Cheap Flights to Las Vegas, NV – Find Deals on Flights

Cheap Flights to Las Vegas, NV

Best Time to Fly to Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a year-round destination and travelers can always find airfare deals on Las Vegas flights. However, there are particular times of the year when Las Vegas is at its peak and when travelers can best the Las Vegas flight and hotel deals.

Fall and winter are peak seasons in Las Vegas and when most people book Las Vegas flights. New Year’s celebrations are world-renowned so if you’re planning to party in Las Vegas for New Year’s it’s best to book flights and hotels in advance. Las Vegas is also a big business conference and expo site. If you’re planning a Las Vegas vacation you’ll want to check ahead and see if any conferences are taking place when you plan your Las Vegas trip. Hotels and airline tickets can be more expensive if there is an international conference taking place.

Summer in the desert is hot and the Las Vegas Strip is no exception. Thankfully, the hotels and casinos are air-conditioned so Las Vegas tourists can seek relief from the desert heat. If you plan to travel to Las Vegas in the summertime, bring light clothes and plenty of sunscreen. It’s hot and humid, but summer is also the best time to find tickets to Las Vegas and discounted Las Vegas hotel and resort rates.

Why you should take a flight to Las Vegas

Blackjack tables, showgirls, neon lights and Elvis imitators — you can find it all when you book a flight to Las Vegas. Back in the day, Las Vegas served as the playground to everyone from Marilyn Monroe to the Rat Pack: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. Dean Martin, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. It’s where Elvis Presley first sang Viva Las Vegas in 1969, and where couples in love eloped and pressed their luck at the blackjack tables. Book an airline ticket to Las Vegas to see it all.

Vegas vacations start on the ride to Las Vegas. Upon booking Las Vegas flights, the odds are already in favor of having a good time. The plane lands at McCarran International Airport, where visitors are greeted by bright lights and the loud change-making noise of the slot machines – an inviting entrance into Sin City.

But when you step off your plane, you’ll see more than just gaming. The city boasts more churches per capita than any other city in America, which is no surprise since many Las Vegas flights are booked with the idea of matrimony in mind. Cheap plane tickets to Las Vegas can be found year-round, leaving tourists plenty of money to spend on hotels and entertainment in the city. There are more than 100 hotels in Las Vegas. On the Las Vegas Strip, the most popular hotels include the Mirage, the Venetian, the Bellagio, the Hard Rock, the Sahara, Paris Las Vegas, Caesars Palace, The MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay. Budget-conscience travelers can find flights to Las Vegas and cheap hotels off the Strip, including the Green Valley Ranch and Fairfield Desert Resort, leaving a little extra room in the checkbook for loving the Las Vegas scene.

While the days of Elvis and Frank have ended, the Las Vegas legacy lives on. Today, Las Vegas flights open the gates to Broadway shows and Grammy-award winning entertainers. Luxury retail stores open daily along the Las Vegas Strip, and adults craving a lifestyle of decadence indulge in five-star restaurants and midnight buffets on the casino floor. Las Vegas has, and always will be, the heartbeat of the desert.

What happens here stays here, so once you board your return Las Vegas flight, you’re off the hook.

Vegas is hopping 52 weeks a year, but certain Las Vegas events bring out the VIPs in full force. Jet-setters book Las Vegas flights to celebrate in style during holiday weekends, especially New Year’s Eve. Gamblers and sports fans find cheap Las Vegas airfare for the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby and March Madness. Keep your eyes out during spring and summer weekends, when Las Vegas tickets are filled with bachelor and bachelorette parties starting their celebrations even before the plane touches down.

Las Vegas climate

No matter when you fly to the desert, it’s going to be hot, and Las Vegas is no exception. Summers in Las Vegas are blistering, but if you can handle the heat you’ll likely find tickets to Las Vegas abundant during the summer months. The temperature reaches over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, but the air is dry so the humidity is low. Winter is a bit cooler with temperatures maxing out around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Rarely does Las Vegas see intense rain, but showers do occur.

Easy Methods to Find Cheap Flights – Practical Travel Gear #travel

#where can i find the cheapest airline tickets
#

Join Practical Travel Gears Insider Deals

One of the most frustrating things travels need to deal with on a regular basis is the expensive cost of plane tickets. Ticket prices seem to continually rise, and no matter what airlines may claim, it’s common knowledge most travelers aren’t really getting the cheapest prices.

If you are planning to travel soon, here are some easy methods to find cheaper flights:

Be willing to fly at all times: Flying at different times of the day can save you a few bucks. Early morning or late night flights are the cheapest flights, and anything during the day is going to cost you more.

Fly on a different day: Changing the day can make a huge difference. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are significantly cheaper than flying on a Friday or Saturday, so consider changing the day if you can.

Pack lighter: Sometimes you need to think to yourself, do you really need all that stuff? Learning to pack lighter so you can avoid baggage and handling fees will save you $30, 40, or even $50.

Delete your browser history: Travel websites are notorious for hiking prices if you’ve already been searching for prices. Deleting your browser history can be a great way to make sure that you are seeing the cheapest prices available for flights.

Avoid the holidays: Any time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s is a bad time to fly. Airlines know that can jack up their prices because they know travelers have little other options to travel to visit their families.

Consider other transportation: At the end of the day, the best way to save money may be to avoid flying all together. If you can find a train or bus, you can save hundreds by not flying. It may take longer, but at least you’ll save money.

5 Ways to Find Travel Deals Using Social Media

By Erica Swallow 2012-02-07 08:49:57 UTC

Finding travel deals on the Internet seems to get easier and more fun each year.

It used to be that you’d have to book directly through airlines and hotels, and then came the aggregators. Sites like Orbitz and Priceline made prices more transparent — and deal seekers rejoiced.

Now, there are tons of web and mobile applications that specialize in travel, and social media is making easier than ever for travelers to plan, book and share details about their travel itineraries.

The world of social media travel deals is ever-changing, so we’re glad to present you with the latest information on how to find travel deals using social media. Read on for five hot tips, and let us know your deal seeking strategies in the comments below.

1. Stay on Top of Twitter Deals

Finding travel deals on Twitter is all about following the right accounts, utilizing search and acting fast when the right deal pops up.

For starters, follow — or make a Twitter list of — the airlines you often fly and the hotels you often book. Wanderlisting is a great resource for finding not only airlines and hotels on Twitter, but also travel bloggers, publications and tips. Just a heads-up, JetBlue and Virgin Atlantic are known to tweet out some pretty sweet deals, too.

But you don’t always have to be on Twitter to reap the rewards of its service. FareCompare.com enables users to receive real-time tweets when airfare prices drop from their home airport — or you can simply browse its web app for deals.

If following isn’t working out for you, try searching Twitter. A quick search for “NYC travel deals,” for example, yields a number of relevant tweets, including one from Travelzoo. promoting NYC hotel deals, and another from the L.A. Times promoting a Valentine’s Day dinner deal in New York.

If you’re really not sure where you’d like to go, the hashtag #traveldeals is always a good fallback.

2. Use Facebook for Loyalty Reward Programs

While you could follow airlines, hotels and deal sites on Facebook. we don’t recommend clogging up your stream with travel deals. The occasional “like” for your favorite travel companies is enough.

In general, Facebook doesn’t offer many good experiences for finding deals and booking travel. While a number of airlines — including Alaska Airlines and Malaysia Airlines — have Facebook apps that help you book flights, you’re not going to get the best deals if you’re searching just one airline.

If serendipity presents you with a great deal, that’s wonderful. Otherwise, keep your Facebook travel deal searching to a minimum. You’re better off using the usual web apps of choice — Kayak. Orbitz. Hipmunk and Airbnb. among others.

That being said, Facebook does come in handy when you’re a member of a hotel or airline’s loyalty membership program. If you are a Hilton HHonors member or Starwood Preferred Guest. for example, it’s a great idea to “like” the program’s Facebook Page and sit back while offers roll in.

If you’re seriously addicted to Facebook, though, you should try out Airbnb’s Facebook app. which enables users to find and rent homes around the world.

3. Get Social Recommendations

There are a number of apps — such as Gogobot — that enable users to pull travel advice from their social graphs.

Check out the latest on the block, Trippy. It lets you get your friends’ recommendations for places to visit and things to do when you’re planning a trip. After all, it’s great to get a recommendation from a friend who has already traveled the road you’re about to take. Once a trip is planned, the user can even check rates or book the trip right from Trippy’s platform.

This strategy should be used in tandem with other deal searches, though — while it could lead to finding the best recommendations from your friends, they may not be the cheapest.

4. Forums Still Count

While you don’t hear about forums much anymore — mostly due to the fact that they’re horribly designed and difficult to navigate — they can still be useful, especially for the travel-deal hunter.

For all the latest news and gossip regarding loyalty reward programs and travel deals, check out FlyerTalk. which deems itself “the world’s most popular frequent flyer community.” This savvy group of travelers will have you snatching up great deals in no time.

5. Last-Minute Lodging Deals

If you fly by the seat of your pants and have arrived in your destination city without a place to stay, there are a number of options for booking last-minute lodging. For starters, check out HotelTonight. an app that enables you to book a room at discounts of up to 70%.

Likewise, you could try using Airbnb’s iPhone app. which has a button appropriately labeled “Help! I need a place tonight!” You could also try the standby feature if you can’t find an Airbnb spot — this prompts local homeowners to send offers your way, usually at lower rates than they usually charge.

And lastly, don’t forget Foursquare. While it’s unlikely that you’ll find discounted hotel prices, you could discover some other sweet perks. I did a quick search for on Foursquare for hotels within 10 miles, and I found a special for 1,000 Priority Club Rewards Bonus Points for checking in three times at the Crowne Plaza in Times Square. For the right person, loyalty points could be a better deal than a discounted bill. Not too shabby, right?

10 Ways to Find Cheap Thanksgiving Flights – Johnny Jet #travel

10 Ways to Find Cheap Thanksgiving Flights

All my friends keep asking me how they can find cheap Thanksgiving flights. I feel like saying, don’t you remember what I told you last year and the year before? Hello. Strategies don’t change that much just the dates. Instead of losing my voice and mind, I created this guide so I can just send them the link.

For starters, the airlines are expecting to have full planes over the 12-day holiday period. But don’t sweat if you haven’t bought your tickets yet you will be happy to know that I haven’t either. And I’m not that worried because I always have a few tricks up my sleeve on how to save money.

10 Ways to Find Cheap Thanksgiving Flights

1. Be flexible

The key to finding cheap Thanksgiving flights is to be flexible with your days. If you aren’t flexible, then you aren’t going to get a deal and you can stop reading right now. It’s not that difficult to figure out that the most expensive time to fly is when everyone else is too. For example, everyone and their brother wants to leave the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and return on the Sunday or Monday after. I see you agreeing but guess what? You aren’t going to get a deal on those days so just stop trying.

That means the deals are going to be either the week before or the Sunday or Monday before (depending on the destination), Thanksgiving Day and returning on Friday or the following Tuesday or better yet Wednesday after turkey day. To prove my point I ran a flexible search on ITA Software (below) for round-trip non-stop flights from Miami to New York for a four night stay and you can see which days are the cheapest to travel.

Keep in mind the airlines are expecting the busiest days to be Sunday, December 1, and Monday, December 2. The best day to fly will be Thanksgiving Day (November 28).

2. Consider the time of day

Everyone wants to leave after work and school so when doing your flight search don’t put a specific time. Generally, the most expensive times to fly are peak business travel hours (8 to 10 am and 5 to 7 pm). Cheaper seats tend to depart early in the morning (5 to 7 am) or late in the evening (after 8 pm). NOTE: By leaving early in the morning you have the best chance of not getting delayed.

3. Alternate airports

Not only do you want to be flexible with dates and times but be flexible with airports too. For example, rather than flying into (or out of) Miami when going to South Florida, check out Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) it s 25 miles north and usually much cheaper. You can also check out West Palm Beach, which is another 49 miles away. To help you with all the major U.S. alternative airports (by actual driving miles), I created a website called AlternateAirports.com. To see what I m talking about, see the flexible search for flights from NYC to FLL below.

4. Consider making a stop

Sometimes booking a flight that has a connection as opposed to flying nonstop can save you money. But you have to ask yourself if it s really worth it. If it’s hundreds of dollars then yes, but if it’s just $20 do you really want to increase your chances of getting delayed or stuck? And be sure to avoid making connections in airports that have a terrible on-time track record like San Francisco, Chicago O’Hare or all of New York’s airports. Here’s a link to an airport and airline scorecard to help you make a good decision.

5. Search tools

Everyone knows there’s not one website out there that has the absolute cheapest price for airfares, hotels, car rentals, cruises and package deals so the trick is to do your research and check them all to see who has the best deal at that moment in time. That’s one of the reasons why I created JohnnyJet.com to begin with.

We now have a new search engine  (below) where all you have to do is input your city pairs and dates and click check rates. Six windows will open up as they simultaneously search a variety of travel websites like Expedia, Priceline and TripAdvisor. It not only saves you time but money. Check it out for yourself!

7. Speak to a human

You never know if an airline representative can find a better deal but in my experience, it’s usually only worth it (most charge a $25 fee) when booking a mileage award ticket since they can check partner airlines and alternate cities much quicker. To get in touch with your airline I created AirlineNumbers.com that lists all of the airline’s phone numbers and websites. To bypass the airlines annoying and time consuming automated prompts, log on to GetHuman.com .

8. Use frequent flier miles

It’s almost impossible to use your frequent flier miles during the holidays unless you are flexible with dates or are willing to use double or triple the usual amount. I don’t recommend the latter but last year I used 12,500 American miles to fly from Toronto to Los Angeles the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. If I left Sunday or Monday before it was double.

9. Hidden cities

This hidden city trick is against airline policy so you didn t learn it from me. But once I needed to get to Cleveland from L.A. and a nonstop one-way ticket was $600. I took my own advice and searched alternate airports and when I found a ticket to Buffalo for only $230 I noticed the flight first stops in Cleveland ON THAT SAME EXACT $600 flight. I know it makes no sense since Buffalo is farther from Cleveland and you have to take two flights instead of one but that’s the airlines for you.

If I wanted to break airline policy I could ve just gotten off in Cleveland and let my connecting ticket to BUF go to waste. But if I did that I would ve bought a one-way ticket, made sure not to check bags or put in my mileage account number. Remember I’m not recommending this and if you do it a lot you WILL get caught.

Find Cheap Flights to Paris

Cheap Flights to Paris

Paris, France, ‘The City of Lights,’ is one of the world’s top tourist destinations with over 45 million visitors annually. Paris offers an unrivaled cultural experience coupled with all the amenities of a major metropolitan area. The home to world-renowned attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, L’Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay, to name a few, Paris has long been considered a mecca for travelers all over the world.

Paris boasts a collection of world-renowned attractions including museums, cathedrals, historical landmarks, opera houses, and public gardens. Long considered to be a romantic destination, Paris also does a great job of catering to families as evidenced by the success of Disneyland Paris.

Without a doubt, the Eiffel Tower is the most iconic attraction in Paris. Erected in 1889, originally as an entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair, the Eiffel Tower draws over 6 million visitors each year and features two restaurants.

The Louvre is arguably the most famous art museum in the world. With prominent pieces such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo statue, the Louvre is universally enjoyed by art enthusiasts and laypeople alike. Other popular museums in Paris include the Musée Cluny and the Musée d’Orsay, which houses arguably the best impressionist collection in the world.

The Arc de Triomphe, which honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars, is the linchpin of the Parisian historical axis and is an immensely popular attraction for tourists visiting Paris. From the top one can enjoy a panoramic view of Paris which provides for views of the twelve major avenues leading to the Place de l’Étoile.

Another major attraction in Paris is the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. Located on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité and one of the first gothic cathedrals ever built, the Note Dame cathedral draws more than 12 million visitors annually. Many believe the Notre Dame Cathedral presents the best example of fine French gothic architecture, yet it certainly does not take an architect to recognize the beauty of this historic cathedral.

In addition to the aforementioned attractions Paris also prides itself on its distinguished gourmet cuisine. Over 9,000 restaurants exist in Paris, including many high-quality options boasting Michelin guide ratings. Adventurous eaters can even sample frogs’ legs and snails, which are considered delicacies in France.

When to Go

Summer months are the peak tourist season in Paris and also tend to be the most expensive for travel. Tourists seeking to avoid long lines and huge crowds at popular attractions should consider visiting Paris in the winter months when tourism drops off substantially. Cost-conscious travelers can also snap up cheaper airfares and hotel deals in the colder winter months.

How to Get There

Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), also known as Roissy Airport, is France’s main airport and serves as the principal hub for Air France. It is Europe’s busiest airport and can be reached from most all airports worldwide, including a number of non-stop flights from New York. Orly Airport (ORY) is a slightly smaller airport that also services Paris. Transportation from the aforementioned airports to Paris’ city-center is available by suburban train or bus service, each for about 9€, and by shuttles which are slightly more expensive. Taxi fare from Charles de Gaulle airport to Paris’ center is approximately 40€ and taxi fare from Orly Airport to Paris’ city center is about 30€.

Must See

Paris has a seemingly endless number of attractions for each and every type of traveler; however, there are a few that are not to be missed under any circumstances. Seasoned travelers and locals alike agree on the following recommendations, in no particular order. The Eiffel Tower, Paris’ most famous landmark; The Louvre, home to the Mona Lisa; the Arc de Triomphe, France’s memorial to its fallen soldiers; and the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral. Other notable attractions include the Stade de France, built for the 1998 World Cup, the Opéra Garnier (Paris Opera), the Musée Cluny and Museé d’Orsay, and the Centre Pompidou which features modern art, cinema concerts and children’s activities.

How to find the cheapest flights

Most of us who travel a lot have one particular favorite airfare search engine. Since the invention of aggregator sites like Kayak.com, you can check quite a few sources all over the internet with just one search, but study after study has shown that even aggregator sites sometimes miss the lowest fares. You have to check at least 3 flight-search sites to be confident that you are getting the best deal possible.

Step 1 Enter your travel dates in the search box above.

Step 2 Click on Get Best Providers and the system will find all the best sites for your trip, which are most likely to offer the best fares.

Step 3 You ll see names and logos of all the best search sites, and with a single click you can send your trip details to each of them. Choose your favorite flight-search site, plus at least two others. Each will open in its own window, and seconds later you ll find the lowest price for each of them. This way you ll at least know the lowest possible fare for your trip, but of course you ll want to pay attention to the total journey length and possible layovers on the way. Sometimes it s worth paying a bit more for a nonstop flight.

For the cheapest international flights

>>>Find international travel deals at the lowest prices online

Now through December 1, 2012, get an extra US$10 on Vayama (link above) off using coupon code: Fall10

You may not be familiar with the website that is somehow able to get even lower fares than pretty much all the others, but only for international flights. We ve used them many times ourselves and often they will get the same flights you see elsewhere for 3 to 5% cheaper than the other sites. For an expensive flight, it s worth checking.

Flying on a Dime: The 3 Best Websites To Find Cheap Flights

The holiday season is upon us and many of us are planning trips. A question I get all the time is how can I find a cheap flight?  To answer that question, I will cover 3 cheap flight websites for your flying escapades – 2 of them have worked great for me flying from the United States to all over the world and the last one was suggested by the MakeUseOf founder Aibek Esengulov for being a great website for finding flights from Europe to elsewhere.

So hopefully we have got you covered with these 3 sites:

CheapFlights (US only) – CheapFlights is my first go-to cheap flight website to start looking for inexpensive flights. I have probably used them over 100 times in the last 5 or 6 years. I consistently find good deals and most of the time at the last minute.

Go ahead and fill out where you are coming from and going to select your flexibility and hit the find deals now button.

Once you hit that button, the site will do its magic searching like so:

You will see the dates are scattered over the next month or so – see if one floats your boat and click on it to go to the corresponding site and book it!

Next up is Cheapo Air. Cheapo Air has international flights both ways. When you get to their homepage it will look like every other major air flight finding service but it will find you some seriously cheap flights – there might be 2 or 3 stops or even a layover – but if cheap is your goal here you will find a flight.

You have to specify an exact date and time range to where you are going and it will find you the cheapest rates available.

Cheapo Air returned cheap flights as you can see below:

$219! That beats our original site by $70. For someone looking to to save some money, not bad! The trip includes 1 hour and 2 minutes of a layover in Atlanta and they switched my home airport from JFK to Newark, not bad!

Our last site is called SkyScanner which does United States flights as well as European flights. SkyScanner should be your site of choice for booking flights that start or end outside of the United States.

Fill out your information and let’s see what she returns”¦

So going from the United States to the Bahamas costs a lot more from here, but looking for airfares from the United Kingdom to New York we see some great deals:

They let you build your round trip by selecting one flight from the left and one from the right.

You can find some great deals from all three of these sites.  But I’m sure there are plenty of other sites where you get your cheap flights from. Feel free to share your favorite sites in the comments!

Business – The Basics of Branding #how #to #find #business #leads

#

The Basics of Branding

Branding is one of the most important aspects of any business, large or small, retail or B2B. An effective brand strategy gives you a major edge in increasingly competitive markets. But what exactly does branding mean? How does it affect a small business like yours?

Simply put, your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from your competitors . Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be.

Are you the innovative maverick in your industry? Or the experienced, reliable one? Is your product the high-cost, high-quality option, or the low-cost, high-value option? You can t be both, and you can t be all things to all people. Who you are should be based to some extent on who your target customers want and need you to be.

The foundation of your brand is your logo. Your website, packaging and promotional materials–all of which should integrate your logo–communicate your brand.

Brand Strategy Equity

Your brand strategy is how, what, where, when and to whom you plan on communicating and delivering on your brand messages. Where you advertise is part of your brand strategy. Your distribution channels are also part of your brand strategy. And what you communicate visually and verbally are part of your brand strategy, too.

Consistent, strategic branding leads to a strong brand equity, which means the added value brought to your company s products or services that allows you to charge more for your brand than what identical, unbranded products command. The most obvious example of this is Coke vs. a generic soda. Because Coca-Cola has built a powerful brand equity, it can charge more for its product–and customers will pay that higher price.

The added value intrinsic to brand equity frequently comes in the form of perceived quality or emotional attachment. For example, Nike associates its products with star athletes, hoping customers will transfer their emotional attachment from the athlete to the product. For Nike, it s not just the shoe s features that sell the shoe.

Defining Your Brand

Defining your brand is like a journey of business self-discovery. It can be difficult, time-consuming and uncomfortable. It requires, at the very least, that you answer the questions below:

  • What is your company s mission?
  • What are the benefits and features of your products or services?
  • What do your customers and prospects already think of your company?
  • What qualities do you want them to associate with your company?

Do your research. Learn the needs, habits and desires of your current and prospective customers. And don t rely on what you think they think. Know what they think.

Because defining your brand and developing a brand strategy can be complex, consider leveraging the expertise of a nonprofit small-business advisory group or a Small Business Development Center .

Once you ve defined your brand, how do you get the word out? Here are a few simple, time-tested tips:

  • Get a great logo. Place it everywhere.
  • Write down your brand messaging. What are the key messages you want to communicate about your brand? Every employee should be aware of your brand attributes.
  • Integrate your brand. Branding extends to every aspect of your business–how you answer your phones, what you or your salespeople wear on sales calls, your e-mail signature, everything.
  • Create a voice for your company that reflects your brand. This voice should be applied to all written communication and incorporated in the visual imagery of all materials, online and off. Is your brand friendly? Be conversational. Is it ritzy? Be more formal. You get the gist.
  • Develop a tagline. Write a memorable, meaningful and concise statement that captures the essence of your brand.
  • Design templates and create brand standards for your marketing materials. Use the same color scheme, logo placement, look and feel throughout. You don t need to be fancy, just consistent.
  • Be true to your brand. Customers won t return to you–or refer you to someone else–if you don t deliver on your brand promise.
  • Be consistent. I placed this point last only because it involves all of the above and is the most important tip I can give you. If you can t do this, your attempts at establishing a brand will fail.

How to Find Cheap Flights to London #lastminute #travel

#find a cheap flight
#

Things You’ll Need

Book online, and be specific. While numerous online travel sites, such as Expedia, Hotwire and Travelocity, feature deals on flights to a number of locales (including London), CheapFlights.com features a section devoted exclusively to booking cheap/discounted flights to London. The site offers a list of airports from which people can fly, as well as numerous times, dates, flight types and prices. A function also exists by which travelers can book hotel and car, in addition to booking their flight.

Hire a travel agent. This can be done in person, through local outlets like a newspaper or the Yellow Pages, as well as through online sites like Tripology. The latter site provides users with travel agents who offer a customizable trip itinerary, including flight packages to locales like London. For those with limited travel booking experience, particularly to an international location like London, travel agents offer a potentially best-case scenario in terms of securing a cheap/discounted flight to the United Kingdom.

Book through British Airways. Booking directly through the most popular airline in the United Kingdom is of great benefit to travelers, as the airline features plenty of flights to London. By booking well in advance–when airlines are looking to sell as many tickets as possible in the hopes of selling out a flight, or at the last minute–when airlines are desperate to sell those last few remaining seats, gives discount ticket seekers the opportunity to score a great deal.

How to save on flights: 11 ways to find the best

#great flight deals
#

11 Ideas for How To Save on Flights

I’ve always heard conflicting advice on paying  for a flight. Some swear you need to book as early as possible to get the best price, while others say last-minute deals are the best bargain. Even though this remains unpredictable, there are still great ways you can save on airfare. When you are booking your next flight, keep these eight money-saving tips in mind to get the best price for airfare:

Shop midweek.

Just like there are certain days at the grocery store that always seem to have a bargain, you’ll see the same is true with with airlines. Many airlines release sales on Tuesdays and Wednesdays since they are the least popular days of the week people are shopping for flights. “Monday night is when the major airlines announce sales. This triggers airlines to try to match those sales on Tuesday,” Rick Seaney, CEO and co-founder of FareCompare.com says. Once one airline posts deals, others will do the same to compete. Scope the scene Tuesday afternoon for a low ticket price.

According to Susanna Zaraysky, author of Travel Happy, Budget Low. if your departure or return dates are flexible, use airfare search engines to play around with various dates to get affordable tickets. If you can be flexible with the dates and time you travel, it is a huge advantage to saving money on flights. Sometimes booking a day later, or even an hour later, can end up saving you a great deal. Search various dates and times you are available to travel. Some airlines, like Southwest, offer an entire calendar to make it easy to spot when the best time to fly is. Flexibility also comes into play if you don’t mind getting a connecting flight, since many people are so opposed to the idea.

Be a nanny on flight seriously.

If you have any childcare experience, sign up to be a nanny on your flight. Parents sign up at Nanny in the Clouds if they need assistance caring for their child or children while checking bags, getting settled, and in the air flying. For you, simply type in your flight information and see if there are parents in need of an extra hand. From there, you set your wage and literally get paid while you fly.

Choose another airport.

The same way you are flexible with when you travel should also be applied to where you are traveling to and from. Sometimes choosing a different airport can end up saving hundreds of dollars and be well-worth traveling the extra distance. I had relatives coming to visit me in Chicago that flew into an airport one hour south of me to save several hundred dollars. Since they were renting a car anyway, the money they spent on gas and the time were worth it.

Check deal sites AND airline websites.

Standby websites like Orbitz  and CheapTickets.com  (and a host of others) offer an overview of what the lowest prices are out there. This is a great start, but a big mistake that people make is not looking at the airline’s actual website too. Airlines want you to book through their site, so they often offer a deal that the travel search sites don’t know about. Also keep in mind that many airline rewards are only offered if you book through their website.

Get the package deal.

The interesting thing about the search sites mentioned above, is they allow you to book your hotel stay and book your rental car as well as a flight. Booking things together in a package can easily add up to a discount. Sometimes, you don t even have to do it at the same time. For example, CheapTickets.com offers users booking a flight a promo code good for a 15 percent discount on your hotel. That said, shop around and price each item separately to see if you are truly getting a deal.

Keep an eye out on for a lower price.

You’re excited for your trip, you find a good deal and book your tickets, and you anxiously await take off. But do you ever check back to see if the price went down? I’ll admit that I used to never check back, until I found one day that the price had significantly dropped. Once you book your ticket, watch for the price to go down. If it does, contact the airline to see if they will give you a refund or credit for the difference.

Book a red eye flight or flight with stops.

It may be late, but booking a red eye flight is most likely going to be significantly cheaper. And on that same page, flights with multiple stops will cost less. Sure, it is much more convenient for a nonstop flight, but if you can save hundreds of dollars, it could be well worth the trouble.

Watch for hidden fees.

The best way to save money is to know what you are actually spending. You might see a good deal, but with hidden fees, it can turn out to be much more expensive than you think. Some things you can be charged for include: checking bags, booking fees, food and drink on flight, boarding early, or premium seating. Find out what is included and not included before you book. Also, find out the airline’s policy on changing flights. Some airlines can charge a change fee of $170 plus your new flight’s difference if you need to change your flight.

Keep an eye out for sales and promotions.

Airlines are always offering deals, sales, and other promotions throughout the year, especially during off-travel times. Sign up for airline e-mails to hear about these money-saving offers and receive coupons or promo codes. Also, follow airlines on Twitter and Facebook to hear about deals as well.

Use a credit card to your advantage.

Using a credit card in a smart way can score you free flights or reduced airfare when you fly. If you’re in the market for a new credit card, consider applying for one through an airline. They’ll offer free flights or a ton of bonus points. Plus, when you use your card, it results in points toward free flights.

Find And Compare Student Travel Insurance #flights #and #hotels

#student travel insurance
#

Student travel insurance

If you are a student planning a long summer trip abroad, or even a gap year between studies, then insurance is probably the last thing on your mind. But travel cover is essential whether you are heading to Europe for a few weeks or venturing further afield for several months.

Of course, you might think you can set off without student travel insurance, especially if you are young and fit with few valuables in your back pack. But could you really afford to replace your iPod, camera and holiday cash if they were stolen? And remember that medical treatment abroad can run into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Do I need an EHIC?

Anyone travelling within Europe should apply for a European Health Insurance Card, which entitles the holder to the same emergency care as a local resident. But the EHIC is not a substitute for student holiday insurance, as local care is not always free and not always of a high standard. The EHIC also does not cover repatriation to the UK in a medical emergency.

You can apply for the card online at www.ehic.org.uk. or by calling 0845 606 2030.

Check the levels of cover

It’s not always easy to work out how much cover you need. But MoneySupermarket recommends that your student travel insurance should include medical cover of at least 2m, in case you fall ill while you are away. You should also make sure your insurance includes the cost of an air ambulance in case you need to be flown home.

Personal liability insurance of 1m is essential. Plus cancellation and curtailment cover of at least the value of the trip. Insurance for your baggage and personal belongings will pay out if, for example, your backpack is lost, stolen or damaged. But check the single item and valuables limit as most firms cap the amount that you can claim for one item. There will also be a limit on the amount you can claim for lost or stolen cash.

Catastrophe cover protects travellers against the financial repercussions of a disaster such as the recent volcanic ash clouds. It’s also sensible to find a policy that includes end supplier failure in case the airline or travel company goes bust.

Travel insurers offer European or worldwide cover. European cover is typically cheaper, but you should always check whether your destination is classed as European as definitions can vary.

Single trip or annual cover?

Students can usually buy single trip or annual travel insurance. As its name suggests, a single trip policy covers just one trip, usually up to a maximum of 31 days. If you buy an annual policy, you can go away several times in any one year without having to arrange insurance each time. It’s worth comparing prices for both types of policy, but as a general rule, if you plan two or more trips a year, or you are heading long haul, then an annual policy usually works out cheaper.

Gap year travel insurance

If you are planning a gap year, you will need a policy that lasts as long as your trip. A variety of insurers offer cover for backpackers and it can run for a year or more. You should also check that your policy covers every destination on your journey, even if you are only passing through.

Extreme sports

Many students undertake extreme sports or adventurous activities while they are away. Of course, they are great fun, but they can also be risky, so it’s essential that your policy will pay out if you have an accident while you are white water rafting or wrestling with alligators. You will find a list of insured activities in the policy documents, but if in doubt, ask your insurer.

Working abroad

Some travellers work while they are abroad, perhaps to help fund the trip. Gap year travel insurance typically covers employment overseas, but manual work is often excluded. Again check with your insurer if you have any questions. Many insurers will also allow one or two return trips home under your policy, which can be useful if you get homesick, or perhaps need to break off from your travels for a family wedding or other occasion.

Take care of yourself

It’s important to remember that a student travel insurance policy is not a licence to go mad: you still have to take care of yourself and your possessions. Few insurers will, for example, pay out if your bag is stolen from the beach while you are supping in a nearby bar. And talking of bars, insurers can refuse to pay a claim if you were under the influence of drink or illegal drugs at the time of the incident.

Save money on student travel insurance

Probably the easiest way to cut the cost of your student travel insurance is to compare prices. MoneySupermarket’s free independent comparison service can help you to find the best policy at the best price – all within minutes.

Student travel insurance can cost less than 10 for a single trip in Europe. But remember that the cheapest policy is not necessarily the best as the cover could be patchy, or the claim limits could be low. It’s also worth finding out about the excess, which is the amount you have to pay towards each claim. You often pay a lower premium if you agree to a higher excess. But if you can’t afford the excess, why bother with the insurance?

Essential documents

Insurance is not the only essential travel document. You should also make sure you have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond your return date, plus any necessary visas. You can get advice from the Identity Passport Service website. or call 0300 222 0000.

Always keep your passport safe and make a note of the number, date and place of issue in case it is lost or stolen. It’s also a good idea to take with you a back-up form of identification, such as a driving licence.

Tips for a successful trip

Visit your GP as soon as possible so that you can organise any jabs or stock up on malaria tablets. If you are taking any prescribed medicine with you, make sure it is legal in the countries you plan to visit. And always keep it safe and in its original packaging.

Set up a secure email account so that you can regularly keep in touch with friends and family.

Book your accommodation for at least the first night to give you time to familiarise yourself with your new surroundings.

Stay away from drugs as the penalties for the possession or supply of drugs can be harsh in some countries.

Wear a high factor sun screen and avoid over exposure to the sun, especially during the middle of the day. And drink plenty of water.

Stomach upsets can ruin a holiday, so take sensible precautions. Find out if the local tap water is safe to drink and check that all food is properly cooked.

It’s a good idea to take condoms with you because they are not always readily available abroad and might not meet British quality standards.

What to pack

  • Keep clothes and valuables to a minimum but try to find space for the following items in your luggage:
  • First aid kit
  • Mosquito net
  • Insect repellent
  • Water bottle
  • Water purification tablets
  • Universal adaptor
  • Travel plug
  • Wet wipes and hand gel for hygiene
  • Travel sewing kit
  • Small padlock
  • List of useful contact numbers

With some planning you could go WGU and then when you get to 60 credits just apply them to any of the big three for your 2 year. There is some cost associated with this method and it doesn’t completely answer your question, but I thought it could possibly be applicable.

Leak Detecting Services

How to Find a Water Leak

Our highly trained engineers at L.D.S. Leak Detection Specialists Ltd. will choose the approriate testing and inspection process specifically chosen to suit your home or commercial business to find the leak.

Our engineers at L.D.S. carry all the latest technology in leakage detection. We have listed the main Leak detection methods and equipment below. Inspection cameras. Protimeter mms damp meter survey kits, pressure gauges both hydraulic and digital and salts diagnostic kits also form part of the L.D.S. engineers equipment.

Leak Detection Methods to Find A Leak

Acoustics
Acoustic profiling uses ground and pipe sensitive microphones to enhance the sound of the leak. This method can help in pinpointing precise leak location.

Correlation
Is a way of finding and pinpointing leaks in water pipes. A leak in a pipe under pressure creates noise that travels through the pipe walls, the surrounding ground and along the contents of the pipe. Correlators are a very accurate sound testing device which are used to identify the acoustic frequency caused when a pipe is leaking. The correlator uses two identical sensors located along the pipe to calculate the leek location by logging the signal delay, sensor distance and the sound velocity.

Tracer Gas
The trace gas, a safe mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen, is introduced into the pipe with the suspected leak. The gas, is the lightest in the atmosphere and is made up of of small molecules. The gas will exit at the leak and make its way to the surface where it is detected using gas sensitive detection pobes.

Thermal Imaging
Thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to see and measure thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermography cameras can identify problem areas that can’t be seen with the naked eye, detecting hidden water leaks. The infrared inspection camera can detect not only hidden water leaks and their origin, but also moisture that cannot be physically reached with moisture meters. Read more

Pipe, Cable and Metal Detection and Tracing
Often the exact position of pipes and cables is unknown due to innacurate or non existant network plans. In order to carry out precise water leak detection and to avoid damage to utilities and operators during excavations, it is essential to know the precise position of all services. We use high performance equipment which can locate and trace buried pipes and cables.

Network Monitoring with Noise Loggers
Noise Loggers are used for early detection of leaks in water supply networks. The longer it takes to identify that a network is leaking the more revenue is lost and the greater the loss of precious water resources. In addition to the more conventional methods of leak detection the installation of permanent noise loggers has proved to be a cost effective tool in early identification of water loss. By permanently monitoring sections of the system, which have previously been proven leak free, it will alert you when a potential leak does develop. Read more .

Please scroll down to read what parents say about our college road trip itineraries.

“A friend who is a maven in finding outstanding resources, recommended Janice and Custom College Visits as we began the daunting college selection process. We worked with Janice on two fronts; to help create a list of colleges and to set-up meaningful colleges visits. The college visits were also a lot of fun for us as a family and very informative on so many levels. More importantly Janice helped make the college selection process manageable, not so daunting after all, and we felt no stone was left unturned in this important decision.

Tracy P. Parent of a New York City high school Senior

Thank you so much for planning such a wondrous experience for our son. The careful attention to detail was evident at every turn. Custom College Visits planning effort provided an appropriate path of discovery for our son and for us.

Michael C. New Jersey parent of a high school Junior

Hi Janice, Our trip was a thoroughly enjoyable family adventure! Thank you so much for the unique opportunities that you created for our daughter at each college. Meeting with a student at Harvard, was probably the most informative way to start the entire trip. She devoted a lot of time (in the rain) providing real college life details. She swiped us into dining halls, dorms & buildings that we might not have seen otherwise. The sophomore session at Princeton was wonderful! Thank you so much for everything that you did! We really were able to get the most out of each campus visit! Best, Julie

Julie, Parent of a high school Junior in Southern California

I found working with Custom College Visits a very positive experience. They were able to pinpoint colleges that were best suited for my daughter and the travel plans were well organized. In addition, they were able to set up an interview with a member of a college color guard, as my daughter had expressed interest in going to a school that had a color guard. I am very pleased with my experience with Custom College Visits, and would recommend them highly.

Mark L. Parent of high school junior in Northern California

Lili got accepted into her first choice school today (early decision): Boston University! She is thrilled beyond belief and relieved as well. We could not have done it without your help, it was invaluable. I think the High School Honors program she did there was probably very helpful and we would not have know about it without your forwarding the information to us. You rock! So, I am tipping my hat today to both you and Lili!

Kim T. Parent of high school senior in Kansas

I am happy to tell you that Nivi has been accepted early decision to Brown University. She is the first ivy leaguer in our family and we couldn’t be more proud! Her decision to apply was made easier because of the excellent experience she had during her customized tour via your company so thank you so much! We will be sure to recommend you to our friends here..

Gayathri S. Parent of high school senior Chennai, India

Thank you again for being so good at what you do. Our trip to the US was a huge success. I was on the verge of cancelling the trip but knew I couldn’t let my son down. That I even found you on the internet was a direct answer to my prayer for a miracle. The itinerary worked very well. I knew I was in good hands even before I boarded the plane to the U.S. and your attention to detail far exceeded my expectation.

Egbe O. Parent of international high school student

We had a wonderful trip to Philadelphia and Boston thanks to Janice Caine of Custom College Visits. She worked out an itinerary from start to finish. We visited 9 schools and it was as smooth as possible. Janice worked out tours and information sessions as well as meetings with tennis coaches. We have boy/girl twins and both were happy which is not an easy achievement. Not only did Janice work out the schedule but she recommended great schools in both towns. We would highly recommend her.

Phil S. Parent of high school students SF Bay Area

“Thank you SO MUCH for your involvement in the Splash Parents’ Program this weekend! I am just reviewing the feedback forms, and your presentation received rave reviews across the board; many parents cited it as the highlight of the program for them! Some verbatim quotes include: ‘The Planning and Preparing for College Visits was a great eye opener;’ Thank you for all the effort, energy, and enthusiasm you put into making the event such a success.”

Marisa M. Coordinator, Splash Parents’ Program Stanford University

Our college process was two-fold. It began with getting a jump start on the standardized testing, and not waiting until spring of junior year to focus. I believe our outcome was successful because we had a well-managed plan helped along by an expert, Janice Caine, of Custom College Visits.

Lisa L. Parent of high school students SF Bay Area

Happy New Year! Wanted to let you know that Charlie was accepted to Johns Hopkins Early Decision! Great news and very exciting all around. Thank you for all your help.

Beth A. Parent of a high school senior. Massachusetts

Part Time Accounting Jobs – Search Part Time Accounting Job Listings

Part Time Accounting Jobs

Part Time Accounting Job Overview

Maybe it only took you two days to memorize your multiplication tables, or perhaps you can add enormous figures without the benefit of the calculator app on your phone. If you have a head for numbers or an appreciation for detailed work, you might enjoy part-time accounting jobs.

Reduced hours give you more time for family, friends, and other pursuits, and many types of accounting jobs exist. You might work for a large corporation or a small firm, depending on your ideal work environment. Part time accounting jobs take many forms:

In small firms, part-time accounting clerks sometimes wear multiple hats. For example, they might form the company’s accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.

Part Time Accounting Job Education Requirements

The education required for part-time accounting jobs varies depending on the job description. Most positions require only a high school diploma, though advanced degrees help professionals earn promotions and higher salaries.

Part Time Accounting Job Market

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that accounting positions will grow at an average rate of 11 percent through 2022, which matches the growth rate of other industries. Although many accounting professionals work full-time hours, the BLS reveals that about 25 percent work part time. In some cases, part-time accounting jobs become full-time at a later date, especially if the professional starts work as a temporary employee.

Part Time Accounting Job Salary Information

Since part-time accounting jobs encompass several industries and positions, it is difficult to determine the average or median salary. According to the BLS, professionals in bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing earn a median salary of $35,170 per year in full-time roles. Part time associates command smaller salaries by virtue of their reduced hours and their pay rates are often expressed in hourly wages and not annual salaries.

Dohop travel planner – find cheap flights #one #stop #travel

#find flights cheap
#

If you are using Dohop.com’s flight search engine, there are a few things you can keep in mind to optimize and get the most out of the results. By default the results are ordered by price, lowest first. You can rearrange this order, perhaps by departure time if you want to catch an early flight, or by total trip duration to minimize your stay in airplanes and airports.

Dohop’s specialty is finding the best connections, ones that other flight searches won’t show you. Our flight planner shows you the best connections, but again you can limit these by using the filters. You can eliminate ground travel, reduce the maximum number of stops and disallow overnight flights. You may be cutting out the cheapest flight by doing this, but instead you might find the one best suited to you. Direct flight are the most tempting, since you eliminate a lot of hassle, but they are often not the cheapest flight available. For the cheapest prices, look for low cost airlines, and especially connections with at least one low-cost airline.

And using Dohop.com’s flight search saves you the time and hassle of searching for available flights on each of the airlines sites individually.

Cheap Flights to Florida

Best Time to Fly to Florida

October through April is the peak tourist season for flights to southern Florida. Orlando’s theme parks are busy year-round, with the highest peaks coinciding with school vacations, including spring and summer breaks. Summer is the busy season in northern Florida. Florida remains a popular destination for spring-break vacations, and those weeks are busy as are long holiday weekends.

Winter is the off season in northern Florida. If you don’t mind the hot and humid weather, cheap flights to Florida’s southern region are easily found in the summer.

Why you should take a flight to Florida

Before buying airline tickets to Florida decide what part of the state you want to explore: There’s so much to do in Florida, it’s hard to know where to begin. Book a Florida trip to the gulf side to see Clearwater Beach, Naples, and Sanibel Island – year-round destination spots with resorts, condos, golf courses and enough sand and sun to keep anyone happy. Mickey Mouse welcomes millions of tourists to his home in Orlando. and Daytona Beach traditionally serves as host to Spring-breakers. Further south, Florida flights drop travelers in Fort Lauderdale. West Palm Beach and Miami. where decadence and lavish lifestyles line the city centers. Simply put: Florida is a destination spot for anyone.

Flights to Florida are easy to find, and savvy travelers will find cheap flights to Florida during the off season (usually the summer months). Sports fans booking Florida airline tickets will head straight to Jacksonville for Spring Training or down to Miami for a Dolphins game.

Beach lovers on flights to Florida will find heaven in Miami and West Palm Beach. Pack the golf clubs on your trip to Florida – this state has some of the best courses in the nation. And if you’re a foodie you’re in luck: Florida is home to some of the finest restaurants in the nation with an eclectic mix of cuisine and dining options for any traveler on any budget.

With so many options, it’s no wonder that your Florida flight takes you to one of the hottest destination spots for travelers.

Getting around Florida

A car is the best way to get around Florida. Although some cities have public transportation, you need to check that it goes where you want to go and at convenient times. Driving is generally the best way to go from town to town and across the state. Depending on the distance, flying from one city to another may be a better option.

Florida is great for bicycling. Although biking in the cities isn’t recommended, there are bike paths along the coasts and long-distance trails in central Florida. Plus, Florida is flat: its highest point is 345 feet above sea level.

Cheap Flights to Europe – Find Great Deals on Flights to

#travel europe cheap
#

Cheap Flights to Europe

Getting around Europe

To find the cheapest flights to Europe:

  • Plan a one-direction trip, such as London to Amsterdam to Madrid. Then buy an open-jaw ticket where you arrive in London and return home from Madrid.
  • Look into a surface-sector ticket if you’re traveling some of the legs of your trip via surface transport.
  • Icelandair has some great airfare deals if you fly via Reykjavik. Aer Lingus offers deals for flights to Europe via Dublin or Shannon.

Europe is well connected by planes, trains and buses. It is easy (and cheap) to take trips between major cities in Europe, especially if you start or finish in the UK, Ireland, Germany, or France—all countries where low-cost carriers fly extensive routes.

Trains run throughout mainland Europe and, since the Eurotunnel, also connect France to the UK. Check out www.raileurope.com for tickets and advice as well as interactive route maps.

Buses (coaches) are readily available and a much cheaper way of traveling. However, they are typically a lot slower and often more uncomfortable than trains. Eurolines is a good low-cost coach operator to check.

If you’re driving, consider renting a diesel. Diesels often get better mileage and are a great deal in countries that subsidize diesel. Drive on the left in Ireland and the United Kingdom, and keep the speed below 130 kmph (80 mph) on the Autobahn.

Even if you’re planning on traveling independently, check out tours as many (such as a 1-day city or 14-day country tour) can be combined with independent travel.

Why you should take a flight to Europe

For history, fine arts, winter sports, beach resorts, modern cities, and charming villages, book a flight to Europe. Whether you’re heading to rich and sultry areas, or rough and rugged territory, travel around Europe is easy.

The changes in Europe’s landscape and climate are as dramatically diverse as the attractions. Book cheap international flights to Europe during the hot, dry summers along the Mediterranean or experience the midnight sun in Scandinavia. Trips to Europe allow travelers to explore historical sites, museums, cities, country villages, or retrace your ancestry. Maybe you prefer shopping, lying on a beach, scaling a mountain, or backpacking through remote villages. Which is better, a remote chalet or a vibrant resort? Perhaps there’s a country you’ve always wanted to visit: England. France. Portugal. Spain. or Ireland. Or maybe you just want it all.

The possibilities are endless when you book airline tickets to Europe. Whether backpacking for a year or just popping over for a long weekend to soak in a thermal spa in Iceland or catch the theater in London, you’re bound to have an excellent time.

Europe climate

Mediterranean summers are hot and winters mild. In central and northern Italy and France, the climate is more temperate with humid summers and cold, damp winters. Spain and Portugal can be very hot and dry in summer, with cold and wet winters. Winter in Madrid and Spain’s high central region can be quite cold. Central Europe has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are hot to warm and winters cold with temperatures below freezing. Snow can fall as early as mid-September in the Alps, and the ski resorts start opening in November and remain open until April. A continuation of the Gulf Stream (North Atlantic Drift) keeps the climate in Scandinavia, the UK, Ireland, and Iceland fairly mild. Iceland’s climate is close to that of New York, and Scandinavia is more like New England or the Great Lakes region in the U.S. In the UK winters are cold and wet with occasional snow, and summers generally warm with showers. Most Europeans are on vacation in August. Some shops and attractions are closed in the cities, and the beaches and mountains are mobbed. Check your favorite travel website for tips on peak and off seasons.

Getting around Europe

Europe is very well connected by planes, trains and buses. There are regular flights between major cities, especially from busy airport hubs in the UK, Germany or France, where low-cost airlines offer cheap flights around Europe.

Trains run throughout mainland Europe, with the Eurotunnel connecting the UK to France.

Buses (coaches) are a cheaper alternative, however, they are typically much slower and often less comfortable than trains.

If you’re driving, consider renting a diesel car, which often gets better mileage. They can be a good deal in countries that subsidize diesel. The UK and Ireland operate left-hand traffic but in the rest of Europe they drive on the right.

If you’re traveling independently, it is still worth checking out tours (such as a one-day city or 14-day country tours) that can be combined with your itinerary.

Europe Travel Information

  • England’s scenery, villages, trendy cities and Scotland’s golf courses draw visitors to the UK. Reminders of the past and legends are everywhere, including paths of King Arthur and Merlin in Wales and Vikings and St. Patrick in Northern Ireland
  • Ireland has produced some of the world’s greatest poets and writers and remains a retreat for golfing, fishing, and hiking. The cities are young and vibrant; the countryside is peaceful and wears its scenery, ruins, and monuments with grace.
  • Germany’s cities are leading cultural, financial, and educational centers, and include two of the greenest cities in Europe. From modern to Middle Ages architecture, world-renown exhibits and performances, and the all-time best Oktoberfest, Germany is a country of many facets.
  • France is a land of variety: over 400 types of cheese, 25 languages and dialects, prehistoric caves, and the Louvre. France offers sumptuous beaches, bustling cities, quiet villages, and mountain resorts. And the cuisine is as diversified as the country.
  • The passion, culture, history of Italy —one of the few countries everyone knows something about. Whether your ideal vacation is soaking up the arts, visiting Vatican City, hiking, or luxuriating in a spa, you can find it in Italy.
  • On the Iberian Peninsula, step back from Spain’s beaches to find fascinating sights and charming towns. The world now comes to explore Portugal with its modern resorts and towns where old traditions remain the way of life.
  • The Netherlands has a rich history as a world power; Luxembourg has dense forests, medieval castles, and Battle of the Bulge memorials; and Belgium is a feast for connoisseurs and gourmands.
  • Austria has the regal buildings and culture from its days as the heart of the Hapsburg Empire. The country’s hospitality and cuisine make it a year-round destination, topped only with its winter sports, historic cities, and cultural institutions

Book cheap flight tickets with United Airlines from $40

* This Price is based on eDreams search results for flights performed within the next 365 days for this airline. It reflects the cheapest price per route for an adult passenger that can be found in our system

Cheap United Airlines Flights

These prices are shown only for your reference and they correspond to return flights, according to the cheapest departure / return date combination seen for this route during the last 5 days.

United Airlines Flights Information

Hand Baggage Allowance

Each passenger is allowed to bring one carry-on luggage item as well as one small personal item for each flight. A traveler’s carry-on bag and personal item must be able to easily fit in the overhead bins or under the seat in front of them at the cabin crew’s discretion.

Maximum dimensions allowed for carry-on luggage are 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm) including both the wheels and handles.

A personal item is generally defined as a purse, handbag, laptop or briefcase, book bag, or other similarly sized item. Maximum dimensions allowed for a small personal item are 9 inches x 10 inches x 17 inches (22 cm x 25 cm x 43 cm).

Checked Baggage Allowance

Checked baggage service charges apply at any point where bags are checked, although some customers are exempt from charges for bags within specified size and weight limits. Services charges for the first two check baggage items may apply for bags with a maximum weight of 50 lbs and a maximum exterior dimension of 62 inches. Any additional bags that exceed the maximum weight or size limits are considered excess baggage and may be subject to additional fees or regulations. MileagePlus members, active military personnel or their dependents may be exempt from checked baggage service charges for one or more of their luggage items as long as these items meet the weight and size requirements. This exemption does not pertain to group reservations of ten or more passengers or when the flight is not operated by United or United Express services. Passengers are recommended to carry all delicate and valuable items with their carry-on luggage, as the TSA is required to perform a comprehensive screen on all checked baggage. These screening procedures are not considered the liability of United Airlines.

Check-In

Check-in is available within 24 hours of the flight’s scheduled departing time. Online check-in is the recommended method as it is fastest and boarding passes can be printed from a home computer. A message containing a link to your boarding pass can also be emailed to most mobile devices or laptops to be shown to check-in staff. A United Airlines app is also available for smartphone devices and can be used to instantly check-in before departure times. Regardless of check-in time, all baggage must be checked at least 30 minutes before domestic flights and 60 minutes before international connections.

Boarding Information

Most domestic flights are boarded up to 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. With most US airports suggesting at least an hour and a half processing time, United Airlines recommends arriving at least two hours before departure. Arriving at the departure gate at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time is also highly recommended. Peak traffic hours at most airports are between 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Travelers should keep in mind that proper identification is required at all check-in desks, TSA stations and at the departure gate.

Frequent Flyer Information – MileagePlus

United Airlines offers a frequent flyer program, entitled MileagePlus, that has been voted the world’s best frequent flyer program for nine consecutive years by Global Traveler magazine. “Miles” are earned by purchasing tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals and other services. Credit cards are offered that collect MileagePlus miles through standard purchases and other bonus reward programs. Amtrak tickets can also gain MileagePlus miles as well as trips planned through United Cruises and United Vacation services. MileagePlus miles can be used to purchase United Airlines tickets as well as many other services provided by United Airlines and its partners. Flight upgrades can be made with MileagePlus miles giving passengers access to premium flight cabins, checked bag allowances and complementary premium beverages. These upgrades can be made before or after tickets and reservations are purchased, although certain benefits are only available if upgrades are made prior to check-in. Miles can also be used to book reservations at many brand-name hotels or pay for a membership to United Airlines’ United Club and Lounge located at many airports worldwide. These lounges provide free snacks, beverages and Wi-Fi for members and are also partnered with other airport lounge services to ensure that MileagePlus travelers have a private and relaxing atmosphere while waiting for connecting flights. Miles can also be donated to charities through United’s donation services. A complete list of charities is available on their website and covers a wide range of non-profits and other similar associations.

General Information

What would become United Airlines completed its first commercial flight in 1926 and eventually merged with William Boeing’s aircraft and carrier company to create the United Aircraft and Transport Corporation. By 1933, United was the first airline company to fly an all-metal aircraft, the famous Boeing 247. After merging with Capital Airlines in the 1960s, United Airlines became the USA’s largest airline company and remained so for many years. Continuing to control a large portion of American airline traffic, United Airlines also became the first airline company to fly the now standard Boeing 747 and after becoming employee-owned through a stock ownership program, became the world’s largest employee-owned corporation in 1994. United Airlines is based in Chicago, Illinois in Willis Tower (once known as Sears Tower) and operates over 700 mainline aircraft. The company currently boasts over 85,000 employees in the United States and countries around the world. As one of the world’s most comprehensive and longest operating airline services, United Airlines is one of the USA’s most traveled carriers. An average of over 5,200 flights are made daily to more than 350 airports worldwide and the airline has handled nearly 140 million passengers yearly since 2012. United Airlines also prides itself on being an environmentally sensitive corporation, flying the world’s first commercial aviation flight on certified bio-fuel. They have also campaigned to replace all paperwork with Apple’s iPad technology and have purchased over 100 fuel efficient Boeing 737 Max 9s to replace less efficient older models.

Finding the Cheap Flights to Greece

  • Be willing to travel any day of the week. If your schedule permits, check a day or two before your optimal arrival and departure dates.
  • Check who is flying to Athens International Airport near your departure date; you may notice a new airline which will be offering promotional fares. You may also find a European regional airline that you never thought of taking before.
  • If you re thinking of taking a tour or cruise, see what airfare deals they offer and find out if you can extend your trip to allow time for independent travel.
  • Consider flying directly to Kerkyra (Corfu). Thessaloniki. Rhodes. or through Chania or Heraklion on the island of Crete. Airlines flying out of Britain and Germany have many direct flights to these locations.
  • Try an open-jaw flight – go into Athens but fly home out of Heraklion. Rhodes, Thessaloniki or Kerkyra.
  • Check 3-5 different resources before clicking that Pay button anywhere. Recent test searches on a half-dozen sites brought me lowest price listings from $953 to $1842 – for a trip being booked four months in advance. Results constantly change, but for my test trip departing from San Diego to Heraklion, Crete, done within minutes of each other, these were the results:

How to Find Cheap Flights to Mexico

You can find an inexpensive flight to Mexico anytime except between January and April. (Photo: mexico scenery image by Cosette from Fotolia.com )

Related Articles

It s important to be flexible when looking for a cheap flight to Mexico. When it s cold up north, everyone wants to head south, so the cheapest fares aren t going to be available between January and April. The best time to visit Mexico is between September and December or from late April until the end of June.

Step 1

Buy your tickets early. According to Brian Elk of Priceline.com, I think most airline sources would agree that anything outside 21 days before takeoff is considered an advance-purchase ticket. Airlines are different, but generally, once you hit 15 days before the flight, the price begins to go up, then it goes up again at the seven-day mark. So if you want a retail ticket, buy it at least 21 days out for the best price.

Step 2

Fly into Mexico City. According to the website Experience San Miguel de Allende, Mexico City offers the greatest choice of schedules, connections and airline. If you intend to visit Mexico City in addition to your other destinations, flying here first is the often the cheapest option. Also, if you are on a very small budget and don t mind spending time on a bus, you can fly into Mexico City and take a bus to your destination.

Step 3

Fly in the fall. According to Experience San Miguel de Allende, Traveling in the off-season can save you big bucks. American Airlines and others often run all-Mexico specials in the fall, so check them for a cheap Mexico flight. Other airlines also try to match these rates, so call other airlines to see if they ll match or beat this special.

Step 4

Visit your favorite airline s website constantly. Visit more than one airline s website and also travel websites that specialize in selling tickets, such as Orbitz and Travelocity. Subscribe to their email newsletters or their RSS feeds. You might find a cheap rate to Mexico suddenly appears in your email in box one morning.

Step 5

Travel at off times, whether that means the middle of the week or early in the morning. Being flexible in your travel times will help you get the best deal. If you want to travel over Thanksgiving, be flexible enough to travel on Thanksgiving at 5 am. You can save a lot of money by changing your personal itinerary to the whims of an airline deal.

Fly on a Mexican airline. Budget airlines have become very popular in Mexico, as they have in other countries, and flying on one can save you a lot of money. Two of these Mexican budget airlines, Avolar and Volaris, have flights to Le n, Mexico, from Tijuana, which is just over the border from California.

Subscribe to the Twitter feeds of airlines, travel websites and blogs you like, and even ones you don t like. Great travel deals are often tweeted to generate interest.

How to Find Inexpensive Airfare Online #cheap #cheap #airline #tickets

#find flights cheap

Cheap Flights 101

Back in the Middle Ages of air travel, airlines used to publish their rates in telephone-book-sized compendiums updated every few weeks, and your trusty travel agent would actually get on the phone to reserve your seat. Nowadays, fares change as often as the weather in New England. The good news? Ever-evolving technology now lets airlines sell unused seats at the last minute at a variety of venues, producing some of the cheapest prices ever. The bad news? With a glut of information out there, finding these fares can be a bewildering, confusing, and downright frustrating experience.

There is no magic formula for always finding the cheapest fares, says Terrance Zepke, author of the Encyclopedia of Cheap Travel. Comparison shopping is the name of the game. But don t take that to mean you should spend more time hunting for your vacation airfare than you ll actually spend on vacation. We won t lie to you; the world of inexpensive airfares is dog-eat-dog. But follow these efficient steps, learn some simple tricks, and with a little bit of luck, you will excel in sniffing out the best online airfare deals.

SIX STEPS TO CHEAP TICKETS

#1: FIGURE OUT THE BEST TIME TO BUY

Your first step to airfare success is to determine the best time to buy your tickets. If you absolutely must get home to Mom for Thanksgiving or to Courchevel before Lance passes through the age-old advice still holds true: Buy your tickets at least three weeks in advance.

I think most airline sources would agree that anything outside 21 days before takeoff is considered an advance-purchase ticket, says Brian Ek of Priceline.com. Airlines are different, but generally, once you hit 15 days before the flight, the price begins to go up, then it goes up again at the seven-day mark. So if you want a retail ticket, buy it at least 21 days out for the best price. Consider buying retail and buying early for vacation destinations during popular seasons or during high-traffic holidays like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and spring break in March.

However, if your trip to Whistler can wait a weekend or Mom doesn t mind you arriving on Thanksgiving day rather than the day before, consider changing your strategy. Timing when you fly is just as important as when you buy. Though airfares can be fickle and inconsistent, cheaper flights are typically available on weekdays, as opposed to weekends, and during non-rush hours. If you can t avoid major holidays, like Christmas, New Year s, Thanksgiving, national long-weekend holidays, and spring break periods in March, a good rule of thumb is to try to travel when everyone else doesn t want to. Think Christmas Eve or day, Thanksgiving day or a week ahead of time. Besides, flying on a holiday is typically more relaxed the airports and planes are usually less crowded, and the we re all in this together atmosphere can lend to an easy-going travel experience.

For many people, the ultimate vacation is relaxing on a beach in the sun. Because beach vacations are so popular, prices can be extremely high to rent a hotel room or condo directly on the beach. But great beach vacation rental deals are available to those who know where to look.

Step 1

Consider military options. If anyone in your traveling party is an active duty or retired military or civilian Department of Defense member, you may be eligible to use military resorts and other perks. Many military resorts, such as those located at Camp Pendleton in California and on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, are directly on the beach. Rates are determined by pay grade, but even the highest rates are much lower than those charged at surrounding civilian resorts.

Step 2

Consider a timeshare membership. Traditional timeshares entitle you to use the same condo during the same week each year. If you prefer more variety, consider buying into a points-based system. Your membership fee entitles you to a certain number of points each year that can be used at any resort within the timeshare system at any time you like. Weekend nights generally cost more points than mid-week stays, and holidays are the priciest.

If you want the benefits of a timeshare but not the commitment, consider renting from a membership owner. When owners are unable to use their points, they often rent to non-members in exchange for cash. Search the Internet for rental communities that match owners and renters.

Step 3

Look for private rentals. Many families own vacation cottages or condos at the beach that they use only a few times per year. When not in use by the family, those properties are often rented to vacationers through property management companies. Although some properties may be listed on the management company s website, call and speak with a representative to find the best deal on the type of property you desire.

Step 4

Check into all-inclusive vacation packages. Although the initial sticker price might seem high, all-inclusive packages allow you to pay one bill in advance to cover your entire vacation. All-inclusive vacations typically include lodging, meals, activities, entertainment and even gratuities. Choose a traditional all-inclusive resort or create your own package at a major travel website such as Orbitz or Expedia. You can even include airfare and a rental car in the package price. Packages often include perks that are not available when booking everything separately, such as free nights or a major discount on airfare.

How to Find Great Deals on Vacation and Travel

My wife and I have begun to explore the idea of taking a trip later this year. We re in the preliminary stages of our research and budgeting. Though we aren t ready to book anything yet, it s fun to look at what s available, and to dream of where we might go.

Over the weekend, I polled my followers on Twitter to ask their advice for finding great travel deals. Here are some of the tips and websites they recommended. I m sure I ll refer to this list often in the coming months.

You might also consider a home exchange with another vacationing family. You can broker these sorts of deals through sites like HomeLink and HomeExchange .

Airfare Watchdog allows you to receive daily or weekly e-mail updates about travel between destinations you choose. (My first e-mail included a $98 round-trip from Portland to Baltimore.) The site features its top 50 fares of the day. as well as a special fare of the day. You can even read the Airfaire Watchblog to keep up-to-date on the latest deals.

Rick Steves is a travel guru who is featured prominently on public broadcasting, both television and radio. His advice is down-to-earth and geared toward folks who want to experience Europe through the back door .

A recent New York Times article offered some great tips for saving on airfare. even after you book your tickets. The article mentioned a site called Yapta . which will automatically watch to make sure you re getting the best deal:

Using your confirmation number, Yapta.com will automatically track the price of your ticket, taking the airline’s fees into consideration. If the price drop exceeds the fee, Yapta will send you, without charge, an e-mail message or Twitter alert notifying you of the refund. You can then call the airline to claim the credit or pay $15 to have Yapta do it for you on weekdays.

Yapta is basically PriceProtectr for air travel.

Richard F. a veteran of many cruises, shared the following tip via e-mail:

Our upcoming Alaska cruise was base priced at $399 a week, leaving from Vancouver. We discovered it was cheaper to do the return leg, from Whittier (outside Anchorage) back to Vancouver, than it would have been book a flight from Anchorage to Vancouver. So we re taking two weeks, the second retracing our steps. These are the best prices we ve seen for cruises in years.

Though I m usually not a cruise kind of guy, I might consider one if the costs were low enough. Here are some additional travel tips shared by Get Rich Slowly readers:

While the information I ve collected here is useful to a novice like me, it s probably too basic for anyone who travels often. It s fun to play with these travel sites and to dream of where I might go: England, Antarctica, Australia. But to be honest, the more I think about it, the more appealing it sounds to just book a cheap rental home on the Oregon Coast. The important part of the vacation is spending time alone with my wife, not luxury hotels and fancy restaurants.

Do you have tips for finding great travel deals? Are there web sites you swear by? What are your favorite vacation ideas? How often do you travel, and where do you go? What tips can you offer to GRS readers?
