Consumer Confidence In Banking Takes A Hit

A recent survey has shown that consumers’ confidence in banks has taken a real hit, with one of the major causes of this decreasing confidence thought to be the recent situation with Northern Rock. According to the results of the survey close to 25% of Brits state that they do not trust lenders, and less than 50% thought that high street banks could be trusted. The turmoil and chaos that erupted after Northern Rock was found to have taken a loan from the Bank of England, fuelling rumors of a near collapse and resulting in many of the bank’s 1.5 million savers withdrawing billions of pounds worth of savings.

As a result of this situation the Bank of England has stepped up assurance over the guarantee of savings of Northern Rock customers, as well as the savings of customers with other banks that fall into a similar situation. However, it seems that these assurances have done nothing for consumer confidence in banking, with over fifty percent stating that they no longer trust high street banks.

The survey revealed that of the 2484 people interviewed only 46% now trust high street banks. Building societies fared a little better, with 48% expressing confidence in building societies. Online banking has also taken a knock, with experts stating that reduced access to online bank accounts by Northern Rock customers also affecting this area of banking. Only 25% of consumers now trust online banking according to the survey results.

One industry professional stated that consumer confidence in banking and finance was already fairly low, and added that the recent turmoil with Northern Rock has contributed to this lack of confidence. It is not just the banking industry that has taken a knock, however, according to professionals. Lenders across the whole financial sector have been affected by lower levels of consumer confidence. It is thought that this could be as the result of problems throughout the whole of the financial sector, which has stemmed from the credit crunch sparked in the sub-prime sector in the Unites States, which has resulted in global repercussions.

We often get the question: “Who needs a hit counter or visitor counter nowadays.

Well sure, there are super advanced web analytic tools like Google Analytics to track nearly everything about your website visitors and e-commerce clients. But does our visitor counter service compete with such a advanced and complicated tool?

The answer is: No not at all! Our web counters serve a very different purpose! You dont have to login in a analytics account using your email and a password and sort through hundreds of pages of analytic data. All it takes is a visit on your website and you are updated!

Very often its not even possible to install the Google analytics javascript code because you are simply not allowed to! This is the case everytime you use a third party web 2.0 property like Blogger, Tumblr, WordPress.com, Wix etc. All those services do not allow to install a visitor tracking system other than a simple html hit counter service like ours!

Another reason to use a visitor counter service like ReliableCounter.com is to show your visitors how much people already visited the website before. Analytic services let you analyse your web traffic deeply, but a huge visitor count is something you should not keep to yourself. Primary Focus:

Effective Medication Use
To assure the meaningful use of standardized electronic health records (EHR) that supports safe, efficient, and effective medication use, continuity of care, and provide access to the patient-care services of pharmacists with other members of the interdisciplinary patient care team.

Pharmacist’s Role in HIT
To assure the pharmacist’s role of providing patient-care services are integrated into the National HIT interoperable framework.

The Collaborative’s Guiding Principles

  • Identify (through the consensus work of expert panelists) the minimum data set and functional electronic health record (EHR) requirements for the delivery, documentation, and billing of pharmacist-provided medication management services. Such requirements include access to key medical information such as laboratory data, and bidirectional communication flow among all practitioners;
  • Structure and support implementation of a Pharmacy Practitioner HIT roadmap (Roadmap). The Roadmap is a document that directs and establishes benchmarks. These benchmarks will describe the development, implementation and application of technology in an efficient and effective manner for pharmacists to affect improved medication use;
  • Build cooperative relationships within pharmacy and among pharmacy and other stakeholders to communicate and advocate for the Pharmacy Practitioner minimum data set and Roadmap leading to a certified EHR as defined in the Federal Register [1] .
  • Ensure pharmacy representation on key HIT-related committees and workgroups.

[1] “Medicare and Medicaid Programs Electronic Health Record Incentive Program” published in the Federal Register (FR) on July 28, 2010 [75 FR 44516] go to http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2010/pdf/2010-17207.pdf.

Pharmacy HIT Collaborative Council Member’s Core Principles

Engage-Enhance-Ensure

  • Industry stakeholders and pharmacy leaders: to integrate pharmacist-provided patient care services into the national HIT interoperable framework
  • Policymakers: to understand the value of pharmacists’ contributions to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and other stakeholders, and ultimately recognize pharmacists as eligible professionals for the adoption of the meaningful use of the electronic health records (EHR)
  • Medication use and patient safety: through the meaningful use of standardized EHR
  • Recognition of pharmacists as health care providers
  • A unified voice of pharmacy representation on key HIT-related endeavors to influence the recognition of pharmacist services
  • Integration of pharmacists as meaningful users of EHRs through certification and adoption of the pharmacist EHR (PP-EHR) module
  • Pharmacists have the ability and opportunity to document patient-care services within EHR

There are approximately 70-80 students taking HIM classes or prerequisite courses to gain admission to the program.

Clinical Requirement Onsite:

More information and directions are given to students upon acceptance into the program (courses related to associate degree and Medical Coding Specialist certificate). Prior to the clinical course, students are required to meet certain facility requirements to attend clinical practice.
