Cords: Emotional connections between individuals #metaphysics, #alchemy, #spiritual #awakening, #spiritual #transformation,

#

Cords are made of astral and etheric energy and connect two peoples subtle bodies. They stretch between two people very much like an umbilical cord and transfer emotional energy and chi between the two. It does not matter how far away the other person is, as the cord is not a physical substance and distance is irrelevant, so it is still effective from the other side of the planet.

All babies have a cord going from their belly to their mother after the physical umbilical cord is cut. Some may have extra cords going from the heart, solar plexus or even the head to various parts of the mothers energy body. The cord or cords that exist during infancy last for a few years and gradually drop off as the child becomes more independent from the mother and does not need the connection any more. Well ideally this would be the case, but here on Earth so many people have emotional issues that very often the cords can last well into adulthood. The cord is supposed to be there to support the baby but in actuality many mothers are emotionally needy and actually use the cord to nourish themselves from the babys fresh and abundant energy. Of course this is subconscious and the mother is not really meaning to do this. The baby is usually quite aware of what is happening and will even give the mother extra energy and emotional support through the cord at will. The baby is a very pure and loving being at this stage with only a small amount of astral incarnation and very little ego structure so they want to do all they can for the mother.

Unfortunately as the baby grows up it gradually loses its perception of such metaphysical things and so forgets about the cord. The transfer of emotional energy becomes subconscious for the child as well as the mother and continues to operate for possibly a very long time. Cords between mother and child that last for prolonged periods often cause serious friction between the two parties leading to dysfunctional feelings toward each other. The relationship will suffer as there is bound to be resentment and negative feelings. Imagine you have been drained of energy by your mother for 30 years through a cord that has become thick and gross with negative emotions and emotional neediness. You do not know exactly what is happening but you sense that somehow you are being drained by her. You move to another country to get away but wherever you go it almost feels like she is there with you – she is draining you from afar. This situation is just an example; there are many ways to interact through a cord.

Another common cord is between two lovers. Each wants to share their energy with the other and during sex this is amplified greatly. The feelings of love and sharing are often enough to build a cord. Often these cords are between the bellies but can be in other areas like the heart or solar plexus, etc. So when two people have been in an emotional relationship for a time there is a good chance that the two people have a cord. Depending on the emotional issues of the two, the cord can become gross or can stay fairly clean and be a good thing which helps the two with emotional nurturing. If one partner is needy it is likely that they will drain the other which could eventually lead to resentment by the drained partner. Some cords that become too gross can cause serious problems for a couple and could certainly lead to a break-up. Clearing a cord can help alleviate the emotional intensity so the couple can progress to a more balanced relationship. If a breakup does occur, the cord may stay for a long time and continue to operate, making it hard to let go and to move on with another partner. In this case clearing the cord can do wonders.

Cords can be created between any two people or even groups of people that have emotional relationships. Friends, workmates, enemies can all have cords. They can be used by entities and other dimensional beings to connect with us and drain our energy. It is possible to send a cord to someone you don’t know if you really want to get to know them. For example say you fall in love with someone but have not yet talked to them. It is possible that your desire to have them may send a cord into their energy. It is also possible to consciously create a cord to another person but this is in the domain of black magic. You should never use psychic means to purposely control or affect anothers energy without their permission. There are no exemptions from this rule and the karmic repercussions are enormous!

There are many types but whatever the case a cord is basically a connection between the astral and etheric bodies of two or more beings which allows for an exchange of emotional and/or etheric energy.

Fortunately all cords can be cleared fairly easily. It only takes one of the people to clear the cord and it will be cleared from the other. Through the practices learned in Past Life – Regression you can become aware of all your cords and learn to clear them. Interestingly while exploring a cord you can remember when and how it was created, how you felt about it and how it has been operating while it was there. Often cords can be seen and felt very tangibly and their effects become very apparent. As you enter the subconscious through the Third Eye you can actually remember what was happening in your subconscious during any part of your life. These can be excellent lessons in self exploration. TXU, Oncor Owners File for Bankruptcy

Energy Future Holdings filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in a Delaware court on Tuesday after agreeing with key financial stakeholders to keep its power-producing businesses operating in Texas while it reduces roughly $40 billion in debt.

The company owns TXU Energy, a retail electricity provider, and Luminant, the state’s largest power generator, but the bankruptcy is not likely to have a short-term impact on consumers because the distribution and production will continue normally. In the long term, however, analysts and experts have suggested the company’s reliance on coal could diminish as it becomes more costly to meet federal clean air regulations, which could lead to the shutdown of old facilities.

Future Holdings has been struggling to pay the interest and loans taken to acquire TXU Energy in 2007 and the company’s bankruptcy has been expected for months. It had bet on a rise in natural gas prices, helping to repay the debt, but a glut of U.S. shale production has led prices to plummet, hurting Future Holding’s bottomline and its ability to fulfill its debt obligation. Recently, the company skipped a deadline to pay $109 million in interest.

State agencies, including the manager of Texas’ power grid and the Railroad Commission, the agency that awards mining permits, have been closely monitoring the company in recent months as the bankruptcy filing loomed.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, which manages the state’s grid and the flow of power to 23 million customers in Texas, said in a statement Tuesday it is focused on maintaining system reliability and market efficiency as the restructuring moves forward. It said it understands operations will continue as normal and it does not have immediate concerns.

It is our understanding that EFH and its affected subsidiaries expect to continue operating generation assets and serving retail customers in Texas, ERCOT said in its statement, noting that the company’s transmission business, Oncor, is not included in the bankruptcy filing. Therefore, ERCOT sees no immediate concerns related to system reliability or market efficiency associated with this filing.

A Texas’ Public Utility Commission statement said it did not foresee any power generation and distribution issues resulting from the bankruptcy.

The Railroad Commission, meanwhile, announced that once the filing occurred, Luminant Mining Co. the arm that scours the earth to remove the soft, lignite coal used for power generation in several Texas plants, would no longer be allowed to participate in a self-bonding reclamation program. This program allows companies that have $10 million and other assets not to put up cash in advance for required restoration of mined land.

Now, though, Luminant will have to set aside nearly $1 billion to restore land to its original condition.

The era of self-bonding by Luminant Mining appears to be over and rather than the taxpayers of Texas having to rely on a promise and a wink and a nod, there will actually be over $1 billion set aside in the Railroad Commission for restoration, so it’s a good first step, said Al Armendariz, Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal senior campaign representative. You’re already seeing some environmental benefits from the restructuring.

The Railroad Commission did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment. It remains unclear whether the company has already set aside the reclamation funds.

As part of the restructuring, Dallas-based Energy Future Holding said it will separate its Texas Competitive Electric Holdings Co. subsidiary, which includes TXU Energy, and give preferred lenders complete ownership in that reorganized business. It also will give lenders cash proceeds from new debt in exchange for eliminating about $23 billion of Texas Competitive Holdings’ funded debt.

Energy Future will still own Energy Future Intermediate Holding Co. and keep its interest in Oncor Electric Delivery Co. a power transmission business, which is not part of the reorganization.

It said it expects day-to-day operations to continue during the reorganization. That includes provision of power to customers, the payment of wages and benefits, and payments to vendors. Energy Future expects to leave its restructuring in about 11 months.

The holding company was acquired in 2007 by private-equity firms KKR Co. TPG Capital and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners.

Renewable energy – European Commission #energy, #european #commission, #european #union, #eu

Renewable energy

Renewable energy

Overview

Renewable energy can be produced from a wide variety of sources including wind, solar, hydro, tidal, geothermal, and biomass. By using more renewables to meet its energy needs, the EU lowers its dependence on imported fossil fuels and makes its energy production more sustainable. The renewable energy industry also drives technological innovation and employment across Europe.

2020 renewable energy targets

The EU’s Renewable energy directive sets a binding target of 20% final energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020. To achieve this, EU countries have committed to reaching their own national renewables targets ranging from 10% in Malta to 49% in Sweden. They are also each required to have at least 10% of their transport fuels come from renewable sources by 2020.

All EU countries have adopted national renewable energy action plans showing what actions they intend to take to meet their renewables targets. These plans include sectorial targets for electricity, heating and cooling, and transport; planned policy measures; the different mix of renewables technologies they expect to employ; and the planned use of cooperation mechanisms .

A new target for 2030

Renewables will continue to play a key role in helping the EU meet its energy needs beyond 2020. EU countries have already agreed on a new renewable energy target of at least 27% of final energy consumption in the EU as a whole by 2030 as part of the EU’s energy and climate goals for 2030 .

On 30 November 2016, the Commission published a proposal for a revised Renewable Energy Directive to make the EU a global leader in renewable energy and ensure that the 2030 target is met.

Support schemes for renewables

Public interventions such as support schemes remain necessary to make certain renewable energy technologies competitive. To avoid distorting energy prices and the market however, these schemes should be time-limited and carefully designed. The EU has issued guidance on support schemes to help governments when they design or revise support schemes.

Progress reports

Every two years, the EU publishes a renewable energy progress report .

The 2017 report states that the EU as a whole achieved a 16% share of renewable energy in 2014 and an estimated 16.4% share in 2015. The vast majority of EU countries are well on track to reach their 2020 binding targets for renewable energy.

This report was published in February 2017 alongside the Second State of the Energy Union report.

Transparency Platform

Under the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive, the European Commission must keep a ‘transparency platform’. This allows public access to national and Commission documents relating to renewable energy.

Ethanol: Pros ?>

#

Pros

Positive Net Energy Balance – Corn-based ethanol has a positive net energy balance of 1.06btu per gallon for 1.00btu of energy used without ethanol by-product credits. With these credits, for things such as DDGS, corn-based ethanol has a positive net energy balance of 1.67btu per gallon for 1.00btu of energy used.

Biodegradable – As ethanol is made with organic materials it is highly biodegradable making spills far less worrysome than petroleum spills. When spilled, 74% of ethanol is broken down within 5 days.

Usable By-Products – The two chief by-products of corn-based ethanol are CO2 and DDGS, both of which are usable in other industries. The CO2 can be captured for use in the food and beverage industry. DDGS can be used for cattle feed or further crushed to extract corn oil, for food or biodiesel production uses.

Most Infrastructure In-place – There are few changes that would need to be made to widely adopt ethanol. Most automobiles available in the U.S. are Flex Fuel capable and there are roughly 2,000 stations already serving E85. While most of these stations are lumped in the Midwest, they are increasing nationwide.

Cons

Food vs. Fuel – 2.4 to 2.8 gallons of ethanol can be produced per bushel of corn. As a result, there has been massive media coverage over the use of food as fuel. While there are mountains of findings showing how the use of corn has increased food costs and equal amounts showing it does not, in the end food crops are being used as fuel, making corn-based ethanol inferior to cellulosic ethanol in this regard.

Reduced MPG – Based on 2009 flex fuel vehicles, E85 miles per gallon is expected to be roughly 28.5% lower in the city and 26.5% lower on the highway. This means it takes 1.35 to 1.40 gallons of E85 to equal the mileage of 1.00 gallons of gasoline.

Fuel Transportation – Ethanol absorbs water and is corrosive. which make it difficult to ship through existing pipelines from the Midwest of the U.S. where most production occurs. Remedies include shipping or building dedicated ethanol pipelines, however the most likely scenario seems to involve rail or road transport. The best scenario would be local ethanol plants, with the easiest way to accomplish this through continued development of cellulosic ethanol, where feedstocks are abundant everywhere as opposed to corn or sugar.

Water Absorbtion – Ethanol absorbs water, which can contaminate it as a fuel and makes it more difficult to ship through pipelines. As a result, ethanol has a shorter shelf and tank life than gasoline.

Fueling Locations – There are roughly 2,000 E85 fueling stations in the U.S. with the majority in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. A U.S. E85 fueling station map and locator can be found here.

‘Worst kind of company’: Alarm in Britain over Macquarie Bank’s proposed takeover of UK’s Green Investment Bank

Banks admit breaking cartel laws

London: A bipartisan coalition of former and serving British MPs has raised alarm about Macquarie Bank buying up the UK’s Green Investment Bank, with the former business secretary saying the Australian investment bank is the “worst kind of company” to be acquiring the £2 billion ($3.4 billion) fund.

MPs expressed fears that Macquarie Bank, known in Australia as the “millionaires factory”, would acquire the Green Investment Bank (GIB) only to strip it of its most profitable parts, abandoning its environmental purpose. Initially Parliamentarians had feared that if owned privately the Green Bank would expand beyond its remit. But sources said that with Macquarie Bank as the likely owner, the fear is now that the Green Bank will be chopped up and sold off according to its financing arrangements, a practice known as “asset stripping” which would trigger a flight of staff and destroy the Bank’s ability to carry out it’s green mission.

The British government had been expected to announce by the end of 2016 who would purchase the GIB, which the tory government, under the leadership of the then Prime Minister David Cameron announced would be privatised in June 2015. The formal sell-off process began in March and Australia’s Macquarie Bank is poised to be announced as the winning bidder. Bloomberg on Wednesday, citing a source familiar with the process, reported the UK government is set to agree to a deal to sell the GIB to Macquarie Group in early January .

But that prospect has alarmed some MPs who say Macquarie Bank’s past behaviour disqualified it to look after the green bank.

The former Tory minister for energy and climate change Gregory Barker who helped create the Bank has called for an urgent halt to the privatisation process.

“Am increasingly alarmed that sale of #GIB will now see it broken up so much it threatens its future as enduring institution,” he wrote on Twitter.

In 2013, Britain’s influential Sunday Times published an article calling Macquarie Bank “the vampire kangaroo” over the Macquarie-led consortium’s management of Thames Water which it acquired in 2006 .

The former Liberal Democrat MP Simon Hughes told the paper that under Macquarie “Thames has paid out large dividends, run down its capital [and] not paid taxes.”

Former Liberal Democrat MP and secretary of state for business Sir Vince Cable echoed this, telling Fairfax Media the Australian investment bank was “notorious for pursuing short-term profitability at the expense of long-term sustainability”.

This is the worst kind of company to be entrusting maintaining the integrity and green mission of the bank.

Britain’s Former Secretary of State for Business Vince Cable

“This is the worst kind of company to be entrusting maintaining the integrity and green mission of the bank,” he said.

Sir Vince said while he opposed the privatisation of the bank, he would prefer a different company to Macquarie if the sale had to go ahead.

“A company whose track record is better aligned with the objectives of the bank,” he said.

He also proposed a “golden share arrangement” where the UK government would be able to force Macquarie to uphold the Bank’s green mission.

“But if it did so I suspect that Macquarie would no longer be interested,” he said.

Sir Vince said he believed the Tory government was having second thoughts about offloading the bank to Macquarie, fearing “reputational damage”.

The Labour MP and opposition spokesman for business, energy and industrial strategy, Clive Lewis, also backed a golden share arrangement “to ensure beyond any doubt that the bank will be retained as a single institution … even if it causes Macquarie to pull out of the deal.”

“If it’s broken up, sold off and its green commitments forgotten, not only will the taxpayer lose the healthy returns the GIB has been providing, but the UK risks breaching international and domestic climate targets,” he said.

And the first Greens MP elected to Britain’s parliament, Caroline Lucas, said Macquarie Bank had a track record of supporting “climate-wrecking projects”.

“The government’s preferred bidders, Macquarie, are an Australian-based bank funding fossil fuel extraction projects across the world. From open-cast coal mines in China to fracking here in the UK, Macquarie has a track record of [supporting] climate-wrecking projects.”

Fairfax Media approached Maquarie Bank in London for a response to the MPs concerns but the bank said it would not be commenting.

The UK’s Green Investment Bank began investing in green energy and infrastructure projects in 2012, making it the first green bank in the world at the time.

Australia’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation, established by the former Labor Gillard government in 2012, mimics the bank.

Both banks take a commercial approach to financing clean energy projects which would otherwise struggle to find private sector funding.

The CEFC said in July this year that since its inception in 2013 it has invested $2.3 billion in projects with a total value of $6.6 billion.

The GIB says it has funded £2.7 billion worth of a total £11.1 billion worth of transactions in the green economy. In 2015 it began turning a profit.

active solar energy system

An active solar energy system is a solar water or space-heating system that uses pumps or fans to circulate the fluid from the solar collectors to a storage tank subsystem. There are two basic types of active solar heating systems based on the type of fluid either liquid or air that is heated in the solar energy collectors. Liquid-based systems heat water or an antifreeze solution in a “hydronic” collector, whereas air-based systems heat air in an air collector.

Both of these systems collect and absorb solar radiation. then transfer the solar heat directly to the interior space or to a storage system, from which the heat is distributed. If the system cannot provide adequate space heating, an auxiliary or back-up system provides the additional heat. Liquid systems are more often used when storage is included, and are well suited for radiant heating systems. boilers with hot water radiators, and even absorption heat pumps and coolers. Both air and liquid systems can supplement forced air systems. To learn more about these two types of active solar heating, see the following sections:

  • solar air heating
  • solar liquid heating

Economics and other benefits of active solar heating systems

Active solar heating systems are most cost-effective when they are used for most of the year, that is, in cold climates with good solar resources. They are most economical if they are displacing more expensive heating fuels, such as electricity, propane, and oil heat. Some states offer sales tax exemptions, income tax credits or deductions, and property tax exemptions or deductions for solar energy systems so that is good information to have handy when you are filing your taxes for the year. It could essentially reimburse you for quite a bit of the cost of the system.

The cost of an active solar heating system will vary. Commercial systems range from $30 to $80 per square foot of collector area, installed. Usually, the larger the system, the less it costs per unit of collector area. Commercially available collectors come with warranties of 10 years or more, and should easily last decades longer. The economics of an active space heating system improve if it also heats domestic water, because an otherwise idle collector can heat water in the summer.

Heating your home with an active solar energy system can significantly reduce your fuel bills in the winter. A solar heating system will also reduce the amount of air pollution and greenhouse gases that result from your use of fossil fuels such as oil, propane, and natural gas for heating or that may be used to generate the electricity that you use.

Selecting and sizing a solar heating system

Selecting the appropriate solar energy system depends on factors such as the site, design, and heating needs of your house. Local covenants may restrict your options; for example homeowner associations may not allow you to install solar collectors on certain parts of your house (although many homeowners have been successful in challenging such covenants).

The local climate, the type and efficiency of the collector(s), and the collector area determine how much heat a solar heating system can provide. It is usually most economical to design an active system to provide 40%80% of the home’s heating needs. Systems providing less than 40% of the heat needed for a home are rarely cost-effective except when using solar air heater collectors that heat one or two rooms and require no heat storage. A well-designed and insulated home that incorporates passive solar heating techniques will require a smaller and less costly heating system of any type, and may need very little supplemental heat other than solar.

Besides the fact that designing an active system to supply enough heat 100% of the time is generally not practical or cost effective, most building codes and mortgage lenders require a back-up heating system. Supplementary or back-up systems supply heat when the solar system can not meet heating requirements. They can range from a wood stove to a conventional central heating system.

Controls for solar heating systems

Controls for solar heating systems are usually more complex than those of a conventional heating system, because they have to analyze more signals and control more devices (including the conventional, backup heating system). Solar controls use sensors, switches, and/or motors to operate the system. The system uses other controls to prevent freezing or extremely high temperatures in the collectors.

The heart of the control system is a differential thermostat, which measures the difference in temperature between the collectors and storage unit. When the collectors are 1020F (5.611C) warmer than the storage unit, the thermostat turns on a pump or fan to circulate water or air through the collector to heat the storage medium or the house.

The operation, performance, and cost of these controls vary. Some control systems monitor the temperature in different parts of the system to help determine how it is operating. The most sophisticated systems use microprocessors to control and optimize heat transfer and delivery to storage and zones of the house.

It is possible to use a solar panel to power low voltage, direct current (DC) blowers (for air collectors) or pumps (for liquid collectors). The output of the solar panels matches available solar heat gain to the solar collector. With careful sizing, the blower or pump speed is optimized for efficient solar gain to the working fluid. During low sun conditions the blower or pump speed is slow, and during high solar gain, they run faster.

When used with a room air collector, separate controls may not be necessary. This also ensures that the system will operate in the event of utility power outage. A solar power system with battery storage can also provide power to operate a central heating system, though this is expensive for large systems.

Building codes, covenants, and regulations for solar heating systems

Before installing a solar energy system, you should investigate local building codes, zoning ordinances, and subdivision covenants, as well as any special regulations pertaining to the site. You will probably need a building permit to install a solar energy system onto an existing building.

Not every community or municipality initially welcomes residential renewable energy installations. Although this is often due to ignorance or the comparative novelty of renewable energy systems, you must comply with existing building and permit procedures to install your system.

The matter of building code and zoning compliance for a solar system installation is typically a local issue. Even if a statewide building code is in effect, it’s usually enforced locally by your city, county, or parish. Common problems homeowners have encountered with building codes include the following:

  • Exceeding roof load
  • Unacceptable heat exchangers
  • Improper wiring
  • Unlawful tampering with potable water supplies

Potential zoning issues include these:

  • Obstructing sideyards
  • Erecting unlawful protrusions on roofs
  • Siting the system too close to streets or lot boundaries

Special area regulations such as local community, subdivision, or homeowner’s association covenants also demand compliance. These covenants, historic district regulations, and flood-plain provisions can easily be overlooked. To find out what’s needed for local compliance, contact your local jurisdiction’s zoning and building enforcement divisions and any appropriate homeowner’s, subdivision, neighborhood, and/or community association(s).

Installing and maintaining your solar heating system

How well an active solar energy system performs depends on effective siting, system design, and installation, and the quality and durability of the components. The collectors and controls now manufactured are of high quality. The biggest factor now is finding an experienced contractor who can properly design and install the system.

Once a system is in place, it has to be properly maintained to optimize its performance and avoid breakdowns. Different systems require different types of maintenance, but you should figure on 816 hours of maintenance annually. You should set up a calendar with a list of maintenance tasks that the component manufacturers and installer recommends.

Most solar water heaters are automatically covered under your homeowner’s insurance policy. However, damage from freezing is generally not. Contact your insurance provider to find out what its policy is. Even if your provider will cover your system, it is best to inform them in writing that you own a new system.
