E-Gov Travel Service (ETS)

The E-Gov Travel Service (ETS) is a governmentwide, web-based, world-class travel management service. This streamlined service continually applies commercial best practices to realize travel efficiencies and deliver a transparent, accountable, and sustainable service that yields exceptional customer satisfaction.

ETS has unified over 80 Executive Branch agencies to a common, secure, web-based, automated service. It eliminated over 250 disparate, non-web based and paper-driven systems; leveraged the government’s purchasing power; increased online adoption; reduced reimbursement cycle time; and significantly reduced vendor costs.

The ETS program is currently operating in its second contract period – ETS2, which includes a 3-year base period and three 4-year option periods through June 3, 2027. The legacy ETS transition will run through November 11, 2015. At that time, all customer agencies will be transitioned to ETS2.

ETS2 enables the government to further consolidate travel services, platforms, and channels, improve leverage of government travel spending, reduce waste, and increase transparency for improved accountability. This directly aligns and supports the Office of Management and Budget Memo M-12-12 regarding Promoting Efficient Spending to Support Agency Operations with respect to travel.

ETS2’s new benefits and features include:

  • Improved usability and optimized online travel planning;
  • Increased navigation and ease-of-use, enabling informed cost and sustainability decisions at point-of-sale; and
  • Strengthened operational environment, improving management by adopting commercial best practices in software development, data transparency and improved security controls.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received from easyclicktravel.com.

I booked a room at the Ramada Inn and Suites Nashville at the stadium downtown through easyclicktravel.com for a two night room,

Several weeks before my trip, I called the Ramada to confirm my reservation. The Ramada does not have me registered. After a follow up call to Easyclicktravel.com, they assured me that my reservation was booked and that sometimes the hotels will not confirm until a week or two before. I called again several times including two days before my departure. Ramada was still not confirmed, in fact, they told me that the hotel is sold out. I continued to have several exasperating talks with easyclicktravel.com assuring me that I will have a room, but still the room was not confirmed. This is a serious issue since I already paid easyclicktravel.com for this room.

Twenty-four hours before I left for my trip, I spoke to easyclicktravel.com again. They confirmed that the Ramada was indeed sold out and they have a room for me 5 miles away. They couldn t get find anything closer because it was a busy weekend and that there must be an event going on. Considering I had no car and planned to stay in downtown Nashville and walk everywhere, this is unacceptable and I would never have gone on this trip if I had to stay five miles away. I was also told on the phone by easyclicktravel.com that if they are unable confirm your hotel, easyclicktravel.com will find you a nearby location at the same star hotel or better. Five miles away is not a nearby location. Less than 24 hours before my trip, easyclicktravel.com was able to rebook my room at the Ramada.

I find this behavior in an online travel booking site completely unacceptable and cannot believe you run a business this way.

China Travel Service International (REVIEW)

First off – BE CAREFUL as there are dozens of agencies called China Travel Service so don t get confused. The company I am reviewing is China Travel Services International based in San Francisco, CA (also in Los Angeles. New York and Beijing ) and their website is www.intertrips.com (so you don t get confused).

After searching the Internet and talking to local travel agents, we decided to go with CTSI and worked with Alex Wang in the SF office.

We read some horror stories about poor quality food, hotels, airlines and high-pressure sales at factory stores so were obviously concerned when we booked, especially given CTSI was quite a bit cheaper then the other online travel agencies.

Well, we just completed a 21+ day tour from SF to Beijing, Shanghai. Xian, Guilin, Yangshuo, Hangzhou, a cruise on the Yangtze River /Three Gorges. Hong Kong and a custom side trip to Canton.

Here s are feedback on each of the important criteria:

Itinerary: The itinerary was perfectly planned, not only allowing us to visit a variety of cities/provinces, but also experiencing the broad spectrum of local cultures throughout China. We experienced the busy cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, but also relaxed in Hangzhou, Yangshuo and of course the cruise on the Yangtze River – none of which we would have enjoyed if not recommended by your company. We originally had concerns with 21 packed days of travel (esp. with young children and seniors with us) but everything down to the daily itinerary (including shows/entertainment) was perfectly orchestrated.

Food/Accommodations: This is the area we were most concerned with because of reviews on the Internet but was NEVER a problem on our tour. EVERY meal was colorfully prepared in local tradition and served in banquet style, dish after dish! Accommodations were all first class – both clean and functional and centrally located. Even the domestic and international flights were as good if not better than domestic flights in the US.

Local/National Tour guides: The local and national CTSI tour guides were what really transformed a 21-day tour into a memorable experience of a lifetime. They were ALWAYS there to educate us on the local sights and customs, assist us in every aspect of our stay, and constantly making us laugh. We especially want to thank David (Hangqing) Huang our national guide in Beijing/Xian/Guilin/Shanghai who was more like an ambassador to us than a tour guide and Andy in Guilin who “joined” our family during our stay.

Price Value: We searched every online and offline travel company specializing in China Travel (many with the similar names) but narrowed down to CTSI/Intertrips. We were a bit concerned that we would be getting less quality than other more expensive tours, but upon our return, now know we just got the best value!

Caveats: So not to paint our travel as perfect (although darn close) some things to consider. Food was high quality and plentiful (banquet style – dish after dish) but contains more oil and less salt than Chinese food we have in US. As you get closer to Hong Kong, you will find food more similar to that in US. We did take at least one break from Chinese food (25 days!!) and ate at local Mc Donalds which had a more diverse menu than US!

Shopping is great everywhere but sales people can be aggressive and be prepared to negotiate. Weather was hot and humid, but we survived.

We found the people very nice and courteous (except at markets and trains) and surprisingly very clean – more so than Chinatowns in the US.

We considered booking our own itinerary, but the cost was not only more expensive, but the language barrier and lack of experience would have been a big mistake.

    Expository Counseling Training Center is the training portion of the Expository Counseling Center. ECTC (Expository Counseling Training Center) seeks to provide online and onsite based training for Biblical Counseling. ECTC provides 5 basic biblical counseling training courses that are developed by Dr. Nicolas Ellen. Each l evel of teaching is 14 weeks in length. There are also outside class readings, Scripture memorization, make-the-connection assignments, and case studies. Tuition is $350 per Level. The 5 basic biblical counseling training courses developed by Dr. Ellen have been recognized by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and are used by an ACBC Training center (The College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas) as part of their process to move individuals into ACBC certification.

    Since the Expository Counseling Center respects and appreciates The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (also known as ACBC), the ECC provides a 6 week training to prepare individuals to take the ACBC exams (which must be passed in order for one to move into ACBC certification), and 12 hours of counseling observations for individuals pursuing ACBC certification (10 hours is required in order for one to move into ACBC certification).     In this level, students will learn the connection between systematic theology and biblical counseling. Students will evaluate the doctrine of God, Christ, Holy Spirit, Man, Sin, Salvation, Sanctification, various others doctrines and learn how genuine biblical counseling comes out of these doctrines. Students will also learn the history of the biblical counseling movement in the United States.

    In this level, students will learn the basic principles of Biblical Counseling and be able to distinguish it from secular counseling and counseling that integrates psychology and the Bible. Students will learn how the Bible has it s own framework by which we can address any and all non-organic problems from the Scriptures. This includes those issues that the world would describe as psychological or mental disorders. Students will learn how to analyze issues from a biblical framework, categorize issues through a biblical framework, and provide biblical solutions through a biblical framework.

    In this level, students will explore issues such as the fear of man, idolatrous lust, depression, divorce, separation, abuse, remarriage, death, trials, suffering, psychotropic drugs, biblical view of self esteem, dealing with the past and many other issues and learn to deal with them from a biblical perspective.

    Level Four:Marriage and Family Basic Training Course

    In this level, students will learn the foundations for marriage and family as God designed. Students will explore God’s design for marriage as well explore some basic parenting skills.

    Level Five: The Dynamics of Biblical Counseling

    In this level, students will learn the mechanics of biblical counseling. Students will observe 12 hours of biblical counseling as well as do some case studies. Students also will learn concepts of biblical analysis, categories of biblical change, phases and stages of biblical change, and categories of homework for counselees. Moreover, students will learn policies and procedures for governing a counseling ministry, how to use a personal data inventory form, how to use a consent to counsel form, how to organize and structure a counseling session as well as how to fill out a case report form after a session.

    (6 Weeks) Tuition is $150

    Students will go through each question on the ACBC Exam and learn how to answer those questions. Students will learn which resources are available to answer each question. Students will learn how to cite their sources for the answers they find from those sources provided by the training.

    Make-the-Connections and Case Studies

    In order to teach students how to analyze problems through a biblical framework and to categorize problems through a biblical framework, students will be given 50 make-the-connection assignments over the course of study. These assignments will challenge the student’s skill in connecting various characteristics to a biblical framework. Students will be assigned 30 counseling cases over the entire training period to teach them how to analyze, categorize and solve problems from a biblical framework perspective.

    50 hours of counseling supervision via Dr. Nicolas Ellen, will be provided for IABC students and for students in Phase 3 of ACBC certification. This will entail filling out case report forms and counseling logs, tape recording five of one’s counseling sessions to be listened to by Dr. Ellen for evaluation of one’s skill, discussing the dynamics of various counseling cases, and developing in biblical counseling methods through the 50 hours of supervision.

    On Marathon Day, several Rotary Club members were out soliciting donations to support Special Olympics Massachusetts. They moved thru race watchers and also manned some local parking lots with with donation cans in hand. They collected $3100 ($850 MORE than last year!) to be given to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts.

    When we introduced Rotary Club Central in 2012, it revolutionized goal tracking and planning for clubs and districts — no more filling out paper club-planning forms or passing along boxes of historical club information every time a new leader took office. Rotary Club Central offered clubs and districts a quantifiable way to begin measuring local and global impact, specifically membership initiatives, service activities, and Rotary Foundation giving. But as with any technological advancement, in a few short years, Rotary Club Central began to show its age, and Rotarians took notice. They.

    At its January 2017 meeting, the Rotary International Board of Directors adopted a new zone structure for Rotary clubs.     C-peptide tests examine how much insulin your body produces

    A C-peptide test is a blood test which is carried out to find out how much insulin your body is producing. This may be useful for determining whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes or whether you have insulin resistance.

    What is C-peptide?

    C-peptide is released at the same time as insulin.

    For each molecule of insulin produced there is a molecule of c-peptide. C-peptide does not itself influence blood sugar.

    C-peptide is a useful marker of insulin production because c-peptide tends to remain in the blood longer than insulin.

    Why is a c-peptide test done?

    A c-peptide test can be performed for any of the following reasons:

    • To distinguish whether you may have type 1 or type 2 diabetes
    • To investigate whether you have insulin resistance
    • To ascertain causes of hypoglycemia (low blood glucose levels)
    • To monitor insulin production after the removal of a tumour of the pancreas (insulinoma)

    How is the test performed?

    To measure level of c-peptide a fasting blood test is taken.

    You will be asked not to eat or drink (certain fluids) for 8 to 12 hours before the test.

    If you take blood glucose lowering medication you will likely be asked to stop taking these in the run up to the test.

    For the blood test itself, a sample of blood will be taken from your arm and it shouldn t take much more than a minute.

    Levels of c-peptide will be measured as well as the blood glucose level .

    Stimulated c-peptide test

    If the test is to diagnose either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, an injection of glucagon may be given into the arm between two blood samples to attempt to stimulate insulin production .

    C-peptide test results

    C-peptide test results are classed within 3 ranges/values.

    Normal range

    • The normal range for a c-peptide test is: 0.51 to 2.72 nanograms per millilitre (ng/mL)
    • This may also be expressed as: 0.17-0.90 nanomoles per litre (nmol/L)

    The following information serves only as a guide. Your doctor should be able to advise you as to what the test results may indicate.

    Low test result values

    Low levels of c-peptide and high blood glucose levels could be an indicator of type 1 diabetes.

    Low levels of both c-peptide and blood glucose could indicate liver disease. a severe infection or Addison s disease.

    High test result values

    High levels of c-peptide with a low level of blood glucose could be an indication of insulin resistance, either type 2 diabetes or Cushing s syndrome.

    High levels of c-peptide but low blood glucose levels may be a result of insulinoma (a tumour of the pancreas) unless glucose lowering medication has influenced the result.

    Extended auto coverage is available for new as well as used cars. Since new cars come with a factory warranty, the need for extended coverage largely depends on how long you intend to keep the vehicle. For example, most factory plans usually last three years or up to 36,000 miles. Now if you intend to keep the car for two or three years, purchasing an extended warranty may make little sense. However, if you plan on keeping the car for a long time after the factory warranty expires then it’s a good idea to extend your protection.     It’s always good to know what is covered, and what’s not covered by the Vehicle Service Contract you intend to buy. Does it cover wear and tear? What about breakdown? Some policies extend coverage to parts that wear out with time under the “wear and tear” subtitle. Again, not all extended policies have this feature. Transmission, engine, seals and gaskets, drive axle assembly and turbocharger/superchargers will usually be covered, though it is better to fully explore specific options before committing to a plan.

    Some companies require that you pay the repair and submit a receipt to the warranty provider for reimbursement. While this is not a bad idea, you may sometimes have to wait for weeks or even months before you get your money back. Then there are those that pay the repair shop directly and almost immediately. For purposes of convenience, never purchase warranties that don’t pay the shop directly.

To keep employee costs low, we have designed a “team” development system that will consist of two full-time sales people and three full-time Web developers. Of the Web developers, one position will be filled by a highly-qualified senior Web professional and two lesser-qualified, lower paid developers. All three will work full-time on separate projects provided to them by the sales people. However, the senior developer will have the duty of maintaining the same high quality level of work in the junior developers’ projects, that our clients have learned to expect from us now.

    This article describes Best Practices when using CA Service Desk Manager (SDM) Web Services.

    It is very common to see SDM affected by the usage of Web Services calls. The most common effects are:

    • Performance issues
    • SDM dying
    • SDM process memory growth (domsrvr)

    CA Service Desk Manager R12.x, R14.1

    1. Add a dedicated domsrvr to Web Services Calls

    If your site is using CA Workflow or CA Process Automation with CA SDM heavily – or any other application integrated with SDM, such as Spectrum, Nimsoft Monitor -, you should consider installing a secondary CA SDM Server and point your Web Services Application or Service Desk Integration that makes use of Web Services to the secondary CA SDM Server. Additionally, it is recommended to add a webengine/domsrvr pair for each secondary server used for this reason.

    For conventional installations, this setting is done in the SDM Administration tab, under Options Manager:

    If the option is not installed, Install it and set the new domsrvr process name to be used by Web Services. If you already have this option installed, you should Edit it and adjust the domsrvr process name. Next it is required that SDM be recycled so the change takes effect.

    Related to this topic, it is important to mention some considerations when working with SDM in AA:

    b. An alternative is to have a dedicated Application server for Web Services calls.

    c. If it is not possible to have a dedicated Application server, you should consider pointing the applications communicating with SDM via Web Services to the Background server, but preferentially to an Application server with less use/load.

  • Make use of logoff() when complete.
    After every set of Web Services calls, the Web Services client should perform a logoff() when complete. Web Services is intended to be an “on demand” resource – use what you need, then close the connection when possible, as opposed to re-using the same session id for hours at a time or leaving the session inactive. The “Web Services Session Timeout” option is a configurable option in CA SDM Options Manager.
  • Evidences of these can be found in the stdlog. In the example below, we can see a login and a logout session done by a Web Services call:

    If searching for sda in your stdlogs only shows Web Services session created it means a logoff is not being used.

    1. Each Web Services Client should use a different CA SDM Web Services Policy.
    2. Each Web Services Client or CA solution using Web Services should use a different Service Desk login.

    In each CA solution that calls CA SDM Web Services, there is a location to enter the WSDL and username. It is not recommended to use the CA SDM privileged user (i.e. Service Desk) for the integrations.

  • Support recommends to not allow Web Services Clients to search with wildcards.

    In other words, if the Web Services Client does searches (i.e. doquery or getlist), it should not allow searches with a ‘*’. If this is done against a large MDB table, CA SDM performance will be negatively affected.

    The reason for that is the Web Services query will run on top of the SDM object layer, and thus all data retrieved by the query will be loaded in the domsrvr in use. This can cause performance issues or even domsrvr to die due to reaching 2GB of size (which currently is its allocation limit, for being a 32 bit application) and dies trying to allocate more memory.

  • Avoid requesting large data sets with Web Service Method calls like “doSelect()”.

    For example, setting “maxRows” -1 to return all rows will impact CA SDM performance. Using “-1” is a not recommended. Be aware that all Web Service calls should be tested prior to being placed into production to see if there is any impact on CA SDM performance. This is especially true with Web Services calls that utilize searches or requests for lists.

    Note that the maximum number of rows retrieved by a doSelect are 250. This is by design and non-configurable to prevent performance issues to SDM.

    1. It is fairly easy to negatively impact CA SDM performance using a Web Services client. CA Support highly recommends any and all Web Services clients should be tested fully by the customer or implementer in a QA environment.
    2. The CA SDM Web Director does not work for Web Services.
      Planning how Web Services requests will be distributed across multiple CA SDM Secondary Servers is very important. One way to address this is by creating a routine which will work as a pool of Web Services connections. The routine will keep permanent connections to SDM and will distribute the calls among the available sessions, which will be recreated as needed.
    1. Before implementation, the Tomcat Memory (JVM size) should be increased to as much as 1 GB.
      Please refer to: TEC491277 – Steps to increase the JVM Heap Size for Tomcat in CA Service Desk Manager
    2. The Max Threads for Tomcat should be also be increased when using Web Services.
      By default, it is set to 75. CA Support recommends to set this value to 300 – do not change it to a value higher than this.
      Please refer to TEC598584 – How to increase Tomcat Max Threads on CA Service Desk Manager (SDM) 12.x and 14.1 .
    3. Always ensure that you are on the latest CA SDM Cumulative Patch Level if this is a new implementation.
      To verify the latest Cumulative Patch Level consult the CA Service Desk Manager Solutions Patches page at Support.ca.com.
    4. If CMDB GRLOADER is used, please bare in mind that this utility uses Web Services.
      In a heavily used CA SDM environment, it is recommended to run GRLOADER against the CA SDM Web Services Interface on a dedicated CA SDM Secondary Server.
    5. If using CA Workflow or CA Process Automation, consult the SOAP API Reference for instructions and best practices, as this uses the CA SDM Web Services API.

    Our Stairlift Recycling Mobility Scooter Recycling Scheme operates across virtually all the UK (other than North Scotland, mid-Wales, Cornwall and Devon) as we are partnered with large stairlift (sometimes called chairlift) reconditioners and installers. We provide a valuable service to the community and the environment. We remove, recondition and recycle unwanted stairlifts and mobility scooters. In most cases free of charge. The only times we would charge is if a straight stairlift is more than 7 years old and a curved stairlift is more than 3 years old. Here we would charge £95 plus VAT for the curved stairlift (chairlift) removal and £110 plus VAT for the straight stairlift removal.

    Wherever possible we will recondition and refurbish the stairlifts and mobility scooters. We then make them available for purchase to the general public. The reconditioned and refurbished stairlifts and mobility scooters are as good as new. They are generally half the price or less than purchasing them brand new.
