Qantas’ charges rise. Four Places to Look for Holiday Deals on Airfare

    Impacting Travel

Airlines are a strange breed when it comes to Black Friday and Cyber Monday holiday deals. They want in on the offers, of course, but they have been stingy in not announcing what their sales are ahead of time.

Maybe that s just part of the allure, but we figured it would be helpful to drop a few tips on you in case you want to give your loved one(s) a trip for the holidays.

Note that of the two days, Cyber Monday is often the better deal for airlines. According to a story in the Miami Herald, Last year Cyber Monday triggered a fourfold increase in worldwide flight bookings, according to research by Sojern, a data-marketing company that expects November bookings to skyrocket again this year.

    1) CHECK THE WEBSITES Airlines love to put their deals up on their own websites, so this is a logical first step. Alaska Airlines website is advertising a deal right now with flights starting at $59. Starting Sunday, Nov. 29, and continuing into Cyber Monday, Fiji Airways is offering up to 40 percent off round-trip flights to Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. Here are the websites for most of the major airlines:

How to Find Cheap Christmas Airfare #find #cheapest #airline #tickets

How to Find Cheap Christmas Airfare

For most people, Christmas is all about family and spending quality time with people you love (and may not get to see much during the rest of the year). It s a pity, then, that getting home for the holidays without spending a fortune can be such a royal pain in the you-know-what.

Finding cheap Christmas airfare is definitely a challenge, as anyone who s started looking can attest to. You plug in your travel dates and get hit with huge ticket prices. You think you can use the old trick of shifting your trip by one or two days in either direction and you still run into the same high prices. It s frustrating. Oh, and don t count on using those precious frequent flyer miles you ve accumulated, either, because the Christmas holidays are typically part of an airline s blackout dates.

But even though you may not find a super bargain-basement price on an airline ticket over Christmas, there are still some things you can do to avoid paying more than you need to for your flight.

In 2012, Christmas is on a Tuesday

    Research book flights early.

If we tell you that September is when you should start looking for Christmas airfare, would you think we were crazy? Well, it doesn t really matter what you think, because the truth is that you might still be relishing the last of your summer tan, but September is when you need to start thinking about holiday travel.

Airlines start dropping their fares for the fall in winter in September, and though more price drops usually follow it s a good idea to be paying attention in September so you have a better frame of reference. This doesn t mean you need to buy your Christmas tickets in September, however, although it s usually best if you ve got your tickets purchased by the end of October.

Aside from the expense, in the current economy when airlines are cutting back on the number of flights they even have available, booking your trip earlier rather than later can help assure you that you ll get the travel dates you want.

To help you keep track of ticket prices, it s a good idea to set up an account at one of the online booking websites that will send you automated email alerts when the price goes up or down by a certain amount. That way, you don t need to be checking those sites constantly, but you won t miss out on a good deal.

Find out which of the airline booking sites let you set up email alerts in this article about how to use travel booking websites .

Check out some of the budget airlines on their own websites.

We all know the big airlines the so-called legacy carriers but there are a few discount airlines which sometimes slip under the radar. This is partly because their names aren t as well-known to us, and so we might just glance over them on a list of airfares, but it s also because we may not even see them on a list at all.

Most of the big airline booking websites don t include fares from even the more common budget airlines usually because the airlines themselves withhold that information from the booking sites, not because the booking sites are trying to be mean. But whatever the reason, it means you ll need to do a little more clicking before you re sure you re getting the best price.

And while you re at it, even if the best fare you ve found is on one of the big legacy carriers, you might want to check that airline s website anyway just in case the airline has reserved its best prices for its website customers instead of the booking engine s customers.

In addition to the airlines you ll find listed on online booking engines, be sure to visit the websites for some of these airlines too (some of them may be listed on some booking engines, but most aren t on any of those lists):

Learn more about the discount carriers you could use with our lists of U.S. budget airlines and Canada budget airlines

Be flexible with your travel dates.

Usually when you re booking a trip and you re told to be flexible with your schedule, you can move your departure or arrival date around by one day maybe two and you ll often find a dramatic price difference. As we noted with Thanksgiving, because so much of the travel around that holiday is concentrated into a few days it s actually not terribly difficult to move your trip around by a little bit and get a better deal.

Unfortunately with Christmas, because the busy and expensive days are more spread out over a longer period of time, it s more challenging to shift your travel schedule by a day or two and get any significant price difference out of that change. Making sure you re avoiding the most expensive travel days is a good start, but unless you ve got loads of time you can be away you ll have a hard time avoiding even the semi-expensive days around the holidays.

So although finding extreme price differences from one day to another isn t going to be as common around Christmas as it might be at other times of the year, it s a very good idea to know what days to stay away from entirely.

    Look around for alternate airports.

While the big hub airports near your departure and arrival point are the ones you probably know best, and while they may usually have the best deals on airfare simply because they have the largest volume of flights, another thing to consider when you re really hunting for Christmastime bargains is that whether there are other airports you could fly in or out of.

Most of the time, a city s smaller airports have a hard time competing with the big airports on price. The big hubs have so many incoming and outgoing flights that there are more apt to be empty seats the airlines want to offload cheaply. But more and more it s the smaller airports in a given market which have become that area s hub for one or more of the discount airlines in the country making flights to that airport sometimes a great deal cheaper than the big airport.

Again, you may find that the big hub is still the one with the cheapest fares most of the time. But not always. And budget travelers at Christmas need all kinds of tools when it comes to finding the best prices, right?

10 Surefire Steps to Cheaper Airfare

How to get the cheapest plane tickets possible in 10 easy steps, from search engines and major airlines to bidding sites, consolidator fares, vacation packages, last-minute deals, and travel bargain newsletters

We’ll get to the whole 10-Step bit in just a minute. First, links to the answers to the two Big Questions.

So, How Do I Find the Cheapest Airfare?

Ah, the heart of the matter. Remember that old travel truism: no two people flying in the cheap seats actually paid the same price for their tickets, even though they’re going to the same place and getting the same service.

Reid’s shortcut to the best fares

All of the airfare hunting techniques mentioned on this site have merit, but, honestly, if I had to narrow it down to three crucial places to check, they would be:

    1) The aggregator Momondo

    2) The consolidator AutoEurope

Nine times out of ten, I end up booking my plane tickets to Europe through one of those methods. The guy in 22B might have ponied up $1,300, while the person in 22C with whom he amiably chats during takeoff paid just $320 (note to person in 22C: don’t break it to him; you’ll ruin his vacation).

This site will help you be that guy in 22C.

The secret to landing the least expensive plane tickets every time is to know where the deals are, search wisely, and never pay retail if you can avoid it.

Here is cheat sheet on how to do this: a brief roundup of all the tips, steps to take, and websites to use to find the cheapest airfare. Click on any one to get much more information and tips on that particular technique.

    1. Know that timing is everything

    Don’t pay retail

With many airlines now charging to check even a single bag, or to pick your own seat, or for the meal, headsets, and even a pillow and blanket, it helps to know the a la carte fees before you fly. These sites take stock of the current fees status:

How to Get the Cheapest Airfare Possible

Use multiple resources to to find the cheapest possible airfare. (Photo: Thinkstock Images/Comstock/Getty Images )

    Related Articles

Spend more of your money on enjoying your vacation and less on getting to the destination by finding the cheapest airfare possible when you travel. Using fare aggregators like Orbitz (orbitz.com) and Travelocity (travelocity.com) is an efficient way to get an idea of the range of airfares, but prices you pull up using such services aren’t always available. Consult airline websites, niche-specific travel agencies — and be as flexible as possible with your travel plans — in order to maximize your chances of finding the cheapest airfare possible.

    Step 1

Broaden your airfare search to include alternate dates — airfare search engines include the option for travel plus or minus one, two and sometimes three days — and nearby airports. Flying out of San Antonio, Texas, instead of Austin, for example, may result in a cheaper fare on some flights, while flight departing one day may be significantly more expensive than the day before or after.

    Step 2

Fly during the middle of the week when possible and avoid flying at peak times, such as around or during holidays. Greater demand allows airlines to charge higher fares, so fly when demand is lower to get the best rates.

    Step 3

Check fares on individual airline websites if you aren’t satisfied with what you find using fare aggregators like Hotwire (hotwire.com) and Expedia (expedia.com). Airlines don’t always sell all fares to these aggregators. If an airline is running a special, it may only sell the discounted tickets on its website.

Take advantage of your student or youth status and search flights using a student traveler service like StudentUniverse (studentuniverse.com) or STA Travel (statravel.com). These services sell special fares intended for youth and student travelers. Verify your student status — with a “.edu” email address, for example — to purchase these fares.

Price a round-trip itinerary, even if you only need to fly one way. In some instances, airlines charge a premium for one-way flights, causing the airfare to exceed the would-be cost of a round-trip ticket. Contact the airline after taking the outbound leg of your flight to inquire about receiving a credit for the unused return leg. Use caution when exercising this option, however. It is against many airlines’ policies and may prevent you from receiving frequent flier miles for travel.

My Best Airfare Deal for the Year

November 29, 2015 by Canadian Kilometers Leave A Comment

Generally, you don t have mileage running deals anymore, especially with less than 100% redeemable mile earnings, revenue based earning, and higher fares.

However, I booked the best airfare deal of the year just a month ago, when British Airways had an incredible fare sale on flights to Europe . Flights to London were advertised at $2015, but the actual price was even lower, at around $1800. However, as the day progressed, people discovered that it was working for continental Europe, allowing you to save on APD, which was roughly $220. The base fare was $476.

    $1500 Fare

However, what was even more amazing was that you could stack another discount on these fares. As an AARP member you can take $400 off on a business class fare . applicable to all J-class fare buckets. This let you lower the base fare to $76, with an all-in price of $1035. At that price, it already is a incredible deal for transatlantic business class fares, given that surcharges and taxes when flying British Airways on an award ticket is $800-900 in business class.

The final kicker when booking the fare, however, was that you could stack another promotion on it, which was using Avios to decrease the price of the ticket. Normally, this was only supposed to be used for fares to/from London and on British Airways metal only, but it was working on this fare.

With 30,000 Avios, you could take off $764. This meant you got a redemption value of 2.5 cents on your Avios. You can get these Avios when signing up for the American Express Gold Card or Business Gold Rewards Card. offering 25,000 and 40,000 points in signup bonuses, respectively.

Another $764 discount for 30,000 Avios

This resulted in my fare being only $301, and 30,000 Avios! In ticketing I managed to get the return on American s new 767 with staggered business class seats, and put in an open jaw between Madrid and Barcelona.

    Ticket Issued

This is relevant because it meant that you couldn t apply a systemwide upgrade on the fare (although irrelevant in this case), and it wouldn t be applicable for a promotion on tickets which had to be issued and operated by American.

    The Actual Trip

The first half of the trip went well. A friend decided to join me on this trip, and we flew Los Angeles London Madrid together. Club World was mediocre, although the A380 was nice.

    British Airways Club World

I would rank the seat itself as pretty much below any flat-bed business class product, while service and soft product were average. For $150 though, it was perfectly reasonable. Our flight landed delayed into London, meaning we had an agent greet us at the gate and sprint through Terminal 5 from concourse C to A by foot in 25 minutes. having to clear European transfer security as well.

For those of you who ve transited through London, you ll know how delightfully fun that is.

Luckily, we made the flight, and all was well.

On the return, things got a bit crazy. At the gate area, the boarding agents announced that our flight had been cancelled. This was actually the first time this year a flight had been cancelled on me, so it was totally surreal watching the surprise and shock from all the passengers in the gate area as everyone heard the announcement.

Since everyone had already cleared Schengen exit immigration, we had to go back through immigration, which was severely understaffed. I had my exit stamp crossed off.

    Exit Stamp

The line for rebooking was around 20 deep at this time at ticketing in the departure concourse, so I was doing what I always recommend when IRROPS occurs.

Look at availability online (or ask friends to help you), and call the elite/rebooking line via Skype.

I was on hold with AA while waiting in line, and managed to get rebooked even though American hadn t cancelled the flight officially in their system (it ended up actually leaving 3 hours and 40 minutes late, strangely enough).

My routing back to LA ended up being Barcelona London Heathrow New York JFK Los Angeles. The best part about this was that it was issued back on American (001) ticket stock, and in a flexible fare class (J/D).

As luck had it, I had to make another 35 minute connection in Heathrow, although I did make my flights and actually ended up landing an hour early in LAX compared to my original itinerary (although my long layover in New York got scrapped).

    Earning the Miles

This trip was a miles bonanza, given that I was AA elite at the time, I earned 100% bonus miles, as well as 25% class of service bonus on British Airways, and 50% on American. This meant:

    • 12,870 Base Redeemable Miles
    • 17,749 Elite and Class of Service Bonus Miles

However, this also stacked with two additional promotions. The first was the Trans-Atlantic Bonus, giving a bonus of 25,000 miles for each round-trip in business class across the Atlantic.

    TATL Bonus

    • 25,000 TATL Promo Miles

Finally, I also got to earn miles from American s Bonus Miles promotion for flights marketed and issued on American ticket stock. The IRROPS was especially helpful here, as my return thus become eligible for this promotion.

I earned 12,000 miles each on the LHR-JFK and JFK-LAX legs, and 1,000 miles for the MAD-LHR leg.

This meant I earned a total of 80,619 redeemable miles on this trip,  enough for a First Class one-way ticket to Asia. Even at a conservative valuation of 1.5 cents, that s $1200 in value back in miles. For $301, this was an incredible deal for a trip to Europe, even without the miles!

Top 8 Best Airfare Price Predictor Tools and Apps

    Recomended

I f you’re a traveler as I am, you sure know how important it is to know the fair value of your trip, and be able to save money while flying. But it takes a long time to check so many different websites for deals, and then go back to Google and check your favorite airline’s website once again. This is why tools have been created in order to help us make traveling easier. and cheaper.

    Skyscanner

My favorite tool is and will probably continue to be Skyscanner , because it’s very good at showing you what airfares are going to look like in the next year. Most of the tools we know tend to only show details regarding the next month or first few months, but only few of them go as far as a year.

In addition to that, is also able to help you decide where you’d like to go.

    Kayak

You’ve probably heard of Kayak before – this one’s a tool that searches through many websites at the same time, in order to come up with the best deals for you. All you have to do is go on the website, enter the details of your trip, and wait for it to do its job.

If you’re not in a hurry, Kayak is also going to show you the best options during the next couple of months.

    STA Travel

Working in a similar way as the tool before, this one is also dedicated to students. It works with many global airlines in order to negotiate and win some of the most exclusive traveling deals. To be able to take advantage of this website, you don’t only have to be a student, but also under the age of 26.

Thanks to STA Travel students can book their next tickets for traveling, for their internships or volunteering trips they have planned at a reduced price. Plus they are also able to change their departure and arrival after purchasing the tickets, as STA is the only one providing flexible dates.

Because it requires some flexibility in order to find the best deals – once you’re not stuck with specific dates for your trips, it can help you save up to 50%.

The AirfareWatchDog tool was initially created to find the best fares. However, it recently turned into an alerts tool that allows you to enter the details of your ideal trip and sends you the best deals at a later time. You only decide where you want to go and what the latest date is then you start receiving alerts.

They are typically emailed to you every day, a few times a week or only once every week. It is very popular because it covers most airlines and is sure to also include smaller carriers. This way, you can go to places in South Africa or even Asia without having to worry about the price.

    FareCompare

Last but not least, one of the most advance airfare price predictor tools available online is Fare Compare .

    Before I book a ticket:

No, the airline chooses what kind of ticket that must be issued. In some cases, we are able to make an electronic ticket from a ticket that was originally paper ticket by calling the airline.

    10. I found a ticket at a certain price, but when I tried to purchase it, the fare had changed. What happened?

During the time between your flight search and purchase, the airline may have changed the fare or the fare may have sold out. Airfares change throughout the day, based on demand for the flight and the airlines’ right to modify them at any time.

We monitor these changes closely and make every effort to keep our fare displays as current as possible. Sometimes the fare difference is the result of a technical issue. In that case, clicking “Select” will display the most up-to-date fare.

    11. This vacation will be my honeymoon. Should I book this trip under my married name or maiden name?

The answer depends on whether you will be able obtain a copy of your marriage certificate prior to departure.

If you are not able to get a marriage certificate:

You may reserve your vacation in your maiden name and carry proof of citizenship that reflects your maiden name.

If you are able to get a marriage certificate:

You may reserve your vacation in your married name and carry proof of citizenship that reflects your married name.

Please note that if you are carrying several types of identification reflecting different names, it is suggested that you also carry a copy of your marriage certificate to document your name change.

    12. I am getting Credit Card Not Accepted. What does that mean?

Some airlines do not take some credit cards. For example, some airlines do not take Discover or Diners club. If this message is received during the booking process, we will hold the reservation until a new credit card can be updated. However, we cannot guarantee the fare until the time of ticketing.

Airfare Expert: Cheapest times to fly in 2013

Spring is a great time to go to Europe because the weather s good and you can save a couple of hundred bucks over summer prices. Cities, like Budapest, often have colorful floral displays as well. (Photo: Veronica Gould Stoddart, USA TODAY)

455 CONNECT TWEET 40 LINKEDIN 9 COMMENT EMAIL MORE

If you must fly in the peak of the summer, you might as well quit reading now, as airfare will be consistently high. But if your plans are more flexible, you can save big by choosing the right time to book your trip. There are five cheap periods to fly during 2013 and one of those times is right now:

    1. Most of January

Once the major holidays have passed, prices for January take a dive, which is why it’s considered the number one airfare dead zone. This week is the start of the prime window, as the final wave of higher-priced New Year’s flights subsides.

Exception: We are seeing higher prices (and airfare sale blackout dates) on flights to/from Washington, D.C. on the days just before and after Jan. 20, the date of the presidential inauguration.

    2. Early February

February can be very cheap, with these exceptions: Avoid travel to New Orleans early in the month (that’s where the Super Bowl will be played on Feb. 3) and also avoid flights to/from Las Vegas because a lot of folks head there for game-day partying. Luckily, Feb. 14 falls on a Thursday this year so you should be okay if you want to go someplace romantic; when Valentine’s Day is on a weekend, prices can jump.

One last exception: Watch out for Spring Break travel to rev up in the latter part of the month, which always drives up ticket prices.

    3. Late spring for Europe

Spring is a great time to go to Europe because the weather’s good and you can save a couple of hundred bucks over summer. Rule of thumb: peak pricing typically kicks in around May 15.

    4. Almost any holiday

You probably know that flying on the big day itself – such as Thanksgiving or Christmas – is a lot cheaper than the dates surrounding the holiday, but it’s usually true for the Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day as well. It’s very simple; people don’t want to waste their holidays at the airport but if you don’t mind a few hours of tedium, you will save money.

    5. The cheap weeks of Nov. and Dec.

Call it the pre- and post-holiday periods. One of these is the two-week period at the start of Nov. – what I call the pre-Thanksgiving airfare bargain time. The other comes after Turkey Day (which falls on Nov. 28 in 2013), beginning right about Dec. 3 and continuing until about Dec. 18. Most people will travel during holidays of course so these weeks are total dead zones and tickets are priced to move.

    Airfare to Florence

Search here for great deals on cheap airfare to Florence

For many, a trip to Florence is the entire point of a trip to Italy. The city that gave birth to the Renaissance has no shortage of attractions, and it s an ideal home base for exploring much of Tuscany, too. What you might be surprised by, however, is that Florence despite being the capital of Tuscany isn t home to the region s busiest airport. That distinction belongs to Pisa. There is an airport in Florence, though, and if you re researching all avenues for cheap flights then it makes sense to check out any airports in the area.

While Tuscany s main international gateway is in nearby Pisa, the airport in Florence can be an option depending on where you re flying from. There are some airlines that serve Florence and not Pisa, so that gives you a few more options for flying into Tuscany from your pre-Italy layover city.

    Quick links to further resources:

    Airports in Florence

Florence s airport goes by a few names you might hear it referenced as Amerigo Vespucci Airport, Peretola Airport, or simply Florence Airport (FLR). While the airport is physically in a nearby town called Sesto Fiorentino, it s less than 3 miles from Florence so it s very easy to get back and forth.

There isn t train service to and from Florence s airport, but by bus it s only a 15-20 minute trip to or from the city center. The bus stop is at the central station in Florence, which is within easy walking distance of the historic center or you can hop on a train and get to wherever else you re going. There are also several car rental companies at the airport, if you ll be driving into the countryside straight away it s not advisable to rent a car at the airport just to drive into Florence s city center, however.

Air France, Alitalia, and Lufthansa serve the Florence airport, but most of the airlines flying to and from Florence are smaller budget carriers. Assuming your flight plan would include a layover between your home airport and Florence, you might check to see whether switching to a budget carrier might save you some money.

How to Find Cheap Airfare to Florence

If you ve ever gone on the hunt for cheap airfare to Italy. you know that it can often be harder to find than good deals on flights to other European countries. The best deals are usually into the major airports in Rome and Milan but what if your trip doesn t include either of those cities? Flying directly to Florence isn t likely to be cheaper than flying to Rome or Milan, but it doesn t have to cost a fortune, either.

Here are some tips to help you find cheap flights to Florence.

    • Check other area airports Florence may be your first stop, but if you re having trouble finding cheap fares directly into Florence s airport then check other airports nearby. The Pisa Airport (PSA) is actually Tuscany s main airport, and there s both bus and train service directly from Pisa s airport into central Florence. Another option, depending on whether you re going to Florence or elsewhere in central Italy, is the Perugia Airport (PEG) in nearby Umbria.
  • Avoid the high season Traveling during the high season will always mean higher prices, especially on airfare. Unfortunately, the high season in Florence is longer than some other parts of Italy Tuscany s high season is effectively May-September these days, and it s still quite busy during much of the rest of the year, too. You can avoid the highest prices, however, by planning your trip outside the high season.
  • Look into budget airlines As mentioned, most of the airlines serving Florence are of the smaller discount variety. If your route would already include a stopover in Europe or somewhere else en route to Florence, it s worth checking to see whether you could switch to a low-cost airline for the last leg of your journey. Some of the discount carriers flying into Florence are Air Berlin. Baboo, Blue Air, and Meridiana.

    Cheapest international airfare – tips – tricks #travel #insurance #comparison #sites

    #the cheapest airfare
    #

    Cheap Airfares

    Cheapest airfare for international flights

For international flights, don’t count on the search engines

Search engines like Hipmunk and Kayak are great for finding flights within the U.S. but sometimes they’re not so good for international flights, especially those that start or end in exotic places like Asia, India, or Africa. That’s because not all foreign airlines make their fares available to the search engines, and even those which do sometimes don’t list their best fares. International engines like Momondo. Skyscanner. and Mobissimo sometimes do better, but even they sometimes miss fares offered by certain airlines.

So what do you do? First off, try a travel agent in the country you’re visiting. Yes, a travel agent. Years ago you stopped using travel agents for domestic flights because you realized you could get the best fares yourself online. (Either that, or you’re so young you never used a travel agent in the first place.) Well, that goes out the window as soon as you’re talking international fares. Case in point: Once the best fare I could get for Japan to India (Osaka to Delhi) from Kayak, Orbitz, etc. was $1641. I walked across the street to a travel agent in Osaka and got a price of $1108 a whopping $538 savings. (And yes, that budget price included taxes and all applicable fees.)

I had a similar experience in India, trying to get a flight to Hong Kong. I spent hours on the net and I think the best I could come up with was around $1200. I mentioned my problem to the hotel staff, and they said they were sure they could arrange a ticket for me. I asked them to go ahead, and sure enough, they did, for around $566 — less than half price! (I tipped appropriately.) The point is, you just can’t expect all international flights to show up in the search engines.

If you go this route you need to make sure that you’re not being scammed by buying a fake ticket, and that’s especially true in India. But as long as you work with staff at a hotel you should be okay, because if they scammed you then you could tell the police exactly who they were, so they’re not likely to do so. Just don’t buy from someone who doesn’t have a permanent business location.

(Incidentally, those tickets I just mentioned were all before I stopped flying, because flying causes climate change . Now I travel by train and cargo ship, and I bought carbon offsets for the travel I already took.)

Next tip: Check the price at the airlines directly. Find the airlines that serve the country you’re flying to or from. (Use Bing or Google.) You can then check the airlines’ websites or call them to get fares, which will often be substantially cheaper than what you can find in the search engines. One Australian reader says that he saved $200 by going directly to Qantas over what he could find on Kayak and the other engines.

Finally, our general tips for getting cheap airfare apply to international fares as well. For example, round-trips are often cheaper than one-ways for some inexplicable reason, so if you’re planning an around-the-world trip full of one-ways, you might save by buying roundtrip tickets and then not using the return trip. Also, remember that when you insist on flying on certain days you’ll usually pay more, so if your schedule is flexible, pick your travel destination first. and then find the cheapest travel dates for that destination. If you start your research with hard-wired dates in hand, you’re unilkely to get the best deal.

[an error occurred while processing this directive] U.S. to Bermuda, Cancun, etc. USA3000 offers service between select U.S. cities and Bermuda, Cancun, La Romana, Puerto Plata, and Punta Cana. In Sept. 2004 we checked and found a roundtrip fare between Baltimore and Bermuda for $160 (!), while the best Orbitz could find was closer to $400.

    Other international sites

Other sites we found which have good international fares are:

    • Anywhere to anywhere: Skyscanner (reportedly very good with European flights, and lets you search for flights to or from an entire country, without having to enter the city)
  • U.S. to/from Canada: Air Canada
  • Canada to everywhere: Sears Travel
  • Australia to Australia: Fare Hunter
  • Other international, especially Europe: Mobissimo Momondo.
    • Momondo’s flexible dates feature is awesome. It gives you a GRAPH showing the price for every single day in any month you choose. Sweet! Unfortunately, this feature doesn’t always work, though.
  • Tip for flying into Europe

Kelly Fine writes: “We found that it was much cheaper to fly to London on one airline and fly from London to the Continent on another airline. This seemed to be true no matter what city in Europe we wanted to go to. And it was impossible to find a cheap flight from anywhere to Bratislava, so we found a flight to Vienna, which is only a little over an hour by bus from Bratislava. Flying into central and eastern Europe is much more expensive than flying to western Europe.”

Courier travel: A thing of the past

For years I used to mention the great deals you could get as a courier, by carrying documents or packages in exchange for a deeply discounted fare. But over the years I had to slowly remove the courier websites from my list one at a time as they went out of business, and now there are pretty much none left. Well, there might be a couple, but they can’t really save you any money.

    So what happened?

    • The Internet now lets companies send documents quickly and cheaply, so fewer couriers are needed.
    • Post 9/11 regulations make it harder to transport items that aren’t actually yours.
    • The fact that airlines now charge for checked baggage makes courier travel a worse deal (both for the courier company as well as for the traveler).
    • Travelers now have easy access to discounted fares through the Internet, so they can already save a lot compared to what they might have had to pay in the past.

Here’s a good article from MSNBC which explains the change. Sorry, the party’s over.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you liked the site. I’ll leave you with a couple of hand-picked ads.

Score the Best Flight Deals on These 10 Sites

By Dani Fankhauser 2013-04-30 14:03:53 UTC

There’s not much that can evoke thoughts of both work and play like buying airfare. You’re either trying to find a last-minute ticket to make it in time for a meeting, or hoping to get to a remote island as cheaply as possible.

Some trips are regular, essential and planned far in advance, like visiting the family for Christmas; while other trips — spending time with that long-distance significant other — are flexible on dates, but can break your wallet if not purchased strategically.

For whatever your airfare needs may be, there is a growing corral of consumer portals for searching available flights and getting deals. Some make the experience less stress-inducing; others make it feel like a game. Search giants Google and Bing are both on the scene amongst scrappy startups with pithy names. No matter where you’re going, the best flight at the best price is at your fingertips.

What site do you use to find the perfect flight price? Let us know in the comments.

    1. GetGoing

You might have used Hotwire to book a room at a mystery hotel in your destination, but now GetGoing raises the stakes and applies the psychology to flights — except this time, you pick not one but two locations. The service boasts 40% discounts on airfare and is designed for cost-conscious travelers who are flexible with their destination — worth a shot for your next island escape or ski trip.

    2. Flightfox

Did you dream of becoming a travel agent when you grew up, only to find the algorithms had taken over? Fear not; there are some problems that only human curators can solve. Flightfox allows you to post your more complex travel plans and other Flightfox users will compete to track down the cheapest or best route. You’ll pay an upfront fee of $24 (or more, depending on the challenge) and the winning user will take home 75%. If you’ve ever felt like there was a secret to finding good travel deals — there probably is, but Flightfox will connect you with the people in the know.

    3. FlyinAway

We usually assume flights are priced by supply and demand but sometimes it seems there’s a complex coefficient in there somewhere. FlyinAway is a new site that puts pricing directly into the hands of the traveler — and the other travelers interested in the same flight. That’s right, you’ll have to outbid other travelers to get a deal; however, things are complicated as the auction will not open unless enough users have expressed interest in that route (a la Groupon’s group buying).

    4. Hipmunk

Hipmunk animation video via Flickr, brownpau

The Y-Combinator darling from Reddit’s Steve Huffman (with a cuddly mascot you wish you could take with you on the plane) popularized the idea of searching for flights by “agony,” to optimize your flight for price, length and layovers. The site design is among the best, and along with hotel search, Hipmunk recently added flight deal alerts and the ability to track an airfare by email (if you’re up to holding out on your purchase to see if the price drops).

    5. Geneo

A mobile app brought to you by the makers of CheapOair, Geneo is a mobile-only experience perfect for someone who frequently needs to book flights on-the-go. The iOS app will keep track of your search history and home airport.

    6. Momondo

A colorful site that sticks to the basics, Momondo actually crawls or scrapes airfare sites rather than plugging into a third party aggregator. It’s possible the site will recommend a different airline for your trip out and back, but if this turns out to be cheaper, why not? Many people mix and match airlines themselves and Momondo does the work for you. There’s also a handy calendar so if pushing your trip back a day will save you some dough, you can easily navigate to it.

    7. Bing Travel

Bing is a step into the future — literally. What makes the site stand out is one simple line, Bing’s “tip,” which will tell you to buy or to wait. For example, on a search today for a flight from New York to San Diego, Bing says fares will rise $50 or more and has 80% confidence. You can also filter by airline, specific airports, duration and “flight quality” — to avoid red eyes, for example.

    8. Google Flights

Google bought flight software ITA (used by other consumer searches including Hipmunk) and the result of the purchase is Google’s own flight search. The site works best on domestic flights in the U.S. (although it services some international flights, it doesn’t include all airlines in the search results). A map view allows you to drag and drop your route to another location to see the price changes, while a bar graph view visualizes how fares change over time (changing trip duration by a day or two can cut down on cost as well).

    9. Yapta

If you’re a big shopper you know how frustrating it is when something you just bought goes on sale — unless you’re lucky enough that the store will give you a refund equal to the discount. Yapta wants to do the same for your airfares, depending on each airline’s policy. If it’s possible to get some money back, Yapta will tell you.

    10. Adioso

Also accelerated in Y Combinator. Adioso similarly is built for cost-conscious travelers with a flexible itinerary. What stands out is the search function, which behaves a little more like your brain — an example search might be “New York to Southeast Asia in mid-July for 10 days.” Your results will give you a good idea of where you can get and for how cheap — and if nothing meets your requirements, you can set up email alerts to see if the price drops. If your goal is to go somewhere cool, rather than stick to a specific vacation plan, you might have some luck with a deal via Adioso.
