It was called the Urbana Tigers Athletic Complex and the project cost an estimated $4.3 million.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome sets the tone for all the domed stadiums that have followed it. United Airlines First Class Review 737-900 with New Sky Interior

Travel review

This is a quick update to this review I wrote a few years back. Most of what is written below still applies and at some point in the near future I will have a complete updated review of United s First Class service on their 737 s. The one thing that has changed and I make mention of is their IFE (In-flight entertainment). On aircraft that do not have Directv, United s Private Screening is available. This is their own device entertainment option. Unlike some other airline s there is no charge to access and watch programming on Private Screening (there is a charge for Wi-Fi I will have more details in future update). You just need to download the United App or the correct player on your tablet, smartphone, or laptop. I have successfully watch programs on a few flights last year. However, the last two times I flew United (was on A320) I was unable to watch programming even though I have United s latest app and correct player. I read where they were having a problem with Chrome so that may have been the reason. Before these two episodes I thought United s Private Screening was great with lots of content to choose from.

Upon boarding this flight from SAN to IAH, I immediately sensed something different. It was a bit of a shock as I have flown on United s/Continental s 737 s for years. But the overhead bins and lighting were different. At first I thought maybe this plane was leased from another airline, but quickly realized that this was a new 737-900 and had Boeing s new Sky Interior (inspired by the new interior of the 787). After putting my bag and briefcase in the overhead I took my seat (1E) and realized two things. First; the overheads on this new design are supposed to have more space, but not much more as far as I can tell. I have a standard 21 bag and it seemed to fit the same as United s other 737 s. The second thing was this plane did not have ANY ENTERTAINMENT. Either overhead or seatback. This was very disappointing, as I am sure this delivery was from a Continental order and most (not all, see below) of Continental s 737 s have the Direct TV in the seat back. So you would think a new plane would come equipped with United s latest entertainment offerings. Instead, it had no entertainment options at all. All of United s planes (before merger with Continental) had overhead entertainment and audio as well. Why this plane did not either of those, I do not know. Maybe they will add later or maybe this is new direction United is going in. Either way it took some of the excitement out of flying this 737 with the new Sky Interior. (I recently read that United is having an issue with some seats and that is why the Direct TV has not been installed on all the new 737 s. It is currently on some of the new 737 s with Sky Interior and will be added to the other s in the future).

Travel review

The overhead bins on the the 737 with Sky Interior are pulled down (much like a 777) and the luggage or carry-on is placed inside the bin and you push the bin up to shut. As opposed to opening the latch on the overhead bin and placing your luggage in the bin . Besides being bigger and supposedly providing more room by pulling the bin down it may be easier for someone who is a little shorter to put their luggage in the bin. The other big difference with the Boeing Sky Interior is the lighting. It is a softer blue light compared with non Sky Interior aircraft. The LED (light emitting diode) lighting allows the airlines to add any color they want to the cabin. In this case, United chose blue.

The other thing I found disappointing with this particular aircraft was there was no seat back pocket for the two bulkhead aisle seats in First Class (1B 1E). I hate not having a place to put the newspaper or being able to grab the in-flight magazine. I end up Travel reviewputting the paper on the floor (which doesn t look good) after I am done reading it, plus sometimes I ll get newspaper print on my pants because I will hold it in my lap or put besides me. On the positive side, the seat was very comfortable. The headrest cushion was softer than other of United s first class seats. The seats were nice and wide and the lighting switch is easy to find and provided plenty of light for reading.

The meal service was typical for this flight and time of day. Nice glass of Minute Maid Orange Juice from the carton. A choice of a cheese omelet or cereal and fruit. The omelet was better than usual and the potatoes were as bad as usual. Why ruin perfectly good potatoes by putting asparagus in them?? The breakfast also came with sausage, small bowl of fruit, yogurt, and croissant (no cinnamon roll on this flight seems nothing was going my way ).

Travel review

After breakfast ,since there was nothing to watch, I decided to sleep a little. There were no blankets nor pillows on this flight. I have been noticing on United flights that pillows and blankets are becoming scarcer. Which is a shame. I woke as we were landing in Houston. Flight time was a little under 3 hours and we landed a few minutes early .

The new Sky Interior seems to be an improvement over the older 737 s . I probably would have been more enthusiastic if they had their normal (either overhead or seatback) entertainment on this plane. Without it, it diminished the experience.

I happened to be on the exact same early morning United flight from San Diego to Houston the very next week. It would be nice if United had all their flights leave out of one terminal in San Diego (and a few other locations). But the old Continental routes (EWR IAH) leave out of Terminal 2. The security in Terminal 2 can be very long, plus the United Club is in Terminal 1 (there is a Delta Club in Terminal 2). In addition, there is no consistency what terminal United uses when landing I just returned last week from IAH and we landed in Terminal 1 (I told my wife to pick me up from Terminal 2). But that is a different topic for another day.

This flight was also on a 737-900 and again I was in seat 1E. This plane did not have the Sky Interior, but everything else was the same. Including NO ENTERTAINMENT. What makes this more frustrating is these flights were promoted as having Direct TV. So, Travel reviewif it states that your flight will have Direct TV (or live TV with Delta). It may not be so, not all their planes have these entertainment options (buyer beware). Again, there were no pillow or blankets. But on the plus side this plane did have a seatback pocket in the bulkhead. The meal was very similar. This time a mushroom omelet or cereal with fruit. I liked the cheese omelet from the week before much more. But this time they had the cinnamon rolls. So I was happy. I again slept after breakfast and we were also a few minutes early with this flight.

The service was equally as good on both flights. On the second flight there were three (in addition to the regular crew) flight attendants in training and they were fine and very pleasant (I m sure it won t take them long to loose that enthusiasm). On both flights the leg room was very good. The seat was more comfortable on the 737-900 with the new Sky Interior, but otherwise flights very similar. As a side note, if flying on a United 757 (original United, not Continental) you never want to sit in the bulkhead in First on the E F side (seats 1E 1F). These two seats have the least amount of leg room on the entire plane. 1A 1B have a cut out that provides a few more inches of room. On Continental s old 757 s the bulkheads have cutouts on both sides (I think A B a bit more space). 737 s have plenty of leg room in the bulkhead and 320 319 s have a decent amount of leg room (not as much as United s 737 s though).

KLM Airline review

KLM Airline Review

Albert Plesman Founder of KLM Airlines

KLM Airlines or the Royal Dutch Airlines was established as the first commercial airline in the Netherlands founded by Albert Plesman and endorsed by the Queen of the Netherlands, Queen Wilhelmina in 1919.

The airline, like other European airlines, was severely affected during the World War II in 1940’s. Despite being gravely affected by the war in Europe, KLM was instrumental in extracting refugees from Japanese aggression in the Pacific via  the Australia-Dutch East Indies region.

Pieter Elbers is the chief executive officer of KLM since 2014. He responsible for the further development of the airline as well as the joint ventures it signed with other civil aviation companies.

What people are saying

Previous passengers of KLM Airline gave mixed reviews on the national carries. Despite receiving mixed reactions from their customers, KLM managed to get an overall passing rating.

According to customers, the flight experience with KLM is exceptional because of their top notch inflight services. They are also praised for the entertaining safety video that they show prior to the departure of their flights. Moreover, the lovely flight attendants are the main reason why customers say that the flight was memorable.

On the other hand, some customers said that the airline offers pricey tickets. However, there are still others that claim that the price of the ticket is worth the cost because of the great services the airline provides.

Nevertheless, like any other airlines faced, some customers are not pleased with delayed flights they experienced with KLM.

KLM Airline Website

Meanwhile, the simple but sophisticated website can be utilized for managing flights. Moreover, it s equipped with different important information that can assist passengers for a safe journey. They also advertised promotional round trip packages with relatively affordable prices. Learn more about their website here.

The improved KLM Royal Dutch Airlines mobile app is available in Google Play Store and Apple Apps Store for free. The functional app can be used for all of the customer’s needs; from managing flight bookings to changing passenger seats.

Customer Service

For customer’s general inquiries and assistance, the KLM customers hotline is available via +63 2 588 6900 open 24-hours a day. For more local sales hotlines, customers may visit their website here. Moreover, customers can also use their customer service hotline for customers with medical concerns.

Services

KLM Airlines offers two flight classes, which are available for domestic and international flights; these are Economy Class and Business Class. Flight services may differ among flight classes and routes, which are available within Europe and for long haul destinations.

Furthermore, what’s more interesting about KLM is that unlike other airlines who provide different meals for different flight classes, they serve both classes with three course meals for domestic and international flights. However, business class passengers can enjoy a more spacious cabin compared to the economy passengers.

In flight entertainment is also provided in both flight classes. Meanwhile, flights within Europe don t have inflight entertainment.

About KLM Airline

KLM or formally known as Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij is the flag carrier of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Its main hub is located at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with a fleet size of 115 aircrafts in active service that flies passengers to more than 138 destinations across the globe. Furthermore, KLM is the oldest airline in the world that operates under its original name.

Travel Insured International Trip Protector Lite Review

Specifications

Travel insurance from Travel Insured International extends medical benefits that are less generous compared to insurance plans many holiday insurance firms offer.

This is, no doubt, because Travel Insured International s International Trip Protector Lite plan has one the lowest premiums of the policies available. This is a good family holiday insurance plan because it also insures one child under 18 years old per insured adult. This results in a cheap travel insurance policy that means lower costs to insure the whole family.

The company will compensate you, up to a certain amount, for your non-reimbursable expenses if a trip is canceled or interrupted for many reasons. Some examples of covered events include an accident while en route to departure; death or hospitalization of the traveler s host; sickness, accidental injury or death of the traveler or traveling companion, or a business partner or family member of the traveler or traveling companion; or bad weather that shuts down common carrier services for at least 24 consecutive hours.

In case your trip is delayed for 12 or more hours because of a covered event, this worldwide travel insurance policy will reimburse you for any prepaid, unused and nonrefundable portion of your expenses. This covers such things as extra transportation costs from the point where you were delayed to a point where you can join the trip for which you have paid. It also covers additional reasonable expenses for the meals and lodgings forced by the delay up to $100 per day.

If you compare travel insurance plans, Travel Insured International does not provide coverage if you miss a connection, unlike the best travel insurance plans.

If a common carrier loses your baggage, you can be paid a benefit of up to $750 (with a $50 deductible). If your baggage is delayed for 24 hours, you can be compensated for $200.

Some other useful international travel insurance benefits include help getting lost passports or visas back, and assistance getting prescription drugs and replacement eyeglasses. The cost of the prescription drugs is included under the policy s medical coverage, but the eyeglasses are not.

The company provides online access so you can report claims. Toll-free assistance by telephone provides referral services any time such as medical advice, translation services and numerous similar services. You can pay an additional premium to upgrade to the medical expense benefit and the emergency evacuation benefits.

Tucan Travel Australia, Tours to Peru – an independent review by

#tucan travel
#

Tucan Travel UK

Tucan has been leading travellers and exploring the depths of South America since the early 80’s. Having specialised in Latin America for so many years they have taken their award winning formula and expanded their tours to adventure destinations worldwide. Over the years they have earned an excellent reputation for providing quality trips that are excellent value for money. They are one of the best tour companies in the world in their specialist styles of travel.

Tucan offers a selection of different types of trip. We have summarised them briefly below (information provided by Tucan):

Discovery Tours

When Tucan Travel started operating Discovery tours five years ago we were certain this travel style would prove popular, and we were not mistaken. This travel style grew from an emerging trend of travellers who wanted to visit the region in comfort and security but with an adventurous spirit. Discovery Tours offer clients the flexibility of private vehicle travel with the comfort of hotel accommodation. The itineraries have many inclusions but are well structured to also allow the traveller plenty of free time.

Discovery Tours are ideal for travellers who may be concerned about safety, enjoy vehicle-based travel and like the comforts of hotel accommodation. Advantages of Discovery Tour travel include having the services of both a tour leader and a driver, the flexibility to stop for photos and breaks when the group chooses and the ability to store their extra luggage and souvenirs on the vehicle.

Adventure Tours

Our Adventure Tours are continually evolving and have become our most popular touring style. Over the years we have redesigned our itineraries according to client feedback. We take into consideration time to relax after long travelling days, we choose hotels based on their safety, cleanliness and central locations and we work hard to ensure our clients have the opportunity to experience the best a country has to offer. Adventure Tours allow travellers more authentic interaction with the local population through travelling on a variety of local transport.

Adventure Tours are particularly enjoyable for those who see the journey as the destination. Travellers who consider a local market the perfect place to sit and absorb its culture, or a bus journey through the countryside with a few rural animals on board a laugh. Adventure travellers may have taken Spanish lessons before they travelled, spent hours on the internet researching new destinations and are now infatuated with travelling.

Overland Expeditions

Overland Expeditions attract a distinctive clientele: genuine travel addicts who realise that South America and Africa are huge continents which deserve as much time as they can possibly afford to give them. These tours run from 6 to 171 days in length and travel on our modern and comfortable fleet of overland vehicles. Clients combine hotel/hostel accommodation in the larger cities with camping in the smaller towns and national parks. Tucan Travel offer the highest quality equipment, the best overland vehicles around, a large support network and a dedicated and experienced crew, making our Overland Expeditions the best in South America and Africa.

Due to their longer durations and camping element, Overland Expeditions generally attract younger travellers. Some are on career breaks, others have finished tertiary education and are on a round-the-world trip. But one thing is certain, Overland Expedition travellers know what they want to see and theyre here to enjoy it – even if it takes a little time.

Budget Expeditions

Budget Expeditions was born in 2003 as the youth brand of Tucan Travel, with carefully designed itineraries for 18 to 35s who want to explore the world but dont want to pay the earth. Because we offer so many optional excursions, Budget Expeditions are an excellent choice for price-conscious travellers who want the flexibility to choose their own adventures with maximum control over their budgets.

In 2008, Tucan Travel took the independent brand back under its wing as a travel style. It now offers a broad range of itineraries across South America and East Southern Africa.

Independent Travel

Travel to adventurous destinations has increased in popularity in every market. Tucan Travel recognises that group travel may not be everyones choice and we are continuously researching and expanding travellers options for Independent travel. Travellers may choose day trips, hotel and/or transport combinations, locally guided excursions or choose to link modules together to create their own personal holiday.

Singles, couples, families and private groups choose the flexibility of Independent Travel. Clients select hotel comfort rating, when and where they want to travel and for how long. Whether theyre looking for an excursion of one day or several weeks were sure with our Independent Travel packages we can cater for all needs.

Expedition Cruising

There are parts of the world that can only be accessed by ship, such as the polar regions, and others that are best explored via rivers, like the Amazon rainforest. Places like Patagonia and the Galapagos Islands are absolutely teeming with wildlife, so an Expedition Cruise gives you the best chance to get closer to nature. Our cruises operate on smaller, purpose-built or specially adapted ships that offer high levels of service, excellent facilities and crucially, represent great value for money. Our Expedition Cruises focus on the adventure itself rather than just reaching a destination, so you really get the most out of every minute of your holiday.

Expedition Cruises are perfect for adventure travellers who are looking for a way to experience remote areas of the world in comfort and style. If youre interested in walking across diverse and fascinating landscapes, snorkelling and swimming activities, lectures by knowledgeable naturalist guides and meeting local people, Expedition Cruises are for you.

TravelSupermarket Review

Nowadays it’s not just groceries that people shop for; travel packages have been a hit with the budget conscious traveler since the emergence of online travel agencies.

One online travel agency even played with naming their company to perfectly fit the transformation of travel packages from a luxury to a necessity. Enter TravelSupermarket, where all deals are great and discounts are drop dead awesome.

This TravelSupermarket review would try to get as much truth on the advertisements posted by the online travel agency as well as the customer’s satisfaction rating with their services.

The English Mom Pop Travel Grocer

TravelSupermarket is a UK based online travel agency the caters to the travel needs of the entire family. Based on their LinkedIn account, the company “compares flights, car hire, hotels, cruise, package holidays and dynamic packaging by searching hundreds of travel websites. The information supplied is unbiased and is designed to save the customer time and money.”

However, this TravelSupermarket review found out that the online travel agency had recently tied up with TrainGenius. which handles train ticket sales. TrainGenius was licensed by all train operating companies across the UK, making it the biggest train ticketing agent through online or call center.

This recent tie-up is coupled by TravelSupermarket’s experience in getting information directly from “suppliers such as Opodo, British Airways, Thomas Cook, First Choice, Thomson, Thomas Cook, Holiday Autos, Auto-Europe” among others. Add to that, TravelSupermarket is a subsidiary of the MoneySupermarket.com Group PLC.

With such a big organization, would it truly be able to provide the most affordable travel packages to each and every Englishman and woman? This TravelSupermarket review would soon find out!

Blimey

Based on experiences shared by previous customers, TravelSupermarket’s services were disgraceful and not worth a single star on a survey. A customer said that they bought a train travel package for two for $27. After the transaction was made, the customer found out the the ticket sold to them was good for only one traveler. The customer called customer support only to hear the person on the other end of the line advise them that they needed to add an additional $20 to book another passenger in the package.

Meanwhile, there were also some customers who enjoyed the service of TravelSupermarket. Then again, there had been very limited information about the online travel agency among travelers from other countries since the company is mainly focused in serving travelers in the UK.

A very English holiday

The website features a lot of travel packages for the curious lads and ladies in the English isle. In fact, they offer packages within the UK and across the globe. This TravelSupermarket review would brush over those options on the website.

At the top portion of the website is the navigation bar where customers can check holidays, flights, hotels, car hire, travel insurance, travel extras, and the online travel agency’s blog.

On the left portion of the website, customers would be able to type in specific information on the tour package that they were looking for. Add to that, customers could also check out the advertisement at the midsection of the website where they could find advertisements on the latest inexpensive deals out in the market.

Meanwhile, this TravelSupermarket review was also able to visit the contact us page where customers would be able to find the phone hotline and email for both TravelSupermarket and TrainGenius concerns and feedback.

Contact information

Speaking of the contact us page, this TravelSupermarket review was also able to collect the following additional information:

  • Website URL: http://www.travelsupermarket.com/
  • Contact number: 01241 661698
  • Head Office Address: London

British Pub and American Bar

There are somethings best kept exclusive to a certain group of people. The same goes with TravelSupermarket that targets mostly residents in the UK. Although it feels much like any other online travel agency, it does offer some peculiar yet very interesting packages like the train package.

In the US, it would be a rare instance where an online travel agency specializing on flight packages would also have train packages. Then again, it’s always good to have some sort of variety in the online travel industry.

If this TravelSupermarket review was helpful, don’t forget to leave a note at the bottom of the page.

A Movie Review by Dan Stumpf: HOME AT SEVEN (1953) #ioffer

#

HOME AT SEVEN. British Lion Film Corp. 1952. Released in the US as Murder on Monday . 1953. Ralph Richardson, Margaret Leighton, Jack Hawkins, Campbell Singer, Michael Shepley, Margaret Withers. Based on a play by R.C. Sherriff. Director: Ralph Richardson.

[Before reading the review that follows, you may wish to go back to Dan’s earlier comments on Interrupted Journey . reviewed here. —Steve.]

That scene toward the end of Interrupted Journey came strongly to mind as I watched another British Film, Home at Seven . the only film ever directed by Sir Ralph Richardson, and a pleasant surprise from start to finish.

When Great Actors turn to Directing Fillums, they often get a bit mannered. Sometimes unbearably so. I m reminded of Laurence Harvey s awful The Ceremony and John Wayne s ponderous The Alamo . Even films I rather enjoy, such as Olivier s Hamlet and Brando s One-Eyed Jacks suffer from a certain amount of self-conscious narcissism.

Which is why I was so charmed by Home at Seven ’s unpretentious spontaneity. From start to finish, it s a quiet, workmanlike job of entertainment never flashy boasting fine performances from Richardson (always a delight to watch) Margaret Leighton and Jack Hawkins.

I can tell a little about the plot this time: Richardson plays a Bank Clerk who returns home from work one night carrying the evening paper; promptly at Seven as usual to find his wife in tears. His first impulse is to soothe her, of course, and when she tells him he s been missing for the last 24 hours, he poohpoohs the notion, pointing out that he s clean, shaved, his clothes not slept in, and carrying the Monday Paper: Hardly the appearance of a man who s lost a day.

Surely, he tells her, it must have been a dream she had while napping. Must stop working so hard, and all that. At which point he discovers that it s Tuesday s Paper he s holding.

It s an intriguing notion to start a film with, and it gets better as Richardson discovers that money he was responsible for is missing and a close associate is dead. Very swiftly, the film becomes another paranoid nightmare, on the order of Interrupted Journey . but done with just a touch more realism and consideration to character.

Unlike the characters in most thrillers, everyone in Home at Seven seems perfectly real and very likable: Richardson s Average-Guy Hero, his fretful wife, Jack Hawkins sympathetic Doctor and even someone named Campbell Singer as an apologetic but insistent Police Inspector. One gets a real sense of ordinary people who ve had some awful intrusion into their lives and can t figure how to cope with it.

There is a stunningly effective scene in Home at Seven where Richardson and his wife are at home and he thinks the Police are coming to arrest him for Murder. Sound familiar? I thought so too. But wait; Feeling the Long Arm of The Law at his back, Richardson sits down with his wife at the kitchen table and quietly begins to explain to her how to do the Accounts.

It s a moment all the more touching for its restraint with both of them trying hard not to cry as they deal with the commonplace aspects of a nightmare, and it shows a sensitivity and intelligence that are just too rare in the Film Thriller.

6 Responses to A Movie Review by Dan Stumpf: HOME AT SEVEN (1953).

As you say Richardson directs in a simple almost matter of fact manner that allows the viewer to really identify with the character s plight, and everyone in the film personifies that dignified decentness of a certain type and class of Brit from that period.

I agree, that scene where he starts to tell his wife how to do the accounts is brilliant. It s all the more powerful for being so truthfully observed.

Richardson was never as showy as Olivier or Gielgud not even in showy roles like in Eugene O Neill or the grandfather in GREYSTOKE.

Here he simply chooses to observe a man under a magnifying glass at a point of crisis in his life. He soft pedals the melodrama and instead finds the quiet tension of a man whose world is turned upside down.

Great review of a great little film.

I certainly want to see it now. It sounds like exactly the kind of film I enjoy with any luck, such new broadcast networks as This TV, which are plundering English films of this era, or the more respectful cable stations such as TCM, will make it available soon.

I ll have to track this down. Like Todd, this is sounds like the kind of movie I enjoy.

George and Todd

It doesn t appear that the movie is commercially available on DVD, but at least three sellers on ioffer.com have collector-to-collector copies for sale. I don t recognize their monikers so I can t recommend one over the other, should you go that route.

I think this has played on TCM at least once which is where I think I saw it though it may have been on the old Family Channel which had quite a few old British films in its lineup.

I recently bought DVD movie titled Home at seven from E-bay. I was very, very disappointed that it did NOT have Closed Captions. It is a must for the deaf and hard of hearing people. That movie is talky movie not much action.
I hope it will be shown with CC on TCM channel soon. PLEASE. Thanks, Cornelia Strohmeier of San Jose, CA

Smile Design Dentistry of Tampa Palms – General Dentistry – 16021

#

16021 Tampa Palms Blvd W
Tampa. FL 33647
(813) 517-1446

In the Tampa Florida area this Dental Group is the place to go. All of the doctors in this group are great but if i had to choose one it would be Dr Gary Nanavati. You can get more info than i can list here from their website thesmiledesign.com. They are my latest addition to my list of Great Dentists in the US Dr Gary Nanavati is all about continuing education and the latest techniques. The last time I saw him was when some of my staff and I was doing a 3 part course in the Clearwater area. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr Patel and Dr Buckley. Rest assured your mouth will be in good hands with the doctors of Tampa Palms Dental.

Best dentistry office I have ever been to. I have a history of gum issues, but my hygienist, Stephanie, has helped me get them into shape. She recommended all the right products I needed, but never pushed anything on me that I didn t really need. The result, after a few visits, is that my gums are in better shape than ever! Today she said, Your gums look great! I never thought I d hear that in my lifetime. Stephanie is courteous, professional, friendly, and really good at what she does. Thank you, Stephanie, and thank you Smile Dentist Design for a consistently positive experience at the dentist.

Only went because they were having a summer special. I am not sure what their usual pricing is. It is located in the publix plaza so it is in a really nice location. The dentist that came in to see me had an amazing personality, actually seemed like he wanted to be there and that he enjoyed his job. I would come here again.

I made an appt with Dr. Bucklley, New Tampa Palms office I was impressed with the receptionist and the overall look of the office. thought great I have found an office I liked that is approved by my insurance. BIG MISTAKE. upon completing the paperwork mixed in with the HIPA forms was a document that states Patient consent to use credit, debit card disclosure the form required initial by each statement and sign (patient will not challenge any charges made by Smile Design Dentistry to my bank debit or credit card. I explained I am not comfortable signing a form that takes my rights away and give you card blanch to my bank/credit account so I asked if I was reading this correctly and the office manager stated that is correct you are giving up you right to dispute any changes made by the office. I ripped up the paper work (except for the one page document discussed above) and stated I hope all their patients read what they sign. I would only authorize charges on an aggreed upon dental plan of treatment. The office manager said then we won t treat you without cash and I was free to leave. I hope the doctors review just what they are requesting of their patients.

Cornish College of the Arts Reviews

Cornish provides several well-established and innovative programs and the students are great. Opportunity to have real impact in such a small school (less than 800 students, less than 200 staff/faculty). Staff members generally have creative or fine art background. Currently restructuring curriculums to be more innovative and contemporary.

Aging facilities and disorganized leadership hurt the school. They pay staff poorly, and there are very few perks. Tuition is very high, yet admission standards are somewhat low – tuition-funded school = they need to admit as many students as they can. Transition to new curriculum has been bumpy and perhaps does not serve undergraduate students as well as it could.

Advice to Management

Aquire more funding. Establish an endowment. Provide more internship and career placement / training opportunities. Provide better pay – or at least more perks – to employees.

Excellent coworkers
Good benefits
Supporting students learning
Many industry events and opportunities to network.
Can really clock in and clock out if you want.

The pay is embarrassingly bad. IT IS SO BAD. Can t emphasize this enough. Unless you are independently wealthy, go somewhere else.

The upper level of administration is chaotic, opaque, and bombastic. Extremely unclear expectations and out of touch with how long implementation takes. Total top-down management style. Very little room to collaborate or innovate. All campus meetings are just a formality. Little interest in letting faculty and staff lead the way forward. Watch your back.

Poor personnel management is poor. There is little room for advancement and next to no career training or professional development resources.

There are huge structural issues and massive up-heaves, all glossed over and unexplained.

Many systems are way behind the times and many departments are taking on the work of other departments.

Overall, do not feel valued as an employee.

Advice to Management

Use actual collaboration. The people on the bottom have value and insight. Short of that, at least communicate clearly with us regarding changes and rational. Transparency is a huge issue, and the lack of it has created a great sense of ill-ease and distrust.

Hire a project manager!

Core faculty members who shirk their responsibilities to meetings, etc. Pressure placed on adjuncts to shape curriculum and yet have no room to advance at the college. Basically, the college loves how successful we are in our artistic lives and wants to use our reputations, knowledge, clout, and thoughts for free. Our research gives us no guarantee for a shot at advancement. Because of this, the college hemorrhages great faculty and hangs onto complacent, staid teachers.

Advice to Management

Stop putting outstanding faculty in adjunct purgatory.

I have been working at Cornish College of the Arts part-time

Excellent people and community. My boss and my colleagues are collaborative and kind. There is a real sense that people care about each other and the students are inspiring and hungry to learn.

This company is declining rather than growing and they have handled lay-offs terribly – without grace, respect or context. For those who are attracted to this company, know that they do not seem to be making more long-term positions and are relying increasingly on contracted adjunct instructors rather than core professors.

Advice to Management

Communicate with the faculty and staff in more than representative ways. Everyone who works are Cornish is devoted to the community there. They want to be part of the solution not treated like the problem.

Aloha Bail Bonds – Bail Bondsmen – 320 W Cedar St,

San Diego. CA 92101

I was involved in an unfortunate situation where I had to find a bailsbond while I was in jail. I called Aloha bailsbond because the name reminding me of Hawaii (I know, it s lame, but when hundreds of options are presented, you go off of instinct). She picked up the phone immediately and totally trusted that I would pay her when I got out. She posted bail for me without a dime and on a promise. I was out as soon as they allowed us. Very responsive and professional and would highly recommend. While her office location is not one to be desired, Aloha was very professional and handled my situation delicately. Highly recommend her service.

Don t know what the below person is talking about. It seems as though he has a personal problem with the owner, and says nothing about the service provided. I had a great experience with Aloha. They were very nice and knowledgeable. Got my brother out of jail fast and worked with me on payments.

Honda CR-Z Reviews – Honda CR-Z Price, Photos, and Specs –

Honda CR-Z

Honda CR-Z

The CR-Z is an ambitious attempt at making a sporty hybrid, but its performance doesn t match its adventurous styling. The good news is that it s the only hybrid sold with a manual a six-speed but the bad news is that the combined output is a mere 130 hp. A 1.5-liter four-cylinder pairs with an electric motor; the EPA rates it for 36-mpg city/39-mpg highway with the optional CVT; the manual gets 31/38. Standard features include Bluetooth capability, automatic climate control, and cruise. Jump to Official Photos and Info 2016 Honda CR-Z

2016 Honda CR-Z: The Hybrid Two-Seater Gets a Refresh

Last call.

2016 Honda CR-Z Honda CR-Z 2016 2.0 1.0 5.0

  • MICHAEL SIMARI
  • THE MANUFACTURER

Let s be nice up top. The Honda CR-Z is the only hybrid on sale with a manual transmission, and it s a satisfying stick in the best Honda tradition. That s something BMW doesn t offer on the i8. And aside from million-dollar hypercars like the LaFerrari and the McLaren P1. the CR-Z is the only hybrid two-seater out there.

But since its 2011 debut, the CR-Z Honda s self-proclaimed successor to the CRX has missed the bull s-eye of both its targets, namely being sporty and efficient. Even with that crisp six-speed, the CR-Z is not terribly fun to drive, and Honda s larger, plusher (and on-hiatus) Accord hybrid crushed this car s fuel economy. As for the projected 15,000 annual sales worldwide, well, recent volumes have been a fraction of that number.

The CR-Z s real achievement is longevity. Since it has survived to the 2016 model year, Honda whipped up a minor refresh and introduced a more expensive EX-L trim level. Outside, the 2016 CR-Z gets new front and rear bumpers. The formerly body-color paint at the bottom of the glass-topped hatch is now gloss black. And the license-plate mount has adopted a more polygonal shape.

Inside, the most obvious change is the center console, which now features a closed storage bin and an armrest where the handbrake lever once lived. That s right, Mugen boys: No more crazy e-brake turns, as the 2016 CR-Z now has an electronic parking brake. Additional plastic brightwork adorns the dash, door handles, and shifter, and all CR-Z models get keyless entry and push-button start. A seven-inch touch-screen audio system is newly standard, too. EX-L models, befitting Honda practice, bring heated leather seats with contrast stitching, while LaneWatch Honda s side-mirror camera that displays an image from the passenger-side blind spot on the central screen now is standard on the EX and higher.

Honda s Integrated Motor Assist, a simple hybrid setup that dates back to the original Insight. carries on unchanged. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder and 20-hp electric motor combine for 130 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. (Choosing the CVT, a $650 option on all trim levels, drops torque to 127 lb-ft.) As before, the CR-Z rides on skinny, 195-width 16-inch tires and a suspension consisting of front struts and a rear torsion beam. But engineers installed a 1-mm thicker front anti-roll bar, widened the rear track by 0.4 inch, and enlarged the front and rear brakes by 0.8 and 0.9 inch (for a diameter of 11.1 inches at all four corners).

With all these updates, the CR-Z costs $150 more than the 2015 model, starting at $21,130 for the LX manual, $22,975 for the EX manual, and topping out at $25,925 for the EX-L CVT. Fuel economy stands at an EPA-rated 31/38 mpg city/highway with the manual and 36/39 for the CVT. Those used to be impressive numbers, before highway ratings for nonhybrid mid-size sedans like the Kia Optima (39 mpg) and the Mazda 6 (38 mpg) began climbing into the upper 30s.

Honda appears to have seen the light. Its other slow-selling IMA-based hybrids, the Civic hybrid and the Insight. already have been discontinued. The company s latest Earth Dreams powertrains, as was seen in the Accord hybrid, offer the impressive power and fuel savings we ve wanted all along in the CR-Z. Although it s not dead yet, the CR-Z in its current form may be on its way out, with the next generation becoming more of a true sports car. We think that would be a smart move.

Booking.com Review

By providing robust tools that greatly simplify user experience, customer favorite Booking.com offers easy access to one of the widest selections of both traditional hotels and harder-to-find lodging options.

The Good

One of the best in customer satisfaction

According to an independent study by J.D. Power and Associates in 2012, Booking.com scored the best in terms of overall customer satisfaction. They received above-average ratings in all categories — the only company in the study to do so — and customers particularly appreciated Booking.com’s clean website layout and intuitive booking process. The wide variety of travel accommodations available and the detailed information about each property also left a good impression on those who visited the website. These may seem like relatively insignificant details, but they make a big difference in your overall experience.

Deals on all types of accommodations

In addition to hotels, Booking.com offers deals on a number of other places to stay, including resorts, vacation rentals, and hostels. Some of these lodging options can be found on a few other travel sites, but certain types of accommodations like bed and breakfasts and homestays are a little harder to come by on most major travel booking websites. If you’re interested in one of these alternative travel accommodations, definitely explore what Booking.com has to offer because you won’t be able to find a selection like this elsewhere.

Thematic search functionality

Booking.com enables you to search for travel accommodations by theme, some of which are based on locations or amenities like beach and spa hotels, while others are tailored to specific groups of travelers like family and business hotels. If you fit into one of these categories, this is a good place to start your search. Additional search criteria, including specific dates and hotel ratings, can be added to speed up the process of finding the perfect place to stay.

Account available on any device

Your Booking.com account is accessible from your computer, tablet, and smartphone, which facilitates the booking process considerably. For example, say you’re in the middle of looking at hotels online when you have to run out the door. Sign in to your account on your mobile app and click on recent searches. Since everything is synced, you can quickly return to what you were looking at without having to re-enter your search criteria. Credit card information is also stored across all devices so you can make a reservation quickly.

Powerful mobile capabilities

Booking.com’s app has garnered some of the highest reviews of any mobile app in the industry, earning over a 4.5 out of 5 stars from customers. Available on Android, Apple, and Windows phones, the app gives you access to all of the same search tools found on the company’s website. If you’re looking for a last-minute hotel, Booking.com’s mobile app shows you what’s available in your area with just a few clicks. Once you’ve made your reservation, the app even provides a map from where you are to the location using the GPS in your phone. Signing into your account from the app makes the booking process move even faster and all of your searches and payment information are automatically synced with your phone for future use.

Secret deals for members

Booking.com’s newsletters contain Secret Deals, which are half-price hotels and other travel accommodations available for a short time. These emails can be customized by selecting your favorite travel destinations. Booking.com keeps an eye out for any deals that apply and alerts you right away, so you can finally book that dream vacation at a price that fits within your budget. These newsletters are free to subscribe to and you can unsubscribe at any time, but they’re definitely worth a look if you want insider information on the best hotel deals available.

The Bad

List prices don’t include tax

Easy Click Travel – Poor Service, Review 584388 #travel #games

#easy click travel
#

Poor Service

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received from easyclicktravel.com.

I booked a room at the Ramada Inn and Suites Nashville at the stadium downtown through easyclicktravel.com for a two night room,

Several weeks before my trip, I called the Ramada to confirm my reservation. The Ramada does not have me registered. After a follow up call to Easyclicktravel.com, they assured me that my reservation was booked and that sometimes the hotels will not confirm until a week or two before. I called again several times including two days before my departure. Ramada was still not confirmed, in fact, they told me that the hotel is sold out. I continued to have several exasperating talks with easyclicktravel.com assuring me that I will have a room, but still the room was not confirmed. This is a serious issue since I already paid easyclicktravel.com for this room.

Twenty-four hours before I left for my trip, I spoke to easyclicktravel.com again. They confirmed that the Ramada was indeed sold out and they have a room for me 5 miles away. They couldn t get find anything closer because it was a busy weekend and that there must be an event going on. Considering I had no car and planned to stay in downtown Nashville and walk everywhere, this is unacceptable and I would never have gone on this trip if I had to stay five miles away. I was also told on the phone by easyclicktravel.com that if they are unable confirm your hotel, easyclicktravel.com will find you a nearby location at the same star hotel or better. Five miles away is not a nearby location. Less than 24 hours before my trip, easyclicktravel.com was able to rebook my room at the Ramada.

I find this behavior in an online travel booking site completely unacceptable and cannot believe you run a business this way.

China Travel Service International (REVIEW) – China Forum #travel #finder

China Travel Service International (REVIEW)

First off – BE CAREFUL as there are dozens of agencies called China Travel Service so don t get confused. The company I am reviewing is China Travel Services International based in San Francisco, CA (also in Los Angeles. New York and Beijing ) and their website is www.intertrips.com (so you don t get confused).

After searching the Internet and talking to local travel agents, we decided to go with CTSI and worked with Alex Wang in the SF office.

We read some horror stories about poor quality food, hotels, airlines and high-pressure sales at factory stores so were obviously concerned when we booked, especially given CTSI was quite a bit cheaper then the other online travel agencies.

Well, we just completed a 21+ day tour from SF to Beijing, Shanghai. Xian, Guilin, Yangshuo, Hangzhou, a cruise on the Yangtze River /Three Gorges. Hong Kong and a custom side trip to Canton.

Here s are feedback on each of the important criteria:

Itinerary: The itinerary was perfectly planned, not only allowing us to visit a variety of cities/provinces, but also experiencing the broad spectrum of local cultures throughout China. We experienced the busy cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, but also relaxed in Hangzhou, Yangshuo and of course the cruise on the Yangtze River – none of which we would have enjoyed if not recommended by your company. We originally had concerns with 21 packed days of travel (esp. with young children and seniors with us) but everything down to the daily itinerary (including shows/entertainment) was perfectly orchestrated.

Food/Accommodations: This is the area we were most concerned with because of reviews on the Internet but was NEVER a problem on our tour. EVERY meal was colorfully prepared in local tradition and served in banquet style, dish after dish! Accommodations were all first class – both clean and functional and centrally located. Even the domestic and international flights were as good if not better than domestic flights in the US.

Local/National Tour guides: The local and national CTSI tour guides were what really transformed a 21-day tour into a memorable experience of a lifetime. They were ALWAYS there to educate us on the local sights and customs, assist us in every aspect of our stay, and constantly making us laugh. We especially want to thank David (Hangqing) Huang our national guide in Beijing/Xian/Guilin/Shanghai who was more like an ambassador to us than a tour guide and Andy in Guilin who “joined” our family during our stay.

Price Value: We searched every online and offline travel company specializing in China Travel (many with the similar names) but narrowed down to CTSI/Intertrips. We were a bit concerned that we would be getting less quality than other more expensive tours, but upon our return, now know we just got the best value!

Caveats: So not to paint our travel as perfect (although darn close) some things to consider. Food was high quality and plentiful (banquet style – dish after dish) but contains more oil and less salt than Chinese food we have in US. As you get closer to Hong Kong, you will find food more similar to that in US. We did take at least one break from Chinese food (25 days!!) and ate at local Mc Donalds which had a more diverse menu than US!

Shopping is great everywhere but sales people can be aggressive and be prepared to negotiate. Weather was hot and humid, but we survived.

We found the people very nice and courteous (except at markets and trains) and surprisingly very clean – more so than Chinatowns in the US.

We considered booking our own itinerary, but the cost was not only more expensive, but the language barrier and lack of experience would have been a big mistake.

Hope you all enjoy as much we did!

Cheap Trips is a Scam, Review 5376 #europe #train #travel

#cheap trips
#

Cheap Trips is a Scam!

You’re not the only idiot. Not only did I buy a membership, I also fell for the misrepresented ‘Vacation Club’ package. I on the other hand cannot reach them by phone because they’re toll free numbers are not available in my area (Canada), which makes it impossible for me to book they’re services by phone.

Following is they’re refund policy.

My complaint with cheaptrips is this, for over a week I have received numerous phone calls asking for someone named Cherise. After the first couple of calls I politely told the man on the phone he had the wrong number, AGAIN, and I wanted to stop receiving calls for this unknown Cherise. He assured me my number would be removed from his list.

I thought it must be a credit company trying to hound this woman. I also thought that would be the end of it.

However the number of calls has increased. I tell every caller they have the wrong number. I don’t know Cherise. She cannot be reached at my number.

Earlier today I got another call, this time identifying the caller as being from CheapTrip. I didn’t even bother to speak, just hung up.

A few minutes ago the phone rang again and a man again asked for Cherise. I asked him who he represented and he said CheapTrip. I explained that I had been receiving calls for this Cherise person for at least a week and I was tired of it. I wanted them to stop calling my number.

The man then proceeded to argue with me that I was wrong, that it must be someone else who has been calling for Cherise, and that CheapTrip had never called my number. As though Cherise is such a common name that he and ALL the other callers, unconnected with Cheaptrip according to him, had coincidentally called MY number looking for someone with her name. Yea, right.

What I want to do now is to contact someone in their corporate office, if there is such a thing, so that I can register a complaint about this particular salesman. You don’t call total strangers and then accuse them of lying because they ask you not to call their number again. I’m fed up with trying to be polite with these people. I want to know how to get my number off their stupid list AND who I can complain to about this .

Can anyone help me with the current address/phone number. Or better yet is there an agency that handles consumer complaints like this?

MCAT Review

MCAT-Review.org offers MCAT Review and MCAT Prep online for free. Comprehensive, to-the-point review notes for each of the officially tested MCAT topics are listed below. In addition, we also provide strategies and an on-going project to crack the MCAT.

Because of the concise explanations and clear-cut diagrams, MCAT-Review.org has attracted over 3 million page views since it first launched. Over 20,000 students have reviewed the notes on this website in the last month. Don’t take the MCAT without going over MCAT-Review.org!

  • Incorporation of new information

Source: Official testing topics were obtained directly from the AAMC.

How to Review for the MCAT

You want to review for the MCAT in the most efficient way. First, review only the topics that will be on the exam. Second, review these exam topics with the test in mind. What this means is that you must do content review in conjunction with working real exam questions.

If you just do content review alone, then you’ll end up forgetting most of what you went over. However, if you work MCAT problems while doing content review, you’ll retain most of what you learned. Incidentally, the stuff that you retain will be the stuff that will be tested on the MCAT.

There’s only so many concepts an introductory course can cover, and there’s only so many ways one can test these concepts. So, if you know the aamc topics, and you do enough past MCAT questions, then you’ll figure things out.

What this means is that a question may at first appear to be very difficult because of the way it’s worded, or because it is given in the context of a strange experiment that you’ve never heard before. But then you’ll realize that the MCAT doesn’t test you on strange experiments that are not covered in a basic introductory course. After realizing this, you’ll be able to see right through the strange experiment and realize that the question is simply testing you on some very basic concept, like Le Chatelier’s principle, just disguised in the context of some unfamiliar situation.

To sum things up, review for the MCAT effectively by going over the official test topics published by the AAMC. Use the online notes here to guide your studies. And remember, do not wait until the last minute to take past MCAT exams. Start doing MCAT questions as early as possible, in conjunction with content review. Have fun reviewing for the MCAT!

I found these folks after an exhausting internet and personal search. I will say hands down this is the best run facility in SLC. Unlike other support groups that you sit around in a circle and hash out your war stories for 3 hours ( which is helpful to no one) this facility treats the whole person. with on-site doctors, behavioral specialists, psychologists, and an easy flexible schedule for folks who have to work and have a family. Other places are so regimented it s almost impossible to have a full-time job and get help. not here. The staff is so caring and the owner is one of a kind gem, Michelle really cares about us all. I have never felt more supported and loved 🙂 thank you Pathways.

As a therapist I have sent a number of clients to Pathways they have one of the best programs in Utah. They have a lot of flexibility with insurance which is a huge blessing.

Allianz Travel Insurance Review

First, no I do not work for Allianz lol. Seems like whenever they get a good review, the person is accused of being an employee. Not the case.

I used to be a travel agent with AAA and we always recommended the Access American product to our travelers. So, when I bought airline tickets much farther in advance than I normally do, I bought travel insurance thru Allianz (formerly Access) and also added the required to work rider for it just in case.

So glad I did! Due to some changes in my department I was not able to go on vacation as previously planned.

I cancelled my airline tickets and submitted my claim online on 9/16, including printouts showing I cancelled the tickets, along with an email from my supervisor indicating I was required to work.

I received my FULL refund check on 9/30 no questions asked. I am very pleased in how quickly they turned around the claim and that they did not try and play games with me as I d seen in others reviews. I will purchase insurance thru them again!

    GoDaddy Review

    Price: $62.99 (2x120GB HDD, 2GB RAM)

GoDaddy also has some of the best prices around. Even when taking advantage of some of their greatest packages, the pricing is still very minimal compared to some alternatives.

When it comes to dedicated servers, GoDaddy.com has a few strides over the competition. Their many different packages and programs allow you choice and the ability to get what you actually need – nothing you don t. What you re probably looking for a piece of mind, security and the knowledge that you can trust in the service provider you have just chosen without all the hassle that can come with it. The Economy and Value Deal packages offer 2GB RAM for the modest user, while the others offer 4GB RAM, except the 64 bit options, which offer a full 8GB RAM.

Year round you are backed by 24/7 support. They maintain their servers, keeping a watchful eye over your website to ensure that any and all threats are caught before they can do any damage.

Not only do they offer security support, but they also offer 24/7 phone support for all your hosting questions, comments or concerns

All the dedicated server plans that GoDaddy offers come with these perks on top of the service you are getting: Up to $129.93 in Google Adwords Credit, $103.95 Bing / Yahoo Search Credit, $51.97 Facebook Advertising Credit, SSL Certificate, 3 dedicated IP Addresses, 10 Fotolia Credits and Bandwidth Overage Protection

Their plans offer the operating systems Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora and Windows so that you have a wide array of places to start from

These packages give you up to 2, 64 GB solid-state drives for all your memory needs and an allowable 3,000 GB per month for bandwidth.

All of GoDaddy s servers are protected with Tipping Point Intrusion Protection Systems. An advanced piece of software that constantly scans packages and determines whether they are malicious or perceived as a threat. The filters are updated on a regular basis to ensure that the most up-to-date protection is offered.

The longer you sign up for, the better the deal will get. 1, 6, 12 and 24 month contracts are available for the deal that you think will be best. Their 64 bit package pricing ranges from $187.09 to $392.92 / month on a 12 month commitment. Longer term commitments are available if you should require better deals

Whether you are the micro-business or individual just looking for a dedicated server, GoDaddy is worth being considered before you make your selection.

    Review: Chris Stapleton, ‘Traveller’

Traveller Courtesy of the artist hide caption

toggle caption Courtesy of the artist

Even the most seemingly organic contemporary country albums — the ones by often-awarded “authentic” artists like Miranda Lambert and Eric Church — can sometimes show evidence of a checklist. Eager to prove both currency and adherence to tradition, these more daring country stars range over predetermined territory, showing familiarity with Southern musical landmarks like the blue hills, the swamp, the honky-tonk and the arena-rock amphitheater. There’s almost always a funny song on these album, and a family-focused tearjerker; there are numerous references to hard liquor and soft-focused rural landscapes. There’s some fast picking and power-chord riffing, and a soulful moment that hits purposeful transcendence. The best artists perform this predictable eclecticism with skill and passion; they do care about, and have fun with, country’s touchstones. That said, a listener can anticipate each required turn, like the compulsory elements in an Olympic skating routine.

On his debut solo album, Traveller. Chris Stapleton has the double axels and triple jumps down, but he delivers each with a remarkable lack of showiness, so that each one feels like much more than an exercise. Partly — mostly, maybe — this is because of his voice, which became one of Nashville’s most beloved in the years he spent leading the bluegrass-based SteelDrivers and singing on albums by everyone from Dierks Bentley to Angaleena Presley to Vince Gill. Stapleton, who was raised in Kentucky, sings with the power of a classic Southern rocker, but modulates his rawness with a great sense of soul phrasing and a seasoned balladeer’s ability to scale down.

This decade’s endless parade of blue-eyed pretenders could learn a lot from the care Stapleton takes incorporating soul elements into a declamatory rocker like “Nobody To Blame” or a smoky love song like “Tennessee Whiskey.” Stapleton turns the latter, previously recorded in laconic versions by both David Allan Coe and George Jones, into an Otis Redding-style burner. His melismatic flights on the verses never feel showy; they flow logically from the previous moments when he’s held back.

“Tennessee Whiskey” is one of two relatively recent country favorites included on Traveller. allowing Stapleton to prove his bona fides with the genre’s songbook. (The other is the charming “Was It 26,” previously recorded by the Charlie Daniels Band, which now reads as gentle advice from the 37-year-old Stapleton to hard-partying young fans of the likes of Luke Bryan.) The other songs are all Stapleton co-writes — he’s as valued as a Music Row songwriter as he is for his umami-providing background vocals. Stapleton takes back the mournful “Whiskey and You” from Tim McGraw in a version that really feels like a bitter hangover.

Elsewhere, Stapleton artfully employs his skills as a songwriting generalist: There’s the Texas dance hall sweetness of “More of You,” a duet with the pitch-perfect harmonizer (and his wife) Morgane Stapleton; the hard rock crash of “Parachute”; the nod to Johnny Cash on “Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore” and the hat-tip to Hank Jr. on “Might As Well Get Stoned.” The images of frisky devils, fields full of stars and many empty bottles might not be shockingly original, but they appear within stories that always register as immediate and personal.

Producer Dave Cobb allows Stapleton to lay back or push forward within arrangements that don’t have any gimmicks, only great playing and plenty of space for that big voice to fill. Throughout Traveller. Stapleton presents himself as a true Southern character, a family man who can’t help but cling to his vices and a searcher whose sometimes old-fashioned dreams of home don’t prevent him from wanting to roam the modern world. Has Stapleton lived all of these stories of hard luck and wild times? I hope not, for the sake of his liver and his kids’ college funds. But in the imaginary space where country clichés become the gospel truth, he’s utterly convincing.

Diligent Pest Control – Pest Control – 3500 NW Boca Raton

    #

    3500 NW Boca Raton Blvd
    Ste 714
    Boca Raton. FL 33431
    (866) 773-8732

Part of how I put myself through college was with a part time pest control job, so I know a little more than your average homeowner. I was using another company that was average before using Diligent and the technician was friendly enough, but when I met the owner and he explained how they approach the process with environmentally friendly materials and an outside only treatment I wanted to give them a chance. I can tell you that my experience is much better with Diligent. Not only have they practically eliminated any signs of bugs in my home, they have not had to apply any treatments inside my home. We have seen a steady improvement as time has gone by as well. The owner is responsive and knowledgeable and his technicians are friendly and do their job well. While no company or person is perfect, Diligent has come as close as I can hope for in a Pest Control company and I would sincerely recommend trying Diligent for your Pest Control needs.

No more bugs thanks to quality and efficient service. If you want your home pest free make sure to contact them.

Hired company to treat back and side yard lawn, trees and plants that were healthy and bushy. Three months later, everything is dead! They came back out and said weed killer must have been applied but said they didnt do it (they were the ONLY company treating the property) Took 7 years to create tropical, lush backyard and only 3 months for Diligent to kill it! Company has no interest in taking any blame or offering me any assistance

We have responded immediately to every phone call or email you have sent to us. We do not run… Philip,

We have responded immediately to every phone call or email you have sent to us. We do not run the other way when there are issues at hand. However; in good conscience I can take responsibility for something we did not do. We understand good practices and being a small business we appreciate all of our customers, we truly do.

I do understand your frustration and it is not my intent to sound immune to your issue. I provided you the active ingredients for the product we used to give you a better understanding.

You hired us on 11/1/12 ask asked if we could provide better results than you were currently experiencing with another company. We performed one spray treatment and then a follow-up visit weeks later.

It was a spray-only application using an Imidacloprid. In February, you contacted us about some growing concerns and provided images. Based on the images I advised you I could not determine but it looked as if somebody misapplied a weed killer or overferitlized. Both products were never used by us for your treatment. If so, it would have been coded differently on your account and your costs would have been significantly more.

All of our technicians are certified and trained by the Universairty of Florida. We take pride in our service and providing the best training practices for all of our technicians.

Philip, I want to help you and it would be wonderful to make an unhappy customer happy again; however, I cannot just tell you we did something we did not do for the sake of that. You hired us to replace a company and we performed one service that included an initial treatment and a follow-up.

We haven t been doing your property for years or even 6 months. We did not monitor your property or conduct multiple treatments. It would be very difficult to pinpoint the exact issue, but like I said in our previous conversation it looks as if fertilizer was misused and/or weed killer. It could have been another company, could have been an honest mistake by the homeowner. I just know it wasn t us and not because you have an issue 5 months later after one treatment, but because we would have set up your account and your charges would have been exponentially more had we used said products such as fertilizer or a weed killer on your property. Enrolled Agent vs. CPA

    Which is right for you?

If you plan to focus your practice on tax you may want to consider a lesser known alternative to the CPA, and become an enrolled agent. The public perceives the CPA as “tax preparer” but many who enter the field of public accounting never touch a tax return. In fact, preparing taxes does not require a credential at all anybody can do it.

So, what exactly is an enrolled agent? An enrolled agent demonstrates a special competency in tax matters by passing the enrolled agent exam. Enrolled agents are admitted to practice before the IRS allowing them to do anything a CPA or attorney can do on any matter before the IRS.

While this credential is not nearly as recognizable as the CPA, enrolled agents have been around since the late 1800’s. The enrolled agent designation is the highest credential in the field of tax issued by the US Department of Treasury and the exam is far easier to pass.

    Travelsupermarket Flights Review Analysis

The Travelsupermarket flight search engine is one of the most popular booking engines for trip planning in the UK right now. They are owned by the Moneysupermarket group and serve as their prime subsidiary focused on flights, hotels, holidays, travel deals and travel guides.

The site was one of the first in the UK to adopt the Meta search model of flight finding. i.e. searching multiple airlines and travel agents from  a single user query and displaying results in one window.

They are the number 9 site as far as traffic numbers are concerned – Hitwise reports that they control around 2.36% of the UK travel market with high visibility in major search engines.

The site was previously managed by Chris Nixon, brother of the founder of the Moneysupermarket group Simon Nixon. However, Chris Nixon left in December 2010 to join Kelkoo and become managing director of its flight and travel department for Europe.

Travelsupermarket have spent large sums of money on TV advertising in past years – with high profile campaigns featuring celebrities ranging from TV dragon Peter Jones to pop duo Jedward.

In this short article we look at some of the pros and cons of Travelsupermarket flights and suggest some ways for consumers to save even more when it comes to booking low cost flight deals online.

    Pros of Travelsupermarket flights

    Comprehensive flight search

Travelsupermarket have made a name for themselves with their fast and cheap flight results. Their results cover budget airlines as well as smaller flight consolidators. Results appear fairly quickly and flight details are easy to see and nicely laid out.

    Multiple departure points

One of the most unique features of Travelsupermarket flights is that you can select up to three different departure airports for your flights. Alternate flights are shown in your search results if a cheaper route was detected from another flight route.

    Flexible dates

Travelsupermarket has a nice function where you can select to see flights up to three days before and after your chosen departure date. This handy function allows you to see cheaper deals up to 1, 2, or 3 days depending on your chosen preference.

    Cons of Travelsupermarket Flights

    Filtering is not easy

Filtering flights in not immediately easy with Travelsupermarket flights. Most flight search engines have sliders where you can narrow down flight choices by departure times, providers, airlines and other factors. You cannot do this with Travelsupermarket flights. You are just presented with a long list of different flights for your route.

    Price is not always accurate

A common problem that all Meta search engines face is the discrepancy between a flight price shown and a flight price on the actual booking site. Travelsupermarket flights are no different. The biggest annoyance for consumers is when a flight is displayed on Travelsupermarket’s site which does not exist in reality.

Not as flexible as some other search engines.

Even though travelsupermarket allows you to search up to three days before and after your chosen departure times it is still not that flexible in comparison to some of its competitors. Skyscanner for example shows flights for the entire month on popular routes and Kayak has a handy explore feature which shows the cheapest routes found by other visitors using their site.

Prices are not always the cheapest

Travelsupermarket does not always come up with the best price. It is not uncommon for another search engine to beat its price on the same day and on the same route. This boils down to the fact that different search engine’s compare different sites. One search engine may locate a flight through one of its search partners only for another search engine to miss it because they did not search that company. Other flight comparison sites that often beat Travelsupermarket are Skyscanner, Fly.com. Kayak, Mobissimo, Liligo and Dohop.

    In conclusion

Travelsupermarket has a number of pros and cons to its flight search. We recommend using it in conjunction with a number of other search engines when it comes to looking for the cheapest flights online.

We would do not recommend searching Travelsupermarket alone if you are looking for the best deals online. As we have explained above Travelsupermarket’s rivals are often better on the same flight route.

We recommend a process of comparing multiple flight comparison sites.

In fact that is why we built our search engine to make this easy for you to do.

Simply fill out 1 form on our homepage to compare up to 16 of the best flight comparison sites including, Skyscanner, Kayak, Kelkoo, Liligo, Dohop, Fly.com and many more.

We wanted to include Travelsupermarket in our search as well but unfortunately they did not want to be shown head to head with other sites offering a similar service.

Do some comparisons yourself to see…

    Richard’s Locksmith – Safes – 11 Reviews – Keys & Locksmiths

    #

I needed my locks changed quickly yesterday at my business. They came out shortly after I called and were very friendly and worked fast. Would definitely use them again!

I have actually never given a bad review. Until now. I have a 1910 Victor Safe. I live right down the street from Richards Locksmith and SAFE so I thought they would be a good option. Boy was I wrong! I stopped in first to get a price and tell them about the safe. I was told a service call was $60,00 and if they couldn t get it to open I would be charged extra to drill it open if I chose that option. When the technician came he told me he had never heard of this kind of safe. umm ok. He could not get it open using the combination. He told me it was $85.00 an HOUR to drill it open and he could not me how long that would take. I told him thanks but no thanks and I would pay him $60.00 for the service call. He told me plus tax. I said fine. He goes out to the truck and brings back a bill of $108.00, you know for the labor. What? I called the owner (Jack)and was told that was correct and he couldn t understand why I was upset. Really? The technician was here a total of 25 minutes and didn t open the safe and charged $108.00. I have lived in Coral Springs for 20 years and this is the worst experience I have ever had with a business here. I feel totally ripped off and taken advantage of, Beware.

Good work but way overpriced. If we knew how much they would charge, we would have called another company. I recommend you get a firm quote before any job to ensure you aren t overcharged and shop around.

They were very prompt and professional in answering my phone call and inquiries. Initially we only needed the lock fixed on our main entrance but then upon inspecting the new house further, realized that we needed a couple of other things done too. We also needed the lock on our shed door fixed and on our fence too. The technician was on time and only took about a half hour for everything. They also made new keys for us and made one key to match both the front entrance and the shed door. The price was reasonable too. I d highly recommend them to friends and family.

They over charge for everything. it s ridiculous. Every other store I called charged $25 less for the key I needed. I prefer to drive a little more that get ripped off by this people. they take advantage that are the only ones in coral springs to charge whatever they want.

We were able to get copies of our car key at richards locksmith when lowes wasn t able to do it. We are sticking with richards locksmith for all our lock and key needs. They have been in that same location forever.

I called them to come change the locks on my house and they came within an hour and changed all of them in less than 30 minutes! I was very impressed with the service, and professionalism.

their copies of keys actually work. which doesn t sound like a big deal except that most other places can t seem to manage it. they also come to your house and re-key locks when necessary, and do so in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. bottom line: they do what they re supposed to do, it works, and their prices are competitive.

I have an old safe, I don t know anything about safes. Aside from they are heavy! I called a few other locksmiths and was told, it s old, it s not worth the repair and to get a new one. I wanted to be sure. So I took it to Richards. Was told if the keypad needed to be replaced it could cost up to $200.00 They fixed it in a day, and only charged me $15.00. I was stunned. I couldn t believe it! I went in to pick it up and it was $15.00. They also printed me the manual for the safe. Could not be happier, they are honest and experts in their field. It s nice to do business with actual professionals. Thank you very much. See you soon!

The have prompt courteous service people. Make any kind of exotic car key too!

These guys are professionals and honest. Did a great job restoring the ignition cylinder on my car, otherwise I would have to spend a lot more money in the dealer. Also they have a wide selection of locks, safes, keys. Nice and friendly service.

Troy University – Colleges & Universities – 600 University Ave, Troy,

    #

    600 University Ave
    Troy. AL 36079
    (334) 670-0848

TROY is a great university which combines the best elements of being a worldwide university catering to the armed forces with over 37 overseas campuses with the intimate experience of attending a small rural college with an absolutely gorgeous and highly maintained campus. Troy University cares about its students, and provides one of the best college educations in the state, if not the Southeast. A degree from TROY becomes more valuable all the time as this school s excellent reputation spreads as a result of the good work of its students and the dedication of its faculty and promoters. Of course, no review of Troy University would be complete without at least a passing mention of the always exciting Troy Trojans football team. Troy s football team consistently takes on highly-ranked schools and often gives them a run for their money, sometimes even surprising their opponents and bringing home the big win. The Trojans are perennial Sun Belt Conference champions, and no autumn trip to Troy is complete without taking in the fun, accessible atmosphere of a Troy Trojans football game.

Our son has completed two years at Troy University. We are all very happy with the school. It s a small town and a quiet campus. The casual style is a good fit for our son.

Troy University is a thoroughly frustrating experience. If you re looking for a graduate program taught by clueless professors, or taught at a high school level, this is the school for you. Troy likes to sink money into shiny new buildings at the expense of their core mission – education. I have never seen a library filled with so many old books. Their collection is in dire need of updating. The administration is difficult to deal with. Everyone you talk to will give you a different answer to your question. But perhaps most impressive, the people in the office right next to the bursar s office couldn t tell me where I needed to go to pay my tuition. No, the words TROJAN CENTER did not tell me they collected money in there. Troy University exists to take students money so Dr Hawkins can pay for his place at En Soleil in Panama City Beach. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Troy University is the worst school I have ever dealt with. Their staff is completely unprofessional and they can t deal with any situation requested correctly. They lag on everything I ve requested of them. I got yelled at by my advisor the first day I went there, they didn t send me the requested documents to apply for student aid so I got charged $1,500 out of pocket for my term, and when I requested and paid for my official transcripts, I was sent unofficial even though they were paid for. The staff is completely incompetent and I recommend if anyone is considering this school. look elsewhere! Coming from Axia College and going to Kaplan University; I would rather spend a little extra on the service and professionalism you receive.

troy university is a stuck up school. they are over rated and they treat students as if they owe them. They are slow to respond to things, they dont have enough parking, they dont believe in giving students a second chance if a mistake did occur. They are rude and unprofessional. They are all about the money. the professors are not teaching the students the students are teaching themselves. Run for the hills. I would try another university before I would Troy.

    Troy University

Best dashcams: reviews and all you need to know #best #auto

Best dashcams: reviews and all you need to know

With dash cams being used more and more by motorists fearing bogus insurance claims, we’ve rated the best ones in the UK

Dashcams are one of the hottest pieces of car tech around at the moment – and one of the most useful. You’ve no doubt seen dash cam videos on YouTube, but even if you’re not interested in publicising your own driving footage, they can still be a great purchase – especially for high-mileage business drivers or lorry drivers who spend hours at a time behind the wheel.

Dashcams give drivers peace of mind in the event of a collision, providing no-quibble footage of an accident and easily proving what actually happened. This is especially handy for some cases without witnesses, where a judge would often rule in favour of a no-fault, tit-for-tat outcome. Dashcams are also vital protection against the growing number of crash-for-cash scammers.

Citroen’s new C3 comes with a built-in dashcam, but everybody else will need a separate unit. There are a few apps out there that do the same job for less money, but a purpose-built camera will offer better reliability and generally a better picture quality than those apps. They can also be left in situ and hardwired into the car so there’s no chance of forgetting to switch them on.

We put eight dash cams to the test here to find out which is best.

How to choose a dash cam

Image quality should be your primary concern. If footage is fuzzy, dark, or unclear, it won’t be admissable in court, so try and get a camera with a high resolution and if possible, a polarised lens to protect against headlamp glare in your footage.

Don’t be swayed by bargain cameras. Cheap units can be had for as little as £10, but these are often near enough useless when it comes to recording video. It’s better to spend a bit more and get a good camera that provides a clear picture.

Consider your needs carefully. Lots of cameras come with headline-grabbing features like app connectivity, WiFi, or even high-tech safety kit like lane-departure warning, but these can add to the cost. For most people, a basic camera will be just fine – that’s one where you have to plug in to a computer to view and remove the footage.

Most cameras require a micro-SD card to store more than a few minutes of footage, but don’t panic – these aren’t expensive in the slightest. A 32GB card should store several hours of HD video, and can cost as little as £10 from Amazon. We’d advise against putting in any cards smaller than 16GB though, as you may end up overwriting important footage sooner than you’d like.

How to fit a dash cam

Most dashcams come with suction mounts, like a sat-nav. Unlike a sat-nav though, the camera should be mounted out of sight – there’s no need to look at it while driving, and it could distract you. We’d recommend siting it behind the rear-view mirror, which gives the lens a great, high-up view of the road ahead.

Dashcams built-in batteries normally only last an hour or two, so it will need constant power from a USB port or 12V accessory socket. Cables for these are provided but be careful not to allow the wire to foul any controls. Rather than letting it hang down the centre of the windscreen, try routing it around the outside – you may be able to tuck the wire above the headliner before running it down the A-pillar. A little sticky tape could help matters.

Alternatively if you don’t want to lose use of your 12V power socket, there are several hard-wiring kits available for dashcams. These usually draw power from inside the fuse box, allowing the camera to power up with the ignition. Some retailers, like Halfords, will also install the dashcam for you.

    How we tested them

If you want footage to be admissible in court, clarity is key, particularly at night, in low light or with sun glare, so this was our primary test focus. We also compared build quality, ease of use and playback – both accessing footage and reviewing it.

Bonus points were awarded for useful extra features, while our final consideration was price, taken from a range of sources as we went to press.

    Verdict

Only the Nextbase 512G delivers a polarising filter for the lens, so its crystal-clear footage was unmatched on test. Transcend continued its Auto Express group test success with the 220, while Silent Witness’ SW006 made the podium for its value for money.

    1. 1. Nextbase 512G Ultra
    2. 2. Transcend DrivePro 220
    3. 3. Silent Witness SW006

First Savings Bank Northwest – Banks & Credit Unions – 201

    #

Best bank hands down. They are so helpful and professional. No standing in lines at the teller window – you sit with the bankers as they work with your transactions. Banking the way it should be done.

I think that FSBNW is great! The staff are very nice-always smiling faces-and more importantly, always willing to help. I ve had accounts for about a year and I have nothing to complain about. I definitely get the feeling of FSBNW being a community bank, and they do a lot of things to help support the Renton area. Recently they put one of those nifty ATMs that take deposits without envelopes. The building exudes professionalism and the staff definitely shows it as well.

Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Review – Is It the Perfect Travel Mouse?

by Josh Kirschner on September 01, 2010

Today, Microsoft announced the launch of the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse a full-size mouse that folds flat for portability. The Arc Touch Mouse, which measures less than 15 millimeters at its widest point, easily slides into a briefcase, purse or pocket, making it the perfect travel companion for computing on the go.

I first saw the Arc Touch Mouse at a Microsoft event back in June and received a review unit this morning. It’s a great little product and one that I definitely plan to take with me when working out of the office. While not as comfortable as my regular mouse, it is far more usable than most other travel mice I’ve tried.

Folding the Arc Touch Mouse flat requires a simple push. It turns off automatically when flattened and turns on again when popped up. A tiny magnetic snap-in Nano transceiver stores conveniently on the bottom of the mouse.

The Arc Touch Mouse features a touch scroll strip , instead of a standard scroll wheel. The scroll strip uses a capacitive sensor pad to sense the movement of your finger and has three virtual tap buttons for paging up, paging down and a user programmable middle click area.

The strip also uses haptics to provide vibrations that simulate the bumps you would feel while using a traditional scroll wheel. I liked the effect, finding it gave a very natural feeling, similar to that of a physical scroll wheel. However, the vibration also creates a clicking noise, which I could see annoying your seatmate on a flight or the person at the next table in Starbucks. Thankfully, it can easily be turned off, when necessary, through Microsoft’s IntelliPoint software.

The Arc Touch has standard left/right buttons, but no side buttons.

Microsoft claims that the two AAA batteries give the Arc Touch Mouse more than six months of battery life, and a battery life indicator lets you know when the power is running low.

The Arc Touch Mouse is available on Amazon.com for $45 .

    Non-trustworthy, ignorant, couldn t-care-less liars!

    Jetline Travel

    www.jetlinetravel.com

I m going to make this as short as possible, if possible book elsewhere!

Their Customer Service is non-existent, send them a (complaint) Fax or e-mail and you will NOT receive a reply, call them (0208 5111640 – cheaper than their 0870 numbers) and all you will get is “. give me your telephone number and we ll call you back”, they will NOT call you back! I called four times a day for almost a week, got the same response (i.e. call you back), they are a bunch of lazy immigrants (oh, and it seems everybody who works there is either a Manager or a Director, you know the type of place, where they even call the muppets Managers!).

Also, make sure your booking is 110% accurate, if people in your party decide last minute they can t go (hospital appointment), and you need to change a name on the flights/accommodation, get that big credit card out cause your really really going to need it!

All-in-all 80% of the people I spoke to were non-trustworthy, ignorant, couldn t-care-less liars! If you ve already booked and reading this, you re already bitten!

Where do you go for independent advice?

    Last updated: 19th August 2014

It’s a good idea to do some homework before renewing your health, life, home or car insurance policies. Many people get a quote from one of the free online insurance comparison websites. But are their recommendations unbiased?

We take a close look at four of Australia’s largest online insurance comparison sites to see how they work, and just how much of the market they actually help you compare. All offer health and life insurance comparisons. Three also offer car insurance.

    What we found:

    • ‘Free’ comparison sites can earn exorbitant fees per sale from the insurers.
    • These fees can make up a sizeable chunk of your total insurance premium.
    • Some comparison sites are misleading about how much of the market they compare .
    • Some sites are actually owned by the insurance companies they’re supposedly comparing.

Prefer unbiased, independent advice? Our expert insurance reports can help you.

    Show me the money

When you buy insurance through an online comparison site, the provider may be paying a commission to the site, either as a fixed percentage of the premium, or as a set fee per sale.

The comparison site may also receive trailing commissions from the insurer. They’re an additional kick back on anything from 12 months to the whole time you maintain that policy with the provider.

All the sites we looked at divulge how they’re paid, but none reveal how much. Health funds Bupa and Medibank Private have both called for more transparency in the fees earned by insurance comparison websites.

“Say you’re signing up for a $2000 policy – you don’t know that you’ve just committed $800 for that policy as a charge to the company that put that product on that site,” says Medibank’s managing director, George Savvides.

    Cagey on commissions

The comparison sites we spoke to denied commissions are linked with their product recommendations, but the potential for conflicts of interest is still pretty clear.

“Private health insurers pay aggregators commissions when they convert searches into a sale. [That’s] an incentive to encourage sales of policies that will generate higher revenue,” says Medibank’s Victoria Hanlon.

Medibank also says the commissions paid to online comparison sites increase the cost of premiums and quotes. Commissions paid to aggregators are funded from the insurers’ advertising budgets, which reportedly rose $90m between 2007 and 2012.

    Help for the little guys

The two health fund giants, Bupa and Medibank, earn a combined 60% of the health insurance pie. Online comparison sites can give smaller competitors a foot in the door because of their market clout. iSelect alone sold 20% of health insurance premiums in 2012.

iSelect’s Matthew Cuming says the site gives a voice to smaller health funds by baring some of the cost of marketing. NIB’s Mark Fitzgibbon agrees they can be a positive force: “Anything that shakes up competition and benefits consumers is good.”

But are you getting the full story?

Online comparison sites can be a little vague on facts. ASIC has previously pulled up a selection of sites for misleading conduct because they aren’t disclosing exactly how much of the market they actually compare.

They’re also selective with recommendations. Apart from Canstar, all the sites we looked at compare policies and provide quotes from a third (or less) of all health insurance providers. The numbers are even fewer for car insurance.

    Deceptive advertising

Major insurers sometimes bite back. In 2011, Bupa sought a federal court order to stop iSelect’s ads, which were offering $499 to anyone who had to serve a waiting period when switching to a new health insurance policy.

Bupa claimed this was misleading because under Australian law no one has to re-serve waiting periods when they change to an equivalent or lower level of hospital cover.

iSelect hit back saying the law didn’t apply to extras cover. Both claims were dismissed. After a court-ordered mediation, iSelect committed to a three-year accurate disclosure order.

    Who actually owns the websites?

Because they’re for-profit businesses, there’s the chance you’ll get biased advice based on the ownership structure of these supposedly ‘free’ comparison sites

Choosi.com.au. the second-most popular site after iSelect, is owned by Hollard Financial Services. It’s a major provider of life insurance and distributes seven of the insurance brands available on the site.

Compare the Market is owned by Budget Holdings Limited (BHL). BHL, in turn, owns insurance giant Auto and General, the parent company of brand names like car insurer Budget Direct .

On a shadow shop of car insurance quotes on online comparison websites, we found five out of the six top results on comparethemarket.com.au were Auto and General Insurance policies and quotes.

Sounds a little dodgy, but this may be down to market position, as the top-ranked results were the same on competitor sites iSelect and Canstar.

    What does CHOICE do?

We’re a not-for-profit organisation funded by our members – we don’t receive commissions or fees for advertising. We publish independent, expert reports on:

When we compare insurance, we do it based on value and look at the broadest possible range of products available.

    Comparison sites compared

We assessed the top four players using ASIC’s guidelines for financial comparison sites. We also used principles developed by consumer groups (including our own) for electricity comparison websites.

    We looked at:

    • Accuracy: Do they clearly disclose the basis of awards or ratings? Do they include all providers or a warning if not all providers are compared?
    • Impartiality: What kind of relationship do they have to the product providers on their site?
    • Transparency: Do they disclose links to providers including commissions, referral fees, payments for inclusion in comparisons, and payments for featured products?

    What we found

Australia’s biggest comparison site is best known for its health insurance comparisons. iSelect.com.au also sells car and life insurance, while sister site InfoChoice is used for comparing credit cards and savings accounts.

Bucks County Community College – Colleges & Universities – 1 Hillendale

    #

    1 Hillendale Rd
    Perkasie. PA 18944
    (215) 453-3020

Everyone hates on going to community college coming out of high school, but honestly going to Bucks was one of the smartest choices I ve ever made. Here s why: AFFORDABLE – I paid off each semester easily. If you live in the county, a year of college at Bucks is only going to cost you more or less 4,000 dollars. SAME PREREQS- As long as you do the research to make sure every class you take is transferable, taking your prerequisites here is the same as taking your prerequisites elsewhere. The only difference is about 10-12,000 dollars. Saving that much moolah sounds pretty damn good to me. STUDENT TO TEACHER RATIO – The student to teacher ratio is pretty small. It usually looks something like 19:1, though I m not exactly sure what the ratio truly is. Individualized attention is not hard to come across. The classes are not insanely large, especially at the Perkasie campus. GREAT PROFESSORS – I ve had some of the most awesome and involved professors at Bucks. Randolph Quinby was my favorite. he teaches Humanities courses. Take one of his classes; you won t be disappointed. CLASSES FOR FULL TIME WORKERS – There are tons of options for night classes, online classes, and hybrid classes (half online, half in school) that are designed specifically for hard working people with a busy schedule. Of these three options, I prefer night classes. They are from 6 to 9:30 at night with a break at around 7:30/8. The professors understand a busy schedule and, as long as you put genuine effort into the class, they will understand if something comes up (late night shift at work; kids sick; etc). CUTE CAMPUS – Yes, the Perkasie campus is wimpy wimpy wimpy. But it s just so. CUTE. The two buildings are located in a Giant shopping plaza. And I don t mean giant as in the size; I mean it s literally located right next to the supermarket Giant. I like it though; big campuses always intimidated me. There s a cafe called Down to Earth Cafe in the plaza where a lot of students will go before or after class. TRANSFER AGREEMENT PROGRAMS – Many of Pennsylvania s state schools have a transfer agreement program with Bucks. I know from personal experience that Penn State Abington will grant you a 1000 dollar scholarship if you graduate with your associates from Bucks and transfer to their campus. There are a ton more options too. ADVISORS – Let s be honest: advisors want you in and out of the program just as much as you want to be in and out of the program. The advisors will do their job to get you into the classes you need and help you graduate as soon as possible, and advising slots are always open. So I obviously have a slight obsession with this school, but it s only because I m sick of hearing everyone bash it! Bucks County is an amazing area in the state to live in, and the community school is a good one! (And much better than Montco, I ve heard ;]). Definitely don t rule out a community college for the sole reason that it is a community college. It s a great choice in the long run and I promise you won t regret going here. ) Cheers to Bucks Perkasie. WARNING: The fact that Bucks is a community college does not take away from the difficulty of its astronomy class. IT S A TRAP! It s not all about pretty stars. it s actually really difficult, and the professor was hardcore. There were 11 people in my astronomy class initially, and we ended up with 4 left. I was one of the last ones standing, but I barely passed with a C. There was another girl who was a straight-A senior at Kutztown University who had been putting off her science credit. She took the same class I did and she barely made it out alive as well. Don t underestimate a community college s courses.

Easy Click Travel – Poor Service, Review 584388 #miami #travel

    Unjustified cancellation of booking

Last week, I received the news on the cancellation of a reservation of two hotel rooms (for me and my family) booked 7 weeks ago on EASYCLICKTRAVEL. So, no sooner than 7 weeks after the booking. I had paid directly, using my credit card. I had paid 1360 euro. The company refunded 1260 euro, so around 100 euro (125 US Dollar) less!!

I called the information help desk line from Europe (where I live) to ask for explanation.

The operator told me that the company was unable to verify the information I had submitted. That was why the reservation had been cancelled.

I asked him which informaton could not be verified.

He told me that some information in the booking was not correct (credit card information, telephone number or address), so the verification failed.

I asked which information was not entered correctly in the booking. To check this, the operator asked me to tell him the last four digits of my credit card. They appeared to be correct.

Then he asked me to mention my address. Also this information appeared to be entered correctly by me into the booking.

Then he asked me to give my address. Also the address appeared to be entered correctly into the reservation.

I asked him why the company did not contact me by phone or mail or email, to verify the information.

    He did not know.

So I kindly asked to make a booking again for the same price (in US dollars), same hotel and same days. This appeared to be not possible. Rooms in the hotel I wanted were not offered anymore.

The reason for cancelling may be that the US dollar exchange rate dropped considerably in the past seven weeks, which may have caused losses to the company as it needed to hire the hotel rooms in Europe euro. But this is not my problem.

I did not make any error nor mistake while making the reservation. The booking seemed to be cancelled on invalid grounds (“you did not contact me to verify, nor by e-mail nor by phone nor by written mail”).

The company refused to compensate the financial loss I suffered, although I did not make any mistake.

I just feel cheated. I will never make a booking on this website anymore and I would suggest anyone NOT to rely on this company.
