How Does Trip Cancellation Travel Insurance Work?

Trip Cancellation Insurance gives you the money you lose if you can t go or are forced to cut your trip, cruise or tour short by unforeseen losses.

What does Unforeseen mean?

Unforeseen means: Losses that result from sudden events. Travel insurance for trips and cruises does not cover conditions or events that, on the date of purchase, are known. If what is known causes a claim. your claim will not be paid. It s like wanting to buy Fire Insurance when your house is on fire. Read: Do Callers Think We Were Born Yesterday? or Gina Didn t Need Trip Insurance Until Now

This is very important when you want Pre-Existing Medical Condition coverage. That s because a travel insurance claim will likely be denied if there s not a turn for the worse . In other words, if the person with the pre-existing condition has already had a turn for the worse prior to you buying your travel insurance, there won t be any coverage.

This is important: The Trip Cancellation coverage begins at 12:01 a.m. on the day after the date the policy is purchased. All other coverages begin when you leave home for your trip when your departure date is in the future.

How Travel, Trip, Cruise Cancellation Insurance Helps You:

  • Trip Cancellation Insurance coverage:

You, a close family member or a travelling companion gets hurt or sick before you leave (your doctor must see you in person and say you can t travel). Travel Insurance reimburses you the money you lose. This can include pre-existing medical conditions. Other events that could cause you to cancel your trip are: Your travel supplier unexpectedly ceases operation. you are laid off. you re required to work, terrorism at your destination. bad weather, hurricanes. natural disasters or unexpected jury duty.

  • Trip Interruption Insurance coverage:
You, a close family member or a travelling companion gets hurt or sick during your trip and you have to return home early. Before the trip it s trip cancellation. During the trip it s trip interruption. Our plans reimburse you the unused value of your trip plus pays the cost of one-way airfare up to the plan s limit.
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation Insurance coverage:
You get hurt (ie hit by a cement truck) or sick on your trip. Travel Insurance reimburses you your medical expenses including emergency medical transportation. Did you know that Medicare doesn t cover you outside the USA ?
  • A Trip Delay forces you to have extra accommodation expenses
  • Your luggage is delayed, lost, stolen or damaged. If your checked luggage doesn t arrive within 12 or 24 hours after you do, you can be reimbursed for items you need to buy. Or if it s damaged or never arrives, you can be covered.
  • Or you can get a Cancel For Any Reason plan to cover any possible reason to cancel your trip including: you change your mind, you re afraid to travel, you just don t want to go.

Switzerland Train Travel: Learn About Trains in Switzerland – Rail Europe

    #switzerland travel
    #

    Switzerland

Scenic train routes criss-cross Europe’s touristic pacesetter

When thinking green, think Switzerland. It s arguably one of the world s most environmentally-conscious countries, and that no doubt explains why train travel there is so eco-friendly. Most trains use ultra-clean hydroelectricity, and some even generate energy-saving electricity when traveling downhill. Every Swiss town is connected to the train system. And, the system also coordinates with an extensive bus network so you can easily journey to the most out-of-the-way finds. Trains can take you from Zurich airport to the top of the Jungfraujoch and its stunning views to the German Black Forest and the French Vosges.

The most popular Swiss routes include, of course, the famous scenic trains: the GoldenPass. the Wilhelm Tell Express, the Bernina Express or Glacier Express smoothly snake in Swiss alpine fields, cross mountain streams on spectacular bridges, all while train travelers enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the snowy Swiss Alps. Choose a Grand Train Tour of Switzerland or Grand Train Tour of Switzerland Hotel Package to make the most of your Swiss journey.

These high-altitude rides are must-views, but one of our favorites is the 30-plus mile Centovalli Express, linking Domodossola, Italy to the Swiss Ticino region. The arrival in Locarno and Lago Maggiore, from the mountain, tops off this fascinating, sensory experience, which includes the clanging of cow bells, the faint smell of wood, and the soothing sounds of mountain streams.

Swiss Travel Passes are most definitely the way to go, unless you just want a quick Swiss Transfer Ticket from the airport to another city to hit the slopes, naturally. Passes not only provide access to the SBB railway mainline network, but also dozens of local, private companies that operate mountain trains, cable cars, and buses. An added bonus: free entrance to most Swiss museums.

For more information on Switzerland contact the Switzerland Tourist Board .

    Our Mission.

The mission of RCCD Distance Education (formerly Open Campus) is to extend access to learning through distance education. Objectives: To facilitate learning at a distance, Distance Education provides:

    • Educational technology to the colleges, faculty, and students to support the delivery of online-based courses and services
    • Professional development and training for faculty
    • Expertise and experience
    • Blackboard management, production and problem solving.

As of April 21, the Open Campus department has changed its name to Distance Education. We thank you for your patience as we work to complete the changes to website by the middle of summer.

What Are Online Based or Distance Education classes?

Online-based courses, also called Distance Education classes, may take two different forms:

Online classes are taken exclusively over the Internet. Please note that, while some online courses provide all instructional content over the Internet, others may require some on-campus meetings. Please see the course schedule or WebAdvisor for more information.

Hybrid classes meet both on campus and online. Think of them as a combination or blending of online classes and face-to-face classes.

In a hybrid class, you will attend meetings on campus during the dates and times listed in the schedule of classes. Since the on-campus portion of hybrid classes could take place at any of our three colleges (Riverside City, Norco or Moreno Valley), hybrid classes are listed in the schedule by the college where the on-campus meetings will take place.

Are there Face-to-Face classes that use the Internet?

Web-Enhanced classes are traditional face-to-face classes that are supplemented with course websites and the use of Internet resources. Unlike hybrid or fully-online classes, all web-enhanced class meetings take place on campus.

    Where Do I Start?

For more information about Blackboard and support, visit

Italy Train Travel: Learn About Trains in Italy – Rail Europe

    #travel italy
    #

    Italy

    Get on Board in Italy

Italy has always been a favorite for American travelers, many discovering their heritage, not to mention their palates. It also happens to be an easy country to travel by train.

When traveling domestically, always go for a first class ticket. Although second class is very good on the Frecce and Italo trains, the first class trains connecting north and south are even better if you want to savor the wonderful views of Italian landscapes. For other local and regional services, first class is a must.

The most traveled routes include Rome to Florence (with fast and frequent service) and Venice (beautiful views). And, good to know if you land in Rome from North America, Fiumcino Airport is far from the city, but well-connected by the Leonardo da Vinci Express train. Plus, you can ride this train with any Eurail pass that included Italy (first class only; just use one travel day).

As in all European countries, some trains opt for open seating while others require pre-booking. But, there s no need to worry if you ve purchase your ticket from Rail Europe. We ll get you a pre-assigned seat every time it s possible. And, if you don t get one, it means you can sit anywhere. If you already have a pass, and know where you want to travel, we ll tell you when you need a pre-assigned seat and will gladly book it for you. And now Rail europe offers the same Italian train tickets and fares in North American as are sold in Italy, including access to a vast schedule selection. For your convenience, e-ticketing options are also available.

Italy s rail network is also extremely well connected to the rest of Europe: from Milan and Turin. the Frecciarossa travels through the Alps to Lyon. while TGV goes to Paris. Incredibly comfortable trains connect Italy with Switzerland. (Florence and Venice to Geneva or Zurich are the most popular routes.) Travel overnight and you ll go even further with Thello trains linking Milan or Venice to Paris. And, you can also ride CityNightLine to various Northern European cities. You ll rest in a comfortable compartment well equipped with private shower and toilets.

Traveling by train in Italy is marvelous: truly, there s nothing more romantic than a lasagna-indulgence in the dining car, two hours after having left Rome. Then gliding though fishermen villages while the sun falls into the Mediterranean Sea. Good tip: when in Bari, take a fast ferry to Dubrovnic in Croatia. and enjoy a nice addition to your Italian experience.

And if your travel plans include extending your journey to Greece, consider the Eurail Attica Pass. This unique pass includes round-trip ferry travel between Italy and Greece, plus travel by ferry to the Greek islands once you’re there.

How Should Dress Shirts Fit – Principles of Fit #how #should

How a Shirt Should Fit The Principles of Fit

I appreciate all the comments and responses. As per branding and such I would love to give a more detailed response as soon a I get off my train. However I would like to briefly address the credibility issue.

As a long-time member of the style community, I am certainly concerned about the credibility of any authors I may come across, so I understand why you may be upset. However this is merely a misunderstanding. I haven t updated my LinkedIn in nearly two years (which I m assuming is the offending query) and I ve held two other jobs since I worked at the tennis club. I m currently an office manager for a financial company located in long island. I unfortunately did not have the foresight to see this becoming an issue. Additionally, please forgive any errors in this comment, as I am sendin this from my phone.

Thank you for your concern. I look forward to interfacing with you all in the near future.

how does working as a financial manager give you credibility as a fashion writer? being a part of the fashion community is very vague as well. You don t necessarily have to have a job in the fashion industry to correctly research and write an acceptable and accurate article. But you also don t site where you got your information that will give you less credibility as well.

Oi, get off Nick s back, he s only tryina earn a crust innit.

You re welcome Nick, but don t call me sir.

Hey guys, I m back to respond to some of your comments

    http://www.happenchance.net Seth M. Baker

The best-fitting shirts I ve ever owned were custom made for me while I was traveling in Cambodia. Each one cost about $15. They ve lasted longer than standard mall junk, and I find that I still enjoy wearing them.

Since this isn t an option for most people, I would recommend following this guide to get something pretty close, then taking them to a tailor for final alterations. This costs more but, in my opinion, increase the value of the shirt exponentially.

Thanks for a great article. Best fitting shirts I ve found so far are from Sangar. A company in Estonia who just opened a new online store that uses Fits.me fitting room that helps to find the best fit. Extra slim shirts are just great, just ordered a custum made shirt as well. Great quality for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the article. Clear concise points that you can use and are clear and effective.

Scrub that, just avoid wearing shirts fullstop, too formal.

This is a great article! I haven t read any of Nicholas prior work, but if he is genuinely interested in Fashion, I do not see how others have a right to attack his credibility.
I agree with all of the points in this article. Few things I would add (some of which aren t necessarily related to fit) are:
    (1) Straight or pointed collars are long narrow collars and generally are considered best for rounder faces, in order to reduce perceived width of the face. Wide or English spread collars are best used with narrower faces so as to make the wearer look more filled-out .
    (2) Back Pleats require more fabric from the shirt maker but allow for greater freedom of movement. The most common form of pleat is the center box pleat. Alternatives include side pleats.
    (3) Front plackets the placket is a piece of material on the front of the shirt where the buttonholes are placed, and should be a separate piece of cloth sewn to the front. The placket gives the shirt a definite centerline and provides greater rigidity, so that it is easier to put buttons through the buttonholes.

    (4) Shirt sleeves should be long so that 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of cuff is exposed when warn with a suit.

thx for clarifying plackets that one had me stumped till I read your explanatory post

    http://www.icustomshirts.com/ custom dress shirts

I do usually the tailoring cost isn t that expensive. I have broad shoulders so more often than not I have to for suits and shirts alike. Plus it looks better than that boxy look.

Hey, thanks this is great. Is it possible to find any information on how measurements can be taken for sticking a shirt from body measurements? For e.g if my chest is 39 inch and stomach is 32 inch, how much loosening do I need for a normal fitting shirt? Are there any formulas? Trying to learn and hence would be of great help. Thanks.

Travel Nurse Jobs: Information to Explore, Learn and Earn More #cheapest

    Travel Nurse Jobs

    Find Your Perfect Traveling

    Nurse Position

Travel nurse jobs are everywhere. The nursing shortage that the U.S. is in has made that possible and there is no end in sight. How do you find good nursing jobs?

Well, it is easy, if you take your time and do your research. There are hundreds of travel nurse companies out there, but, they are not all created equal.

There are many different requirements you should expect from your agency when you are looking to become a travel nurse.

    • What is your specialty and does the agency have contracts with hospitals that you can and want to work at?
    • What benefits are important to you? Can the agency fulfill your needs?
    • What is their pay? Is it comparable to other travel agencies?
    • Speak to a recruiter. Do they have answers to your questions? Do you get along well with them? They will be your contact for everything.
    • Does the recruiter listen to what you want instead of trying to steer you into what they have available?
    • Is the company able to help you advance in your career? Do they offer nursing continuing education?
    • Do they offer a 401K/retirement account?

Be sure to sign up for our free 5 day e-course that will give you all of the information you must have before signing up with the travel nurse agencies.

Where would you like your travel nursing career to take you?

Anything else that is important to you, speak with your recruiter. They will help you to achieve everything you need. They are there to assist their travel nurses and should be able to help guide you in all of your decisions.

Usually the packages that are being offered can be changed. For instance, if you need a 2 bedroom apartment, you can choose to not have one of the other benefits or pay a small monthly stipend. All is negotiable.

Travel nurse jobs are as varied as travel nurses. They are available in major cities and rural areas. Once you are able to determine your needs, let your recruiter know and they will set it up for you.

How Vaping is Better for Travelers

Most of my friends are travelers and all of them uses electronic cigarette instead of the traditional cigarette. The e-cigs or vaporizers are battery operated device that produce vapor smoke instead of the normal smoke. It uses e-juice or e-liquid which is made from water, flavoring and propylene glycol. The smoke coming from this device is water based making it evaporate through the air instantly just after its exhaled.

For travelers this is a very convenient device for them. It lets them vape anywhere at anytime. There are few countries and places that smoking were not allowed but except for vaping. Due to some studies, it was proven that e-cigs are smokeless making it to be allowed to be used on no-smoking areas.

Most travelers does a lot of walking and moving. We only stay at hotels at rest time or night time. What makes this device very convenient is you can easily change their batteries, some ecigs doesn t need buttons all you have to do is to inhale on the tip of the device and a smart chip will automatically detect your breath and it will produce vapor smoke for you.

If you are more on traveling by planes, this device will be perfect for you since some airlines doesn t allow smoking. But they do have smoking areas where smokers can smoke. But with e-cigs you can actually smoke even inside the plane since it s smokeless and odorless. All you need to do is ask the person sitting beside you if it doesn t bother him that you vaping.

Overall this device is the best for travelers. No need to bring lighters and ashtray which mostly airports doesn t allow. With electronic cigar all you need to bring is the device, charger and e-liquid and you are all set to go. You can actually place them all on a small pouch so you can grab them when you want to.

Get these electronic cigarettes in a more affordable price. Watch these videos to find out how.

    #

    Methodology

Don t you wish you could understand the Qur an directly? In Arabic? Without translation? Free live training reveals how to read Arabic in 21 short days!

How many times have you asked, “Why is learning Arabic so hard even though it’s supposed to be easy?”

A few? A dozen? At least once?

And how many times have you found an answer that actually gives you hope in your own ability to master it?

Exactly. Because HERE is your answer.

If you’re looking to understand the Qur’an when you stand in prayers this upcoming Ramadan, you NEED to attend this free web-class.

It’s free AND packed with more than an entire YEAR’S worth of university Arabic.

Yes, because Arabic has a CORE and CENTRAL theme that can be taught in an incredibly short period of time.

Knowing this CORE puts you head and shoulders above other students who spend YEARS studying the language as a series of disconnected rules and long lists of words.

Did you know that the majority of meanings in Arabic don’t even come from words.

    1. Vowels
    2. Patterns
    3. grammatical structures

In this free web-class, you will learn how to master the core of how Arabic ACTUALLY works by focusing on the MECHANISM that governs the conveyance of “Non-word meanings”.

What in other languages requires separate words to communicate, Arabic does it through single vowels, entire configurations of vowels (what we call patterns) and grammatical structures.

That is, the WAY in which words are combined together results in meaning ABOVE AND BEYOND the meanings you get from the individual words.

    I’ll share with you:

    > How to END low motivation and eliminate confusion surrounding the language.

    > The NEW way to master vocabulary without tedious memorization

    > How to reduce the entire language into just two issues: “sequence not determining grammar” and the “lack of ‘is issue.

    > How the Arabic language RESOLVES these two issues through two VERY SIMPLE solutions that can be summarized in a sentence each.

    > Plus a whole lot more

It’s hard to keep your enthusiasm for learning high when you’re continuously taught the basics again and again.

Told to memorize endless lists of vocabulary

And taught rules that you really don’t understand and have no earthly idea of why they’re even important

Or how they can ever lead to a better understanding of the Qur’an and Hadith

While one, two or more Ramadans come and go and you’re still stuck at the same level. Year after Year.

That’s what this system is designed to help you avoid.

Learn how to dive straight into the core of the language and focus on the aspects that matter the most.

    > Be exposed to what TRULY makes Arabic superior and unique and become emotionally connected so you never give up

    > Learn in a way that FEEDS your natural desire to learn and keeps you ENTHUSIASTIC

    > Get a complete BIG PICTURE understanding of the entire language so new rules instead of overwhelming you actually excite you because you can see HOW they tie into the big picture

All you gotta do is register here and then show up on the live training.

Then click the link below and register for this free training today.

Join me and let me show you a one-of-a-kind approach that s working really, really well.

Greece Train Travel: Learn About Trains in Greece – Rail Europe

    Greece

    Ride the Rails in Greece

Although Greece has dramatically upgraded its rail infrastructure, it s wise to travel only on the major lines. Though safe, the local rails remain slow and tough to navigate (especially for the neophyte). Exceptions? Very touristy routes like Athens to the port city Piraeus (only 20 minutes by suburban train).

We recommend the InterCity or InterCityExpress trains. From Athens, you can journey to the very hip city of Thessaloniki (check out the fashion and the food) and onwards towards Katerini (home to several archeological digs). From there travel to ancient Corinth in just ninety minutes, and then to the port of Patras. Final destination? Argos, arguably Greece s oldest city, and the ruins of the Heraeum temple where the goddess Hera was revered.

Most IC and ICE trains offer decent comfort in second class, but first class is still preferable (except on very short journeys). On longer trips, on-board food services are good and reasonably priced.

Seat assignments vary by train and route. If you purchase a ticket for travel within Greece from Rail Europe, you will receive an ticket without a reservation. If a seat reservation is required or If you re traveling with a pass (e.g. Eurail Pass, Balkan Pass), you may book your reservation locally since they re only available within Greece. Use the OSE (Greek railways) offices in the main cities. They re less crowded and more helpful, and the reservation is free.

And if your travel plans include visiting both Italy and Greece, consider the Eurail Attica Pass. This pass includes round-trip ferry travel between Italy and Greece, plus travel to the Greek islands once you re there.

Switzerland Train Travel: Learn About Trains in Switzerland – Rail Europe

Ireland Train Travel: Learn About Trains in Ireland – Rail Europe

    #ireland travel

    Ireland

    Get on Board in Ireland

Ireland is a compact country, and it usually doesn’t take more than three hours to travel between two Irish cities. Trains run at a good speed, much faster than driving, especially if you re slightly bemused navigating from the left side.

Intercities services link Dublin to most cities, and there are a few cross-country services that skip the capital altogether. The brand-new trains on the Dublin to Cork line offer the most frequent and modern service, and it s worth opting for a first class seat (Comfort). Although not included in your ticket price, some rails (like the Enterprise between Dublin and Belfast ) offer food service at your seat. And, it s so worth paying a little extra to savor smoked salmon that once traveled the very rivers your train is passing by.

The most popular rail journeys include Dublin to Belfast, Cork or Galway. Galway, considered by many Ireland s cultural heart, is also its third largest city, and the journey from coast to coast is breathtaking indeed. Its churches (like St. Nicholas, founded in 1320 and thought to be visited by Colombus) and museums (the works of James Joyce are here, naturally) make it a city worth exploring, even if you can just spare a day. But then again, this is Ireland! Extend your stay and take a boat to the often travelogued Aran Islands.

Good to know: in spite of the small size of the cities, Irish Rail offers frequent service on its main lines, typically at hour or two-hour intervals. So you ll have lots of flexibility, and can easily schedule early morning, late afternoon, or day return trips.

20 Life Lessons You Learn Traveling the World in Your 20 s

    StumbleUpon

This week I hit a life milestone. I transitioned out of my 20’s and into my 30’s.  In the past, the thought of turning 30 was always followed by a flop sweat, yelling at the top of my lungs, and a mild panic attack.

However, as this new decade of my life clicks over like the hands of a clock, I find that my nervousness has been replaced by excitement.

The main reason for this is because I am totally in love with where I am in life.

I spent at least three months out of every year in my 20’s traveling with the exception of one, in which was I was busy working, tying up loose ends, and saving for long term travel .

I’m not going to lie. It hasn t always been all fun and games. I’ve had some hard moments. Some of these have included endless debates with myself about whether I should look for a career or risk everything to see the world.

I also have suffered the discouragement of many people that have said that what I was doing was wrong. Plus, traveling and working is not always easy to balance.

Traveling full time is like anything else in life. It takes hard work and passion to accomplish your goals.

I’ve fought through the discouragement, doubt, and more sacrifices than I care to mention. However, every single moment of it has been worth it. I have found that the rewards I get from traveling far out way the sacrifices.

Looking back, I realize that I am obviously not the same person I was at 20. Travel has completely effected every fiber of whom I am.

So in honor of everyone out there (still in your 20 s) t rying to make your travel dreams come true, I thought I would share 20 ways in which traveling will change you, and some of the benefits of traveling the world .

Thailand – Learn, Volunteer and Travel

    What s Not Included

    Location

Sing Buri is a beautiful town located 142 km north of Bangkok. It was founded during the reign of King Rama V through consolidation of 3 small towns located on the bank of The Chao Phraya River, north of Ang Thong. The town boasts an impressive collection of temples and colorful architecture that create the perfect backdrop for the numerous festivals held during the year.

    About the Project

This project is designed to bring support and education to the communities of Sing Buri. Project coordinators place volunteers from all over the world in schools and orphanages so they can either help with teaching or construction work.

    Volunteer Work and Contribution

You will have the option to choose between teaching at local schools and participating in construction projects at one of two orphanages.

Teaching: At this placement you will teach students aged 4-21 English or physical education in one of many rural schools in Sing Buri. The schools accept an informal teaching approach, meaning that you are able to use your own methods or style to educate the students. When volunteering, your duties may include:

    • Informally teaching and assisting with school work
    • Creating activities for the students
    • Arranging workshops for cultural exchange, environmental awareness, and other important issues

Thai schools show respect each day to the King of Thailand and may ask participants to join the 8 o clock morning ceremony and be part of the morning exercises that are common in Thai schools. Please note that the subjects taught are subject to change depending on current activities in the schools, which might include, for example, environmental issues or current festivals.

Orphanage Effort: Most large orphanages in Thailand also have a primary and secondary school on their grounds for both orphans and poor children in remote area of the country. The children from outside the orphanage have limited access to education so they travel to the orphanage for lessons and return home during certain periods of the year. The orphans remain in the orphanage year-round where they can enjoy a safe and secure environment with food and housing. You will be volunteering at two main orphanages and your duties may include:

    • Maintaining the orphanage buildings and grounds.
    • Renovating and light construction projects

A typical day: At the school placement your schedule can be flexible, but you should be prepared to volunteer 3-6 hours a day beginning at 8:30am, Monday to Friday. At the orphanage, you will also volunteer around 3-6 hours a day, but will begin working after 9am, Monday to Friday.

IMPORTANT: When confirming your dates, please take note of the long holidays (which are from mid-March until mid-May and during all of October). During such times the kids leave the orphanages and go back to their families or their villages, and special classes and English camps are arranged, as well as renovation projects. Additionally, when relevant, volunteers are able to take part in the cultural festivities occurring in the area.

    Living Arrangements

Accommodations: You will live in one of 3 Eco Houses in Sing Buri. The houses sleep 30-72 people and have single gender shared rooms with the 2 bunk beds, with up to 4 per room. All rooms have a private western toilet and shower. A private room is available for an additional fee (please inquire upon registration if interested).

The houses are walking distance or a very short bike ride to the local villages of Tha Kham or Tha Chang. There, you can find ATM s, pharmacy doctor surgeries, convince stores and local food markets. The local school Wat Klang Tha Kham also has a swimming pool, which you are allowed to use for a fee.

These houses are situated about 8-15 km from the town of Sing Buri depending on which house you stay at. In Sing Buri you will find all the amenities you could need i.e. internet, shops, swimming pool, hospital, pharmacy, banks and restaurants.

Food: All meals are provided daily and are typical Thai fare, including plenty of rice dishes. Meals at the house are all vegetarian.

Laundry: This can be done by hand, or at a local launderette (walking distance) or the locals can was for you at a small fee.

Internet: All houses have free WiFi.

You are expected to be environmentally aware and to use all resources with restraint, especially water, paper and electricity. You will be expected to clean up after yourself, and to play your part to keep the accommodation neat and organized.

    Travel Extras

You can extend your stay with one or more great program add-ons for an additional fee. Choose from one or more of the following and sign up upon registration.

Culture Week (Recommended): This 7-day jam-packed week is a great opportunity to learn about Thailand and meet other international volunteers. It offers you tours around historical areas (Ayutthaya historical park), Thai language lessons, cooking lessons, taste-testing (Thai BBQ), school visits, sightseeing (Wat Phra Phutthabat Temple (Buddha s footprint)), and so much more! Turkey Train Travel: Learn About Trains in Turkey – Rail Europe

    Turkey

    Get on Board in Turkey

Turkey is the European gateway to Asia, and probably one of the most exciting and romantic countries in the world, even for the most ho-hum traveler.

Istanbul was once the end-station of the Orient-Express, taking travelers from London and Paris to the Bosphorus Strait, one of the world s most strategic waterways. Today, there are services from Beograd, Thessaloniki, Bucharest, or Sofia. Allow a good twenty hours for these trips (sixteen for Thessaloniki). The Istanbul station (also known as Haydarpasa) still exudes the grandeur of its early days, but don t expect anything resembling luxury services.

Trains are not an ideal way to experience Turkey (bus is preferred), as train travel is slow, and limited. However, there are a couple of routes where trains are a very viable, safe option: Ankara to Istanbul, and lines on the European side. Moreover, the anticipated completion of the Istanbul to Ankara hi-speed line will dramatically reduce journey time between these two cities (just three hours).

Always travel first class in Turkey. At a local station, you can book a single or a double compartment in a sleeping car on night trains; both offer good comfort on major routes.

For travelers with more than their share of moxie, Turkey tempts delightful discoveries. Journey east by train, and explore the Middle East. And although train travel to Iraq has been suspended, there s still a weekly service to Tehran and Damascus with the Trans-Asian Express. Just allow a good (ahem?) sixty-six hours to reach the Iranian capital.

Rail Europe doesn t offer train tickets for Turkey. We do recommend you purchase a Balkan Pass, which also provides flexible travel in Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Romania. And now, Turkey is automatically included if you purchase a Eurail Global Pass. And it s also an option if you purchase a Eurail Select Pass. Don t forget to make your reservations locally.

For more information on Turkey contact the Turkey Tourist Board .

Italy Train Travel: Learn About Trains in Italy – Rail Europe
