The experiences you develop during the program have the potential to set you apart from others in your field.

Networking: The alliances that you form with your classmates may last a lifetime and the network that you create can be one of the most important and valuable things you take away from an MBA program. MBA graduates have said they often felt that the associations formed during the program were invaluable and could be drawn upon for years after they have earned their degree.

There are a number of MBA program specializations to choose from, including information security, operations management and accounting. A maximum of 36 units of 1000 level courses
One Arts major (48 units)
One Arts minor, specialisation or a second Arts major (24 units/48 units)
Elective courses from the College of Arts and Social Sciences

About this degree

Single degree
In a Bachelor of Arts program you will study a total of 144 units. Typically you will take 4 courses per semester (total of 24 units) as a full time student giving you a total of 24 (6-unit) courses across your whole degree.
You’ll need to take one Arts major (8 courses) and one Arts minor (or specialisation) (4 courses), and four Arts electives (4 courses). If you’d like to, you can use your Arts electives to extend your Arts minor into a second Arts major. You’ll also get to choose eight electives from courses right across ANU. You can use these electives to try a range of courses or to take a major or minor in a non-Arts subject.

In a Bachelor of Arts double degree program you will study a total of 96 units. Typically you will take 4 courses per semester (total of 24 units) as a full time student giving you a total of 16 courses across your whole degree. However, for each semester you are likely to take 2 courses from your Bachelor of Arts degree and then 2 courses from the other half of your double degree – still a total of 4 courses a semester.

You’ll need to take one Arts major (8 courses) and one Arts minor (or specialisation) (4 courses), and four Arts electives (4 courses). If you’d like to, you can use your Arts electives to extend your Arts minor into a second Arts major.

Enrolment Status

While it’s possible to enrol in fewer courses per semester, which is called studying part-time, it will take you longer to finish your program and get your degree. If you are an international student you must always be full-time.

A course (usually 6 units) can only be counted towards one major or minor.
You need to enrol in courses for both First Semester and Second Semester.
• You can’t study more than four courses (24 units) per semester, eight for the year.
• You need to enrol in courses for at least one potential Arts major
• You need to enrol in courses for at least one potential Arts minor or a second potential Arts major
• You may take 1000-level courses later in your program. But remember you can’t count more than ten 1000-level courses (60 units) towards your single degree or six 1000-level courses (36 units) towards your Bachelor of Arts half of the double degree.

Important things to keep in mind when choosing your 1000-level courses

When you enrol for the first time you will study ‘1000-level’ courses. These courses have‘1’ as the first number in their course code, such as ARTS1234 .

Majors and Minors

There are over one hundred Arts majors, minors and specialisations available for you to study, from Ancient Greek to Visual Arts Practice.

If you aren’t sure what you want to study for your whole degree, that’s fine. You don’t need to commit to majors or minors until after your first year. Using electives can help to keep your options open.

From the list of Bachelor of Arts majors and minors choose the 1000 level courses you need to enrol in.

Because there are so many options available, you will need to take your time choosing what you want to study.

While you only need to enrol in courses for one Arts major and one Arts minor, you can use your electives to enrol in 1000-level courses for other Arts majors or minors. That way you keep your options open. Once you’ve selected courses for an Arts major, and an Arts minor or second Arts major, you should choose electives to make up the balance of your courses.

To find 1000-level courses, use the catalogue finder. Remember you can choose up to 8 courses from another ANU College at the University if you are undertaking the single Bachelor of Arts program.

Peace and Sport #sport #management #programs

I am proud to bring my High Patronage to ‘Peace and Sport, l’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport’ a humanist initiative that through sport, promotes a spirit of civic-mindedness, of dialogue and of acceptance necessary to ease tensions and establish peace in the world.

Confronted by major crises linked to the trauma of armed conflicts, extreme poverty or the deliquescence of social ties, we have a collective obligation, even an urgent duty, to act in order to improve the quality of life of millions of men, women and children whose suffering is a blemish on the advancement of our century.

In this uncertain world, sport and the rules of sport are a source of stability, education and integration for young people in vulnerable situations, thanks to the values of sharing, tolerance, respect and loyalty that it generates.

Since its inception in 2007, through daily action Peace and Sport has demonstrated the utility of a neutral platform capable of uniting and federating a multitude of decision-makers in politics, sport, economic and civil life around this conviction.

By fostering concertation between these actors, Peace and Sport helps to turn sport into an efficient lever to aid the emergence of sustainable peace in areas of the world that most need it, and to offer new horizons to those for whom the future seems obscure.

More than ever, confronted with the enormity of need, Peace and Sport’s action is useful and necessary.

I am convinced that this organisation, driven by a spirit of generosity and solidarity, brings vulnerable communities the possibility to surpass their differences and contribute to shape a more unified, more peaceful world, concerned with preserving the dignity of each and every man and woman.

Founded in 2007, Peace and Sport is the Monaco-based organization under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. Its objective is to bring the structuring values of sport to the heart of communities in crisis throughout the world, making sport a vehicle for tolerance, respect and citizenship at the service of sustainable peace. The backbone of its action is a group of over 80 high-level athletes, called Champions for Peace who dynamically support the organization s activities at all levels.

In November 2011, Joël Bouzou was elected President of the World Olympians Association (WOA), the only international organization which unites all of the 100,000 athletes from 145 countries to have competed in an Olympic event.

Current President of the French Federation of Modern Pentathlon, Vice President and former Secretary General (1997 to 2012) of the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) and a highly accomplished Modern Pentathlete himself, Joël Bouzou has participated in four Olympic Games (Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992) winning a bronze medal during the 1984 Games. He won the World Championship title in Modern Pentathlon in 1987.

In 1991, Joël Bouzou founded the association “Rassemblement par le Sport” (“Together through Sport”) and created the “Champions in the Street” program, which helps the social insertion of young people through sport in city suburbs, using champions as role models.

A French national, Joël has been awarded the Legion of Honour (the highest decoration in France), and the National Order of Merit. He has also been decorated with the French medal ‘Médaille d’Or de la Jeunesse et des Sports’ (‘Gold Medal for Youth and Sports’).

In 2010, Joël was awarded a Diploma Honoris Causa in Humanities from the UN-mandated University for Peace in Costa-Rica in recognition of “his unique worldwide leadership role in promoting peace and mutual understanding among different cultures, and his leadership of organizations devoted to these objectives.

Joël Bouzou is currently Advisor to H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Administrator of the A.S. Monaco Football Club and Member of the IOC Sport and Active Society Commission.

A survey of the nursing workforce in New Jersey titled, The State of the Nursing Workforce in New Jersey: Findings From a Statewide Survey of Registered Nurses*, documents several reasons why there is such a severe shortage of nurses in the state. There are also a number findings that support pursuing higher education, specifically an MSN.

First off, 25% of the nursing workforce in New Jersey responded. Of the respondents only .3% held a graduate degree, 40% held a diploma in nursing, 32% held an ADN and 27% held a BSN. This supports a great job outlook for master’s educated nurses with so few nurses actually in possession of this level of education. Opportunities appear to be quite abundant for the master;s educated nurse from advanced practice to nursing faculty and leadership positions. The survey actually mentions that the RN to MSN program is one way to create a nursing faculty pipeline.

An area of concern was found to be in the nurse manager area, where 57% of the nurse managers in New Jersey reported that their highest level of education was either an ADN or nursing diploma. Based on a study by Kramer, leadership skills are most frequently learned at the master’s degree level. (Kramer, Schmalen Maguire, 2004) This means skills such as conflict resolution and related management skills, that are integral in successfully managing a group of professionals, may be nonexistent for many nurse managers.

The lack of managerial skills and support was found to have a significant impact on nurses in New Jersey, 43% said they did not consider their manager to be a good manager and 42% said that their nurse manager would not back them up. Sounds frustrating. This data further supports the need for master’s educated nurses in leadership positions throughout New Jersey as well as supporting the decision to pursue a master’s through an RN to MSN program in New Jersey.

Programs for Weight Loss and Weight Management That Work #weight #management,

Ultimate Weight Management Programs

Weight Management Overview

The term weight management can encompass a wide range of issues, from eating disorders to overweight and obesity. With eating disorders addressed elsewhere on this site, this section will focus on overweight and obesity among adults.

First, it is important to understand that, as they are used here, the terms overweight and obese are neither subjective nor judgmental terms. From a medical perspective, an adult is considered to be overweight when his or her body mass index (BMI) is between 25 and 29.9. Obesity is defined as a body mass index of 30 or above.

It s hardly a secret that the United States has an obesity problem. In fact, it s not an overstatement to observe that this nation is in the midst of an overweight and obesity epidemic. Consider the following statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • Between 1960 and 1980, the adult obesity rate in the United States was about 15 percent.
  • Between 1980 and 2008, the obesity rate more than doubled (reaching 34 percent).
  • Today, only one state (Colorado, 19.4 percent) has an adult obesity rate below 20 percent.
  • Eight states have obesity rates above 30 percent, with Mississippi (33.8 percent) having the highest adult obesity rate in the United States
  • More than 32 of men in the United States are obese.
  • Among adult women, the obesity rate is 35.5 percent.
  • Approximately 73 million U.S. adults are obese.

The obesity crisis in the United States has had significant impact in terms of both health and finance.

Overweight and obesity have been associated with a wide range of health problems, including (but not limited to), hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, sleep apnea, and certain types of cancers. Experts with Stanford Hospital and Clinics estimate that overweight and obesity are responsible for 300,000 premature deaths every year, and the CDC has identified obesity as the top health risk in the United States.

The Stanford experts also estimate that Americans spend $150 billion annually on obesity-related health issues.

Causes of Overweight and Obesity

At its simplest, weight management problems such as overweight and obesity are a matter of taking in more calories than are expended (or, in other words, eating too much and exercising too little). And in many cases, adults who are overweight or obese have adopted relatedly sedentary lifestyles while eating high-fat diets.

However, given the epidemic levels of overweight and obesity in the United States, the problem isn t always quite as simple as this. Sociologists, doctors, and other experts have put forth a number of theories regarding the dramatic rise in overweight and obesity over the past three decades.

In some cases, overweight or obesity is the result of genetic issues such as abnormal physiology or a hormone problem. Also on the biological front, body metabolism the process by which the body fuels continued growth may be impaired or impacted in a way that makes it difficult for a person to maintain a healthy weight .

Health issues that can lead to overweight and obesity include hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and Cushings Syndrome.

External factors also contribute to overweight and obesity. For example, studies have indicated that individuals who live in impoverished areas may be more prone to becoming overweight or obese.

This connection between poor neighborhoods and overweight or obesity occurs on two fronts:

  • Poorer neighborhoods are less walkable meaning that it is more difficult for individuals in these areas to get regular exercise.
  • Poverty-stricken areas are less likely to be served by larger grocery stores (which have better selection of healthy foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables). Residents who do the majority of their shopping at convenience stores are more likely to purchase high-fat foods and other less healthy items.

Other issues that can lead to overweight and obesity include the taking of certain medications and the presence of depression or an inability to process stress and pressure in a productive manner. Many people use food as a way to elevate their mood or de-stress themselves, a practice which can quickly result in overweight or obesity.

Symptoms of Overweight and Obesity

As indicated elsewhere in this section, overweight and obesity are medical terms that correlate to specific body mass index (BMI) scores. Adults with a BMI of between 25 and 29.9 are classified as overweight, while those whose BMI is 30 or larger are considered to be obese.

Normal weight is defined as a BMI of between 18.5 and 24.9, while a BMI of 18.4 and below is considered underweight. (These classifications are for adults only. Determining whether a child or teen is underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese involves determining where the young person s BMI falls on a percentile chart.

BMI is calculated according to the following formula: (Weight in lbs. x 703) / (height in inches) squared

Using metric measurements, BMI is calculated as follows: Weight in kb / (height in meters) squared

For those who prefer not to perform these calculations themselves, a number of online BMI calculators are available. Most online BMI calculators simply require you to input your height and weight, and the software does the rest.

Thought not necessarily symptoms of being overweight or obese, the following health conditions have been associated with overweight and obesity. As rates of overweight and obesity have risen in the United States, many of the following conditions have also become more common:

  • Type 2 Diabetes (Type 2 Diabetes was formerly known as adult-onset diabetes. The name change is due to the fact that more children are being diagnosed with this condition a development that many attribute to rising rates of childhood obesity)
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Heart disease
  • Certain cancers (including cancers of the breast, colon, uterus, gallbladder and prostate)
  • Respiratory problems (including sleep apnea)
  • Liver and gallbladder disease
  • Gynecological problems
  • Osteoarthritis (a problem affecting joint cartilage and bone)

Treatment For Weight Management

Treatment for overweight and obese individuals will vary depending upon the causes of the weight management problems; the age, gender, and weight of the overweight or obese client; and the presence of any health problems that may have led to or been exacerbated by the overweight or obesity.

For cases where the overweight or obesity is the result of a sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, or a combination of the two, treatment often involves nutrition education and a medically appropriate exercise plan. (Because overweight or obese individuals may be at increased risk for health problems such as heart disease, hypertension, and respiratory problems, it is important that they get the advice and approval of a healthcare professional before beginning an exercise regimen.)

For individuals whose overweight or obesity may have resulted from an emotional condition or mental health disorder (for example, those who suffer from binge eating disorder, or who have fallen into the habit of emotional eating as a way of coping with stress), therapy and counseling may be necessary in order to reprogram the client s food-related attitudes and behaviors.

In cases where counseling or therapy is called for, options may include any or all of the following:

Of course, if the overweight or obese individual has also been struggling with any physical health problems, these issues must be addressed as part of the person s overall health plan.

In some cases, losing weight may diminish a related health problem (for example, hypertension and joint pain may be lessened as one moves toward a healthy weight). In other situations, addressing a related medical condition such as an improperly functioning thyroid gland may lead to significant improvements in weight.

Regardless of the degree to which a person is overweight or obese, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider or weight management expert to ensure that one s efforts to achieve and maintain a healthy weight are done in a safe and sustainable manner.

What – s the Difference Between Accredited – Non-Accredited Degree Programs?

What’s the Difference Between Accredited & Non-Accredited Degree Programs?

Bob’s College of Engineer Knowledge may lure you in with promises of chips and salsa in the study lounge, but will it get you a job at NASA? Probably not. NASA wants people who have graduated from an accredited engineering program because these programs had to prove their worth. Keep reading to learn the difference between accredited and non-accredited degree programs.

What Is Program Accreditation?

To become accredited, a program has to prove that it meets or exceeds the industry standard. For most fields, there are one or several organizations of seasoned professionals who create these quality measurements. For example, if you did want to study engineering, you’d want a program that was accredited by ABET (formerly the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). This board examines not only the program curriculum, but also the quality of learning you’ll receive in your course of study.

Important Facts About Accredited Degree Programs

Associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees available

Varies, depending upon intended institution of enrollment; associate and bachelor degree programs typically require a high school diploma, or equivalent

Types of Accreditation

Regional (traditional universities) and national (usually career and technical schools)

Management analyst, teacher, web developer, art director, engineer, surveyor, database administrator, technical writer, compliance officer

Downfalls of Non-Accredited Programs

Non-accredited programs might not help you meet your advanced education or career goals. Some graduate programs won’t allow you to apply unless you have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited program, so if you choose a non-accredited program for undergraduate studies, you’ll have to start all over. Depending on your career choice and geographic area, you might need to prove that you graduated from an accredited program to apply for a license to work in your profession. The same is true for some certification programs.

How to Find Accredited Programs

You have a couple options when looking for program accreditation. You can find a school that interests you and search their website for accreditation info, but this may require patience. Some schools place all of their accreditation on a general page, while others list them under individual departments.

Another route is to locate the professional organizations that accredit programs you’re interested in and see which schools have programs accredited by them. Many of these organizations also list programs that have applied and are being considered for accreditation, as well as those that have had their accreditation revoked or suspended. If you need to attend an accredited program, make sure the program you’re interested in is accredited, not just the institution – although you may wish to check whether the institution is accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized agency as well.

When Non-accredited Programs Can Help

If you are determined to get your bachelor’s degree in an esoteric field like architectural gingerbread appreciation, you probably won’t find a professional standards organization to accredit a program. Schools generally can’t apply for program accreditation until at least one student has acquired a degree, so if you want to attend a school that’s otherwise reputable and is beginning a new program, you can actually help them with the process. If you already have a career or don’t need the degree for immediate career purposes, a non-accredited program can still be a personal educational experience.

Paralegal Studies #community #colleges #oklahoma, #oklahoma #community #colleges, #oklahoma #colleges, #colleges

Forensic Psychology Masters Programs #forensic #psychology #masters #degree #programs

Master s Degree Programs in Forensic Psychology

Pursuing a career in forensic psychology can be an exciting way to enter the field of forensics for someone who has an undergraduate background in psychology. A forensic psychologist is someone who uses their training in psychology, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, to work within some aspect of the criminal justice system. A forensic psychologist could be a therapist in a prison, an expert witness in court, a criminal profiler, or any combination of those.

While forensic psychologists must have graduate level training, they do not necessarily have to study in a forensic psychology master s or doctorate program. Those that choose to seek a master s degree in forensic psychology should consider the necessary prerequisites for this type of program, the types of courses they might end up taking, and how they would like to pursue this advanced degree.

Prerequisites for a Master s Degree in Forensic Psychology

As with any master s degree program, any student wishing to apply to forensic psychology masters programs must have completed, or be on track to complete, an undergraduate degree. Most programs do not require that degree to be in forensic psychology, or in psychology at all. However, certain courses are usually required, such as Statistics and introductory level courses to psychology and to experimentation. For promising candidates, many schools exercise the option to grant conditional admission for students that have not completed all requisite courses, provided they can complete them within their first semester of the graduate program.

Many selective programs also have a minimum GPA for applicants to their graduate level programs. This helps narrow the applicant field to those who have proven they can function successfully at an institute of higher learning. Most master s degree programs also require applicants take the GRE and may have established minimum scores for admission.

Applicants should always keep in mind the requirements for individual programs can vary greatly and be sure to check with a program before applying.

Featured Programs

Common Courses Electives

Every curriculum is different, but some generalizations can be made about the standard courses required for a master s degree in forensic psychology. Once prerequisites have been met, students can begin to take advanced courses in psychology, including general courses in research, psychopathology, and advanced statistics.

When some basic advanced requirements have been met, students can begin to explore courses that focus on the forensic aspect of the forensic psychology master s degree. While these courses can vary at different schools, they may include such course titles as:

  • Psychology of Criminal Behavior
  • Victimology
  • Mental Health Issues in Policing
  • Terrorism
  • Violence and Aggression
  • Evaluation and Treatment of Juvenile Offenders

This is not an exhaustive list, only a sampling of the kinds of courses found in the course catalogs for forensic psychology master s degree programs.

Many programs may also offer courses that deal with the intersection of forensic psychology and other professions, including law enforcement and social work. It is also important to note that the majority of master s degree programs in forensic psychology do require an externship or practicum which involves students working in the field, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Some schools may offer assistance in obtaining these positions while others may leave the process largely up to the students themselves.

Hybrid Online Programs

Any student who chooses to pursue graduates studies may find him or herself concerned about where they will be able to attend school, particularly if they hope to continue working while furthering their education. Luckily, some forensic psychology master s degree programs do offer the option to study online, in part or in full, which can make attending graduate school that much more convenient. For instance, the Center for Psychological Studies at Nova Southeastern University offers an entirely online master s of science degree in forensic psychology. Argosy University. which focuses on online learning for all their courses of study, also offers an entirely online Master of Arts degree in forensic psychology. Some schools offer programs that are mostly or partially online. For example, the University of North Dakota offers a Master of Arts degree in forensic psychology that includes online lectures and one campus visit. Students in the UND program are eligible for in-state tuition no matter where they reside.

Students should remember that these programs may still require some degree of in-person work, particularly when it comes to practicums that may required for the completion of the degree or for future licensing.

Finding a school that is accredited is essential, particularly for those students who plan to seek licensure in the future.Accreditation means that the forensic psychology master s degree program meets certain requirements in terms of its curriculum, faculty, and facilities. Schools may be accredited as an institute for higher learning, by an organization such as the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Similar commissions exist for different areas of the country. As an example, John Jay College of Criminal Justice has accreditation from the MSCHE.

However, forensic psychology programs themselves can also earn accreditation separately from such professional organizations as the American Psychological Association (APA). In many instances, those students wishing to pursue an internship and eventually licensure may be required to study at an APA-accredited school.

Thanx for the answer. Yes, i remove the shortcut arrow icon. But i do that since i installed windows 7 for the first time about six month ago. and there is no problem with taskbar pin. But now, suddenly the taskbar pin is disappear from my windows 7 taskbar and it can’t to enable/show again.

and also i don’t have the Pin to taskbar option in the context menu

As a test, go ahead and restore the shortcut arrow using the tutorial link above to see if that restores your pin to taskbar option. If it does, then you can use the same tutorial to remove the shortcut arrow.

If you removed the shortcut arrow using one of these all-in-one type tune-up/customize programs, then be sure that you do not still have it set to not have a shortcut arrow.

Moving pinned programs to the right of the taskbar
Hello, Hopefully i’m posting at the right section. But I wanted to know if it is possible to make your pinned programs be at the right of the taskbar. So lets say you open a new program right now it comes to the right of the pinned programs right? Is it possible to move the pinned programs.

Taskbar – Separate Pinned Programs
How to Sort Pinned Programs into Categories on the Taskbar This is similar to how to pin folders to the taskbar, but my own ‘tweaked’ way of doing it with programs Example: Here is my version of the program sorting: Update- You can do this to make Shutdown/Restart buttons as well.

Programs pinned to taskbar, loose their Icon
I have Windows 7 RC installed on two different computers and this has happened on both. I’ll install a program I use a lot, pin it to the taskbar and some of the icons will lose their original icon after awhile. It doesn’t seem to effect the operation of the program or the shortcut to the.

Can’t Switch Programs On Screen Via Programs Pinned to Taskbar
An example: I open Firefox full-screen. If I try to switch to Outlook, which is open and showing in the taskbar, it wont let me. I am forced to minimize Firefox Same thing happens when Outlook is full screen.

Odd problem with pinned programs on taskbar
I seem to be having a problem with the pinned programs on my taskbar and I was wondering if anybody can help me here. Most of the programs on my taskbar simply highlight the icon that I clicked when I want to start the program or start a new instance of the program. However, a select few programs.

Problem with right click on programs pinned to taskbar.
Hello. I hope I’m in the good section for my post. When I right click on Windows Media Player on the taskbar, the recent files and task lists appears, but don’t work. when I click on a file or a task, nothing happen :(. However, it worked at the beginning (just after Windows installation).

    MSW Programs Online #masters #in #social #work, #msw #programs, #msw #degree,

A Master’s in Social Work (MSW) is one of the best degrees you can have for helping others and getting paid to do so.

    Why complete an MSW program?

The BLS reports that MSW programs may be particularly helpful when it comes to obtaining advanced job opportunities or working in some areas such as in schools or health care, and it s required to become a licensed clinical social worker. MSW degrees generally take two years to complete, depending on class scheduling and student aptitude, and require the completion of on-the-job experience through internships or field education before graduation (, 2012 ). Whether working with disabled veterans in a group home, or foster children in need of unique services, students who gain this supervised experience should slowly build their understanding of how to best accomplish their professional social work goals.

    MSW programs: What to expect?

General coursework in MSW programs might include research and practice, psychopathology, ethical foundations, child welfare and more. Some degree programs may offer concentrations such as child and family services, health services, and management and planning.

Upon completing their MSW, students can choose to pursue their Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification. Typically, the LCSW requires two years or 3,000 hours of supervised clinical hours beyond those already completed through an MSW program (, 2012 ). Other LCSW requirements could include passing a state-administered exam or one offered by the Association of Social Work Boards. and possibly having prior Licensed Social Worker (LSW) certification.

National career and salary outlook for social workers

The BLS projects employment for social workers could grow by up to 25 percent nationally between 2010 and 2020, which is better than the national average growth for all occupations (14 percent). Demand is predicted to be even higher in two social work fields: health care as well as mental health and substance abuse. According to the BLS. the national median salary in 2011 for child, family and school social workers was $40,680, with the top ten percent earning up to $70,050 in 2011 and the lowest 10 percent earning up to $26,190 nationally in 2011.

Those interested in learning more about the field, including new legislation, resources, and professional development, can look for further information through the American Clinical Social Work Association. the Association of Social Work Boards and the National Association of Social Workers. Detailed salary and employment data can be found through the BLS Occupational Employment Statistics program.

    Online Doctorate Degree Programs #online #doctorate #degree #programs,online #doctorate #degree,online #doctoral

    Online Doctorate Programs

    CalSouthern’s Online Doctoral Degree Programs

    CalSouthern’s Online Doctoral Degree Programs

You’ll find exceptional online doctorate programs in CalSouthern’s Schools of Business, Law and Psychology. Each offers an applied doctoral degree or a professional doctorate. Unlike academic doctorates (e.g. the PhD), applied or professional doctorates are less oriented toward research and scholarly publication, and more devoted to the advanced, practical application of theory in a professional setting.

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is an excellent option for business leaders looking to develop knowledge of the highest order in a particular business discipline, and to set themselves apart from other executives in a highly competitive workplace. It’s an extremely personalized and focused program. In fact, up to 25 percent of the program can be devoted to a doctoral project of your own selection and corresponding to your particular business interests and areas of expertise—it’s a great way to distinguish yourself as a leading expert in a specific area of interest.

The Juris Doctor (JD) is designed to provide students with the educational foundation and professional training to succeed as a practicing attorney in the state of California. In fact, once you earn your JD degree, you can be eligible to sit for the California Bar Exam. The California Southern University School of Law is registered as an unaccredited correspondence law school with the Committee of Bar Examiners (CBE) of the State Bar of California. This allows graduates of the JD program who have complied with Title 4, Division 1 of the Rules of the State Bar of California (Admissions Rules) to sit for the California Bar Exam.

The CBE requires CalSouthern to refer all current and prospective JD students, as well as applicants, to and current students to required disclosures. Please click here to review the disclosures.

The Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is the online doctoral degree program in CalSouthern’s School of Behavioral Sciences. Unlike the research-intensive PhD, the PsyD is far more clinically focused. Emphasizing counseling and therapy, the PsyD can prepare learners for virtually any position in any organizational hierarchy within the field of psychology. It can also lead to a career in academics, particularly if the program is clinically focused.

For those looking to practice as a licensed clinical psychologist, CalSouthern’s PsyD meets the educational requirements for licensure in the state of California and numerous other states. (Since states’ policies are subject to change and/or dependent upon the circumstances of each case, each student must confirm with the appropriate regulatory body that CalSouthern’s degree will be accepted in a particular state. For additional information about the PsyD and state licensure, click here .)

Regardless of your area of interest—be it business, law or psychology—CalSouthern offers an online doctoral degree program that is truly exceptional. It’s CalSouthern’s collegial and responsive community of personalized support that distinguishes the university from its peers. It’s the CalSouthern difference and it’ll be apparent from the moment you speak with any of our dedicated education professionals. We urge you to experience it for yourself.

    Evening Nursing Programs Overview #lpn #night #classes, #evening #nursing #programs

    Evening Nursing Programs Overview

    Essential Information

Evening nursing programs provide similar coursework to full-time day programs, but take longer to complete because class times are shorter. Associate’s degree programs feature clinical experiences and coursework that prepare students to pursue registered nurse (RN) licensure and work as RNs. Although these programs require a high schol diploma or its equivalent, they don’t require previous health care work experience, and students learn to help doctors diagnose and treat illnesses, take patients’ vital signs and offer health care advice.

Professionals who already work as RNs can enroll in an evening RN-BSN program to earn a bachelor’s degree. In addition to possessing knowledge of nursing theories and practices, incoming students need strong skills in math, communication and the physical sciences. These programs cover advanced nursing topics, including pathophysiology, health assessment and nursing management. Students participate in hands-on simulations and may pursue advanced nursing positions upon graduation. Working RNs may also pursue an RN-MSN degree, or master’s degree, which usually includes advanced health care and business coursework. This kind of evening program is designed for RNs who want to become managers or nurse practitioners. It is generally required that MSN applicants have long-term work experience as an RN and must submit letters of recommendation, copies of their college transcripts and scores from the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE).Clinical experience is a requirement for all levels of this qualification.

    Associate’s Degree in Nursing

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and Associate Degree in Nursing programs that are offered in the evening allow students to attend classroom lectures and gain clinical experience outside of regular working hours. Students in evening ASN or ADN programs learn about the practical skills and theoretical foundations of nursing, including medical diagnoses, patient care and vital sign measurement. They must also receive licensure before they can begin working in a medical setting.

The classes in evening ASN or ADN programs emphasize topics in the natural sciences, social sciences and medicine. Students learn to measure patients’ pulse and blood pressure, assist doctors in diagnosis and treatment, give patients wellness information and assess general health. The topics below are usually covered:

    • Human anatomy and physiology
    • Pharmacology
    • Nursing ethics
    • Community health education
    • Pediatric care

    Evening RN-to-BSN Degree

RN-to-BSN programs are designed for registered nurses who want to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Those who complete an RN-to-BSN program can earn their BSN in a shorter time frame than those who earn a BSN without any previous experience. Many programs offer classes in the evening and on weekends to accommodate students’ work schedules. RN-to-BSN programs cover advanced topics in nursing, as well general educational subjects. Students usually complete in-depth, hands-on simulations.

Classes in RN-to-BSN programs cover the critical thinking and analytical skills used in patient care. The topics listed below are usually discussed:

    • Pathophysiology
    • Nursing management
    • Health assessment
    • Health maintenance

    • Politics in health care
    • Health care policy
