Taste of India Tour – Imaginative Traveller – India Message Board

Hi WellingtonKiwi,The carriage was divided into compartments with just curtains across to the dividing corridor. We rested more than slept, originally when we joined the train in Agra we were assigned a top and bottom bunk but the gentleman opposite on the lower bunk asked if we d like to change and he went to the upper bunk above me which was very kind. The remaining bunk didn t seem to be taken at first but I think the guard must have let someone have the use of it (probably for a fee!!), and there were constant coming and goings during station stops as different passengers changed out. I suppose at least you can lie down and the linen for the bed wasn t too bad although the padded seat wasn t exactly the height of luxury (not that we expected it to be). The guard kept a good check on the carriage, we took a bicycle lock which we passed through the handles of our bags and onto a hook under our bunks. However our bags weren t that light and it would have been a miracle if anyone could have tried to take them away without being notice. Just be prepared for an experience, if there is an option for a 1 a/c carriage you are in a compartment with a door. Let me know if you want any more information and I ll be glad to supply it.

Selecting the Most Effective Advertising Media

Q: Where can I get reliable response rate statistics for different advertising media?

A: I m wagering you d like to calculate your own, personal answer to the age-old question: If I spend this much money on advertising, what can I expect to see as a result?

A few years ago, a team from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia set out to establish the definitive answer to that very question. Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Colgate-Palmolive and a host of other big companies collectively invested more than a million dollars so that Wharton might track the return-on-investment experienced by several dozen small businesses as a result of advertising. These businesses were scientifically monitored and measured for seven long years. The final report filled more than 2,500 pages. Only three conclusions were reached:

1. There is no direct correlation between dollars invested and results gained. In other words, how much you spend and what you can expect to see in return are not directly linked by any kind of mathematical equation.

2. Results are inextricably linked to the message. Two advertisers invest the same amount of money reaching the same target audience. One succeeds brilliantly and buys the mansion on the hilltop. The other fails miserably, receiving no response whatsoever. The difference between these two was in the message of their ads.

Ads that speak to the heart of the customer and touch a nerve are the ones that turn little companies into big companies. But few people know how to write such an ad. Most business owners approach advertising with the goal of merely getting their name out. But there is no evidence to suggest this will help you in the slightest. The Wharton study indicates that everything hinges on the message you attach to your name. Is your message predictable and, consequently, boring? Is it believable? Is it relevant to the perceived need of the reader/listener/viewer? Tempt a dog with a bowl of rice, and he ll ignore you. Put a steak in the bowl, and you ll have his undivided attention. Your prospective customers are no different. What have you been putting in their bowls?

3. Results increase with repetition. When you ve identified a message that generates a positive response and you deliver that message consistently, business growth in year two will be approximately twice the growth of year one. Growth in year three will be approximately triple the growth of year one, with growth measured in dollars, not percentages. But following year three, anything can happen. Your business can explode exponentially, or it can flatten out as though hitting an invisible glass ceiling. I ve seen clients grow to 70 times their original size, and I ve seen clients slowly grow to only double or triple their original volume and then flatten out. The difference is in the clients, not in the ads.

The follow-up question I m sure you re dying to ask is, OK, let s assume we ve found a message that works. Now which medium is going to give me the most for my money? Again there s no simple answer, but I ll try to give you a frame of reference. These are the major media, with some more expensive than others. The one that s right for you depends entirely on your business.

  • Outdoor advertising/billboards: These reach more people for a dollar than any other media, but are limited to a picture and no more than eight words.
  • Radio: Reaches the second most people for a dollar, but cannot be targeted geographically and can only be loosely demographically targeted. But if people will drive significant distances to buy your product, or if you re selling a we come to you service, this is likely your best bet.
  • Cable television: Offers the impact of moving images as well as spoken words. Can easily be geographically targeted. But your ad will likely look homemade.
  • Broadcast television: Big prestige. Big bucks. But able to target psychographic profiles. Buy specific shows; never buy a rotator.
  • Newspapers: Reach customers who are in the market to buy today. Unfortunately, people not currently in the market for your product or service are less likely to notice your ad than if it had appeared in another media.
  • Magazines: Expensive, but high-impact with tight targeting. Little waste. Weakness is infrequency of repetition.
  • Direct mail: Highly targeted, all the way down to the level of the individual. But shockingly expensive to do right.
  • Yellow Pages: Essentially a service directory for the customer who has not yet made up his or her mind. Very foolish for retail businesses.

118 Travel – do not use – ****avoid****

Bimingham

04 March 2014, 16:37

I was looking for a holiday to Marrakech and the holiday package was not available from my usual Agent and found the holiday via Travel Supermarket’s ‘approved’ travel firm 118 Travel.

In hindsight I now regret making the booking. It has been more trouble than I can take and the stress has been overwhelming. I am usually not this thoughtless when I book my holidays.

I phoned to speak with Sales (Andy) on Tel: 0207 741 1281 who took my booking. After the sale went through, he gave me another number Tel: 0207 741 1291 for any sales queries.

During the sale, Andy was rather pushy, knew his stuff. He did sell me some extras and against my better judgment, I took him up on the offers (e.g. room upgrade, Hammam, aqua park), on top of the extra baggage and transfers that were also not included in the original price.

118 Travel seemed okay from what I was looking at on their website and I saw their ATOL and ABTA references and they both checked out to be genuine in connection with other firms too

It was after I made the booking that I was excited and wanted to look more at the holiday I bought when I then stumbled across LOADS of bad stuff about 118 Travel, about their rude staff and the impossible nature to speak to anyone, the corrections to their documents and flights not leaving etc. This made me think that I bought a bogus holiday. It was too late to phone last night, but I did manage to speak to them today.

Yes, the staff are rude and very cagy about giving me information about MY holiday booking. This made me more frightened that I bought a dodgy deal and was very distressed that I had spent a lot of money. When they did eventually give me SOME details about the holiday, they also quoted me a much low price than what I had paid for and the payment transfer was authorized, so again I was worried. Obviously I couldn’t cancel this and I even asked my bank, but they said “no”, as I guessed they would.

I phoned Thomson Fly who did have the booking on file and I even spoke to the hotel who agreed the booking too, but that was before I even got to speak with Andy. My room upgrade was not provided to the hotel either, so that is worrying too. It was a stressful day having to sort this out and when I eventually got through, Andy said that he was in a rush to complete the documents and then reissued them.

It was after all this rigmarole that I realized too that this was not a package deal, only separate elements married together and with no travel rep too.

Having gone through this hassle, sleepless night, I really hope that this holiday is genuine and that all my documents are fine and I have a great holiday.

In future, I shall book through Thomas Cook or Thomson direct, as they offer great level of customer service and although I have nothing against foreign speaking people (hence going on holiday), the call centre I phoned was I believe based in India, where the payment was processed too, which made me more nervous about the genuine nature of my holiday, together with how cagy they were being.

Lesson learnt. Should’ve gone elsewhere. I ll report back if and when I go on holiday to let you know the experience I had.

More bang for your buck

I was not impressed or disgusted enough to leave a comment on this film. So why am I typing now? I saw this was in the bottom 100 here on IMDB. It wasn’t that bad. Actually I enjoyed it, but I was in the mood to not think and just watch stuff blow up (having a bad day). That’s what I got. Lots and lots of explosions, and fun action, there were more explosions then dialouge. There is some plot here, but don’t watch this for realism or story. It’s a cartoon, a video game, just mindless action and entertainment, and thats why its worth seeing and doesn’t belong on the bottom 100.

It doesn’t come close to being a must see action flick (see the first 2 Lethal Weapons, Die Hard, Escape from New York or dozens of others), but it’s not that bad.

Invincible, imaginative, inspiring

Doctor Who just works. However you watch it, as a fan or casual viewer, there is something there for you; and if there s not, well, try a different era. It helps that it s got 52 years currently under its belt, and so there is and has been for a long time, an element of nostalgia to the show– recurring villains, references, companions or places/planets that get revisited just to please the people who ve been watching long enough. But that s not all there is to it: because every year, there s some kind of hidden gem of an episode that s a shining example of great television, along with the scary, funny, tense episodes we have all come to expect from this show. One of its strongest merits is its constant adaptability. There are different writers almost every week, different companions every other series, different doctors, different locations, directors, genres, threats and ideas. For every one abysmal episode (and there are a few of them), there are some absolutely stunning ones too. I d recommend Heaven Sent, Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Blink, The Pandorica Opens, A Good Man Goes to War, Asylum of the Daleks, Flatline, and The Day of the Doctor. It s a show that never dies. Of course, it will get cancelled at some point, maybe, just as it did before; and then it will live on. It will get picked up again. TV just isn t the same without it.

If you re new, it s best to start with some classic stand-alone stories to get into them. Maybe try a few from each series to work out who your favourite Doctor/companion combination are. Smith and Jones is a lovely episode to start with (it s where I started)–the season 3 opener, with a new, companion, a reintroduction to the Tenth Doctor, and a wholly entertaining episode. Other great places to start are Rose (although there s a lot of catching up to do), The Eleventh Hour (a completely brand new start– perfect if you know absolutely nothing about anything in the show), and Deep Breath (an introduction to the current Doctor, with a few entertaining characters who have already been in the show before). Generally, starting with a Series 1-4 episode will be much easier, with simpler stories, a new companion/Doctor each series, and some enjoyable, if upsetting, season finales. Series 6-9 are harder to start at, with characters carried over from previous seasons, and plot lines and mysteries also carried on with. The individual episodes within the seasons, however, need no foreknowledge at all: for Season 6, be sure to try The Doctor s Wife and The Girl Who Waited; Season 7, try Asylum of the Daleks, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship and The Bells of St John; Season 8, try Flatline, Listen, or Kill the Moon; and Season 9, try The Girl Who Died/The Woman Who Lived, The Zygon Invasion/Inversion; and Heaven Sent (which is absolutely incredible). It s a lot of episodes, which for some seems too much. For me, however, it s never enough.

Surreal and hilarious

Home Alone is one of the most popular movies from the early 90 s. Its success was phenomenal and it also made Macaulay Culkin a superstar.

The plot is quite original and surreal: a child who is home alone and capable of making the bandits s lives miserable? Sure, it s an impossible story, but who cares? Far from being a perfect movie, it is however okay and fun to watch, entertaining and contains slapstick humor too although I don t like some of the language used.

Our story takes place in Chicago at Christmas time, which makes this a Christmas film. In fact, the movie has lots of Christmas decorations, lights, snow and many other details which create the feeling and magic so characteristic of Christmas. To accent the Christmas atmosphere even more, there are a cup of nice Christmas carols such as Rockin Around the Christmas Tree (performed by Brenda Lee), You re a mean one, Mr. Grinch , White Christmas , Carol of the Bells , Oh Holly Night and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and some brilliant instrumental musics.

Kevin McCallister is the hero of the story. He s not just any kid, he s a very smart one. He also knows all about the intentions of the wet bandits Harry and Marv and prepares them lots of unexpected surprises . Their lives won t be easy with Kevin defending his house. Sure, they are the villains and as such they get what they deserve, but they do suffer a lot too. We almost feel sorry for them.

The wet bandits were nicknamed like that by Marv because their calling card (according to him) was to let the water running in every houses they robbed. That said, both wet bandits are hilarious. Harry is more cranky, while Marv is the most stupid of the two (although both are stupid) and maybe that s why people tend to sympathize more with him. Marv s stupidity also makes him the funniest of the two. Marv is the typical tall and clumsy guy with no brain, a bit like Averell Dalton from the Lucky Luke comics.

The movie has lots of funny moments. The funniest for me is when Harry and Marv pretend to be Santa Claus and his elf and the way Harry speaks in that scene, followed by the even funnier part when Kevin fires at Harry s pants. Whenever Kevin fools the bandits in a try to make them believe the whole family is at home when Kevin is all alone is funny too. For some reason, I also find funny whenever Kevin screams maniacally (particularly when he says he s not afraid anymore and sees Old Marley and screams out loud.

The scenes which Kevin fools and scares the Little Nero s Pizza boy and Marv with the gangster film Angels with Filthy Souls are hilarious, but in the case of the Pizza boy it is unfair for him. There was no need to scare the hell out of him – he was just delivering pizza and wasn t after Kevin.

Old Marley is an interesting character. I always felt sorry for him because of the lies Buzz tells about him. And the man never did anything bad to anyone. Buzz is a jerk and Uncle Frank is even worse. Buzz is mean for Kevin and Uncle Frank openly dislikes Kevin. When Uncle Frank tells Kevin Look what you did, you little jerk! , Kevin s parents should tell him something like Frank, stay out of this and shut up! .

The church is magnificent. It s one of the biggest and most beautiful churches I ve ever seen in a movie.

Macaulay Culkin is terrific as the clever kid Kevin McCallister. Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are awesome as the wet bandits and Roberts Blossom is great as the character Old Marley. It s also delightful to see John Candy as Gus Polinski, the Polka King of the Midwest .

Don t Misunderestimate this Film

Lefties expecting a hatchet-job will be as disappointed as Righties expecting a hatchet-job. Demonstrating decency and restraint far beyond what his subject is deserving of, Oliver Stone demonstrates rare wisdom and the hindsight of someone trying to understand this period of history from a standpoint of decades in the future. He creates a film that swings wildly between comedy and tragedy, tragi-comedy and comic tragedy in his portrait of a man who though born to privilege, needs to have greatness thrust upon him-and is not up to the task he seeks. It is. and I do not use this term lightly: Shakespearean.

Josh Brolin s Oscar-worthy performance manages two amazing feats: 1) He makes you forgot you are watching Josh Brolin as he portrays W. over a 40-year period and 2) He makes even a left-leaner like myself forget how much one may hate George W. Bush. I just wanted to yell at the screen ala Rocky Horror, You seem to be a nice guy who enjoys people. stay with baseball. All of the supporting cast of characters in the Bush Dynasty are handled with dignity and respect (particularly James Cromwell as Bush the First), and Stone is decent enough to leave the Bush Twins out of it. Jeffrey Wright might be up for a Best Supporting Actor nod for his thoughtful and restrained portrayal of Colin Powell.

I am racking my brain trying to remember when recent history was made into such a vital film; this is the antithesis to a quickie made-for-TV movie about Amy Fischer and the like.

rehashed storyline creatively told

In reality, there are a finite amount of interesting story lines to tell. What makes one movie telling the same storyline more worthwhile to see is a combination of creative expression, in depth character development, superb acting, exquisite photography, and believability, or the ability to persuade the moviegoer to suspend disbelief.

How many times have we been exposed to a retelling of Shirley Temple’s Heidi, where a young non-related child falls into the life of an old curmudgeon, and teaches that curmudgeon to enjoy life and/or develop morals and values? Too many times for me, so I was reluctant to see this film. It would have been a shame had I not.

There are many creative twists and turns along the way to keep the suspense level up in this film. The photography in Rio is OK, but once out in the Brazilian countryside, it is fantastic. At the end of the film, there is little doubt but that the way this story turns out is how it would have had to turn out. The character development of Josue is a little weak, but that of Dora is superb. And you will see a lot of films before you will see an acting performance like Fernanda Montenegro’s as Dora again.

This movie thankfully is not overly sentimental, that would get in the way of the story, it is just a great film to watch and enjoy. 9 of 10.

10 причин моей ненависти (1999 )

Storyline

Adapted from William Shakespeare’s play “The Taming of the Shrew,” 10 Things I Hate About You starts off with Cameron, new student at Padua High, sitting in the office of the quirky guidance counselor Ms. Perky. He is then shown around the school by Michael, who will become his best friend. During his tour is when Cameron first sees Bianca Stratford, a beautiful sophomore with one problem: she isn’t allowed to date. And neither is her “shrew” sister, Katarina, a senior who loves indie rock and feminist prose and hates conformity. But Kat and Bianca’s father alters his house rule: now, Bianca can date. as long as Kat has a date, too. Now, in order for Cameron to date Bianca, he has to find someone to date Kat. So Michael helps him enlist the help of pretty-boy/jerk/model Joey Donner, tricking him into thinking that *he* will get to take Bianca out if he pays someone to take out Kat. His choice: Patrick Verona, a bad-boy with a mysterious reputation–some say he ate a live duck once. Written by Erica Baffa

One of the best teen movies of all time.

I can’t say enough good things about this movie. I do remember the first time I saw it, coming away thinking that I wanted to be just like Julia Stiles’ character in it, though. She was so cool and did such an excellent job in her role, that still to this day I consider her to be the coolest teen in any ‘teen movie’.

Basic Plot: Cameron (Levitt), a new student at Pagua high school, falls in love with a sophomore named Bianca Stradford (Oleynik).

However, Bianca has a flirtatious crush on the most popular senior at school named, Joey (Keegan). Cameron’s sidekick Michael (Krumholtz)tells him, that Bianca is looking for someone to help her with French and Cameron decides that’s how he’ll ask her out on a date.

Kat Stradford (Stiles) is Bianca’s sister. Totally opposite of Bianca, she is anti-social and is the most feminist high school senior you could ever meet. Against boys, dances, and anything having to do with prepiness and silly fun, she swears off dating and finds herself being accepted to Sarah Lawrence a college across the country in hopes to get away from her father and the city she lives in.

Bianca desperately wanting to date, is told by her father (Miller) that she will be allowed to date when her sister Kat does. Desperate and not knowing how to get her sister to ‘date for her’, ends up asking Cameron, her new French tutor, to help her with her predicament. Enter Patrick (Ledger). An outcast and rumored to have sold his kidneys on the black market for a new set of speakers, also attends Padgua high, and is unsuspecting of what will happen soon in his future.

Cameron and Micheal decide that in order to make this work, they need a backer. Someone who’s stupid, but has money. So they go to Joey, telling him that they know he likes Bianca, and they need him to pay Patrick a tidy sum, to have him date Kat, in order for him to date Bianca. What Joey doesn’t know, is that Cameron secretly plans to date Bianca, while he pays Patrick to take out Kat.

It may sound like a very confusing movie. But it is so funny, cleverly written, and not entirely true of American teenage culture, but pretty close. The acting is wonderful and in my opinion nothing in the movie would have worked as well, without the people who played their characters. As I said before I think that Stiles’ portration of Kat Stradford was right on, and no one could have done it better. Her best role, more than certainly, and I love this movie so much! I would have to say it’s my favorite teen comedy next to The Breakfast Club. One the best movies, and a great watch!

I give it a 10 out of 10. Go rent it, or better yet go buy it! You won’t regret it!

Hi I bookes an all-inclusive Holiday with Travelsoon on the Internet – On arrival in Cyprus Papos we were take to Eleni Holiday Village, and the duty manger told us we were not on his guest list?

He said they do it all the time.

He took our accommodation voucher and rang the number on the voucher, after half an hour he said I have found somewhere you can stay, we asked why we can not stay at the Eleni Village, and he said we are Full.

He said the agents just take the bookings then hope they can accommodate the bookings.

A cab took us to the Paffian Sun Holiday Village.

On arrival we asked who sent us here and to check we will not get an extra bill etc-

We were told they did not know who sent us here and did not know anything regarding our situation apart from we can stay at their Holiday Village as an All-Inclusive Guest?

Next day we again asked if the reception could get us in touch with the organisers who sent us to the Pafian Sun, they said they did not know who to contact, and due to the Eleni Village Duty Manager keeping our accommodation voucher. of what we thought he needed to cross charge our stay at the other Holiday Village, we had no contact details, and we had no one at home to get copy s off our computer etc,All so we were on holiday and did not need the stress of chasing why and how etc. until we got home –

We did ask a Thomas Cook Repmat out Venus if they had any dealings or knew how to contact Travelsoon, but we were told they have not heard of them?

On return we have had been trying tto get an answer since last early October 2012- as to why we were miss sold a holiday package and each time we send a letter to them it takes a month to reply or more-

We wer also told ournhold luggage would be £30 pound a bag when we confirmed we need two bags it went up to £55 .50 per bag.

We ask as to who got the extra money above the £39 pound and to date refuse to reply on that point.

I m About to report my situation regarding Travelsoon and Bedwithease – too the two local offices of Fairtrading and to Abta-

Also to the TV programme on Rip-Off Holidays that runs several times a year.

If you are interested, we could share our experience s and try to stop firms mugging normal people.

And hide behind e/mails-

We have just booked a holiday to benidormin this october, we had paid 510 pound on the 18th aug to this company, and then because we had to change the dates due to work, they charged us another 250 pounds. We have just foned this number we had all the time, and they are saying they have no recollection of us paying any money. We are fuming, they have said now that there is no reference number to this number to this holiday.

They re atrocious.

Paid over 2K for 10 day holiday via Jetline in Ios, Greece. They didn t book the hotel! We turned up after a 14 hour journey to find this out.

The hotel staff at Dionysos resort were excellent and sorted us out with alternative accommodation as best they could but it s not what they paid for. If it hadn t been for them we would have been really stuck.

Took multiple emails to Jetline to get any response at all (they woke when we contacted them via Twitter Facebook). It was weeks afterwards we got some small amount of compensation, after rejecting a derisory first offer. We were to worn out by the constant uselessness of them to carry on fighting.

Our experience was to be: a) ignored at first b) fobbed off for a while c) be offered a small amount of money (with a patronising note).

To recap: Paid Jetline 2k. They didn t book the hotel. They did nothing to help sort out an alternative. Gave us a small amount of money back.

Want this experience? No? Then I recommend giving Jetline a wide berth.

Benicio Del Toro – Biography #biography, #photos, #awards, #news, #message #boards

Biography

Mini Bio (1)

Benicio Del Toro emerged in the mid-1990s as one of the most watchable and charismatic character actors to come along in years. A favorite of film buffs, Del Toro gained mainstream public attention as the conflicted but basically honest Mexican policeman in Steven Soderbergh ‘s (2000).

Benicio was born on February 19, 1967 in San Germán, Puerto Rico, the son of lawyer parents Fausta Genoveva Sanchez Rivera and Gustavo Adolfo Del Toro Bermudez. His mother died when he was young, and his father moved the family to a farm in Pennsylvania. A basketball player with an interest in acting, he decided to follow the family way and study business at the University of California in San Diego. A class in acting resulted in his being bitten by the acting bug, and he subsequently dropped out and began studying with legendary acting teacher Stella Adler in Los Angeles and at the Circle in the Square Acting School in New York City. Telling his parents that he was taking courses in business, Del Toro hid his new studies from his family for a little while.

During the late 1980s, he made several television appearances, most notably in an episode of : (1984) and in the NBC miniseries Drug Wars: The Camarena Story (1990). Del Toro’s big-screen career got off to a slower start, however–his first role was Duke the Dog-Faced Boy in – (1988). However, things looked better when he landed the role of Dario, the vicious henchman in the James Bond film (1989). Surprising his co-stars at age 21, Del Toro was the youngest actor ever to portray a Bond villain. However, the potential break was spoiled as the picture turned out to be one of the most disappointing Bond films ever; this was lost amid bigger summer competition.

Staying true to his independent roots, he next gave a charismatic turn as cold-blooded gangster Gaspare Spoglia in (1996) directed by Abel Ferrara. He also appeared as Benny Dalmau in (1996), directed by artist friend Julian Schnabel. That year also marked his first truly commercial film, as he played cocky Spanish baseball star Juan Primo in (1996), which starred Robert De Niro. Del Toro took his first leading man role in (1997), starring and produced by Alicia Silverstone. Hand-picked by Silverstone, Del Toro’s performance was pretty much the only thing critics praised about the film, and showed the level of consciousness he was beginning to have in the minds of film fans.

He took a leading role with his good friend Johnny Depp in C – (1998), co-written and directed by the legendary Terry Gilliam. Gaining 40 pounds for the role of Dr. Gonzo, the drug-addicted lawyer to sportswriter Raoul Duke, Benicio immersed himself totally in the role. Using his method acting training so far as to burn himself with cigarettes for a scene, this was a trying time for Del Toro. The harsh critical reviews proved tough on him, as he felt he had given his all for the role and been dismissed. Many saw the crazed, psychotic performance as a confirmation of the rumors and overall weirdness that people seemed to place on Del Toro.

Taking a short break after the ordeal, 2000 proved to be the second “Year of Benicio”. He first appeared in (2000), directed by friend and writer Christopher McQuarrie. Then he went to work for actor’s director Steven Soderbergh in (2000). A complex and graphic film, this nonetheless became a widespread success and Oscar winner. His role as conflicted Mexican policeman Javier Rodriguez functions as the movie’s real heart amid an all-star ensemble cast, and many praised this as the year’s best performance, a sentiment validated by a Screen Actor’s Guild Award for “Best Actor”. He also gave a notable performance in (2000) directed by Guy Ritchie. which was released several weeks later, and (2001) directed by Sean Penn. Possessing sleepy good looks reminiscent of James Dean or Marlon Brando. Del Toro has often jokingly been referred to as the “Spanish Brad Pitt “.

With his newfound celebrity, Del Toro has become a sort of heartthrob, being voted one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People” as well as “Most Eligible Bachelors”. A favorite of film fans for years for his diverse and “cool guy” gangster roles, he is currently becoming a mainstream favorite respected for his acting skills and choices. So far very careful in his choices and who he works with, Del Toro can boast an impressive resume of films with some of the most influential and respected people in the film business.

Trade Mark (5)

Deep raspy voice

Slurred mumbling voice and odd mannerisms

Frequently portrays dark, tragic characters

best at travel

Never had any experience with them, so can t help there.

Just be sure to read the terms and conditions VERY carefully. It seems that many posters complaining about websites would have made their lives easier if they d just had a thorough read through of the terms and conditions before making a purchase.

We booked our holiday with Best at travel earlier this year.

This was my biggest mistake and the worst experience of our travel lives !

I guess you may get away with them if nothing goes wrong with your holiday before. during or after.

But be aware – if they do mess up – they mess up big and totally not interested in solving their own mistakes.

The holiday we had – was not the one we chose. and paid for – but Best at travel interpretation of what our holiday should have been like according to what we have paid.

They managed to waste 8 weeks of our lives solving nothing.

I guess it was their strategy from the start – try to waste as much time as they could – so there is not enough time to go to arbitrage as we were faced with pre-departure dispute.

I am not going to tell you all 8 weeks of this nightmare but here are some of Best at Travel pearls which may give an idea of what they are:

“ we will upgrade you from a SEA VIEW VILLA ( we originally booked) to a GARDEN VILLA”

– Brilliant. I just cant resist this upgrade.

It took us another 3 or 4 weeks to explain Customer Service girl and her manager that it cannot be possible considered “ an upgrade”

only to hear in return. “ well, in our opinion – it is a brilliant free upgrade!!”

“ we had to cancel your original stay at this hotel due to unforeseen circumstances. The hotel is having planned building works during your stay”

So, to sum up – that is UNFORESEEN PLANNED BUILDING WORKS- have you ever heard of them before.

“ we can assure you that no further disruptions to your holidays will be during your stay “/

Ok, could you then please add a compensation paragraph in case there are further disruptions. ”

Reply – NO, we cannot compensate you if there are further disruptions.

“ we did not cancel your holiday package. we simply cannot provide you with the hotel stay you booked. “

And loads of other ones. which I am sure will stay with me forever.

Other more complex problems we had:

-totally ignoring Travel Regulations;

– customer service – it appears that basic listening and comprehending skills were not present at a time.

They are bonded by ABTA.

But let me tell you this – ABTA will not do much for you other than tell you how to go to arbitrage court and how much it will cost you.

I actually do not understand now what is the purpose of ABTA existence?

They do not solve disputes but provide rather vague guidance, which any travel regulation will provide you with anyway. In addition you have to wait something like 28 days reply from them for something you already knew from diy reading.

Oh well, stay away from best at a travel and you live happily ever after !
