Smile Design Dentistry of Tampa Palms – General Dentistry – 16021

#

16021 Tampa Palms Blvd W
Tampa. FL 33647
(813) 517-1446

In the Tampa Florida area this Dental Group is the place to go. All of the doctors in this group are great but if i had to choose one it would be Dr Gary Nanavati. You can get more info than i can list here from their website thesmiledesign.com. They are my latest addition to my list of Great Dentists in the US Dr Gary Nanavati is all about continuing education and the latest techniques. The last time I saw him was when some of my staff and I was doing a 3 part course in the Clearwater area. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr Patel and Dr Buckley. Rest assured your mouth will be in good hands with the doctors of Tampa Palms Dental.

Best dentistry office I have ever been to. I have a history of gum issues, but my hygienist, Stephanie, has helped me get them into shape. She recommended all the right products I needed, but never pushed anything on me that I didn t really need. The result, after a few visits, is that my gums are in better shape than ever! Today she said, Your gums look great! I never thought I d hear that in my lifetime. Stephanie is courteous, professional, friendly, and really good at what she does. Thank you, Stephanie, and thank you Smile Dentist Design for a consistently positive experience at the dentist.

Only went because they were having a summer special. I am not sure what their usual pricing is. It is located in the publix plaza so it is in a really nice location. The dentist that came in to see me had an amazing personality, actually seemed like he wanted to be there and that he enjoyed his job. I would come here again.

I made an appt with Dr. Bucklley, New Tampa Palms office I was impressed with the receptionist and the overall look of the office. thought great I have found an office I liked that is approved by my insurance. BIG MISTAKE. upon completing the paperwork mixed in with the HIPA forms was a document that states Patient consent to use credit, debit card disclosure the form required initial by each statement and sign (patient will not challenge any charges made by Smile Design Dentistry to my bank debit or credit card. I explained I am not comfortable signing a form that takes my rights away and give you card blanch to my bank/credit account so I asked if I was reading this correctly and the office manager stated that is correct you are giving up you right to dispute any changes made by the office. I ripped up the paper work (except for the one page document discussed above) and stated I hope all their patients read what they sign. I would only authorize charges on an aggreed upon dental plan of treatment. The office manager said then we won t treat you without cash and I was free to leave. I hope the doctors review just what they are requesting of their patients.

Aloha Bail Bonds – Bail Bondsmen – 320 W Cedar St,

#

320 W Cedar St
San Diego. CA 92101
United States
+1-619-235-9999

I was involved in an unfortunate situation where I had to find a bailsbond while I was in jail. I called Aloha bailsbond because the name reminding me of Hawaii (I know, it s lame, but when hundreds of options are presented, you go off of instinct). She picked up the phone immediately and totally trusted that I would pay her when I got out. She posted bail for me without a dime and on a promise. I was out as soon as they allowed us. Very responsive and professional and would highly recommend. While her office location is not one to be desired, Aloha was very professional and handled my situation delicately. Highly recommend her service.

Don t know what the below person is talking about. It seems as though he has a personal problem with the owner, and says nothing about the service provided. I had a great experience with Aloha. They were very nice and knowledgeable. Got my brother out of jail fast and worked with me on payments.

Pathways Real Life Recovery – 31 Photos – Counseling & Mental

Ste 205
Sandy. UT 84070

I found these folks after an exhausting internet and personal search. I will say hands down this is the best run facility in SLC. Unlike other support groups that you sit around in a circle and hash out your war stories for 3 hours ( which is helpful to no one) this facility treats the whole person. with on-site doctors, behavioral specialists, psychologists, and an easy flexible schedule for folks who have to work and have a family. Other places are so regimented it s almost impossible to have a full-time job and get help. not here. The staff is so caring and the owner is one of a kind gem, Michelle really cares about us all. I have never felt more supported and loved 🙂 thank you Pathways.

As a therapist I have sent a number of clients to Pathways they have one of the best programs in Utah. They have a lot of flexibility with insurance which is a huge blessing.

Career Facts – Accounting Program – Business and Economics Department –

#

Accounting Program Career Facts

What They Do:

Accountants and auditors prepare, analyze, and verify financial reports and taxes and monitor information systems that furnish this information to managers in business, industry, and government.

The major fields of accounting are public, management, and government accounting. Public accountants have their own businesses or work for public accounting firms. They perform a broad range of accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting activities for their clients, who may be corporations, governments, nonprofit organizations, or individuals. Management accountants (also called industrial, corporate, or private accountants) record and analyze the financial information of the companies for which they work. Other responsibilities include budgeting, performance evaluation, cost management, and asset management Government accountants and auditors maintain and examine the records of government agencies and audit private businesses and individuals whose activities are subject to government regulations or taxation.

Within each field, accountants often concentrate on one aspect of accounting. For example, many public accountants concentrate on tax matters, such as preparing individual income tax returns and advising companies of the tax advantages and disadvantages of certain business decisions.

Increasing numbers of accounting graduates are working in private corporations. Management accountants analyze and interpret the financial information corporate executives need to make sound business decisions. They also prepare financial reports for non-management groups, including stockholders, creditors, regulatory agencies, and tax authorities. Within accounting departments, they may work in financial analysis, planning and budgeting, cost accounting, and other areas.

Who Would Enjoy It:

People with accounting jobs understand information systems and are skilled at working with computers to gather, report, and interpret information. Skills in human relations and interviewing are essential because accountants need to understand and solve financial problems for other people.

Accounting covers a wide variety of jobs including Financial Reporting, Income Tax Research and Preparation, Information Systems Design, Auditing, Budget Preparation, and Cost Accounting. Levels of accounting jobs range from clerical bookkeeping to Vice-President of Finance/Chief Financial Officers.

What They Earn:

The average starting salary for someone with a bachelor s degree is about $35,000 per year, yet salaries ranged from $30,000 to $40,000. Those with 1 to 3 years experience will increase to about $50,000 a year, with salaries ranging from $30,000 and $60,000 in the higher management positions. After 10 to 15 years of experience in this field, one may earn up to $110,000 per year. Starting salaries with an associate degree vary with the individual s education and work experience. Bookkeeping jobs for students working on a degree vary from $8.00 per hour on up depending upon education and experience.

How Many Jobs Available:

Employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through the year 2014. Each year, several hundred thousand jobs for bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks will become available as these clerks transfer to other occupations or leave the labor force. The large size of the occupation ensures plentiful job openings, including many opportunities for temporary and part-time work.

How Much Schooling, Training, or Skill Development:

Most professional accountant and internal auditor positions require at least a bachelor s degree in accounting or a related field. However, many employers are beginning to prefer candidates who have earned a master s degree. A variety of bookkeeping and paraprofessional accounting jobs are available for people with less than an associate degree. There appears to be a growing trend for these jobs to request a minimum of an associate degree.

Accountants traditionally have been detail-oriented and that is still important, but modern accountants require a much broader set of abilities. The modern accountant needs highly developed analytical skills to deal with the ever-changing business environment. Good oral and written communication skills are a necessity. Interpersonal skills are highly desirable. The ability to effectively work with computers is a necessity. Computerization lessened the focus on repetitive, detail-oriented work in accounting in favor of analysis and communication.

Based on recommendations made by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, most states currently require CPA candidates to complete 150 semester hours of college coursework. Students already holding a bachelor s degree in another field who earn an associate degree in accounting may meet the educational qualifications for the CPA examination and entry into professional levels of accounting. In Michigan, the 150-hour law can be met with LCC classes if the student has a 4-year degree already.

Scherrie Keating. of Diabetes Kare Consulting. presented a compelling perspective of diabetes care and pre-diabeties prevention including the key elements of risk for diabetes. She urged everyone to pay attention to weight, lifestyle and other physiological indications that can cause diabetes. Of particular note, listen carefully to results of blood tests and warning language that doctors use like – having slightly elevated levels of blood sugar. That is a critical warning flag that someone has pre-diabetes and should take measures to reduce risk

When we introduced Rotary Club Central in 2012, it revolutionized goal tracking and planning for clubs and districts — no more filling out paper club-planning forms or passing along boxes of historical club information every time a new leader took office. Rotary Club Central offered clubs and districts a quantifiable way to begin measuring local and global impact, specifically membership initiatives, service activities, and Rotary Foundation giving. But as with any technological advancement, in a few short years, Rotary Club Central began to show its age, and Rotarians took notice. They.

At its January 2017 meeting, the Rotary International Board of Directors adopted a new zone structure for Rotary clubs. Rotary bylaws require the Board to complete a comprehensive review of the 34 Rotary zones no less often than every eight years to ensure that each zone has an approximately equal number of Rotarians. The Board’s previous review of the zones occurred in 2008. The Board earlier approved the creation of three regional workgroups to develop rezoning proposals for Asia, Europe/Africa, and the Americas. These workgroups comprised one representative (either a current director.

Through The Rotary Foundation, Rotary members have supported thousands of projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, save mothers and children, support education, and grow local economies. The Atlanta Host Organization Committee is offering some good old-fashioned Southern hospitality at the Rotary International Convention from 10 to 14 June. It has planned a wide range of activities featuring everything from good food and music to inspiring tours of local landmarks. If it’s your first convention, these events are chances to meet fellow Rotarians from around the world, and if you’re an experienced convention goer, you can catch up with old friends. Hall of Fame baseball player Hank Aaron will host Rotarians for a “Strike Out Polio” night at the new SunTrust Park, where you’ll.

When Teguest Yilma helped found the Rotary Club of Addis Ababa Entoto in 2002, she thought polio had already been eradicated from most of the world. But while Ethiopia had been free of the disease, Yilma was shocked to learn that new cases had started cropping up in surrounding countries such as Somalia. “I was thinking, it’s not possible, we can’t be free if the countries around us are not free,” she says. Yilma, the managing editor of Capital, Ethiopia’s largest English weekly newspaper, has brought a journalist’s skills to the fight against polio. She became vice chair of the Ethiopia.

Diligent Pest Control – Pest Control – 3500 NW Boca Raton

#

3500 NW Boca Raton Blvd
Ste 714
Boca Raton. FL 33431
(866) 773-8732

Part of how I put myself through college was with a part time pest control job, so I know a little more than your average homeowner. I was using another company that was average before using Diligent and the technician was friendly enough, but when I met the owner and he explained how they approach the process with environmentally friendly materials and an outside only treatment I wanted to give them a chance. I can tell you that my experience is much better with Diligent. Not only have they practically eliminated any signs of bugs in my home, they have not had to apply any treatments inside my home. We have seen a steady improvement as time has gone by as well. The owner is responsive and knowledgeable and his technicians are friendly and do their job well. While no company or person is perfect, Diligent has come as close as I can hope for in a Pest Control company and I would sincerely recommend trying Diligent for your Pest Control needs.

No more bugs thanks to quality and efficient service. If you want your home pest free make sure to contact them.

Hired company to treat back and side yard lawn, trees and plants that were healthy and bushy. Three months later, everything is dead! They came back out and said weed killer must have been applied but said they didnt do it (they were the ONLY company treating the property) Took 7 years to create tropical, lush backyard and only 3 months for Diligent to kill it! Company has no interest in taking any blame or offering me any assistance

Business Owner

We have responded immediately to every phone call or email you have sent to us. We do not run… Philip,

We have responded immediately to every phone call or email you have sent to us. We do not run the other way when there are issues at hand. However; in good conscience I can take responsibility for something we did not do. We understand good practices and being a small business we appreciate all of our customers, we truly do.

I do understand your frustration and it is not my intent to sound immune to your issue. I provided you the active ingredients for the product we used to give you a better understanding.

You hired us on 11/1/12 ask asked if we could provide better results than you were currently experiencing with another company. We performed one spray treatment and then a follow-up visit weeks later.

It was a spray-only application using an Imidacloprid. In February, you contacted us about some growing concerns and provided images. Based on the images I advised you I could not determine but it looked as if somebody misapplied a weed killer or overferitlized. Both products were never used by us for your treatment. If so, it would have been coded differently on your account and your costs would have been significantly more.

All of our technicians are certified and trained by the Universairty of Florida. We take pride in our service and providing the best training practices for all of our technicians.

Philip, I want to help you and it would be wonderful to make an unhappy customer happy again; however, I cannot just tell you we did something we did not do for the sake of that. You hired us to replace a company and we performed one service that included an initial treatment and a follow-up.

We haven t been doing your property for years or even 6 months. We did not monitor your property or conduct multiple treatments. It would be very difficult to pinpoint the exact issue, but like I said in our previous conversation it looks as if fertilizer was misused and/or weed killer. It could have been another company, could have been an honest mistake by the homeowner. I just know it wasn t us and not because you have an issue 5 months later after one treatment, but because we would have set up your account and your charges would have been exponentially more had we used said products such as fertilizer or a weed killer on your property. Richard’s Locksmith – Safes – 11 Reviews – Keys & Locksmiths

#

I needed my locks changed quickly yesterday at my business. They came out shortly after I called and were very friendly and worked fast. Would definitely use them again!

I have actually never given a bad review. Until now. I have a 1910 Victor Safe. I live right down the street from Richards Locksmith and SAFE so I thought they would be a good option. Boy was I wrong! I stopped in first to get a price and tell them about the safe. I was told a service call was $60,00 and if they couldn t get it to open I would be charged extra to drill it open if I chose that option. When the technician came he told me he had never heard of this kind of safe. umm ok. He could not get it open using the combination. He told me it was $85.00 an HOUR to drill it open and he could not me how long that would take. I told him thanks but no thanks and I would pay him $60.00 for the service call. He told me plus tax. I said fine. He goes out to the truck and brings back a bill of $108.00, you know for the labor. What? I called the owner (Jack)and was told that was correct and he couldn t understand why I was upset. Really? The technician was here a total of 25 minutes and didn t open the safe and charged $108.00. I have lived in Coral Springs for 20 years and this is the worst experience I have ever had with a business here. I feel totally ripped off and taken advantage of, Beware.

Good work but way overpriced. If we knew how much they would charge, we would have called another company. I recommend you get a firm quote before any job to ensure you aren t overcharged and shop around.

They were very prompt and professional in answering my phone call and inquiries. Initially we only needed the lock fixed on our main entrance but then upon inspecting the new house further, realized that we needed a couple of other things done too. We also needed the lock on our shed door fixed and on our fence too. The technician was on time and only took about a half hour for everything. They also made new keys for us and made one key to match both the front entrance and the shed door. The price was reasonable too. I d highly recommend them to friends and family.

They over charge for everything. it s ridiculous. Every other store I called charged $25 less for the key I needed. I prefer to drive a little more that get ripped off by this people. they take advantage that are the only ones in coral springs to charge whatever they want.

We were able to get copies of our car key at richards locksmith when lowes wasn t able to do it. We are sticking with richards locksmith for all our lock and key needs. They have been in that same location forever.

I called them to come change the locks on my house and they came within an hour and changed all of them in less than 30 minutes! I was very impressed with the service, and professionalism.

their copies of keys actually work. which doesn t sound like a big deal except that most other places can t seem to manage it. they also come to your house and re-key locks when necessary, and do so in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. bottom line: they do what they re supposed to do, it works, and their prices are competitive.

I have an old safe, I don t know anything about safes. Aside from they are heavy! I called a few other locksmiths and was told, it s old, it s not worth the repair and to get a new one. I wanted to be sure. So I took it to Richards. Was told if the keypad needed to be replaced it could cost up to $200.00 They fixed it in a day, and only charged me $15.00. I was stunned. I couldn t believe it! I went in to pick it up and it was $15.00. They also printed me the manual for the safe. Could not be happier, they are honest and experts in their field. It s nice to do business with actual professionals. Thank you very much. See you soon!

The have prompt courteous service people. Make any kind of exotic car key too!

These guys are professionals and honest. Did a great job restoring the ignition cylinder on my car, otherwise I would have to spend a lot more money in the dealer. Also they have a wide selection of locks, safes, keys. Nice and friendly service.

Troy University – Colleges & Universities – 600 University Ave, Troy,

#

600 University Ave
Troy. AL 36079
(334) 670-0848

TROY is a great university which combines the best elements of being a worldwide university catering to the armed forces with over 37 overseas campuses with the intimate experience of attending a small rural college with an absolutely gorgeous and highly maintained campus. Troy University cares about its students, and provides one of the best college educations in the state, if not the Southeast. A degree from TROY becomes more valuable all the time as this school s excellent reputation spreads as a result of the good work of its students and the dedication of its faculty and promoters. Of course, no review of Troy University would be complete without at least a passing mention of the always exciting Troy Trojans football team. Troy s football team consistently takes on highly-ranked schools and often gives them a run for their money, sometimes even surprising their opponents and bringing home the big win. The Trojans are perennial Sun Belt Conference champions, and no autumn trip to Troy is complete without taking in the fun, accessible atmosphere of a Troy Trojans football game.

Our son has completed two years at Troy University. We are all very happy with the school. It s a small town and a quiet campus. The casual style is a good fit for our son.

Troy University is a thoroughly frustrating experience. If you re looking for a graduate program taught by clueless professors, or taught at a high school level, this is the school for you. Troy likes to sink money into shiny new buildings at the expense of their core mission – education. I have never seen a library filled with so many old books. Their collection is in dire need of updating. The administration is difficult to deal with. Everyone you talk to will give you a different answer to your question. But perhaps most impressive, the people in the office right next to the bursar s office couldn t tell me where I needed to go to pay my tuition. No, the words TROJAN CENTER did not tell me they collected money in there. Troy University exists to take students money so Dr Hawkins can pay for his place at En Soleil in Panama City Beach. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Troy University is the worst school I have ever dealt with. Their staff is completely unprofessional and they can t deal with any situation requested correctly. They lag on everything I ve requested of them. I got yelled at by my advisor the first day I went there, they didn t send me the requested documents to apply for student aid so I got charged $1,500 out of pocket for my term, and when I requested and paid for my official transcripts, I was sent unofficial even though they were paid for. The staff is completely incompetent and I recommend if anyone is considering this school. look elsewhere! Coming from Axia College and going to Kaplan University; I would rather spend a little extra on the service and professionalism you receive.

troy university is a stuck up school. they are over rated and they treat students as if they owe them. They are slow to respond to things, they dont have enough parking, they dont believe in giving students a second chance if a mistake did occur. They are rude and unprofessional. They are all about the money. the professors are not teaching the students the students are teaching themselves. Run for the hills. I would try another university before I would Troy.

First Savings Bank Northwest – Banks & Credit Unions – 201

#

Best bank hands down. They are so helpful and professional. No standing in lines at the teller window – you sit with the bankers as they work with your transactions. Banking the way it should be done.

I think that FSBNW is great! The staff are very nice-always smiling faces-and more importantly, always willing to help. I ve had accounts for about a year and I have nothing to complain about. I definitely get the feeling of FSBNW being a community bank, and they do a lot of things to help support the Renton area. Recently they put one of those nifty ATMs that take deposits without envelopes. The building exudes professionalism and the staff definitely shows it as well.

Men s Basketball

Wallace State men s basketball has established itself as one of the top programs in the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) after winning three league titles since 2010, including two under coach John Meeks.

During the 2016-2017 season, Wallace State made its sixth consecutive postseason appearance under Meeks.

In 2016-17, sophomore point guard Jaylen McCoy capped an impressive Wallace State career by being named a 2nd-team All-ACCC North Division selection after averaging a team-high 14.9 points per game and dishing out 51 assists.

Sophomore Rashawn Green added 9.1 points per game for Wallace State, while guard Zach Allison led the team with 111 assists, while adding 6.5 points per contest.

After seven seasons at Wallace State, Meeks has developed into one of the most successful coaches in the conference, compiling a 136-90 record in Hanceville and making six consecutive postseason appearances. The 34-year-old coach has won two ACCC/Region 22 tournament and regular-season championships with the Lions and was named the 2015 ACCC co-North Division Coach of the Year, a season after earning 2014 ACCC Coach of the Year honors.

Before earning the Wallace State helm, Meeks spent two seasons as the head man at Louisburg College in North Carolina, where he went 51-15 and guided the Hurricanes to the NJCAA Division II championship, where they won their first ever national tournament game. Meeks, who has a 187-105 career record in nine seasons between his two head coaching stops, was also selected as the 2010 NJCAA District 15 Coach of the Year.

During the 2015-16 season, Wallace State put together one of its best campaigns in the Meeks era, finishing as the ACCC regular season champions for the second time in three tries and earning a No. 1 seed in the league tournament. The Lions finished with a 26-6 record, including a 13-2 mark at home. Wallace State closed the regular season winning 17 of 20 games.

Wallace State sophomore Marcus Barham was an All-ACCC/Region 22 2nd-team selection after averaging a team-high 11.9 points and draining a team-high 69 3-pointers, and forwards Immanuel King and Derylton Hill were each ACCC North Division 2nd-team members.

Additionally, Xavier Mills and Kylen Butler were ACCC All-Tournament selections that season.

Meeks entire coaching career spans 16 seasons and includes assistant stops at Bluefield College in Virginia and three years at NAIA Lee University (Tenn.). He has coached six NAIA All-Americans, one NJCAA All-American, 12 All-Conference players, five conference MVPs, seven All-Region performers and one defensive player of the year.

During the 2015-16 season, Meeks organized a trip for his team to the Dominican Republic, becoming the first NJCAA team in any sport to compete on foreign soil. The Lions won a pair of games in Santo Domingo, D.R. and also spent time visiting orphanages and distributing items like soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, uniforms, tennis shoes, T-shirts and candy to children.

Wallace State recorded its most wins under Meeks during the 2013-14 season when the Lions finished 28-7 and won the program s third conference title. The Lions were paced by the backcourt trio of Jestin Lewis, Lee Moore and Marcus Johnson all season.

Wallace State also won state championships in 2012 and 2010. In 2012, the Lions reeled off four wins in four days as a No. 6 seed at the 2012 ACCC tournament and prevailed in a consolation game at the national tournament. In 2010, the Lions won their first state championship and made their first national tournament appearance in coach Allen Sharpe s final season in Hanceville, finishing fifth in the country.

Wallace State basketball set school records for wins (32) during the 2009-10 and 2007-08 seasons, was seventh in the preseason rankings by The Sporting News in 2009-10 and has been ranked No. 1 in the nation once (2007-08). The program has also produced two first-team All-Americans in Cory Cooperwood (2006-07, 2007-08) and L.A. Farmer (2009-10).

Bucks County Community College – Colleges & Universities – 1 Hillendale

#

1 Hillendale Rd
Perkasie. PA 18944
(215) 453-3020

Everyone hates on going to community college coming out of high school, but honestly going to Bucks was one of the smartest choices I ve ever made. Here s why: AFFORDABLE – I paid off each semester easily. If you live in the county, a year of college at Bucks is only going to cost you more or less 4,000 dollars. SAME PREREQS- As long as you do the research to make sure every class you take is transferable, taking your prerequisites here is the same as taking your prerequisites elsewhere. The only difference is about 10-12,000 dollars. Saving that much moolah sounds pretty damn good to me. STUDENT TO TEACHER RATIO – The student to teacher ratio is pretty small. It usually looks something like 19:1, though I m not exactly sure what the ratio truly is. Individualized attention is not hard to come across. The classes are not insanely large, especially at the Perkasie campus. GREAT PROFESSORS – I ve had some of the most awesome and involved professors at Bucks. Randolph Quinby was my favorite. he teaches Humanities courses. Take one of his classes; you won t be disappointed. CLASSES FOR FULL TIME WORKERS – There are tons of options for night classes, online classes, and hybrid classes (half online, half in school) that are designed specifically for hard working people with a busy schedule. Of these three options, I prefer night classes. They are from 6 to 9:30 at night with a break at around 7:30/8. The professors understand a busy schedule and, as long as you put genuine effort into the class, they will understand if something comes up (late night shift at work; kids sick; etc). CUTE CAMPUS – Yes, the Perkasie campus is wimpy wimpy wimpy. But it s just so. CUTE. The two buildings are located in a Giant shopping plaza. And I don t mean giant as in the size; I mean it s literally located right next to the supermarket Giant. I like it though; big campuses always intimidated me. There s a cafe called Down to Earth Cafe in the plaza where a lot of students will go before or after class. TRANSFER AGREEMENT PROGRAMS – Many of Pennsylvania s state schools have a transfer agreement program with Bucks. I know from personal experience that Penn State Abington will grant you a 1000 dollar scholarship if you graduate with your associates from Bucks and transfer to their campus. There are a ton more options too. ADVISORS – Let s be honest: advisors want you in and out of the program just as much as you want to be in and out of the program. The advisors will do their job to get you into the classes you need and help you graduate as soon as possible, and advising slots are always open. So I obviously have a slight obsession with this school, but it s only because I m sick of hearing everyone bash it! Bucks County is an amazing area in the state to live in, and the community school is a good one! (And much better than Montco, I ve heard ;]). Definitely don t rule out a community college for the sole reason that it is a community college. It s a great choice in the long run and I promise you won t regret going here. ) Cheers to Bucks Perkasie. WARNING: The fact that Bucks is a community college does not take away from the difficulty of its astronomy class. IT S A TRAP! It s not all about pretty stars. it s actually really difficult, and the professor was hardcore. There were 11 people in my astronomy class initially, and we ended up with 4 left. I was one of the last ones standing, but I barely passed with a C. There was another girl who was a straight-A senior at Kutztown University who had been putting off her science credit. She took the same class I did and she barely made it out alive as well. Don t underestimate a community college s courses.

Best Deals on Airfare? Community Discussion Forums #i #travel

#best airfare deals
#

A great place to check for flights is Kayak

I pulled this off another website I look at. This guy has a good rep for travel.

Quote:

Without a doubt, the best resource for comparing flights is www.kayak.com But keep in mind that Kayak does not list no frills providers such as Southwest Airlines or Jet Blue in their searches. It is advantageous for you to explore all of your options before making a purchase.

There are ways to save even more money on what s being shown on Kayak. A simple way to do this is to look for one-way flights to your destination. In some cases, you can save a lot of money by taking one airline for your departure and another for your return. For example, I went to Vegas a few years ago for a friend s wedding. The round-trip price was $345 for the dates I was looking for. I found a $99 fare on Southwest Airlines for my departure and a $130 flight on Frontier for my return. In the end, I saved over $100 by breaking up my itinerary. Along these lines, it is generally cheaper to take flights that have a layover or stopover (Land, but don t get off the plane). If the difference in price is nominal, you will have to decide where your time/money is best spent. If there are several airports in the immediate area, such as cities like New York or Washington D.C. look into flying into one airport and out of another to save some money.

Before booking a flight with an airline directly, always check to see if there are any current promo codes floating around. One way to do this is to run a Google search for (Insert airline) promo code . Most of these codes will be for 5% – 10% off but every once in a while you will score a nice find. A few months ago American Airlines offered a week-long promo for their Facebook friends that allowed for a 25% off code for tickets $300 or more. My $330 ticket became a $247 ticket as a result of running a simple search. The downside with promo codes is that they are always user submitted. Some of them only work with certain restrictions. (I.E. You must be employed at a certain company, going to a particular destination, use a certain credit card to purchase your ticket, etc.) This site is useful, but always try out the codes before getting too excited because they are not efficient in removing expired deals: http://www.retailmenot.com You will need to type the airline s URL address into the search bar. (I.E. www.aa.com for American Airlines)

If you cannot find a discount, check the airline s website for special promotions going on. You can sometimes earn increased miles or incentives for your purchase. In most cases, you can freely transfer miles earned on a partner airline to your current frequent flier account in full. (Ex: If you fly on Delta you can bank your miles into your Continental Airlines account) If you have to pay retail for your flight, at least try to get a consolation prize. It is generally cheaper to purchase your airfare on Tuesdays or Wednesdays for many airlines because this is the day that they release their sales. (Read purchase, not necessarily travel on those dates) This is in general and not a standard.

eBay and Craigslist offer a few lesser traveled roads to get good deals. The average price for a Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Voucher (aka free flight) is $275. (You can probably find them cheaper on Craigslist) If you are traveling cross-country, and in a close time frame, this is probably going to be less than what you can find through the traditional methods. But be wary and only buy from reputable sellers with good feedback. Also ensure that your desired travel dates are not blacked out by the airline before you purchase. (You can check this by making an award reservation on the Airline s website or calling them directly) With some airlines, the seller must make the reservation for you through their personal account which they can alter at will. Since selling a voucher is not looked upon kindly by the airlines, there is little recourse from being swindled. And even if you can recover your money, you now have no airline reservation. Purchasing miles to add to your existing account is much safer. However, realize that you will be paying a fee through the airline for the transfer in addition to your bid unless it is specifically stated in the auction. Never, under any circumstances, buy a travel voucher that says that you can choose your dates based on availability after the purchase. If the deal looks to good to be true, it probably is.

If you do take a flight, and have some flexibility in your travel schedule, ask the front desk if your flight is oversold. If it is, you can elect to take a later flight in exchange for an airline voucher. (This is called getting bumped ) Coming back from New York, I used this method with Northwest Airlines to find out that they were in fact oversold and going to ask for volunteers to give up their seat. I was re-booked on American Airlines, given a direct flight instead of a layover in Memphis, got into DFW at an earlier time and received a voucher that allowed $250 off my next reservation or a free flight anywhere in the lower 48 states and Canada. The drawback with this is that your luggage will probably not be transferred with you and will arrive when your original flight does.

Perhaps the best piece of advice that I can give you is this: Book early. There is always a chance that airlines will have sales, but booking early will almost always give you the best deal. If the fares drop after you have made a purchase, some airlines will refund you the difference if you contact them about it. If you find a good deal, book it ASAP. Chances are that it will not be there tomorrow. Airlines only allot a few seats on a flight for a discount price. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. Prices usually do not go anywhere but up.

Virginia Western Community College – Celebrating 50 Years

Beginnings.

Per legislation, effective July 1, 1966, Roanoke Technical Institute (RTI) of Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech) and the Roanoke Center of the School of General Studies of the University of Virginia merged and became Community College of Roanoke. That summer, under the leadership of President Dr. Travis McKenzie, programs and faculty combined and began fall quarter classes with an enrollment of 1,352 students.

During the first year of operating, the college was renamed Virginia Western Community College. In 1968, the first true class of Virginia Western students graduated.

Growth and Expansion

By 1970, new coursework in nursing, data processing, commercial art and traffic/transportation management were created in addition to existing engineering, business and liberal arts curricula. Student enrollment continued to increase and temporary classrooms were moved to campus. Still new in concept, campus was bustling with activity and students brought in events to form community and shape the school’s identity such as crowning a Miss Virginia Western, dances, and campus art shows outside.

“I have no doubt that VWCC was instrumental in my career success. Your college gave me a solid foundation in Electronics Engineering (I finished my AS degree there in Spring of 1980), and I was able to transfer to Old Dominion University and received my Bachelors degree in the Spring of 1982 without missing a beat, VWCC prepared me very well for the transition to that institution!!”
– Thomas W. “Tom” Richardson, Ph.D.
University of Virginia Staff, Systems and Information Engineering (SIE) Dept.

Increasing Access and Preparing for the Future

Virginia Western Community College continued to expand access of its services and options for its students and the development of the community in terms of physical growth, workforce support, transfer to four-year colleges and the launch of a program further removing financial barriers to obtaining a college education.

Similar to a half-century ago, another call-to-action was asked in the 2010s. Fifty years ago a knowledge gap was identified as the United States raced to compete as a technologically advanced nation. This time it is to close the skills gap. In this decade, Governor Terry McAuliffe identified a gap in high-demand jobs skills and called for a significant increase in workforce credentials to be awarded in Virginia in STEM-H (science, technology, electronics, math and healthcare).

“I was a first generation college attendee and graduate. I barely graduated from high school but VWCC is where I found what I love and I was exposed to wonderful people who taught me and inspired me. Even now, when I interact with my students, I want them to like and love me the way I did Ann, Paula, and Marty.”
– Misty L. Mesimer, RDH, MSCH, CDA
Dental Assisting Program Director, Dental Hygiene Program Local Coordinator
Germanna Community College

August 22 is Virginia Western Community College Day!

Now, Therefore, I, Sherman P. Lea, Sr. Mayor of the City of Roanoke, Virginia, recognize and commend Dr. Robert H. Sandel, President of Virginia Western Community College, along with the College’s many outstanding faculty, staff, students, alumni and supporters, and do hereby proclaim August 22, 2016, throughout this great All-American City, as “Virginia Western Community College Day.”

– Sherman P. Lea, Sr.
Mayor, City of Roanoke, Virginia

The Gay – Lesbian Community Center Center #community #college #in #cincinnati

Dear Friends of the Gay Lesbian Community Center of Greater, Inc.

Today, the Board takes a bold step for the future of our organization by becoming a “virtual” on-line Center, engaging in grant making to local GLBTQ groups, and shuttering its physical location in Northside.

We are a private foundation; our primary funding source remains the ever popular Pride Night at Kings Island . After the physical premises close on November 9, 2013, please continue to visit www.cincyglbt.com for updates.

Our first grant for 2014 was made to the Cincinnati Pride ( www.cincinnatpride.org ) for $5,000.00. The Center makes this grant to double the amount of time (two months) and the double the number of street banners (32) in downtown Cincinnati to promote Cincinnati Gay Pride.

We must evolve with the times. It is our desire to continue supporting the local communities by returning even more value through this change.

Here’s a recap of our vision:

We will continue:

Maintaining and enhancing our web site at

We will develop/announce:

  1. An application process and guidelines in the new year for your group/organization to apply for funding from the Gay Lesbian Community Center of Greater Cincinnati.
  2. Determine a public location for our annual meeting.
  3. Develop the best way to enlist volunteers to continue to support our functions and develop new leadership.

We are changing to adapt to the current situation and make our practices consistent with the actual utilization of our resources all while returning more value to the communities that access us!

The Board of Directors 2013

Rusty Lockett, President;

John Maddux, Vice-President;

Ashley Brazil, Secretary;

Hanna Smith, Treasurer;

Men in this program are gainfully employed during the day and work on substance abuse treatment, education and vocation courses at night. Community Release inmates are required to pay subsistence for room and board which saves taxpayers money. Inmates also make court-ordered payments, send money home for family support and are required to set money aside for savings upon their release. Our substance abuse treatment, diverse courses and value-added services teach problem solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution and recovery maintenance skills. The program offerings at each facility vary to best meet the needs of the persons served.
