The Real Cost of Travel in Thailand #uniglobe #travel

Tips From the Banker: The Real Cost of Travel in Thailand

I spent two months traveling in Thailand, making it my longest-traveled country on my Southeast Asian itinerary.   During my three weeks in Laos and month in Cambodia. I found it possible to travel on an average of just USD$30 per day.  Once I got to Thailand, however, keeping costs low became difficult.  For some reason, I started spending Baht like it was monopoly money, especially in the islands.

I had heard previously, and can now confirm, that the north of Thailand is easy on a tight budget.  As one moves south, costs for accommodation start to double, triple, and even quadruple.  Pricey accommodation accounted for my biggest expenditure, and drinks came in at a close second.

However, when I considered my overall expenditure, I realized that the costs were still very reasonable, especially considering that I was in Thailand during high season, including Christmas and New Years.

My average daily budget for Thailand ended up at $45/day.  Here is the breakdown:

    Accommodation:

Back in Laos, I distinctly remember stressing about spending $6.25 per day on a private bungalow in 4000 Islands.  For the same accommodation in Bottle Beach on Koh Phangan, I was paying double.  The most I paid for a room in Thailand was $20, completely blowing my budget, considering I often found $2 accommodation in Cambodia.

That said, I was able to find decent and cheap dorms in Chiang Mai and Pai in northern Thailand for a mere $3-$4 nightly.

Check out my post on my favorite hostels in Thailand for great budget options.

    Transportation:

Busses and trains were completely reasonable in price, especially the non-VIP options, ranging from $3 to $9 for a bus journey.

My main transport issue was tuk-tuks and cabs.  As a solo traveler, I often had to foot the entire bill.  I found that in Laos and Cambodia, tuk-tuks would haggle.  In Thailand, they preferred to wait until another tourist came along who would pay the asking price.  Given that they re trying to run a business themselves, I can t fault them for this.  However, it made it hard as a solo traveler to save my money.

Tip: when possible, take motorbike taxis as they are the cheapest option.  Always at least try to haggle, and don t take a taxi that isn t in a queue.  If someone walks up to you, s/he is probably going to quote an outlandish rate.

When possible (which may only be in Bangkok) take taxis who agree to run their meters.

The food in Thailand is fantastic and very cheap.  One can easily eat at a night market, sampling several different eats, for just a few dollars.  Generally, prices are not negotiable and the asking price should be paid.  Prices run from around USD$1 for  a dish like vegetarian pad thai, to $3 for a soup with beverage and rice, or $6 for fresh fish.

Where Thailand gets expensive is alcoholic beverages.  In Laos and Cambodia, beer runs about USD$1.  In Thailand, however, $3 and higher per drink is quite typical.  Cutting alcohol from your budget in Thailand could literally save hundreds.

Cheap vs. Expensive Places in Thailand

Chiang Mai, Pai. Chiang Rai. and other northern cities will tend to be very cheap, with costs increasing as one heads south, especially to the islands.

Also consider time of year.  High season (December through March) means double the prices for accommodation in most places in Southeast Asia.  Thailand is no different.

    Other incidentals:

SIM cards are very cheap in Thailand.  I paid only $20 (with DTAC a Thai carrier) for 3 gigs of 3G over the span of one month.  What s more, service was great.

Massages are also cheap, generally costing around $6 for a full hour.

In general, Thailand can be very cheap to visit, especially during low season and in the north of the country.  Even in the south, considering the beautiful beaches and truly delicious eats, Thailand is still a great budget destination.

    Williams Surgical Rejuva Center #faqs, #questions, #answers, #cost, #plastic #surgery, #recovery,

Williams Surgical Rejuva Center in Albany, NY

    What is a Rejuva Center?

There are several innovative beauty breakthroughs that can rejuvenate the face instantly and affordably without the risks and downtime of surgery. The Williams Rejuva Center offers these innovations to reduce wrinkles improve your skin and beautifully reshape your face in one simple office treatment that can last for 6 months or longer.

The Williams Rejuva Center assures clinical excellence under the direction of Dr. Edwin Williams. We offer convenient scheduling, efficient, courteous service and follow-up care, and all in a private and secure setting.

    Understanding Minimally Invasive Procedures

Minimally invasive procedures are those that require little or no downtime. The Williams Rejuva Center offers a number of minimally invasive procedures including BOTOX®. Restylane. Juvederm, Sculprta, Radiesse. medicated skin creams, medical facial peels, laser treatments, and skin rejuvenation programs .

While BOTOX® Cosmetic act to relax the muscles and smooth lines, Juvederm. Restylane and Radiesse act to plump up or fill in lines. Medicated creams, medical facial peels, and Lite Touch laser treatments are all scientifically proven to stimulate collagen production. As we age, we lose collagen, so why not stimulate it!

BOTOX® Cosmetic and the new state-of-the-art dermal fillers, such as Restylane and Radiesse. have transformed the war against wrinkles. It s all about technique. They are used in creative ways to compliment each other. BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to minimize wrinkles in the forehead, around the eyes, upper lips and mouth. Restylane and Radiesse are used to restore a more youthful appearance by enhancing the size and shape of your lip and by countering the downward sagging that occurs with aging. These products are combined for a nonsurgical lift that is ideal for patients who want a viable and safe alternative to surgery.

Medicated skin creams that contain Trentenoin (Retin-A) are scientifically proven to stimulate collagen production. The Williams Rejuva Center makes these creams available to our patients. We have found that, in the past, many patients have not been properly instructed on the use of these medicated creams. Our highly trained Cosmetic Nurse Specialists are here to teach you how to apply these creams to obtain their maximum benefits. Dr. Edwin Williams feels that most patients benefit from Tretinoin, and has formulated this ingredient into products with a creamier less irritating base. These products stimulate collagen, lighten brown spots, and are to be used in conjunction with the cleansers and moisturizers that are recommended by your esthetician. If you are not currently working with an esthetician, the Cosmetic Nurse Specialist would be happy to refer you to someone.

Medical facial peels are also proven to stimulate collagen. Increased collagen production helps tighten the skin and smooth out lines. The surface layer of old skin peels off and a new layer of skin is revealed. Then, medicated creams and moisturizers are able to penetrate the new cells more effectively. These peels are also effective for pigmentation irregularities and help to even out skin tone. These peels usually require a 3 day recovery period.

Lite Touch laser treatments also stimulate collagen and are effective in the treatment of rosacea and spider veins. The Willliams Rejuva Center s laser was scientifically proven to stimulate the production of collagen in a study conducted by Dr. Edwin Williams, the findings of his study were published in the Facial Plastic Surgery Archives magazine in 2001. These laser treatments will affect the color, texture, and tone of your skin, giving you a brighter more youthful look.

The Williams Rejuva Center s 6-month skin rejuvenation program incorporates treatments that stimulate collagen, improve hyper pigmentation problems (brown spots), and erase redness or spider veins. It improves skin texture, tone and color. This program offers two medicated peels, four Lite Touch laser treatments, medicated creams, and a basic skin care regime to maintain your beautiful results. The Williams Rejuva Center also offers a maintenance package of four full face smoothbeam laser treatments for after the 6 month program, please feel free to call the Williams Rejuva Center for more information.

Your credit report may be full of derogatories, such as charge-offs, collections, tax liens, or late payments, compounded with a history of foreclosure and bankruptcy. However, you may still get a loan for home purchase, refinance, or even cash out of your current home as long as you can meet the specific guidelines for loan approval by a multitude of lenders specialized in the credit-damaged borrower.

Banking general industry guidelines help a lender to make a judgment on the borrower’s loan application. However, there are no hard-and-fast rules of separating the borrower on the border line between one credit category and another. Compromising variations between one lender to the next depends on the degree of subjectivity involved in underwriting and how much each lender wants to commit their funds.

Typical lenders in the market of credit-damaged borrowers usually lend only up to 80% of the appraised value of the home, so the borrower often has to have 20% equity or come up with a 20% down payment for a purchase.

A-minus and B-credit borrowers are often allowed to allocate 50% of their income to pay for combined monthly debt (compared to the standard 36% guideline used for A credit borrowers), while the bottom rung of the credit ladder can be stretched to 55%. As for proof of income, some lenders do have Stated or No Income programs, which do not require tax returns, W-2s, or pay stubs. In these cases the loan to value ratio will be limited to 60-70%, and the minimum credit score required is around 700.

They were thousands less than the competition, did everything they said they would do, and did not ask for payment until the job was done. My system works great, and I would not work with anyone else.”

What is the average real estate commission in Ontario? #average #cost

    #

What is the average real estate commission in Ontario?

Pretty much everybody knows the answer to this question.

    • Your friend who just sold their house knows.
    • Your favourite news site knows.
    • Your uncle the contractor knows.
    • There are 37,000 agents in Toronto and they know, as do the 58,000 agents in Ontario.

    Everybody knows the answer.

The answer is 5%. Wait, no, it’s 4%. Well, around here we pay about 6%. Actually, it’s 3.5%. No, no, for sure it’s just over 4%.

    Everybody knows the answer.

Unfortunately, everybody has a different answer.

So what’s the right answer? Who do you trust when you have all these conflicting answers?

    Who actually knows the answer?

I am pleased to say that I know the answer.

As of today, February 4, 2014, the average real estate commission in Ontario is shoot, I knew this. It s uh damn. Time to tell the truth I guess. I don t actually know.

I can see you shaking your head. Some real estate agent you are Jeff, if you don’t even know the average real estate commission in Ontario. Isn’t that your pay? Wouldn’t that be of interest to you?

I understand the frustration, I really do. If it helps, I can tell you the average real estate commission for my selling clients in 2013. It was 5%. Every single one of them paid a commission of 2.5% to me as the listing agent and 2.5% as commission to the purchasing agent.

That’s not a guess, or an estimate, or somehow based on anecdotal evidence. It’s a fact. I know it for sure.

When it comes to the average for Ontario though, I don’t know for sure. I know you expected an answer so I will give you an answer.

My answer is somewhere between 4% to 5%. Is that a fact? Absolutely not.

I base my answer on my own experiences, my perception of what impact discount listings have had on the market (limited, by the way) and my discussions with hundreds of agents about commission.

My answer is informed by my work as a full time Realtor, but make no mistake, it’s not the answer.

Why don’t I know the answer? Well, I could blame it on government rules, the economy, the great ice storm of 2013, but in truth, I don’t know the answer because nobody does.

In order to give us the answer, we need to know how much the listing agent got paid and how much the buying agent got paid and we need to know it for every transaction in Ontario.

It’s actually easy enough to see what buying agents get paid. Every listing on MLS has a mandatory field that the listing agent fills in with the commission the seller is willing to pay.

While there are variations depending on what time period you are looking at, what type of home or what area, you can ask for the average buying agent commission and get the answer. Give a good agent a little bit of time to look into it and he or she could absolutely tell you fun facts like:

    • There were 191 detached homes sold in Brampton in December of 2013. 172 of these 191 sales offered 2.5% plus HST. So about 90% offered 2.5% plus HST. Nine of the houses offered more than 2.5% and the other nine offered less than 2.5%.
    • There were 68 duplexes sold in Toronto in all of 2013. 59 of these 68 sales offered 2.5% plus HST. So about 87% offered 2.5% plus HST. Two of the duplexes offered more than 2.5% and the other seven offered less than 2.5%.

This data for the purchasing agent’s commission is available and a good agent can tell you exactly what is going on here so you can make an informed decision.

It is the other half of the data we need, on the listing side, that poses the problem.

Unlike the commission paid to the buying agent, the commission paid to the listing agent isn’t a field that is required to be filled out on MLS. It doesn’t even exist as a field, actually. This information is known to only three parties.

They decide how much of a commission they are willing to pay their agent to list their home. Every real estate transaction that uses a real estate agent signs a listing agreement, and this listing agreement says it in black and white.

    2. The Listing Agent knows.

He or she is the one who does a listing presentation for the Seller. He or she explains why they should be hired, what they would do for the Seller, and how much of a commission they charge. When the Seller signs that listing agreement, that agent knows exactly how much they will be paid when they sell the house.

    3. The Listing Real Estate Brokerage knows.

The first field that is filled in on the listing agreement is the brokerage for which the listing agent works. Brokerages are responsible for ensuring that all transactions, funds and paperwork are handled in accordance with the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, as well as any other laws, rules and regulations. They receive and then remit funds to the listing agent after any splits on commissions are applied.

These three parties (the Seller, the Listing Agent and the Listing Brokerage) are the only ones who know how much the listing agent is paid in commission.

Individual sellers are obviously not getting together to share that data anytime soon and neither are individual agents. Listing brokerages could in theory ask all their franchises to provide that data in order to aggregate it and find the average, but to my knowledge, none of them do.

Even if they did, it would only show what sellers pay who hire Keller Williams Realty agents, or Re/Max or Royal LePage, etc. I happen to think Keller Williams’ agents are the best agents in business, so I wouldn’t be surprised if sellers paid more for that expertise and skill.

This leaves us pretty close to where we started. Namely, that there is no definitive answer to the question of what the average real estate commission is in Ontario.

This is a real shame, as it’s an important question. If you are planning on selling your home, interviewing agents and trying to make a choice between them, you need to know what’s normal to pay for their help. No one likes the thought of being taken advantage of and we all want to compare our cost against others to make sure that isn’t happening.

Given the difficulty in comparing realtor fees, I suggest you keep two things in mind that will make the decision process easier.

Firstly. when you hire a realtor to sell your home, remember you aren’t buying a product. You’re hiring a service.

We all know that products can reasonably be expected to be similar. Not identical, but pretty damn close. If you buy a pair of scissors, you know it will cut paper.

Services, on the other hand, can vary wildly. If you need your house painted and you hire a professional painter, the service they provide is hopefully tidy, thorough and high quality. If you hire your friends with the promise of pizza and beer afterwards, your house will still be painted, but probably more of it than you wanted.

Compare the service each realtor is offering against what commission they are charging and you will find it far easier to make your decision. A good agent does so much more than fill out a form on MLS and tell you where to sign an offer. Ask a good agent what they do for you and then sit back and get comfy, because they will be talking for a while.

After you interview agents, make your decision based on what is most important to you, not simply on the commission rate they charge.

Secondly. you now know that there is no such thing as the average real estate commission in Ontario, and this is powerful information.

No one can second guess your choice of a realtor and the commission charged with comments about how the average is “actually much lower than what you paid.” They don’t know that. They can’t. They are misquoting, mistaken or flat out making it up.

Knowing this makes it easier to focus less on what other people are paying or have paid and instead on finding the realtor that is the right fit for you and your needs.

If you are considering selling your home, I hope this helped shed some light onto the murky world of real estate commissions. If you know someone who is considering selling their home, please pass on this article to them.

As always, if you or anyone you know are considering buying, selling or investing in real estate, please get in touch so we can discuss how I can help. I would love to be responsible for what comes next.

Dry R22 Condenser Replace Air Conditioner- Cost and Benefits #cost #to

    #

Cost Benefit of Buying a Dry R22 Condenser for your Air Conditioner

    By: Brian Schutt | June 13, 2012

Perhaps you ve been unlucky enough to have your air conditioning system go out. And either the repair is so expensive or the age of your system is so old that you re ready to replace it, you may have had a company propose replacing your condenser with a Dry R22 outdoor condenser.

Understanding R22 and Current Government Regulations

A little background before diving into the cost-benefit of this option. According the Montreal Protocol, which was agreed upon by the US in 1987, there is a mandatory phase out of certain products whose emissions were deemed harmful to the environment. In the US, the protocol was put into law through the Clean Air Act, and is implemented by the EPA. The law requires a phase out of R22 as a refrigerant.

R22 is more commonly known as freon. It was used in most air conditioning systems until the regulation was placed upon manufacturers. The important dates to note for homeowners:

    • 2010 manufacturers were required to cease production of R22 loaded air conditioner systems
    • 2020 manufacturing of R22 must end.

As a byproduct of the required move to more environmentally friendly refrigerants, R22 based equipment is being forced into obsolescence.

So, back to your estimate for a Dry R22 condenser.

Your indoor evaporator coil is working just fine. Your copper lines connecting the two pieces of A/C equipment is intact and not leaking, but your condenser needs to be replaced. The cost of replacing the whole system with R410a based equipment seems too pricey right now. So you d prefer to use that existing equipment that s working just fine.

As you weigh your options, this is what I tell our customers to consider, and what you alone must decide. While your initial investment in this Dry R22 condenser may save you $1-$2,000, we continue to see parts for R22 based equipment rise and fewer systems are manufactured. Less supply = greater price to you.

Similarly, with the required ending of production of R22 itself, the cost of the refrigerant is rising faster than gold. This year alone production will be cut in half, and will continue to decline until ending completely in 8 years. Again the laws of supply and demand are at play, and with freon now retailing to consumers at $75-$125 per pound. there s no telling how high it could get in 10 years.

The bottom line, you know your capacity for this investment. Factor that in with how long you plan to be in the home. We just want to provide an honest assessment of the potential long term costs of making this move, so you re not surprised as the years go by.

How Much Does Life Insurance Cost? Get Average Price #what #is

    #

    Life Insurance Cost

The first two questions most people ask when they look into life insurance coverage are very often: “How much will it cost?” and “How much do I need?” Life insurance costs can be a challenge to calculate because there are several types of life insurance, including whole life, universal life and term life insurance. The cost of life insurance is unique to each individual and depends on the type of policy you choose, the amount of coverage you want, and factors such as your age and overall health.

Comparing online life insurance rates can be a good way to get an idea of what you might pay in premiums. But to get a customized plan that fully meets your needs and budget, it is a good idea to work directly with an agent. For detailed answers and a review of your situation, contact an independent agent in the Trusted Choice ® network who specializes in life insurance. An local member agent in your area can help you evaluate your options and provide a customized quote.

Factors That Affect Your Life Insurance Costs

    • Age: Overall, life insurance rates increase as you age.
    • Health profile: Do you have any chronic conditions? Do you smoke?
    • Gender: Women live longer, statistically, and typically pay lower life insurance costs.
    • Occupation: Receptionist? Machine operator? Sky diving instructor? Yes, it matters.
    • Exams: “No exam” life insurance quotes are available, but are typically more expensive.

To look at some average life insurance rates, we will review several scenarios. Why? Because the average cost of life insurance for a 30 year old male who smokes is very different from the average cost for a 30 year old female with a clean bill of health. To illustrate the range of costs associated with life insurance, the following section will give some hypothetical scenarios for you to think about before you buy a plan.

The Average Cost of Whole Life Insurance

The following average costs were calculated using the following assumptions:

    1. The individuals are a healthy weight and do not live a hazardous lifestyle.
    2. They want $500,000 worth of life insurance.
    3. They want monthly “level pay” (same payments for the duration of the policy).

The average costs will differ when any of the variables change. For example, a 35 year old female nonsmoker would pay an average of $731.57 if she wanted 1,000,000 worth of whole life insurance or about $188.36 for $250,000 worth of whole life insurance.

The Average Cost of Term Life Insurance

The following average costs were calculated using these assumptions:

    1. The individuals are a healthy weight and do not live a hazardous lifestyle.
    2. They want $500,000 worth of life insurance.
    3. They want to pay monthly for a 20-year term policy.

Again, the average costs will differ when any of these variables change. For example, a 35 year-old female nonsmoker would pay an average of $61 per month for $1,000,000 worth of life insurance with a 20-year term, and $23.90 per month for $250,000 worth of life insurance with a 20-year term.

Does Life Insurance Cost More in Certain Regions of the U.S.?

There can be some differences in your life insurance costs, depending upon your state and region. Life insurance companies use “mortality tables” to help predict the benefits they are likely to pay in a given year. Why? Because the amount they collect in premiums must be less than what they pay out in benefits, and these actuarial tables ensure that they will not end up in a deficit.

Some factors that may be taken into account to calculate your life insurance costs in your region include:

    • Whether there is a high rate of obesity in your state or region
    • If the area experiences a high rate of deadly natural disasters, such as earthquakes
    • If the region is prone to certain diseases, such as black lung disease typical in miners
    • If the state or region has a high mortality rate due to crime
    • How many policies have been written in that area

Even with these factors taken into consideration, rates do not typically vary significantly from region to region. For example, if you live in an area prone to earthquakes and high crime, your life insurance rates will be affected more by your age and personal health profile than where you choose to live.

How to Lower Your Life Insurance Costs

Because health and lifestyle play a key role in determining your life insurance rates, the key things you can do to lower your payments have to do with improving your health and reducing your risk of chronic conditions like diabetes or cancer. Being a non-smoker is perhaps the most critical choice you can make to reduce your life insurance rates, but there are many more things you can do as well.

    • Maintain a healthy weight to reduce the risk of obesity and related chronic conditions.
      • Get a body mass index (BMI) check done
      • If you have a high BMI, work with a health professional to lose excess weight
    • Maintain your heart health to reduce the risk of hypertension, heart attack and stroke.
      • Get an annual physical
      • Regularly check your blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels
      • Work with a health professional to improve your numbers, if needed
      • Reduce stress, improve your diet and increase exercise
    • Manage your blood sugar to reduce the risk of diabetes.
      • Request a blood sugar test
      • Obtain a diet and exercise plan to help manage blood sugar levels

In addition to assessing your overall health, most life insurance companies will also review your risk of death from a high risk sport or work related accident. Cost of Auto Crashes & Statistics

The highest price we pay for car crashes is in the loss of human lives, however society also bears the brunt of the many costs associated with motor vehicle accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA ), U.S. motor vehicle crashes in 2010 cost almost $1 trillion in loss of productivity and loss of life. The study was released in May 2014. The auto industry’s steady improvements in vehicle safety over the last several decades despite a litany of safety recalls had driven down the number of roadway deaths to an all-time low of 32,675 in 2014.

NHTSA reports the number of people killed on the road in the U.S. soared 7.2% to 35,092 in 2015, marking the deadliest year on the road since 2008. Though the increase was widely expected after NHTSA last month revealed a preliminary estimate of a 7.7% increase, the official figure solidifies 2015’s dubious distinction as the first year-over-year increase since 2012. In addition, roadway deaths of pedestrians and cyclists hit a two-decade high in 2015.

New findings from the Insurance Research Council’s (IRC) Auto Injury Insurance Claims Study shows that medical expenses reported by auto injury claimants continue to increase faster than the rate of inflation, in spite of the fact that the severity of the injuries themselves remain on a downward trend. From 2007 to 2012, average claimed economic losses (which include expenses for medical care, lost wages and other out-of-pocket expenditures) grew 8 percent annualized among personal injury protection (PIP) claimants. Among bodily injury (BI) claimants, average claimed losses grew 4 percent. Over the same period, measures such as the percentage of claimants who had no visible injuries at the accident scene or who had fewer than 10 days in which they were unable to perform their usual daily activities provided evidence of a continuing decline in the severity of injuries.

    • In 2013, the average auto liability claim for property damage was $3,231; the average auto liability claim for bodily injury was $15,443 (ISO. a Verisk Analytics company).
    • In 2013, the average collision claim was $3,144; the average comprehensive claim was $1,621 (ISO. a Verisk Analytics company).

Private insurers pay approximately 50% of all motor vehicle crash costs. Individual crash victims pay about 26%, while third parties such as uninvolved motorists delayed in traffic, charities and health care providers pay about 14%. Federal revenues account for 6%, while state and local municipalities pick up about 3%. Overall, those not directly involved in crashes pay for nearly three-quarters of all crash costs, primarily through insurance premiums, taxes and travel delay (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ).

    Crash Type & Driver Behavior

In 2013 there were 5,687,000 police-reported motor vehicle traffic crashes, 32,719 people died in motor vehicle crashes, down 3.1 percent from 33,782 in 2012. Of total crashes in 2013, 1,591,000 caused injuries and 4,066,000 caused property damage only.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates about 10 million or more crashes go unreported each year.

Alcohol-Related Crashes: In 2013, 10,076 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes (any fatal crash involving a driver with a blood-alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08 percent or higher), down 2.5 percent from 10,336 in 2012. Of the persons who were killed in traffic crashes in 2013, 31 percent died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes. In 2010, drunk driving alone accounted for 18% of the total economic loss from motor vehicle crashes, costing the economy as much as $199 billion in direct and quality-of-life losses (NHTSA ).

Speeding: According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2013, 9,613 lives were lost due to speed-related accidents, down 6.9 percent from 10,329 in 2012. NHTSA says that speed-related crashes cost Americans $40.4 billion each year (NHTSA ).

    • Speeding was a contributing factor in 29 percent of all fatal crashes in 2013.
    • In 2013 about 35 percent of both 15 to 20-year-old and 21 to 24-year old male drivers who were involved in fatal crashes were speeding at the time of the crash.
    • Red Light Running: The IIHS says that more than 900 people a year die and nearly 2,000 are injured as a result of vehicles running red lights. About half of those deaths are pedestrians and occupants of other vehicles who are hit by red light runners.

    • Fatigue: A study by the AAA Traffic Safety Foundation found that 37 percent of drivers report having fallen asleep behind the wheel at some point in their lives. An estimated 21 percent of fatal crashes, 13 percent of crashes resulting in severe injury and 6 percent of all crashes, involve a drowsy driver, according to a 2014 study by the AAA. Results of a November 2013 AAA survey showed that 28.3 percent of licensed drivers age 16 or older said that in the past 30 days they had driven when they were so tired that they had a hard time keeping their eyes open.
    • Distracted Driving: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gauges distracted driving by collecting data on “distraction-affected crashes,” which focuses on distractions that are most likely to affect crash involvement such as dialing a cellphone or texting and being distracted by another person or an outside event. In 2013, 3,154 people were killed in distraction-affected crashes, and 424,000 people were injured. There were 2,910 distraction-affected fatal crashes, accounting for 10 percent of all fatal crashes in the nation, 18 percent of injury crashes and 16 percent of all motor vehicle crashes in 2013 (NHTSA ).
    • Cell Phone Use: In April 2014, NHTSA released the results of the latest National Occupant Protection Use Survey (NOPUS), which found that in 2012, 1.5 percent of drivers were text-messaging or visibly manipulating hand-held devices, up from 1.3 percent in 2011. NHTSA says that the 2012 increase was not statistically significant. Driver use of hand-held cellphones was 5 percent in 2012 for the fourth year running. Hand-held cellphone use was highest among 16- to 24-year olds (6 percent in 2012) and lowest among drivers 70 and older (1 percent in 2012).

      • A State Farm study released in late 2012 found that among drivers age 18 to 29, almost half (48 percent) accessed the Internet on a cell phone while driving. One-third of those drivers (36 percent) read social media networks while driving. Almost half of those drivers (43 percent) checked their email while driving. Other age groups engaged in these activities less frequently.
    • In 2013, 32,719 people died in motor vehicle crashes, down 3.1 percent from 33,782 in 2012, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
    • 605 people were killed in crashes on Colorado roads in 2015; an increase of 24% over 2014. (http://kdvr.com/2017/01/31/cdot-reports-sharp-increase-in-traffic-fatalities-in-2016/)
    • A motor vehicle death occurred on average every 16 minutes in 2013.
    • About 90 people died each day in motor vehicle crashes in 2013.

    Injuries

    • Injuries in motor vehicle crashes have been declining over the past few years:

      • 2003: 2.89 million injuries
      • 2004: 2.79 million injuries
      • 2006: 2.54 million injuries
      • 2008: 2.35 million injuries
      • 2009: 2.22 million injuries
      • 2010: 2.24 million injuries
      • 2011: 2.21 million injuries
      • 2012: 2.36 million injuries
      • 2013: 2.31 million injuries
    • In 2013, 6,337 people were injured each day in motor vehicle crashes.
    • A motor vehicle injury occured on average every 14 seconds in 2013.

    Cost Accounting Systems

A cost accounting system (also called product costing system or costing system) is a framework used by firms to estimate the cost of their products for profitability analysis, inventory valuation and cost control.

Estimating the accurate cost of products is critical for profitable operations. A firm must know which products are profitable and which ones are not, and this can be ascertained only when it has estimated the correct cost of the product. Further, a product costing system helps in estimating the closing value of materials inventory, work-in-progress and finished goods inventory for the purpose of financial statement preparation.

There are two main cost accounting systems: the job order costing and the process costing.

Job order costing is a cost accounting system that accumulates manufacturing costs separately for each job. It is appropriate for firms that are engaged in production of unique products and special orders. For example, it is the costing accounting system most appropriate for an event management company, a niche furniture producer, a producer of very high cost air surveillance system, etc.

Process costing is a cost accounting system that accumulates manufacturing costs separately for each process. It is appropriate for products whose production is a process involving different departments and costs flow from one department to another. For example, it is the cost accounting system used by oil refineries, chemical producers, etc.

There are situations when a firm uses a combination of features of both job-order costing and process costing, in what is called hybrid cost accounting system .

In a cost accounting system, cost allocation is carried out based on either traditional costing system or activity-based costing system.

Traditional costing system calculates a single overhead rate and applies it to each job or in each department.

Activity-based costing on the other hand, involves calculation of activity rate and application of overhead costs to products based on their respective activity usage.

Based on whether the fixed manufacturing overheads are charged to products or not, cost accounting systems have two variations: variable costing and absorption costing. Variable costing allocates only variable manufacturing overheads to inventories, while absorption costing allocates both variable and fixed manufacturing overheads to products. Variable costing calculates contribution margin, while absorption costing calculates the relevant gross profit.

Still further refinement to costing accounting systems include JIT-costing, back-flush costing.

Closing Cost Calculator, refinance home no closing cost.#Refinance #home #no #closing

    Closing Cost Calculator

Buying a home? Expect to find mortgage fees and closing costs. You’re going to pay. A lot. But how? What’s the best way? Pay them all now. or a little bit at a time? Are you really always better off paying them out of pocket today? What are my options, and how will they work out for me?

For FHA or VA borrowers, upfront costs like the first year’s mortgage insurance premium or funding fee can be included in the loan amount. In all cases, though, the question remains: “Is it better to pay closing costs and fees out of pocket, finance them into the loan amount, or trade them for a higher interest rate?” There’s no one simple answer, since each choice has its own benefits and total costs over time. One may be more or less expensive depending upon how long you’ll hold onto the mortgage. And yes, even a “no-cost” mortgage choice will have costs!

You can’t escape running into the puzzle of proper “asset allocation.” You’ll need to decide how best to use your limited funds to cover a down payment and the fees and costs associated with getting your new mortgage. Even if all three methods aren’t available to you, you’ll usually need to compare at least two options.

HSH.com’s FeePay BestWay calculator will allow you to run the numbers for a t raditional method of paying those costs out-of-pocket against h igher loan balance or even no-cost choices to help you see how the costs of each will work for you over time. Fill in the information once and compare the costs or savings the other choices might bring.

The Traditional Method calculator assumes you pay the closing costs out of pocket today. We assume that typical fees will be approximately 2 points (2 percent of the loan amount) but if they are more or less you can change it; just type the expected total dollar amount into the yellow box.

In a Traditional method, you pay the fees once, and then they are gone.

The Higher Loan Balance calculation uses the Estimated Costs you plugged into the Traditional calculator, and adds them into the outstanding loan balance. If you are an FHA borrower, you should add in your up-front mortgage insurance premium (MIP) in the space provided in this calculator. If you are a veteran borrowing a VA-backed loan and will be financing all or part of the VA funding fee, make sure you add that cost here to get the most accurate results.. A larger loan balance will raise your Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio, and may affect the cost of or require you to obtain mortgage insurance, so you’ll need to consider this cost if it applies to your situation.

Since you are financing the costs, you’ll not only pay them but also interest on them. However, you are only paying them a little at a time, and depending upon how long you remain in the mortgage, they may cost you more or less than if you paid them right up front, as you would have using the traditional method.

A “No-Cost” offer might be your best bet if you don’t have cash to spend or available equity to commit toward your costs. Your loan will have a slightly higher than market interest rate, so your income will need to be sufficient to be able to handle the higher rate. If it isn’t, this higher rate can lower the amount of the mortgage you can qualify for, and that might disturb your purchasing plans. We assume that the interest rate available for a “no-cost” mortgage will be a half-percentage point higher than if you had paid the fees. If a lender offers you something different, you can change the information in the yellow box, then re-calculate the results.

In effect, since the whole amount of your loan will be exposed to this “higher-than-market” interest rate, this choice may cost you more over the long haul. If you’re not planning on being in the mortgage for the entire term, this choice may work better for you, so run the numbers to see.

Below the initial calculations, we’ve provided some examples of your costs over time, including the interest cost and the remaining loan balance after a given period of time. This way, you can see what those costs will be at varying intervals. You might find, for example, that relative to your time frame, incorporating the fees into the interest rate might mean they cost you less in interest over a given period than the amount you might have paid out-of-pocket up front.

Before you add in your actual numbers, we suggest that you use the following example in order to make it easier to follow the discussion of savings comparisons below. Use a $100,000 loan amount, a 4% interest rate and a 30-year term, press calculate, then read the example results below the calculator.

Tip: Check current mortgage rates to make sure you are getting the best deal on your mortgage. To learn more about homebuying, mortgage qualification and more, visit our library.

The Blue , Green and Orange displays above will allow you to see if paying or financing the costs of your loan works out for you over given time horizons. When you pay the fees up front, your interest charges will of course be lower over time compared with the other choices. but over how much time?

Note: you might not have all three choices available to you.

Let’s say that after a year Traditional method has seen you spend a total of $3968 in interest cost. Over the same time, the Higher Loan Balance (HLB) interest cost is $4047, while the “No Cost” option has seen you pay $4467.

If you should suddenly sell your home after a year, your actual cost for the Traditional finance method would include the $3968 in interest, plus an additional $2000 in closing costs for a total of $5968, while the other choices would have cost $4047 and $4467 respectively, so you would have been better off with one of them.

Factoring in the differences in remaining loan balances does change the equation, though. At the end of the 12-month period you still owe $1965 more on the HLB than the traditional refinance, bringing the total of your HLB refinance to $6012, just slightly more than the paid-up-front choice.

However, building those costs into the interest rate means your “no-cost” choice has seen you spend $4467 in interest, plus the $148 differential in remaining balance

    – so the total cost after 12 months is only $4615, a clear winner. but only over this very short time horizon.

These relationships change over time, however. After 10 years, you’ve spent a lot more in interest charges in the “no-cost” method than you would have if you chose to pay costs or build them into the loan amount.

All this said, in order to determine what your best choice will be over time, you’ll need to compare both interest costs and remaining balances among the various methods.

PicoSure Laser Tattoo Removal Now Available to Phoenix Scottsdale!

The PicoSure Laser is the fastest laser in the world for tattoo removal, clearing tattoo ink in about ½ the number of treatments required by older lasers in the Arizona market (for a list of old lasers see PicoSure facts below). PicoSure is changing the tattoo removal experience with fewer sessions needed, with less pain, and at a lower price. Now is the time to remove that old tattoo!

    • • FDA approved for tattoo removal in December 2012
    • • Phoenix Skin is the only practice in Arizona to offer the PicoSure Laser and one of about 30 locations in the US. The PicoSure laser delivers energy to the tattoo ink in picoseconds, which is one hundred times faster than old technology that only delivers energy in a nanosecond.
    • • Faster laser = quicker clearing of tattoo ink.
    • • Less time is needed between treatments (PicoSure 4 weeks) versus existing lasers that require 6-8 weeks.
    • • Easily removes blue, green, orange and yellow inks, which were once considered the toughest colors to remove with existing nanosecond technology (aka the older tattoo removal lasers).
    • • Studies reveal greater than 75% overall ink clearance in only 1-2 treatments.*
    • • PicoSure is removing tattoos in about ½ the number of treatments required by older lasers on the market. Older lasers on the market aka old technology include: Q-Switched Ruby, ND YAG, RevLite, AlexELETE, Astanza, MedLite, Sinon, Palomar and Spectra.

    PicoSure Questions and Answers
    Q. Can I book my first treatment without a consult?
    A. Yes, Phoenix Skin can provide an initial complimentary consultation, then treat the tattoo immediately after the consult.

    Q. How many treatments will I need?
    A. The number of treatments depends on the size, ink color and depth of the tattoo, but since PicoSure is 100x faster than any other laser on the market, fewer sessions will be required.

    Q. Why is the price per session more expensive than other places in town?
    A. PicoSure has a couple of advantages over other tattoo removal companies: shorter timeframe between treatments and fewer treatments necessary for removal (about ½). If you do the math, the cost is less and the tattoo is removed sooner. Additionally, Phoenix Skin has no hidden charges for numbing (unlike other practices who add it to the cost of the treatment) and no office visit minimums.

    Q. I have three tattoos that fit into the “box. Can I get that price instead?
    A. No, each tattoo is priced per treatment, per individual tattoo.

    Q. Is there a discount available for multiple tattoos?
    A. Largest tattoo is regular price. 25% off for any additional tattoos (based on quote from consultation). Discount applies on all tattoos treated at the same appointment.

    Q. Can I purchase a package of treatments at a discounted rate?
    A. Phoenix Skin does not offer discount packages because the PicoSure Laser removes ink so quickly, it is difficult to estimate how many treatments will be needed.

    Q. Does PicoSure work on permanent makeup?
    A. Eyebrows only they are $150 per session to treat both eyebrows. PicoSure cannot be used on permanent eyeliner.

    Q. Does PicoSure remove red ink?
    A. The Revlite laser removes red ink more effectively than PicoSure. If you happen to have a tattoo that contains red ink, Phoenix Skin will use the PicoSure for removal, paired with the Revlite to handle the red ink at no additional cost.

    Q. Will the PicoSure treatment hurt?
    A. The treatment feels somewhat similar to getting a tattoo. Our staff can numb the area prior to the procedure if necessary for comfort. Patients may experience some redness, bruising or crusting after being treated that will quickly subside within about one week.

    Q. Does Phoenix Skin do multiple treatments on the same tattoo in a single appointment?
    A. Some practices offer multiple treatments in a single appointment, known as the R20between treatments, which means that you will be spending up to 2 hours being treated. Lastly, the time between appointments is extended to between 3 and 6 months.

    Q. Why do I have to wait 3-4 weeks between treatments?
    A. The PicoSure laser tattoo removal treatment will break up the ink pigments into smaller pieces. The time required between treatments allows your body to naturally remove them. The PicoSure difference is that those broken up ink pigments are smaller than other lasers on the market, allowing your body to more effectively remove them, thus the recommended time between treatments is shorter.

    Q. Is PicoSure used for removal of anything else?
    A. Yes, it is also effective in clearing, age spots, Café au lait, brown spots, Nevus of Ota and birthmarks. In some cases, PicoSure can also address traumatic scars. Scheduling a complimentary consultation is recommended for evaluation of the area to be treated.

    Tattoo Cover Up
Want to replace a tattoo, but are not interested in a much bigger more elaborate costly design? Let Phoenix Skin Dermatology prepare you for that tattoo cover up using the same laser tattoo removal process allows the tattoo to fade enough for a tattoo artist to easily cover it with a new tattoo! See below for tattoo removal before and after pictures and witness how the tattoos fade with each treatment.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
Laser tattoo removal is the most effective, non-invasive method of safe tattoo ink removal. The lasers used at Phoenix Skin Dermatology for tattoo removal are designed to effectively target the ink that resides just under your skin. Using different wavelengths of light to address the many different colors used in tattoos, the laser breaks down the ink particles into smaller fragments which are then removed through your body’s natural cleansing process. This cleansing process generally takes between 3 to 4 weeks to remove the maximum amount of ink pigments. Scroll down to check out the tattoo removal before and after pictures of our clients.

This 20 kW generator was the best choice for many residential property owners. The 6244 model has been eliminated. That came as a huge shock for our customers and our own customer service team. The newest 20kW generator is the 6729. The model 6729 models the 6244 in design and operational features. The Generac 6729 is encased with a steel enclosure, while the 6244 has an aluminum enclosure.

So Generac, why the change? Previously buying a 17kW generator, like the Generac 6242, really only gave you 16kWs of running power. Newer models, like the Generac 6462. provide 16kWs for both starting and running watts. Most natural gas generators had two kW ratings, one for starting watts and the other running watts. This meant that you were figuratively paying for an extra kW unnecessarily. By upholding their promise to offer the most valuable products, Generac eliminated their 17kW and 14kW models. This allowed them to focus on improving the existing 16, 20 and adding a 22kW air cooled line. What works even better for our customers is the newer models are actually less expensive than the equivalent discontinued products. You are going to see savings upwards of $100 on the newer models without sacrificing any power.

The biggest release we saw this year was the revolutionary 22kW air cooled product line. The entire generator line is designed to optimize key real-world performance elements: total cost per kilowatt, reliability, ease of operation and capacity in relation to the range of load requirements of modern homes. The Generac 6551 22kW Generator in the Guardian Series is the largest air-cooled unit in our line. This model delivers the lowest comprehensive cost per kW with whole house power coverage.

Generac engineers all of its generators for the long term: the 6551 Guardian generator s all-weather aluminum enclosure has a robust powder-coat finish which is corrosion-resistant. The enclosure has been tested to withstand wind speeds up to 150 mph and is at home in seaside or high elevation environments. The Guardian Series is also extremely flexible in terms of specific site applications and fuel-source issues. In areas with low gas system pressure, the 6551 Guardian generator can operate with pressure as low as 3.5 of water column. If needed, the unit can also be field-converted to LP gas supply (or vice versa) in a few seconds without any tools.

This yard-friendly, remarkably quiet generator runs a low-RPM periodic self-test for only five minutes. The homeowner decides whether this test runs weekly, bi-weekly or monthly and at what specific times. They support the 22kW 6551 Guardian with a 24/7 Customer Service Hotline which is staffed by our in-house technical and administrative support. Of course, this class-leading generator is manufactured in Wisconsin and carries Generac s five-year limited warranty. Please take a look at customer reviews of this unit elsewhere on the website. There is a large and growing base of satisfied homeowners who attest to the superior dependability and low maintenance demands of the 22kW model 6551.

If you are in the market for a new home standby generator for yourself, your business or your clients we encourage you to explore the new Generac models. The 22kW line offers a great value, and, the 16kW and 20kW models offer great values for smaller power needs. AP Electric has a knowledgeable technical support team that can answer questions about any of these models or changes that Generac has made this year. If you are unsure which kW rating you need use our Generator Sizing Tool.

Generac offers the most comprehensive line of air cooled generators in the market today. Generac generators come in a variety of sizes ranging from 6kW to 22kW. By now you should be pretty sure of the size of generator you are looking for. Only consider a home standby generator if you are looking for a unit that will be permanently affixed to your home. A Generac air cooled generator is permanently installed, much like an air conditioner outside of your home or business. A Generac air cooled generator is either a home standby (circuited meaning it powers a limited number of chosen devices) or whole house (meaning it powers all or many of the devices in a home or small business). Knowing this information will help you nail down which transfer switch option you need. Most Generac Generators are conveniently packaged with compatible transfer switch options.

Be sure to visit the Generac 22kW Air Cooled Generators. These models offer the lowest comprehensive cost per watt to run. Imagine not losing any conveniences during a power outage. In many remote areas, power could be lost for days at a time. One year of not throwing away food or replacing damaged electronics pays for the cost itself. The peace of mind these generators offer are unmatched.

How Much Is the Average Monthly Cost of Car Insurance for a 17-Year-Old?

Written by James Hirby and Fact Checked by The Law Dictionary Staff

Like airlines and rental car companies, car insurance companies are prone to changing the cost and terms of their services without warning. This is understandable: Car insurance policies are subject to dozens of disparate factors that combine to create a unique profile for each covered driver. In the eyes of American auto insurers, very few drivers are identical. Even those drivers who are virtually indistinguishable may be asked to pay different rates on their car insurance policies based on small or esoteric differences in their driver profiles. For instance, two demographically-identical drivers might pay different rates on the same policy thanks to one driver s long relationship with the policy s issuer. As a new customer, the second driver might not qualify for a loyalty discount or another similar promotion.

Regardless of where he or she secures his or her auto insurance policy. a 17-year-old driver must be prepared to pay above-average monthly premiums. This is due to several interrelated factors. First, 17-year-old drivers tend to be reckless and impulsive. Teenage drivers are involved in serious car accidents with far greater frequency than their older counterparts. Once a driver turns 25, his or her chances of being involved in such an accident begin to drop precipitously.

For drivers who remain in high school, the accident rate is frighteningly high. Although the ongoing imposition of graduated-licensing programs appears to be cutting down on the incidence of dangerous late-night and impairment-related crashes among teenage drivers, the rate is still far too high. Mounting scientific evidence suggests that teenage drivers are simply hard-wired for recklessness.

In addition to their propensity for recklessness, teenage drivers are clearly less experienced than their older counterparts. Situations that would not prove particularly challenging for regular drivers might provide injurious or even fatal for teenage drivers. For instance, 17-year-olds may be unfamiliar with winter-driving protocols or fail to adhere to local restrictions against right turns at red lights.

With these restrictions in mind, 17-year-old drivers who wish to purchase insurance may be able to cut down on their monthly premiums in several ways. For starters, most insurance companies offer safe driver discounts for individuals who remain accident-free for multiple years. Teenagers who avoid accidents can take advantage of these discounts. In addition, good student discounts might save academically-inclined teens as much as 25 percent per month. Finally, teenagers who remain listed on their parents policies without purchasing their own coverages might stand to save as much as $100 per month.

    Average Monthly Car Insurance Cost

Here’s what you need to know.

    • The average car insurance rates will depend on a variety of factors that includes both personal and public factors
    • Finding the average car insurance rates can be done easily through an online web search
    • Remember that there are ways to lower your insurance rate including searching for discounts and driving well

The average cost of car insurance per month depends on a number of factors. The average rate of premiums for a man in Wisconsin might not be the same as the average rate for a woman in Texas .

If you compare the averages for the past few years, you will see that the price is gradually going up.

There are many reasons for this increase in auto insurance premiums. Inflation, a general increase in the youth population, and of course, brand new cars all contribute to the cost of insurance.

If you want to get better than average car insurance rates, do a little comparison shopping among multiple car insurance companies.

Where can I look for the average car insurance rates?

One of the best tools you have at your fingertips in regards to finding statistics for average insurance rates is the Internet. You can find out just about anything these days just by using your computer.

You can do a general search for average car insurance rates by using the search engines such as Google and Bing .

You find a number of articles and websites that you can visit that will give you average costs for the past and current years.

You can also visit the Insurance Information Institute, which is a website dedicated to informing the public about the insurance industry.

If you visit the III s Insurance Fact Book. you will have the option to purchase the guide, which includes a number of figures and facts, including the average premiums for car insurance.

If you are debating between two or three car insurance companies, you may want to just call each of them and ask what their average premium is on a yearly basis.

You can also talk with your family members and friends and ask what they pay for their insurance premiums in order to get an average that way.

Factors That Play a Part in Auto Insurance Premiums

There are actually several factors that insurance companies consider when evaluating your rates.

The average is the price insurance companies base their suggested price on.

They consider the average person in your situation and the risks associated with his/her driving. You will have to pay a premium partially calculated on the state average and regional average.

You will pay a premium partially calculated on your age group average.

Other factors that will be compared to the state average include gender and marital status. Based on the statewide performance of your neighbors, you may have to pay a slightly higher cost on your car insurance.

Although you are fighting the law of averages to some extent, there are some factors that are controllable.

Fewer traffic violations or traffic accidents will mean a better premium rate. You will also save money my choosing older, larger and safer cars instead of new sports cars.

    Circumstances You Can Control

Pursuing a higher education can save on your premiums as, statistically, educated drivers take fewer risks on the road.

Similarly, people with good credit score statistically drive safer than people who have poor credit scores.

The insurance companies figure that you, as an educated or financially cautious individual, will drive safely like all the others.

Your occupation and the driving distance to your job are two important, controllable factors.

The insurance company considers the total number of miles driven each year.

If you are hoping to decrease your insurance premiums, you could start taking the bus or carpooling to work, or stop frequently driving your work vehicle.

    Battling the Average

Though you contend with the average premium rate for your state and city, there are measures you can take to pay a below average rate.

You can look into multiple car or multiple-policy discounts, or you can drop comprehensive or collision damage and simply pay for liability insurance.

Remember, the averages compiled for each state are based on full coverage contracts that includeliability, comprehensive and collision.

If you take definite steps to decrease your personal and the insurance company’s risk, you can enjoy a much greater discount than the average person.

In the meantime, you can search for comparable insurance quotes online and get a rough estimate of what you might be paying for car insurance based on your basic demographics.

Basement Waterproofing Service in MA and RI #foundation #waterproofing, #basement #sealer,

    #

The Healthy Basement & Crawl Space Certificate is about maintaining a basement or crawl space that promotes a healthy indoor living environment. Air pollutants, excessive moisture and water entering the basement or crawl space can produce living conditions which may lead to serious health risks.

We fix wet, moist, and humid basements in MA & RI

Pioneer Basement is the leading local basement waterproofing contractor, serving MA & RI families with a sub-floor drainage system engineered specifically to solve basement water problems in our area. Our systems can be designed to meet the needs of any home, regardless of age or size.

If your basement has ever leaked or flooded, then you should consider a quality basement waterproofing system. Without basement waterproofing, water problems never get better, they only get worse. Even if water leaks are uncommon, your home’s air quality can be impacted and your ability to finish your basement is restricted.

Pioneer Basement’s waterproofing system is a sub-floor drainage system engineered specifically to solve basement water problems effectively without worry of clogging from soils under the floor. Our systems can be designed to meet the needs of any home, regardless of age or size.

    The Pioneer Basement Approach

We offer a combination of experience and advanced technology. Our founder, Steve Andras, founded a manufacturing company to develop better basement waterproofing products for his customers. We are the only company in MA and RI offering Steve’s patented basement systems, which are now distributed worldwide.

Over 30 years of on the job experience have gone into engineering the Pioneer Basement waterproofing system. We only install closed drainage systems which utilize a wall vapor barrier to direct water down into the sub-floor drainage. Then, our powerful, patented sump pumps pump water out of the home.

When you consider the risks that a wet basement poses to your family’s health, the increased resale value of your home after waterproofing, and the risk of a flooded basement without waterproofing, the decision becomes easy.

Call our basement waterproofing experts today at 508-416-6564 or fill out our inquiry form for a free basement inspection.

    Cheap Wireless Internet Connection

    ISP 1 Internet Access – May 26, 2010

How to Get A Cheap Wireless Internet Connection?

The way we live our lives today makes it essential that we get connected to the Internet all the time. It will allow you to get any information you want from anywhere in the world and provide you the necessary help in completing various tasks. There are several ways to connect to the web and one of these is through wireless Internet. However, you would not want to pay hundreds of dollars each month for this service. That is the reason why searching for a Cheap Wireless Internet service is important. You get the convenience that the World Wide Web provides and the service does not burden your pocket. It’s the best of both worlds.

Locating A Budget Wireless Internet Provider?

One of the common ways of finding a low cost Internet connection is by browsing through different sites that are providing the service. You can scout on their offered rates deals and select one that is most appropriate for your needs and monthly budget. Almost all of these online companies are anxious for people to sign up and they would generally offer you the moon just to entice you to do so. However, signing up with the first wireless Internet provider that you come across is usually not a wise decision. You should always compare the offers of one provider with the others in order to make an informed decision. You should also analyze each package for the price they are being offered. You may be surprised to find out that the supposed cheap wireless Internet is not that cheap at all, because you will be paying more than what you need.

You can also look around the old way by taking the time and effort to visit a affordable wireless Internet provider in your local area. Although this is less convenient than surfing online, the method has the advantage of being able to inquire directly on an wireless connection. By being in personal contact with the wireless service provider, you can help them make a better assessment of your online needs. Some wireless companies may even allow you to have a trial connection to their cheap wireless Internet service, thereby giving you the chance to test the real deal. In addition, you may be able to build a good rapport with the staff which will allow you to gain an easy dealing with them, in case you choose to use their services.

Things To Look For From Your Wireless Plan?

A low cost wireless Internet connection could be more budget friendly than cable or DSL, if you need mobility and factor in the reduced costs of having one broadband plan that you can use virtually anywhere. In getting the services of one, the most important specification you should look at are the download and upload speeds. These are usually stated at their maximum limits. For example, if your chosen wireless Internet provider states eight hundred kbps on its specifications, it means that it is the highest speed it could provide but normal operation could be lesser than that.

How Much Does Wireless Internet Cost?

High end wireless Internet service firms set it at a minimum of three hundred dollars, while discount Internet providers will top out at less than a hundred dollars. Check on the subscription rates, bandwidth and length of contract as well. You can usually ask for a certain part of the fee to be waived. A cheap wireless Internet connection could be made more affordable if you will purchase the equipment outright but you could always lease if you want to. In fact, this could be better if you are going to use the equipment for only a year. Many mobile broadband providers offer Free Wireless Devices when you sign up for a wireless Internet plan. There are wireless USB, cardbus (aircards), and even mobile hotspot routers such as Verizon’s MiFi.

    Other Considerations?

If you’re not satisfied with the services of the cheapest wireless Internet service around, you could always augment it with an inexpensive broadband DSL or high speed cable Internet plan. DSL and cable Internet connections are direct and considerably faster than a low cost wireless connection, but are fixed to one location and don’t offer mobility. Internet provider. You should also consider the fact that the speed of most cheap wireless Internet providers is dictated by them. This is because there is no dedicated line that will handle the connections and the lowest price deal you made is shared by a large number of people. This means that you will only be able to get a portion of their bandwidth.

    Broadband Wireless Internet Alternatives:

You have several options when choosing a high speed Internet service provider.

Your Internet connection is made with the service provider via special hardware interfaces using television cable, DSL telephone lines, satellite dish, wireless interface, or a combination.

High speed broadband Internet access is now available in most areas at a reasonable monthly cost of around $20 to $60.

Cable or DSL broadband high speed Internet service is available in many areas and usually the cheapest solution. Satellite or wireless high speed Internet service is available in most areas, but costs a little more.

Emergency Room – Typical Average Cost of Hospital ED Visit

    Primary Listings

Average expenses for people who had one or more visits to the Emergency Room were $1423 in 2013, according to the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). Median, or typical, cost was $703. For people ages 45 to 64, the cost was substantially higher on average ($1840). Uninsured people under age 65 averaged $1627 in expenses ($572 median), of which they paid almost 1/3 out of pocket. Summary report shows average cost (charges) for a hospital ER visit based on acuity. Low acuity Pediatric visit was about $800 in 2013; high acuity pediatric ER visit was about $2400. For adult women, low acuity mean charge was $1526; High acuity average 2014 charge for men was $5512. Common symptoms (e.g. $7482 for abdominal pain visit to the ER; $1651 for upper respiratory infection visit; $3058 for a sprain; $4809 for headache including migraine, urinary tract infection averaged $48570 and more. Find the average cost of an emergency room (ER / ED) visit at each Florida hospital in 2014. State average ER cost was $4546. North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville had the highest average charge in FL at a whopping $11,413 per ER visit in 2014. Only 3 hospitals had an average charge of $1000 or less. Complexity and seriousness of the visit vary from hospital to hospital. Easy to use tool, but not diagnosis-specific. From FloridaHealthFinder.gov.

An interesting comparison is the cost for the same problem (e.g. sore throat or ear ache), depending on whether the patient seeks office care, urgent care or ER care. This report adds together charges from both the hospital and the physician – not commonly seen in reports of charges. In a time when price data are so difficult to get, this report earns an Editor’s Pick as a starting point. Hospital Outpatient reports may show prices for Emergency Dept. visit, lab tests, CT, MRI, Mammo, x-ray, ultrasound, PT visit, Arthroscopy, colonoscopy, hernia repair, gall bladder removal, etc. depending on their highest volume. #

Average car insurance rates by age

To see average car insurance rates for teens, see the following articles, that feature rates by age, state and gender:

Age is just one factor that car insurance companies assess when deciding how much you pay. Other factors that affect car insurance rates include:

    • where you live
    • what model car you drive
    • marital status
    • your driving record
    • your credit history
    • your annual mileage

Each of these rating factors, among others, along with type of coverage you choose and with what limits, influences the rate you’ll pay for your car insurance policy.

And don’t forget that what car insurance company you choose makes a difference in the car insurance rates you’ll be offered. That’s because insurance companies assess risk differently, and each use their own formulas to calculate the price you pay. So the price for a policy will vary signigicantly among insurance companies.

Whatever age and whether male or female, you can save hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars depending upon the insurer you chose. For this reason, it s a must to compare car insurance companies and find the one that offers the best rates for your particular set of rating factors.

Having an insurance calculator that actually calculated your average insurance rate using general questions as points of reference would be nice.

It can sometimes be very difficult to define the amount of coverage a person needs to be protected from accidents.

quite helpful. ) i like chicken nuggets

Well it is not you alls fault. The statement about males being more aggressive behind the wheel is completely false. Every female I know have heavy feet, and so does everyone knows this is true. They also almost all of the time let go of the wheel immediately when something goes wrong.

    IT WAS TOTALLY AWSOME

Cost of Quality and Lean Six Sigma Projects #lean #six #sigma, cost

    #

Cost of Quality and Lean Six Sigma Projects

Cost of Quality and Lean Six Sigma projects should have a relationship. The concept Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) is usually included in Lean Six Sigma training; however, COPQ is typically considered to make up a small proportion of the costs that a company experiences relative to Cost of Quality (COQ).

Organizations benefit when a potential or completed Lean Six Sigma project considers all cost implications. Neither COPQ nor COQ addresses all costs that a business might incur relative to process waste. To illustrate this point, consider how COPQ and COQ do not consider WIP (work in process or work in progress) costs, which could have a very large organizational benefit if there were a reduction in its magnitude, with no other negative impact to the process.

With a Business Process Management (BPM), Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) approach for implementing Lean Six Sigma. preference is given to use of the term Cost of Doing nothing Differently (CODND) in lieu of COPQ. CODND considers all costs related to a process, whether that be determining the potential gain for a new project or determining the achieved profit from an actual project.

Organizations benefit if they use a CODND approach when addressing the financial benefits from Lean Six Sigma projects. A CODND approach would include the following COQ considerations.

Cost of Quality and Lean Six Sigma Projects: Deployment s Measurement of Success

The measure of an organization s Lean Six Sigma deployment success is typically the amount of achieved savings from process improvement efforts. One of the following two problems can occur from these calculations:

    1. $100 million dollars was reported in savings, for example, but no one can find the money.
    2. Hidden costs to an organization are not addressed in the calculation.

The first point addresses improvement project selection. With this issue, improvement efforts are not focusing on making strategic enhancements to an organization so that the enterprise as a whole financially benefits. How to overcome this issue with Lean Six Sigma project selection is addressed in the article Project Selection with Whole Enterprise Benefit .

This article will focus on the second point, where within a Lean Six Sigma deployment, hidden costs to an organization are not addressed in the calculation.

Costs of Quality (COQ) can have many hidden costs to an organization, as illustrated in the figure:

From Integrated Enterprise Excellence Volume III Improvement Project Execution: A Management and Black Belt Guide for Going Beyond Lean Six Sigma and the Balanced Scorecard

Essentially, the quality cost to an organization is heightened each time work needs to be redone. Whether it is the re-manufacturing of items, tools, service or retesting systems, the cost of quality will always be affected in a negative way. Thus, it is the cost that could have been saved only when the item or service quality was flawless. As an organization enhances quality, the good costs are incurred while reducing the cost of bad quality.

To lessen or eradicate low quality, organizations may implement performance measures to enhance poor quality. For instance, a car company should spend more time in detecting, preventing and handling defects than using the finest quality metal or leather. Taking a closer look at the four types of quality costs will be beneficial in gaining better understanding. They include the following: prevention costs. appraisal costs. internal failure costs and external failure costs .

Cost of Quality: 1. Prevention Costs

Avoiding any defect to take place is the most proven way to handle the cost of quality. This is what prevention cost is all about. Preventing issues and defects from happening is more cost effective than finding solutions once these took place. In short, prevention costs relate to all activities that are meant to trim down or eliminate defects.

Cost of Quality: 2. Appraisal Costs

All defects in the products or services must be detected in an early time frame throughout the process of production. This is where appraisal costs will enter the picture. Also known as inspection cost , it is used to spot defects prior to the delivery to customers. However, performing such activities does not guarantee that defects will not take place. This leads to the fact that even the use of many inspectors cannot lead to 100 percent quality. Plus, this approach in quality cost is expensive and ineffective in that defects can be overlooked.

To resolve this, most current organizations realize the importance of quality control on the part of their employees. All employees should be accountable for quality control. This measure, along with improving the design and easy manufacturing of products, contributes to better quality control, rather than relying solely on human inspection.

Cost of Quality: 3. Internal Failure Costs

Failure costs exist every time products fall short to the specified design. Internal failure costs are generated from detecting defects prior to shipping. This type of cost may involve rejected and scrap products, fixing defective items as well as downtime brought by problems in quality. In some cases, this type of quality cost also includes review of materials, material downgrades and re-testing.

An organization with a more efficient appraisal approach has a better chance of identifying issues internally. This also means improved internal failure costs. With a better internal failure cost strategy in place, gigantic costs of external failure can be prevented.

Cost of Quality: 4. External Failure Costs

External failure cost occurs when defective items are shipped to customers. This may cover costs like product recalls, warranty repairs, product replacements, and legal issues, as well as lost profits brought about by poor reputation. These costs can be devastating to an organization s revenues; thus, these are the costs that are acquired once the products have already been shipped.

In the pasr, managers tended to rely on warranty evaluations too much when it came to handling problems with products. Shipping items to customers without dwelling much on quality control measures resulted in great external failure costs, as well as a decline in profits and market share and customers ill spirits.

Reducing Total Quality Costs and Improving Organizational Financials

The sum of the four above Cost of Quality categories account for total quality costs. Organizations might be spending as much as 20 percent on the cost of quality. But then, many state that it is possible to reduce this cost to 3 percent to 5 percent range.

A challenge for today s organizations to reduce overall quality cost. One approach to accomplish this is to improve the integration of Cost of Quality with Lean Six Sigma project selection; however, these costs are often not in plain view in an organization.

An IEE value chain. which can offer automatic predictive metrics updates, provides a means for highlighting not only COQ and COPQ costs on an on-going basis but highlighting other organizational expenses relative to CODND as well. When this is done, more significant organizational improvement opportunities can readily be identified through the nine-step IEE business-management system. The result: Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement projects are identified and executed so that there is an enhanced, direct linkage to making a positive impact on financials. This is done by reducing the magnitude of CODND predictive metrics, which can be monitored in organizational-value-chain scorecards at the 30,000-foot-level .

How To Germany – Low Cost Airlines in Germany #low #cost

    #

    Low Cost Airlines in Germany

A number of low cost airlines have stirred up air travel within Europe by radically cutting fares in exchange for eliminating many traditional passenger services. A Ryanair flight from Hahn, Germany, to London Stansted can cost as little as 50.

The low fare concept originated in the United States before spreading to Europe in the early 1990s. The most notable successes here are Ireland’s Ryanair, which began low-fares operations in 1991, and easyJet, formed in 1995.

The cheapies save money in a number of ways. They eliminate free onboard meals, charging for them instead. They fly to cheaper, less-congested secondary airports. They emphasize short flights, fast turnaround and maximum utilization of aircraft. They’re tough on excess baggage. A few extra kilograms can double the cost of your flight.

They emphasize direct sale of tickets, especially over the internet, avoiding travel agent fees. They have only one passenger class, and don’t bother with First or Business class. Nor do they bother with Frequent Flier miles. They even give employees multiple tasks. Flight attendants may also clean the cabin or act as gate agents.

In order to compete with these cheapies, main carriers have cut their fares on competing routes. Sometimes they are only 20 percent more expensive than discount airlines, and that could mean that the total trip cost may be the same, or even cheaper, with the main carriers. Don’t forget the cost, and inconvenience, of getting to those out-of-the-way airports.

Here are some of the main low cost carriers:

    Ryanair

Ryanair was the first European low fare airline, and it is still the largest. It has a hub at the former US air base at Hahn, Germany, and its largest operational bases are at Dublin International and London Stansted Airports. Each year it carries some 60 million passengers in 195 aircraft on more than 800 routes across 26 European countries. (www.ryanair.com )

    EasyJet

EasyJet, based at London’s Luton Airport, is Europe’s second biggest low cost carrier, after Ryanair. In contrast to Ryanair it flies mainly to the leading airports, a strategy that attracts business travelers. It has hubs in three London airports (Gatwick, Stansted and Luton) and two in Paris (Charles de Gaulle and Orly). Other hubs are Berlin, Liverpool and Bristol, and it flies from these to 103 airports, mainly in Europe. (www.easyJet.com )

    Germanwings

Germanwings, now fully owned by Lufthansa, has its main base at the Cologne-Bonn Airport, with secondary bases at the Stuttgart, Berlin-Sch nefeld, Hamburg and Dortmund Airports. It has 26 Aibuses and flies to some 70 airports in Eastern and Western Europe. (www.germanwings.com )

    Air Berlin

Air Berlin started as an American-operated charter airline back in the days when only the World War II victors could serve Berlin. Now it has grown to be Germany’s second biggest airline, after Lufthansa. Today its fleet extends to 136 aircraft flying to more than 130 destinations within Germany, Europe and throughout the world. Its main base is at Berlin-Tegel Airport, with hubs at N rnberg, D sseldorf and Palma de Mallorca, (www.airberlin.com )

    TUIfly

TUIfly, with 45 aircraft, is the third largest German airline, after Lufthansa and Air Berlin. Headquartered at the Hannover Airport, it operates services mainly to European holiday resorts and carries more than 12.5 million passengers a year to 80 destinatins in 17 countries. It serves many German airports, even smaller ones. (www.tuifly.com/en )

    Condor

Condor, owned by one of the world’s leading travel agencies, Thomas Cook, is unique in that it also offers long stretch flights at low prices. You can fly to America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia for as little as 279. It connects 25 airports inside of Germany. (www.condor.de )

There are very many other low cost airlines and more are being established with regularity. Here are some others: AirBaltic, Austrian-Airlines, Blue1, BMI Baby, Lot, Dauair, Helvetic, Intersky, SkyEurope, SmartWings, Transavia, VLM, Brussels Airlines and Wizz Air.

    Booking Air Travel Online

Buying an airline ticket online is the way to go these days. You can compare prices, pick your seat and print your boarding pass without leaving home. And the service is available 24/7. It’s also a benefit for the airlines, cutting costs in these days of intense competition.

According to an Internet research firm, online travel sales will account for some 25 percent of all bookings in 2006, up from less than 15 percent in 2003. By 2009, it is predicted roughly one-third of all travel revenues will be handled via the Internet.

There are many different websites that you can go to to book flights. What is important is the ease of navigation, the number of airlines that are searched, whether or not the whole process is uncomplicated and how quickly the booking engines can process your requests. Another consideration is how the flights can be listed. If you are looking for the best fare, then an engine that lists by price first is probably a good idea. Some booking engines are better than others.

Though the websites guide you step-by-step as you make a transaction, there are some things you ought to know. You have to choose at the outset between the website of one of the online travel agencies and the website of the airline with which you are thinking of traveling.

A factor to take into consideration for those looking for transatlantic flights is whether or not you can book tickets from Europe for travel from the States to Europe. Also, for travel within Europe you may want to see flights offered by different low cost airlines as well as charter flights. SatoTravel has a very efficient booking engine at www.europe.satovacations.com that offers all of these features.

There is no charge for use of an airline’s website, but you are limited to that airline’s flights. There may be a cheaper one out there with another airline. The online agencies cut through this by giving you a variety of flights to your destination.

How Much Does Renters Insurance Cost? Average Price #how #much #should

    #

    Renters Insurance Cost

Renters insurance is known to be the least-utilized insurance coverage available despite the fact that it is also one of the most affordable. If you are on a tight budget, you may find it difficult to justify spending money on a policy that is not required. However, it is a good idea to investigate how much renters insurance costs to see how sensible and low cost this protection can be.

    Renters Insurance Statistics

As you begin thinking about your renters policy and how much you’ll be spending on coverage, it might be helpful to consider some statistics.

    • In 2010, the average cost of a rental insurance policy in the U.S. was $185 a year
    • Renter insurance costs are highest in Mississippi, Louisiana and Oklahoma
    • The cost of rental insurance is lowest in North Dakota, South Dakota and North Carolina

Regardless of where you live, your renters insurance policy and cost will be unique. An insurer will take into account your assets, your risk factors, and several other items when presenting you with a quote .

Several Factors Affect How Much Renters Insurance Costs

Insurance companies’ rates and policies can differ significantly. When calculating your renters insurance price, insurance companies take several factors into account. These include, but are not limited to:

    • How much coverage you need
    • They type of coverage you choose
    • The amount of your deductible
    • The location of your rented home or apartment

These factors affect your insurance rates – but you won’t know exactly how much they will vary from a cost standpoint from company to company until you collect quotes.

How Much Renters Insurance Do You Need?

When you get a quote for a renters insurance policy. you will have to decide how much personal property coverage and liability coverage you need. You will also have to consider whether you want to purchase additional endorsements to cover specific items, such as high value jewelry or collections. Additional coverage will affect the cost of your policy, but renters insurance costs are still typically very reasonable even with full coverage.

There are several steps involved in deciding how much renters insurance you need.

    1. Decide how much coverage you need for your personal property. To determine this, assess your belongings including furniture, electronics, clothing, artwork, kitchenware and collectables. Note that if you experience a loss, your reimbursement costs cannot exceed the coverage amount you choose, so be sure to think this through. In the event that you were to lose everything, would your coverage be enough to allow you get back on your feet and start over?
    2. Choose the amount of liability coverage you want. Your liability insurance will provide coverage for medical bills if someone is injured on your property, as well as legal expenses if needed. Because the cost of a law suit and legal fees can exceed $1 million, many insurance professionals recommend purchasing more than the standard coverage. If your liability coverage limit is $100,000, you could end up paying the costs of damages and legal fees out of pocket. Even raising the limit to $300,000 can provide peace of mind. While raising your liability limit will increase your premium, it’s probably more affordable than you think.

Most insurance companies impose caps on how much coverage they will provide for various categories of personal belongings. If you have an extensive amount of electronic equipment, designer clothing or any other sort of expensive collectable, you may want to consider purchasing additional endorsements, or riders, to obtain full coverage for these things.

    Actual-Value vs. Replacement Cost Coverage

Insurance companies typically offer the choice of actual value coverage or replacement cost coverage for your belongings. Actual value coverage covers the depreciated value of your belongings, whereas replacement cost coverage will provide you with enough to purchase a new replacement.

While replacement cost coverage does cost a bit more, you will most likely find it to be invaluable in the event of a burglary, fire or other incident when you need to replace the items lost. As you’re looking at renters insurance rates and quotes, keep these two types of coverage in mind.

    Choosing the Right Deductible

Your deductible is the amount you will have to pay out of pocket before your insurance coverage kicks in. Having a very high deductible will significantly lower your insurance premium. Lower deductibles will result in more coverage but at a higher rate. Renters insurance deductibles can range from $50 to $1,500.

If you opt for a high deductible of $1,000 and your camera and iPad are stolen in a burglary, it will probably not be worthwhile to file a claim. However, if you have a low deductible of $250, filing a claim might make sense. As a renter, you need to find the right balance in choosing your deductibles and how that affects your premium.

For example, you may find that having a low cost policy with a high deductible makes the most sense for you and your risk tolerance, or you may decide that you would prefer to pay a slightly higher premium for the peace of mind that you won’t have to pay much out of pocket to recover from a loss.

Does the Location of Your Rental Home Affect Your Cost?

Areas that are prone to devastating natural disasters or that have high crime rates typically have higher rental insurance rates. Insurers will look at the crime rate and risk of disaster in the specific area, or ZIP code, where your rental home is located and use it to determine your insurance rates.

The highest average renters insurance rates in the country are in Mississippi, where residents pay an average insurance rate of $252 per year. Homes in this state are frequently damaged by hurricanes, tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. On the other hand, residents in North Dakota, a state that has a low crime rate and very little risk of natural disasters, pay an average of $115 a year.

What Will a Policy Will Cost You?

Determining your cost for renters insurance on your own can be tricky. Many insurance websites will require you to enter a lot of personal data to get a quote, and it can be difficult to see how altering various options can affect your rate. Some sites will not provide you with a rate online, but instead will have a sales representative give you a call.

The easiest way to learn how much or how little renters insurance will cost you is to speak with an agent in the Trusted Choice network. A member agent can help you assess your coverage needs and will compare renters insurance costs from several different insurance companies to find a policy priced at a competitive rate. Find your local agent today to get more information and an obligation-free quote for renters insurance.

Average price for life insurance per month #average #life #insurance #cost

    #

Average price for life insurance per month?

For a family, the average is anywhere from 50-100 dollars a month, though it varies greatly. It wholly depends on the usage. no body can define a monthly amount . The answer to this question is dependent upon where you live in the country. The utility company sets the price in cents per kilowatt per hour of use. That tariff is based on how the power is produced. Coal fired boiler, hydro electric, nuclear are some of the ways that the power is produced. (MORE)

The question and answer are locked and cannot be edited.

Car insurance costs are affected by several factors, such as driving record, where you live (state regulations as well as neighborhood crime rates), age, and th e car itself (sports cars will cost more to insure), however, the national average is $1,837 per year or $153 monthly. (MORE)

The average number of days per month is exactly 29.6041667 days 😀 EDIT, I can’t imagine how the above number was calculated. Show your work! The actual answer, with the math behind it is: 365.25/12 = 30.4375 If you don’t want to account for leap years: 365/12 = 30.416666667 EDIT, But another thing you didn’t account for was that every 100 years there is no leap year and every 400 years there is so, really there is about 365.242357 days in a year so, 365.242357/12 = 30.4368631 (MORE)

The average heating bill per month is anywhere from 50 dollars to 100 dollars per person. The more people living in the house the less it is per person.

Depends on the price of the car: If the average price of a car was $20k the payment will be around $350.

Starting from the assumption that there are 365.25 days per year (remember those leap years), you get: 365.25 days/year multiplied by 1/12 (1 year is 12 months), further multiplied by 1/7 (1 Sunday every 7 days) the answer is roughly 4.35 Sundays per month (MORE)

    How Much Does CoolSculpting Cost? #how #much #does #auto #insurance #cost

    #

    How much does CoolSculpting cost?

Anne Cusack/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images

You diet, you run, you work out. You live a healthy, positive lifestyle, and yet you still have some areas of stubborn fat that refuse to firm up or fade away.

If you are in this situation, you may consider cosmetic surgery for removing the fat, including the CoolSculpting brand treatment.

This process, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2010, is a noninvasive, nonsurgical skin-care treatment with proven results for reducing fat in key areas of the body.

So how much does CoolSculpting cost?

Prices for the procedure vary, especially as you may require more than one treatment; and as health insurance does not cover CoolSculpting, it is important to understand what costs are involved.

    What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a fat removal procedure. Treatment involves the application of a handheld device to precisely freeze fat below the surface of the skin. During the treatment, the fat cells freeze and crystallize, and after the cells die, the body processes and eliminates them naturally.

Results usually become apparent after three weeks, with the most noticeable changes within two months, but the body continues to process and expel the fat cells for up to six months.

The procedure specifically targets stubborn areas of fat in key areas:

    • The abdomen.
    • Flanks (or “love handles”).
    • Inner thigh and outer thigh.
    • The chin.

CoolSculpting is not suitable for significant weight loss in obese people or people who are more than 20 pounds overweight. For some areas of the body, alternative treatments such as liposuction are necessary.

    How much does CoolSculpting cost?

The cost of CoolSculpting varies between regions, and factors such as the number of applications play a significant role in the final price. The cost for treatment on multiple body areas averages $2,250. according to statistics from realself.com in October 2016.

An important factor determining price is the size of the applicator for treating the area. Mini applicators cost approximately $750 to $900. medium applicators cost around $600 to $800. and the large applicators cost approximately $1,200 to $1,500 .

For example, a single treatment of the lower abdominal area requires a large applicator and costs up to $1,500, while treating the upper abdomen with a small applicator is closer to $900.

Apply for a personal loan to pay for a CoolSculpting procedure.

    Other cost considerations

When determining if you have the funds for CoolSculpting, bear in mind that more than one treatment may be necessary to see the best results. So, there is the potential for costs to increase rapidly.

Furthermore, as CoolSculpting is cosmetic, your health insurance will not cover the treatment.

It is usually worth trying other ways to lose fat first, such as diet and exercise.

If all else fails, budgeting for CoolSculpting is usually more cost-effective than procedures such as liposuction. Even so, many CoolSculpting practices offer flexible payment plans so you don’t have to pay for everything at once.

    Are you a suitable candidate?

Not everybody is a suitable candidate for CoolSculpting. The procedure is only for removing fat in targeted areas and does not provide all-over fat loss. It is not a weight-loss solution for people who are obese and is not a substitute for more drastic weight-loss options, such as gastric bypass surgery.

The most suitable candidates are healthy individuals with a few noticeable bulges around the abdomen, flanks and thighs.

Avoid CoolSculpting if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, or if you have an existing hernia that the treatment may exacerbate.

Always consult with your health care provider first to ensure you are not at any risk of complications.

    Conclusion

For stubborn fat deposits that seem to resist your best efforts to exercise and diet, CoolSculpting is a reasonably priced, nonsurgical option.

The process has FDA approval, and while it is not a suitable alternative to a dedicated weight-loss program, it has the potential to tone and tighten problem areas. Just be aware that health insurance does not cover this type of cosmetic process, so you must settle the bill out of your own pocket.

Always consult your health care provider first, and discuss payment plan options with your CoolSculpting practice before committing to treatment.

How Much Does It Cost to Study an MBA? Costs and funding

    2016-01-09 by Jennifer Weingarten

The costs of an MBA vary across different business schools, different programmes, and different countries. In this article, we want to examine what makes up these costs and how you should do your calculations if you are considering starting an MBA.

    Tuition fee

The tuition fees for an MBA start at around 3.000 and can go up to 70.000 EUR per year.

The differences are huge and it is very hard to assess the quality of the programme by the tuition fee. A low tuition fee does not necessarily indicate a low quality of education, just as a high one does not guarantee it. A good idea is to check the accreditation of the programme from institutes like AACSB. AMBA and EQUIS. Accreditation from two or even all 3 of these institutions is a good indicator of high quality.

Worldwide, the average tuition fee for an MBA is around 25.000 – 30.000 EUR per year, for good quality MBA degrees from well-regarded Universities and Business Schools.

    Study-related costs

Computer or laptop, software, books, subscriptions to journals, travel costs for study-related trips are all study-related costs that can occur while doing an MBA. It is important to check what exactly the tuition fee comprises: sometimes the study material (like books, papers, etc.) is included in the tuition fee and sometimes not. These costs can easily go up to 10.000 EUR per year for certain programmes and it is in your own interest to know that in advance.

You can find it out from the website of the programme or by inquiring about it from students or alumni of the MBA programme you are interested in. On average, these costs are around 3.000 EUR per year.

    Accommodation and food

These costs are most of the time not included in the tuition fee. You have a choice between on-campus or off-campus accommodation, with on-campus being more convenient, but most of the times also more expensive. Off-campus accommodation can also be harder to find and you have to search for yourself, which can be quite time-consuming. This depends very much on the country and the city where you are doing your MBA and is on average 11.000 EUR per year.

    Lost salary

As most of the MBA students are young professionals, you have to consider the lost salary. For a 2-year MBA programme, a student loses a net of 48.000 EUR on average.

    So, considering MBA averages, the costs are around 25.000 + 3.000 + 11.000 = 39.000 EUR per year for a student, and 39.000 + 24.000 = 63.000 EUR per year for a young professional.

Luckily, there are ways to cut these costs down or to find financial support. See the article on how to finance an MBA for more details.

A very good way to save costs is to do a distance MBA. This can be partially or completely online. From tuition fee and study-related costs perspective, there is not much difference, but there is a difference when it comes to accommodation, food and opportunity costs. It usually is even more challenging to keep working while studying an MBA, but it is possible and highly appreciated by the employer market, as it denotes excellent multi-tasking capability, great time management skills and exceptional focus and learning aptitude.

What Are Car Insurance Rates for a Honda Civic LX? #honda

What Are Car Insurance Rates for a Honda Civic LX?

Written by James Hirby and Fact Checked by The Law Dictionary Staff

If you re in the market for a new or used car, you re probably also looking for reasonably-priced auto insurance. Since the cost of car insurance is determined by a range of different factors, it s difficult to generalize about it. Ultimately, your insurance costs will depend upon the make and model of the vehicle that you purchase as well as your driving history and certain other factors.

Even after you ve determined all of the pertinent variables, it s likely that you ll only be able to conjure up a ballpark estimate for your insurance costs. In order to determine the exact cost of your car insurance, you ll need to seek multiple quotes from different insurance providers. Of course, you ll need to do this after officially purchasing your car. If you already have a specific make and model in mind, it would be in your best interest to begin soliciting quotes for it right away.

The Honda Civic LX is not a particularly expensive vehicle. Although this trim type was popular during the 1990s and 2000s, it was discontinued after the 2012 model year. As such, it will become ever more difficult to find pristine Honda Civic LX vehicles. For the purposes of your insurance calculations, this will be a good thing: New or nearly-new cars that require substantial amounts of financing are typically subject to onerous insurance requirements.

This is because the lenders that provide financing for such vehicles want to ensure that they will be properly compensated in the event that the car is stolen. Most lenders require the vehicles that they finance to carry comprehensive insurance coverage that protects against virtually every eventuality.

If your Civic s resale value is low, you probably won t need to carry comprehensive coverage. This could save you hundreds of dollars per year. Without comprehensive coverage, your insurance costs will depend upon your past driving history, the property crime rates in your home state, and your age and level of driving experience. If your driving history is clean, you could save an additional $400 to $500 per year. Likewise, you ll save even more as an older, wiser driver. Local property crime rates can affect your auto insurance costs to a surprising degree as well: If your insurer judges that your vehicle is at risk of being stolen, it will charge you more to insure it. Of course, you ll need to begin soliciting quotes to get an exact picture of your future insurance costs.

Cost of Central Heating – Estimates and Prices Paid #central #heating,

    #

    Central Heating Cost

In a central heating system, heat is generated in one location and blown to the rest of the house through ducts. The heat source can be a furnace. a boiler that uses hot water and a coil to warm air or a heat pump (which may be paired with a furnace in colder climates); this heat source is typically located in a basement, garage or utility room.

    • In new house construction or as part of an extensive remodeling project where the walls are already torn open, installing a central heating system with either a gas furnace or a heat pump typically costs $10,000-$20,000 or more, depending on the size of the house, the complexity of the system (such as the number registers that release heat or the number of independent heating zones) and the type of unit. High-efficiency gas furnaces usually cost $500-$1,500 more than a standard model.
    • In a house with existing usable ductwork, replacing a gas furnace with another gas furnace can cost $1,700-$4,000 for basic installation of a standard-efficiency unit or $5,000-$7,000 for a more complex installation in an area with high labor rates; and $2,500-$6,000 for basic installation of a high-efficiency gas furnace or $7,000-$12,000 for a more complex project. If all the ductwork must be replaced or added inside intact walls, it can cost $2,700-$12,000 or more to install gas central heating with a standard-efficiency gas furnace and $3,500-$22,000 or more with a high-efficiency unit.
    • With existing usable ductwork, replacing an oil-fired furnace typically costs $2,000-$5,000 for a basic installation, but it can be $6,000-$10,000 or more for complex installations. If it’s necessary to add or completely replace ductwork, it can cost $3,000-$20,000 or more for a central heating system using an oil-fired furnace.
    • With existing usable ductwork, a replacement heat pump typically costs $2,000-$5,000 for an air-source heat pump for an average-size home in a moderate climate; $2,500-$5,500 for a dual-fuel air-source heat pump that works with a natural gas or propane furnace under a single control system (for colder climates); or $5,000-$10,000 or more for both an electric heat pump and the fossil-fuel furnace). If ductwork must be added or completely replaced, a central heating system using a heat pump can cost $3,000-$20,000 or more.

    What should be included:

    • It typically takes a day or two to replace the heat source in an existing central heating system, and a week or more to install a new central heating system, depending on the size and layout of the house and the complexity of the system. A replacement project should include removal and proper disposal of the old unit.

    Additional costs:

    • A building/mechanical permit is usually required to replace a furnace. Permit and inspection fees are typically about $50-$300, but can cost more in some locations. Many contractors include getting the proper permits and inspections as part of the installation process, but might bill for these fees separately.
    • Older ductwork might contain asbestos, creating unpredictable additional costs for asbestos removal .

    Discounts:

    • It might be possible to get a low-cost loan, rebate or tax credit for installing an energy-efficient central heating system. The database of State Incentives for Renewables & Energy Efficiency [1 ] tracks energy-efficiency incentives from utilities and from state, federal and local government agencies. For example, utility companies in Wisconsin [2 ] pay a $125 “reward” for installing a furnace with a 90% AFUE rating and $275 for a 95% model.
    • Try to schedule work in the spring or fall, when contractors typically have fewer emergency calls for heating or air conditioning work. It can be easier to get the work done and to get the lowest rates.

    Shopping for central heating:

    • The Environmental Protection Agency lists tips for hiring a heating and cooling contractor [3 ] .
    • Referrals are available from the North American Technician Excellence certification program [4 ] and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America [5 ] .
    • Request and check references; ask about length and type of experience; and be sure they are properly bonded, insured and licensed [6 ]. Check for complaints with the Better Business Bureau [7 ] .

Our hydro heat system was probably fine for a while more but the 19 year old original installation air conditioner (old type coolant) had developed a leak in part that is inside the air handler. Because the hydro was also 19 years old and had sprung a leak before, we decided to replace both. The price noted is for a 13 seer air and 8 whatever e heat rating thing is and included a completely new system except the ducts, and some electrical work to bring it up to current code (new shut off circuit at the system). A 3 man crew plus 2 electricians spent most of the day on the job.

    Efficiency: 95% Furn

Was provided three bids by AB May. The first is for a Trane system combination gas and heatpump. It was for a 95% furnace and a 16 seer 3 ton heatpump. The unit was also a two stage for further efficiency. This included install, humidifier, ionizing air filter which is reusable, cleaning of the existing ductwork for mold etc, programmable thermostat, and a 10 year parts and labor warranty as long as they come out and check the system twice a year costing $150.00 each year. The system would qualify for a $750.00 discount from the electric company, $225.00 discount from the Gas Company, and $500.00 worth of tax incentives. The price was $12,024 after rebates.
The second bid was for an identical system except from their house brand Everest which is a re-badged Goodman system. Still would qualify for the rebates same BTU and Seer rating. This was priced at $8,206 after rebates.
They also provided a bid for the most basic Trane system. This included a 95% furnace still, but only a 13 Seer single stage heat pump. The system only qualified for the $225.00 Gas Company discount. This was priced at $6,125 after the rabate.

Heating contractor had quoted an excellent price on a prior Rheem furnace job and showed very good followup, so I did not quote against him when he installed the new Rheem furnace in the main house. Just want to ce=heck the overall price to make sure that he is not getting all he benefits of the 30% tax credit and not me. It’s a Rheem RGRM 10, took out old furnace and re built sheet metal to plenum to attach to new one. Installed all. No new ducts, Used existing extra flue. Crew of 2 1/2, worked a little more than 1 1/2 days. How does the going dealer cost for a Rheem 100k but 2-stage 95% compare to cost of labor? Very roughly? Are we close to $5K.
