Smile Design Dentistry of Tampa Palms – General Dentistry – 16021

#

16021 Tampa Palms Blvd W
Tampa. FL 33647
(813) 517-1446

In the Tampa Florida area this Dental Group is the place to go. All of the doctors in this group are great but if i had to choose one it would be Dr Gary Nanavati. You can get more info than i can list here from their website thesmiledesign.com. They are my latest addition to my list of Great Dentists in the US Dr Gary Nanavati is all about continuing education and the latest techniques. The last time I saw him was when some of my staff and I was doing a 3 part course in the Clearwater area. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr Patel and Dr Buckley. Rest assured your mouth will be in good hands with the doctors of Tampa Palms Dental.

Best dentistry office I have ever been to. I have a history of gum issues, but my hygienist, Stephanie, has helped me get them into shape. She recommended all the right products I needed, but never pushed anything on me that I didn t really need. The result, after a few visits, is that my gums are in better shape than ever! Today she said, Your gums look great! I never thought I d hear that in my lifetime. Stephanie is courteous, professional, friendly, and really good at what she does. Thank you, Stephanie, and thank you Smile Dentist Design for a consistently positive experience at the dentist.

Only went because they were having a summer special. I am not sure what their usual pricing is. It is located in the publix plaza so it is in a really nice location. The dentist that came in to see me had an amazing personality, actually seemed like he wanted to be there and that he enjoyed his job. I would come here again.

I made an appt with Dr. Bucklley, New Tampa Palms office I was impressed with the receptionist and the overall look of the office. thought great I have found an office I liked that is approved by my insurance. BIG MISTAKE. upon completing the paperwork mixed in with the HIPA forms was a document that states Patient consent to use credit, debit card disclosure the form required initial by each statement and sign (patient will not challenge any charges made by Smile Design Dentistry to my bank debit or credit card. I explained I am not comfortable signing a form that takes my rights away and give you card blanch to my bank/credit account so I asked if I was reading this correctly and the office manager stated that is correct you are giving up you right to dispute any changes made by the office. I ripped up the paper work (except for the one page document discussed above) and stated I hope all their patients read what they sign. I would only authorize charges on an aggreed upon dental plan of treatment. The office manager said then we won t treat you without cash and I was free to leave. I hope the doctors review just what they are requesting of their patients.

Aloha Bail Bonds – Bail Bondsmen – 320 W Cedar St,

#

320 W Cedar St
San Diego. CA 92101
United States
+1-619-235-9999

I was involved in an unfortunate situation where I had to find a bailsbond while I was in jail. I called Aloha bailsbond because the name reminding me of Hawaii (I know, it s lame, but when hundreds of options are presented, you go off of instinct). She picked up the phone immediately and totally trusted that I would pay her when I got out. She posted bail for me without a dime and on a promise. I was out as soon as they allowed us. Very responsive and professional and would highly recommend. While her office location is not one to be desired, Aloha was very professional and handled my situation delicately. Highly recommend her service.

Don t know what the below person is talking about. It seems as though he has a personal problem with the owner, and says nothing about the service provided. I had a great experience with Aloha. They were very nice and knowledgeable. Got my brother out of jail fast and worked with me on payments.

Madison General Liability Insurance – Business Insurance Quotes in Madison #

#

General Liability Insurance

Madison General Liability Insurance

Madison general liability insurance is available for your business whether you are just starting up the venture in Wisconsin or have owned the WI company for years. If you are a longtime owner in Madison, you may have not considered searching for new Madison general liability insurance after registering for your first policy.

However, periodically requesting quotes for new rates is important to ensure you are still receiving a plan from a top liability coverage provider in Wisconsin and also that you are paying reasonable amounts for the policy that you purchased. Therefore, the following are a few tips if you are considering searching for a replacement of the current general commercial liability insurance plan that you own.

Tips for Meeting Coverage Needs

As the owner of a long standing business in Madison, your company has likely experienced a fair amount of success during the time that you have owned it. As such, you want to do everything possible to preserve that success during the time that you own the venture. One of the best ways to safeguard against unknown dangers that could wipe out the company’s financial stability is to ensure that you have sufficient Madison general liability insurance. Some owners have a policy in place but don’t realize that the plan that they own would be insufficient if they were ever involved with a major liability claim.

Therefore, regardless of if you own a restaurant or another type of venture, it is important to reassess whether or not you have sufficient Wisconsin general liability protection. This process can include researching such factors as the value of the company that you own as well as what hazards exist within the facility. Understanding the hazard level of the company is particularly important because this can largely determine how likely an accident is to occur.

If you already have a policy in place that you purchased when first taking over the business, it is very likely that you can now receive a better premium rate from newer top providers of Madison general liability insurance providers. As such, even if you are satisfied with the current provider, it may be in your best interest to shop around for new rates just to gauge what other policy options are now available.

Regardless of which Madison general liability insurance plan you choose to purchase, it is important to always maintain the proper amount of coverage to avoid the stresses that are associated with having insufficient insurance. One of the major causes of stress among owners is dealing with the financial hardships that come along with liability claims when they didn’t have enough general insurance in place. Being the owner of a venture is stressful enough when dealing with day to day issues, you shouldn’t be burdened with unnecessary financial hardships due to insufficient protection. Hopefully by having a quality general Madison liability plan in place, the venture will remain successful during the time that you own it so you can sell it to take an early retirement or to pursue other businesses in Madison.

Finding Quality Options

When you are ready to begin searching for new rates on Madison general liability insurance plans, the best first step to take is requesting quotes online. The internet is the best outlet to use for requesting offers because it is fast and gives you access to many top providers in Wisconsin. Having access to this variety of providers is important because it gives you more power to find the lowest rates that are currently available.

After you receive several offers for general insurance for liability, you are ready to move into the insurance comparison phase. Taking the time to compare the rates that you receive is important because this will help guarantee that you choose the offer which is truly best for your Madison small business needs. One of the first things you will likely want to do when comparing Madison general liability insurance offers is evaluate the overall premium amounts. Since you are likely working on a limited Madison WI company budget, you want to ensure that a plan is chosen with a premium which you can afford to pay.

When comparing the plans, you may even want to research the customer reputation of each Madison general liability insurance provider that extended you quotes. Knowing the general customer reputations is important because this will show you how well each provider treats their customers. Hopefully by comparing these factors, you will easily be able to find the best general plan to meet your company’s needs. Additionally, it can be beneficial to periodically check if any new rates have emerged in the future by returning online. You never know when you could find a better offer for Madison general liability insurance so it’s in your best interest to periodically compare the insurance market.

Pathways Real Life Recovery – 31 Photos – Counseling & Mental

#

8706 South 700 E
Ste 205
Sandy. UT 84070
(801) 895-3006

I found these folks after an exhausting internet and personal search. I will say hands down this is the best run facility in SLC. Unlike other support groups that you sit around in a circle and hash out your war stories for 3 hours ( which is helpful to no one) this facility treats the whole person. with on-site doctors, behavioral specialists, psychologists, and an easy flexible schedule for folks who have to work and have a family. Other places are so regimented it s almost impossible to have a full-time job and get help. not here. The staff is so caring and the owner is one of a kind gem, Michelle really cares about us all. I have never felt more supported and loved 🙂 thank you Pathways.

As a therapist I have sent a number of clients to Pathways they have one of the best programs in Utah. They have a lot of flexibility with insurance which is a huge blessing.

Camp 18 Restaurant in Elsie, Oregon 97138 – Coastal Dining –

#

The Camp 18 dining room, with its log cabin ambiance and civilized rustic décor, offers a variety of seating options from small tables for two on up to a large dining table for a small crowd.

Leave a bit of extra room – or a lot – for one of the famous Camp 18 cinnamon rolls. They make a sinfully delicious side trip to breakfast or any other meal, and when fresh from the oven, they’re almost irresistible.

An all new 2016 restaurant menu is online – please check it out here!

Click here to see more holiday pictures!

Welcome to the home page for the Camp 18 Restaurant, located in Elsie, Oregon. Camp 18 could easily be your most popular stop on your way to and from the Oregon Coast via State Highway 26 between Portland and Seaside / Cannon Beach. Camp 18 is the result of enormous efforts by Gordon Smith and the late Maurie Clark, both near-legendary figures in the northwest logging scene.

Camp 18 is a log cabin-type structure built by Gordon Smith and friends. Its architecture is authentic in materials and construction techniques and features, for example, an 85-foot ridgepole that’s the largest such piece in the United States and weighs approximately 25 tons. There’s plenty of RV-size parking in the lot.

Although it lacks a few small details, the almost-fully-rigged 161-foot spar tree is a signature piece on the Camp 18 equipment roster.

Expect to see lots of cool wood carvings throughout the Camp 18 facilities. The eye-catching marvel is a definite place to stop while driving Highway 26 in the Pacific Northwest. If you are visiting local communities like Seaside, Astoria, Cannon Beach, Nehalem, Wheeler or Portland, it’s a short and beautiful drive to Elsie!

The stunning main building and its eye-catching array of logging-related historic artifacts and artwork are hard to miss as you travel the Sunset Highway (26). It’s always worth your time to stop by, enjoy a good meal, browse the displays and learn more about our northwest logging heritage.

The Camp 18 log-cabin style restaurant has an interesting history you can read about. A beautiful Event Conference room is also available for rental!

If it’s a good meal you crave you can’t beat the food menu at Camp 18. To see a sample of the expansive offerings, click here .
From a hearty breakfast to lunch favorites to dinner entrees that satisfy any appetite, the “logger style meals” are tasty and wholesome.

We hope you enjoy your visit!

Diligent Pest Control – Pest Control – 3500 NW Boca Raton

#

3500 NW Boca Raton Blvd
Ste 714
Boca Raton. FL 33431
(866) 773-8732

Part of how I put myself through college was with a part time pest control job, so I know a little more than your average homeowner. I was using another company that was average before using Diligent and the technician was friendly enough, but when I met the owner and he explained how they approach the process with environmentally friendly materials and an outside only treatment I wanted to give them a chance. I can tell you that my experience is much better with Diligent. Not only have they practically eliminated any signs of bugs in my home, they have not had to apply any treatments inside my home. We have seen a steady improvement as time has gone by as well. The owner is responsive and knowledgeable and his technicians are friendly and do their job well. While no company or person is perfect, Diligent has come as close as I can hope for in a Pest Control company and I would sincerely recommend trying Diligent for your Pest Control needs.

No more bugs thanks to quality and efficient service. If you want your home pest free make sure to contact them.

Hired company to treat back and side yard lawn, trees and plants that were healthy and bushy. Three months later, everything is dead! They came back out and said weed killer must have been applied but said they didnt do it (they were the ONLY company treating the property) Took 7 years to create tropical, lush backyard and only 3 months for Diligent to kill it! Company has no interest in taking any blame or offering me any assistance

Business Owner

We have responded immediately to every phone call or email you have sent to us. We do not run… Philip,

We have responded immediately to every phone call or email you have sent to us. We do not run the other way when there are issues at hand. However; in good conscience I can take responsibility for something we did not do. We understand good practices and being a small business we appreciate all of our customers, we truly do.

I do understand your frustration and it is not my intent to sound immune to your issue. I provided you the active ingredients for the product we used to give you a better understanding.

You hired us on 11/1/12 ask asked if we could provide better results than you were currently experiencing with another company. We performed one spray treatment and then a follow-up visit weeks later.

It was a spray-only application using an Imidacloprid. In February, you contacted us about some growing concerns and provided images. Based on the images I advised you I could not determine but it looked as if somebody misapplied a weed killer or overferitlized. Both products were never used by us for your treatment. If so, it would have been coded differently on your account and your costs would have been significantly more.

All of our technicians are certified and trained by the Universairty of Florida. We take pride in our service and providing the best training practices for all of our technicians.

Philip, I want to help you and it would be wonderful to make an unhappy customer happy again; however, I cannot just tell you we did something we did not do for the sake of that. You hired us to replace a company and we performed one service that included an initial treatment and a follow-up.

We haven t been doing your property for years or even 6 months. We did not monitor your property or conduct multiple treatments. It would be very difficult to pinpoint the exact issue, but like I said in our previous conversation it looks as if fertilizer was misused and/or weed killer. It could have been another company, could have been an honest mistake by the homeowner. I just know it wasn t us and not because you have an issue 5 months later after one treatment, but because we would have set up your account and your charges would have been exponentially more had we used said products such as fertilizer or a weed killer on your property. Richard’s Locksmith – Safes – 11 Reviews – Keys & Locksmiths

#

I needed my locks changed quickly yesterday at my business. They came out shortly after I called and were very friendly and worked fast. Would definitely use them again!

I have actually never given a bad review. Until now. I have a 1910 Victor Safe. I live right down the street from Richards Locksmith and SAFE so I thought they would be a good option. Boy was I wrong! I stopped in first to get a price and tell them about the safe. I was told a service call was $60,00 and if they couldn t get it to open I would be charged extra to drill it open if I chose that option. When the technician came he told me he had never heard of this kind of safe. umm ok. He could not get it open using the combination. He told me it was $85.00 an HOUR to drill it open and he could not me how long that would take. I told him thanks but no thanks and I would pay him $60.00 for the service call. He told me plus tax. I said fine. He goes out to the truck and brings back a bill of $108.00, you know for the labor. What? I called the owner (Jack)and was told that was correct and he couldn t understand why I was upset. Really? The technician was here a total of 25 minutes and didn t open the safe and charged $108.00. I have lived in Coral Springs for 20 years and this is the worst experience I have ever had with a business here. I feel totally ripped off and taken advantage of, Beware.

Good work but way overpriced. If we knew how much they would charge, we would have called another company. I recommend you get a firm quote before any job to ensure you aren t overcharged and shop around.

They were very prompt and professional in answering my phone call and inquiries. Initially we only needed the lock fixed on our main entrance but then upon inspecting the new house further, realized that we needed a couple of other things done too. We also needed the lock on our shed door fixed and on our fence too. The technician was on time and only took about a half hour for everything. They also made new keys for us and made one key to match both the front entrance and the shed door. The price was reasonable too. I d highly recommend them to friends and family.

They over charge for everything. it s ridiculous. Every other store I called charged $25 less for the key I needed. I prefer to drive a little more that get ripped off by this people. they take advantage that are the only ones in coral springs to charge whatever they want.

We were able to get copies of our car key at richards locksmith when lowes wasn t able to do it. We are sticking with richards locksmith for all our lock and key needs. They have been in that same location forever.

I called them to come change the locks on my house and they came within an hour and changed all of them in less than 30 minutes! I was very impressed with the service, and professionalism.

their copies of keys actually work. which doesn t sound like a big deal except that most other places can t seem to manage it. they also come to your house and re-key locks when necessary, and do so in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. bottom line: they do what they re supposed to do, it works, and their prices are competitive.

I have an old safe, I don t know anything about safes. Aside from they are heavy! I called a few other locksmiths and was told, it s old, it s not worth the repair and to get a new one. I wanted to be sure. So I took it to Richards. Was told if the keypad needed to be replaced it could cost up to $200.00 They fixed it in a day, and only charged me $15.00. I was stunned. I couldn t believe it! I went in to pick it up and it was $15.00. They also printed me the manual for the safe. Could not be happier, they are honest and experts in their field. It s nice to do business with actual professionals. Thank you very much. See you soon!

The have prompt courteous service people. Make any kind of exotic car key too!

These guys are professionals and honest. Did a great job restoring the ignition cylinder on my car, otherwise I would have to spend a lot more money in the dealer. Also they have a wide selection of locks, safes, keys. Nice and friendly service.

Troy University – Colleges & Universities – 600 University Ave, Troy,

#

600 University Ave
Troy. AL 36079
(334) 670-0848

TROY is a great university which combines the best elements of being a worldwide university catering to the armed forces with over 37 overseas campuses with the intimate experience of attending a small rural college with an absolutely gorgeous and highly maintained campus. Troy University cares about its students, and provides one of the best college educations in the state, if not the Southeast. A degree from TROY becomes more valuable all the time as this school s excellent reputation spreads as a result of the good work of its students and the dedication of its faculty and promoters. Of course, no review of Troy University would be complete without at least a passing mention of the always exciting Troy Trojans football team. Troy s football team consistently takes on highly-ranked schools and often gives them a run for their money, sometimes even surprising their opponents and bringing home the big win. The Trojans are perennial Sun Belt Conference champions, and no autumn trip to Troy is complete without taking in the fun, accessible atmosphere of a Troy Trojans football game.

Our son has completed two years at Troy University. We are all very happy with the school. It s a small town and a quiet campus. The casual style is a good fit for our son.

Troy University is a thoroughly frustrating experience. If you re looking for a graduate program taught by clueless professors, or taught at a high school level, this is the school for you. Troy likes to sink money into shiny new buildings at the expense of their core mission – education. I have never seen a library filled with so many old books. Their collection is in dire need of updating. The administration is difficult to deal with. Everyone you talk to will give you a different answer to your question. But perhaps most impressive, the people in the office right next to the bursar s office couldn t tell me where I needed to go to pay my tuition. No, the words TROJAN CENTER did not tell me they collected money in there. Troy University exists to take students money so Dr Hawkins can pay for his place at En Soleil in Panama City Beach. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Troy University is the worst school I have ever dealt with. Their staff is completely unprofessional and they can t deal with any situation requested correctly. They lag on everything I ve requested of them. I got yelled at by my advisor the first day I went there, they didn t send me the requested documents to apply for student aid so I got charged $1,500 out of pocket for my term, and when I requested and paid for my official transcripts, I was sent unofficial even though they were paid for. The staff is completely incompetent and I recommend if anyone is considering this school. look elsewhere! Coming from Axia College and going to Kaplan University; I would rather spend a little extra on the service and professionalism you receive.

troy university is a stuck up school. they are over rated and they treat students as if they owe them. They are slow to respond to things, they dont have enough parking, they dont believe in giving students a second chance if a mistake did occur. They are rude and unprofessional. They are all about the money. the professors are not teaching the students the students are teaching themselves. Run for the hills. I would try another university before I would Troy.

First Savings Bank Northwest – Banks & Credit Unions – 201

#

Best bank hands down. They are so helpful and professional. No standing in lines at the teller window – you sit with the bankers as they work with your transactions. Banking the way it should be done.

I think that FSBNW is great! The staff are very nice-always smiling faces-and more importantly, always willing to help. I ve had accounts for about a year and I have nothing to complain about. I definitely get the feeling of FSBNW being a community bank, and they do a lot of things to help support the Renton area. Recently they put one of those nifty ATMs that take deposits without envelopes. The building exudes professionalism and the staff definitely shows it as well.

Bucks County Community College – Colleges & Universities – 1 Hillendale

#

1 Hillendale Rd
Perkasie. PA 18944
(215) 453-3020

Everyone hates on going to community college coming out of high school, but honestly going to Bucks was one of the smartest choices I ve ever made. Here s why: AFFORDABLE – I paid off each semester easily. If you live in the county, a year of college at Bucks is only going to cost you more or less 4,000 dollars. SAME PREREQS- As long as you do the research to make sure every class you take is transferable, taking your prerequisites here is the same as taking your prerequisites elsewhere. The only difference is about 10-12,000 dollars. Saving that much moolah sounds pretty damn good to me. STUDENT TO TEACHER RATIO – The student to teacher ratio is pretty small. It usually looks something like 19:1, though I m not exactly sure what the ratio truly is. Individualized attention is not hard to come across. The classes are not insanely large, especially at the Perkasie campus. GREAT PROFESSORS – I ve had some of the most awesome and involved professors at Bucks. Randolph Quinby was my favorite. he teaches Humanities courses. Take one of his classes; you won t be disappointed. CLASSES FOR FULL TIME WORKERS – There are tons of options for night classes, online classes, and hybrid classes (half online, half in school) that are designed specifically for hard working people with a busy schedule. Of these three options, I prefer night classes. They are from 6 to 9:30 at night with a break at around 7:30/8. The professors understand a busy schedule and, as long as you put genuine effort into the class, they will understand if something comes up (late night shift at work; kids sick; etc). CUTE CAMPUS – Yes, the Perkasie campus is wimpy wimpy wimpy. But it s just so. CUTE. The two buildings are located in a Giant shopping plaza. And I don t mean giant as in the size; I mean it s literally located right next to the supermarket Giant. I like it though; big campuses always intimidated me. There s a cafe called Down to Earth Cafe in the plaza where a lot of students will go before or after class. TRANSFER AGREEMENT PROGRAMS – Many of Pennsylvania s state schools have a transfer agreement program with Bucks. I know from personal experience that Penn State Abington will grant you a 1000 dollar scholarship if you graduate with your associates from Bucks and transfer to their campus. There are a ton more options too. ADVISORS – Let s be honest: advisors want you in and out of the program just as much as you want to be in and out of the program. The advisors will do their job to get you into the classes you need and help you graduate as soon as possible, and advising slots are always open. So I obviously have a slight obsession with this school, but it s only because I m sick of hearing everyone bash it! Bucks County is an amazing area in the state to live in, and the community school is a good one! (And much better than Montco, I ve heard ;]). Definitely don t rule out a community college for the sole reason that it is a community college. It s a great choice in the long run and I promise you won t regret going here. ) Cheers to Bucks Perkasie. WARNING: The fact that Bucks is a community college does not take away from the difficulty of its astronomy class. IT S A TRAP! It s not all about pretty stars. it s actually really difficult, and the professor was hardcore. There were 11 people in my astronomy class initially, and we ended up with 4 left. I was one of the last ones standing, but I barely passed with a C. There was another girl who was a straight-A senior at Kutztown University who had been putting off her science credit. She took the same class I did and she barely made it out alive as well. Don t underestimate a community college s courses.

London Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Travel Guide

Restaurateur Gordon Ramsay is one of London’s most honored chefs. (Photo: Thinkstock Images/Stockbyte/Getty Images )

Chef Gordon Ramsay’s empire has had one success after another with a dozen restaurants in London alone. Ramsay was noticed as head chef at Aubergine off the King’s Road in Chelsea, acquiring two Michelin stars by 1997. The first restaurant bearing the Gordon Ramsay name opened nearby in 1998 along the River Thames in Chelsea at the site of a local favorite, formerly La Tante Claire, where Ramsey had worked previously. By 2001, he was making history on the culinary map as the first Scottish chef to win three Michelin stars, and five years later, he was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II. A dozen openings, including the Savoy Hotel, and some closings, notably Claridge’s in June 2013, have been the story of the TV cooking celebrity’s stamp on London.

Stars in the Royal Borough

The Gordon Ramsay group’s flagship restaurant is in the heart of fashionable Chelsea in the Royal Borough, where the average price of a home tops $3 million and Harrod’s is the neighborhood food market. Of Michelin’s four current three-starred restaurants in the United Kingdom, two are in London, and one is Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Chef Patron Clare Smyth MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire), a star chef in her own right, heads up a kitchen team of 15 men at 68-69 Royal Hospital Road. Serving contemporary French cuisine, the 45-seat space was redesigned in 2013, and typically a reservation needs to be made about three months in advance.

Where More Stars Are

Four additional London restaurants within the Gordon Ramsay Group hold one-star Michelin ratings. The Savoy Grill is a venerable dining spot that has attracted celebrities since 1889. Tables overlook the River Thames in this restaurant inside one of the city’s most famous hotels in the heart of the theater district. Gordon Ramsay is the brand behind the restaurant, which was re-launched in 2010 after a three-year renovation. At Petrus on Belgravia’s posh Kinnerton Street in Knightsbridge, modern French is named after Ramsey’s favorite French wine, which is available beginning at thousands, not hundreds, of dollars per bottle. Ramsay’s Maze Restaurant and Maze Grill, which face the American Embassy in Mayfair’s fancy Grosvenor Square, are also starred. Both bill themselves as casual and are inside the London Marriott. One features modern French with Asian influences, and the other is a steakhouse grill.

Some Spots South of the River

Union Street Cafe opened in September 2013 south of the River Thames near Waterloo Station, not far from Tate Modern and Borough Market. Rumors buzzed that Ramsay pal David Beckham was to be co-investor in the cool urban warehouse space that served up Italian Mediterranean dishes and jazz on Thursday nights. More than 10,000 pre-opening reservations were taken, according to company news releases. However, according to media reports, the friendship stuck but the partnership did not. The restaurant critic reviews were mixed. The Narrow, a gastropub that opened in 2006, carries an appropriate name for its location on a skinny street over a canal bridge at Limehouse Basin between Wapping and the Docklands. The Narrow is handy for Canary Wharf skyscraper folks who work and play at all hours in this part of town and has a terrace for the occasional bright and sunny days in London.

Top 10 destinations

What not to miss

Explore Bangkok’s temples by day and nightlife when the sun drops. Go hilltribe trekking in the mountainous north. Bask on one of the many islands in the south. Introduce your tastebuds to chilli and your limbs to Thai massage.

When to visit

The most popular time to go is between November and February. There is little rain and it isn’t too hot. The southern islands are affected by different monsoon cycles, so be sure to check the weather before picking a coast. The hottest period is April to May.

Trivia

Around 12% of Thais have Chinese heritage, but the Sino-Thai community is the best integrated in the region.

People say Thailand simply offers it all to travellers in a neat, great-value package — whether you’re an independent budget backpacker wanting to explore off the beaten track, or a well-heeled tourist looking for an exclusive slice of paradise.

Rough it while trekking through mist-shrouded mountains; be astounded by teeming aquatic life as you plunge into turquoise waters; or savour a romantic pool villa for a perfect luxury honeymoon — you can do it all in the Land of Smiles.

Thailand has been on the international backpacker beat for decades now, and while backpackers are making the most of ever-increasing budget flights to Thailand, these days luxury travellers bolster the numbers too.

From the food and spas, to the temples and culture, Thailand is a land steeped in fascinating Buddhist history, catapulted into the present through fast-paced economic growth that kicked off in the 1960s.

It’s true that more than 20 million tourists arrive here annually now, following the well-worn path of those before them. But there’s a reason the crowds keep on coming.

The capital Bangkok offers glittering temples on the majestic Chao Phraya River, with shopping for both bargains and top-range designer items luring the masses as well.

It also plays home to the backpacking mecca of Khao San Road — the epicentre of Southeast Asia’s backpacking universe.

Get to know an elephant or hike to see ethnic minorities in cool, mountainous Chiang Mai. then take a flight down south to sip cocktails and sunbathe on the palm-fringed southern islands of Phuket or Ko Samui.

Alternatively, let loose at a pulsing Full Moon Party on Ko Pha Ngan. or enjoy a spot of world-class diving off Ko Tao. History buffs will revel in Thailand’s ancient capitals of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai. and enjoy exploring somewhat more obscure Khmer ruins dotted around the kingdom’s north and northeast.

Popular side trips from Bangkok include Ko Samet. just a few hours away by road and boat, while Kanchanaburi is home to the famed Bridge Over the River Kwai, popular waterfalls and the controversial Tiger Temple. Families are heading to quiet Ko Lanta in greater numbers too, while Krabi remains a favourite for island hoppers.

Cambodia travel guide – hotel, guesthouse and restaurant reviews, entertainment, attractions

Top 10 destinations

What not to miss

Survey the World Heritage listed ruins of Angkor Wat. Take a sunset cruise off Phnom Penh. Visit the remnants of the Khmer Rouge regime. Eat fresh crab at coastal Kep. Trek through the jungle in remote Rattanakiri.

When to visit

The most popular time to go is between November and February. There is little rain and it isn’t too hot. The wet season runs from May to October and isn’t the best time for a Cambodian beach holiday. The wet does keep the crowds at bay and Angkor is wonderful in the wet season, so it isn’t all bad. April is scorchingly hot.

Trivia

Cambodian pop music features prominently in the music of Dengue Fever, a six-member band from the United States, who combine it with psychedelic rock.

Jump to a destination

For decades off limits to all but the most intrepid travellers, today Southeast Asia’s Cambodia is a popular destination for all kinds of folks: from independent backpackers who roam far into the hinterland to luxury tourists who stay in style and see Cambodia’s main drawcards between massages and exquisite French meals.

The ancient temple complex of Angkor Wat is Cambodia’s national treasure. The nearby city of Siem Reap has developed dramatically since the days when Angelina Jolie filmed Tomb Raider here and fell in love with the nation.

While some lament the discovery of Angkor by the masses, the site is still breathtaking and Siem Reap offers all of the comforts one could wish for on any budget. Those with more than a day or two to spend in the Angkor area will find a host of more obscure ancient temples and monuments which can be fascinating in their own right.

Many do simply holiday at Angkor and travel no further, but Cambodia has a lot more to showcase. Consider as well a break on the lazy white-sand beaches of Sihanoukville. a stay at a stylish resort in resurging coastal Kep. or a tour to the atmospheric, mist-shrouded Bokor Hill Station for a taste of Cambodia’s 1960s heyday. Meanwhile, several of Cambodia’s islands have emerged as terrific alternatives to the more developed Thai islands.

Many write off Phnom Penh. yet it’s a beautiful city, with a stunning colonial heritage, a gorgeous riverside promenade featuring a glittering palace, and a great selection of restaurants and bars.

Shopping here has taken off: trawl the stalls of the Russian market for “antique” finds, wispy organza fabrics and chic ceramics, stop in a few boutiques for home-grown designer clothes and get some leather shoes handcrafted at a bargain price at one of the city’s skilled cobblers.

The reminders of the horrific genocide perpetrated by Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge make for harrowing but essential viewing: do see Tuol Sleng and make a trip to the Killing Fields just outside the city for a sobering aside to your travels as you pause to remember the atrocities humans are capable of committing.
