Our Flexible Pay Online Terms Beat the Competition

Unlike other car rental companies or third-party Web sites, Budget doesn’t lock you in after you ve prepaid for the rental. Discover how budget.com’s prepay option tops the competition !

Important Pay Online Tips

  • Keep your reservation confirmation number handy because this number is necessary for rental modifications, cancellations or refund requests.
  • Budget.com accepts the following credit cards for online payment: In the U.S. Amex, Visa, MasterCard, Discover. In Canada: Amex, Visa, MasterCard.
  • When you pick up your prepaid rental:

– You must present the same card that you used for online payment.

– All rental credentials required by the Budget location must be presented, and the name on those credentials must exactly match the name on the reservation. At a minimum, a valid driver’s license and major credit card (or debit card if accepted at your location – see rental terms and conditions) in the driver’s name is required.

– All location credit and debit card hold rules will apply. Read the terms and conditions in the online reservation process for specific hold amounts and debit card rules at your rental location. Upon paying your rental with a Debit Card, Budget will generally request an authorization hold against your account for the estimated charges of the rental but reserves the right in its sole discretion, to request extra value based on certain factors as we deem appropriate. Some exceptions may apply. THESE FUNDS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR USE.

When the rental is over we will process the reversal but the bank may take time to post it back to the account – unless you already paid toward your rental, in which case the hold will be only $100 USD. While this hold is in place, the funds will not be available for your use.

– For security reasons, if you are unable to satisfy the credential or hold requirements at the location in which you pick up your car, you will not be allowed to rent. To request a refund for the prepaid reservation, use your reservation confirmation number to retrieve your prepayment information either on budget.com or by calling 800-214-6094 7:30 AM-7:30 PM Mon Fri; 8:00 AM-6:30 PM Sat Sun CST. A $50 processing fee will apply.

  • Most reservation details may be changed without penalty before your scheduled rental pick-up time. Reservation details that may not be changed include method of prepayment, name on the reservation, and some changes to rental location (see pay online terms for details ).
  • If you cancel prior to your scheduled pick-up time, we’ll refund the full prepaid amount less a $50 processing fee.
  • If you don’t show up for your rental, we’ll refund the full prepaid amount less a $100 no-show processing fee.
  • Cancel and refund requests must be made on budget.com using the ‘cancel/request a refund’ process accessible when you view your reservation details on budget.com or by calling 800-214-6094 7:30 AM-7:30 PM Mon Fri; 8:00 AM-6:30 PM Sat Sun CST. Credits will be refunded within seven days back to the card used for prepayment.
  • You have up to 6 months after your pick-up date to request a refund.
  • Still have questions about prepaying, making changes, or canceling a prepaid reservation? Read Pay Online common questions or view our flexible pay now terms .

What do I need to set up an online travel agency?

    #online travel agency

    8 Answers

I m inclined to agree with the other 2 answers – don t do it.

    But if you insist:

    1) Your IATA licence is just a starting point. Talk to IATA about how to go about it (their website will give you contacts – last time I looked the UK was run from an office in Madrid!). It is in their interests that you understand what you are getting in to so they will walk you through what you need. You will need to post an insurance bond so you will need a business plan to given them some idea of projected turnover.

1a) Once you have your licence you can start approaching airlines to get authority to issue their tickets. You can t just issue tickets on any airline because you have an IATA licence.

1b) At the same time you might want to negotiate with the airline about what access they will provide you to consolidator fares. In fact you might want to have that in your back pocket before you apply for the IATA licence otherwise your pricing isn t going to be competitive.

1c) Agents don t earn commission any more. You need to add a fee to the fare the airline chanrges to make any money.

    2) Go to the CAA and get an ATOL – another bond and the same business plan.

    3) Find someone to build your website for you. There are a whole range of companies out there who have differing levels of expertise. Some are UK based, some are based in India, at least one is based in Germany. The cost will depend on what you want to do. Many people find the only way to make money these days is by selling ancillaries like hotel and car hire and insurance and suitcases and car parking and.

    4) Make sure your website developer can work with the GDS you choose. All the GDS have APIs but some developers only know one (although they claim to know them all). Negotiating your GDS contract is going to be interesting.

    5) Find an accounting package

    6) Find a mid office/booking management package (one developer might provide them all but you might find different ones best for your environment

    7) Arrange banking particularly wth regard to credit and debit cards. Be sure you understand how much you will pay the card companies and what your exposure to fraud is – travel is an area that fraudsters target.

    8) Get a limited company

    9) Decide on a trading name. Make sure you can secure ALL the URLs you will need – not just yourname.co.uk but yourname.org.uk yourname.com etc etc.

I m going to stop because much of what I m writing now is just about business but I ll go back to the beginning DON T DO IT. There s too much competition and not enough profit.

Where To Get The Cheapest Airline Tickets To Japan

    06/04/2013 Adam

There is a good chance that almost everyone that views this site wants to visit Japan at least once in their lifetime, if not many times more and possibly live there. What s the biggest thing stopping you from getting to Japan? Money. This rings especially true to the younger readers out there, where a budget may be nonexistent.

Cheap ticket prices aren t what they used to be (I remember round trip tickets from the U.S. for around $600-700 in 2005). I would love to be able to give away free trips to Japan to every single person who enters this site (who knows, maybe one day there will be a contest with this as a first prize).  But I figure the next best thing I can do is help you find the cheapest way to get to Japan.

So when you re heading to Japan from your home country, what website do you use to get the cheapest airfare?

    [yop_poll id= 6 ]

    Voting Closed

This list is not all inclusive as I m sure there are dozens of more airline websites, but these seem to be the major ones people use to try to get the best rates. It would be an incredible reference to everyone reading if in the comments section you could briefly include the:

    1. Website you use for cheapest tickets

    2. Country you fly out of

    3. Cost

    4. Month/Year of your flight

Any other details, strategy, or tactics you have for getting cheap tickets to Japan is highly appreciated!

It is really very helpful on long air flights. Supports the neck as well as upper back for routine airplane travelers. You can snooze in-flight without experiencing neck stiffness upon landing.

The design permits the back to stretch out as well as your neck to be supported while asleep. Being able to wrap your arms across the inflatable pillow additionally expands the shoulders. Arrive a lot more rested compared to what you will experience with other travel pillows.

If you can t remain sitting in the same posture for a long airline flight, this is certainly one of the ways to remain seated comfortably and you can change the pressure points on the back and pelvis by leaning forwar as well as allowing the back to remain straight.

It is definitely not like any pillow you ve ever experienced! Most of us have have been trying to relax with unpleasant airplane seating, hoping somebody might develop a pillow that will allow it to be comfortable to sleep. This kind of inflatable pillow is simple to pack and also carry on any type of plane. The one way valve allows for easy and quick inflating as well as deflation. The amazing design is the first of its kind to produce a comfy sleep posture while on an airplane. It works best for people from 4 foot 10 inches to 6 foot 6 inches.

Its branded style and design is among the very first to utilize the all-natural propensity of your head to lean forward to help you sleep while in comfort instead of simply waking you whenever your head drops forwards. With SkyRest you need your head to lean forward in order to lie down on the comfortable top and obtain relaxation. This is the 1st pillow which creates a genuinely comforting sleep posture when sitting on an airplane. Since it is inflatable, it is simple to bring along anywhere.

The SkyRest Travel Pillow has proven to be an incredibly handy travel partner. Compared with nearly all travel pillows, which can just be employed to help support your neck when you recline.

Instead of depending on the opportunity to recline back in the chair as with most travel pillows, it recognizes that this may not be always easily attainable. Although you may have the ability to recline, the incline might be too small to enable sleeping without having your head sliding forward along with awakening. With SkyRest, an individual leans frontward instead of backwards to rest the head. It doesn t need any kind of specific arrangement of the chair. Regardless if the chair tilts back, just how tall the seat back is or even if you have any type of headrest. It may also be situated in a number of ways and also utilized as being a table top or even desk top pillow for short naps to be able to increase your productiveness.

Since it is an inflatable device and designed to inflate as well as deflate very quickly, it may be stored in your carry-on suitcase and filled with air once you are in your chair. It is quite light-weight and may easily be shifted about with regard to passenger activity.

Allows you to get endless hours of relaxation with regards to your air flights, train or vehicle travels as well as on extended stop-overs between flights!

    Picosure Laser Tattoo Removal #picosure, #laser #tattoo #removal, #green #tattoo, #tattoo

PicoSure Laser Tattoo Removal Now Available to Phoenix Scottsdale!

The PicoSure Laser is the fastest laser in the world for tattoo removal, clearing tattoo ink in about ½ the number of treatments required by older lasers in the Arizona market (for a list of old lasers see PicoSure facts below). PicoSure is changing the tattoo removal experience with fewer sessions needed, with less pain, and at a lower price. Now is the time to remove that old tattoo!

    • • FDA approved for tattoo removal in December 2012
    • • Phoenix Skin is the only practice in Arizona to offer the PicoSure Laser and one of about 30 locations in the US. The PicoSure laser delivers energy to the tattoo ink in picoseconds, which is one hundred times faster than old technology that only delivers energy in a nanosecond.
    • • Faster laser = quicker clearing of tattoo ink.
    • • Less time is needed between treatments (PicoSure 4 weeks) versus existing lasers that require 6-8 weeks.
    • • Easily removes blue, green, orange and yellow inks, which were once considered the toughest colors to remove with existing nanosecond technology (aka the older tattoo removal lasers).
    • • Studies reveal greater than 75% overall ink clearance in only 1-2 treatments.*
    • • PicoSure is removing tattoos in about ½ the number of treatments required by older lasers on the market. Older lasers on the market aka old technology include: Q-Switched Ruby, ND YAG, RevLite, AlexELETE, Astanza, MedLite, Sinon, Palomar and Spectra.

    PicoSure Questions and Answers
    Q. Can I book my first treatment without a consult?
    A. Yes, Phoenix Skin can provide an initial complimentary consultation, then treat the tattoo immediately after the consult.

    Q. How many treatments will I need?
    A. The number of treatments depends on the size, ink color and depth of the tattoo, but since PicoSure is 100x faster than any other laser on the market, fewer sessions will be required.

    Q. Why is the price per session more expensive than other places in town?
    A. PicoSure has a couple of advantages over other tattoo removal companies: shorter timeframe between treatments and fewer treatments necessary for removal (about ½). If you do the math, the cost is less and the tattoo is removed sooner. Additionally, Phoenix Skin has no hidden charges for numbing (unlike other practices who add it to the cost of the treatment) and no office visit minimums.

    Q. I have three tattoos that fit into the “box. Can I get that price instead?
    A. No, each tattoo is priced per treatment, per individual tattoo.

    Q. Is there a discount available for multiple tattoos?
    A. Largest tattoo is regular price. 25% off for any additional tattoos (based on quote from consultation). Discount applies on all tattoos treated at the same appointment.

    Q. Can I purchase a package of treatments at a discounted rate?
    A. Phoenix Skin does not offer discount packages because the PicoSure Laser removes ink so quickly, it is difficult to estimate how many treatments will be needed.

    Q. Does PicoSure work on permanent makeup?
    A. Eyebrows only they are $150 per session to treat both eyebrows. PicoSure cannot be used on permanent eyeliner.

    Q. Does PicoSure remove red ink?
    A. The Revlite laser removes red ink more effectively than PicoSure. If you happen to have a tattoo that contains red ink, Phoenix Skin will use the PicoSure for removal, paired with the Revlite to handle the red ink at no additional cost.

    Q. Will the PicoSure treatment hurt?
    A. The treatment feels somewhat similar to getting a tattoo. Our staff can numb the area prior to the procedure if necessary for comfort. Patients may experience some redness, bruising or crusting after being treated that will quickly subside within about one week.

    Q. Does Phoenix Skin do multiple treatments on the same tattoo in a single appointment?
    A. Some practices offer multiple treatments in a single appointment, known as the R20between treatments, which means that you will be spending up to 2 hours being treated. Lastly, the time between appointments is extended to between 3 and 6 months.

    Q. Why do I have to wait 3-4 weeks between treatments?
    A. The PicoSure laser tattoo removal treatment will break up the ink pigments into smaller pieces. The time required between treatments allows your body to naturally remove them. The PicoSure difference is that those broken up ink pigments are smaller than other lasers on the market, allowing your body to more effectively remove them, thus the recommended time between treatments is shorter.

    Q. Is PicoSure used for removal of anything else?
    A. Yes, it is also effective in clearing, age spots, Café au lait, brown spots, Nevus of Ota and birthmarks. In some cases, PicoSure can also address traumatic scars. Scheduling a complimentary consultation is recommended for evaluation of the area to be treated.

    Tattoo Cover Up
Want to replace a tattoo, but are not interested in a much bigger more elaborate costly design? Let Phoenix Skin Dermatology prepare you for that tattoo cover up using the same laser tattoo removal process allows the tattoo to fade enough for a tattoo artist to easily cover it with a new tattoo! See below for tattoo removal before and after pictures and witness how the tattoos fade with each treatment.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
Laser tattoo removal is the most effective, non-invasive method of safe tattoo ink removal. The lasers used at Phoenix Skin Dermatology for tattoo removal are designed to effectively target the ink that resides just under your skin. Using different wavelengths of light to address the many different colors used in tattoos, the laser breaks down the ink particles into smaller fragments which are then removed through your body’s natural cleansing process. This cleansing process generally takes between 3 to 4 weeks to remove the maximum amount of ink pigments. Scroll down to check out the tattoo removal before and after pictures of our clients.

    What can I expect post-procedure?

You may experience mild-moderate inflammation and redness post treatment for 1-10 days. You may also see a white tissue response called “frosting” which subsides within a couple hours. Total healing time can range from 1-3 weeks. You will need to keep the area bandaged during the healing process and avoid prolonged sun exposure during the course of your treatments.

When will I see the results?

Each tattoo is very different and there are many factors to consider like depth of the ink in the skin, how your body metabolizes the ink and how many/ which colors are used. Most patients see a 10-20% reduction after each treatment.

How long do the results last?

Laser tattoo removal results are permanent.

How to Form a Michigan Nonprofit Corporation, setting up an llc

    #

How to Form a Michigan Nonprofit Corporation

Setting up an llc in michigan Setting up an llc in michigan

Most nonprofits are 501(c)(3) organizations, which means they are formed for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes and are eligible for federal and state tax exemptions. To create a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, first you need to form a Michigan nonprofit corporation. Then you apply for tax-exempt status from the IRS. Here are the details.

    Form Your Michigan Nonprofit Corporation

First, you must form a nonprofit corporation under Michigan state law.

    1. Choose who will be on the initial board of directors.

In Michigan, your nonprofit corporation must have at least three directors. You can have one or more directors on the board who are 16 or 17 years old, as long as this is stated in your articles and that number doesn t exceed 50% of the number of directors required for a quorum. The initial board of directors will play a key role in determining the purpose and goals for the organization.

    2. Choose a name for your Michigan nonprofit corporation.

The name of your nonprofit corporation cannot be the same as, or confusingly similar to, the name of another corporate name on file with the state. To see if your proposed name is available, you can search Michigan’s name database available on the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs ( LARA ) website.

    3. Prepare and file your nonprofit articles of incorporation.

You will need to create and file nonprofit articles of incorporation with the state. There is a fillinable articles form available on the LARA website. You should complete the form following the instructions provided. The articles of incorporation must include the following basic information about your nonprofit:

    • its name
    • its purpose (a general statement for all lawful activities is not sufficient)
    • whether it is organized on a stock or nonstock basis
    • whether it is a membership or directorship organization
    • the street and mailing address of the corporation s registered office
    • the name and address of the initial resident agent
    • the names and addresses of all the incorporators, and
    • its duration.

The articles form on the LARA website does not include language required by the IRS to obtain tax-exempt status. To receive 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS, you’ll need to have additional specific language in your articles, including:

    • a statement of purpose that meets IRS requirements
    • statements that your nonprofit will not engage in prohibited political or legislative activity, and
    • a dissolution of assets provision dedicating your assets to another 501(c)(3) organization upon dissolution.

Be sure to include the IRS-required language in your articles. For more information on IRS requirements for tax exemption, see IRS Publication 557, Tax-Exempt Status for Your Organization, available on the IRS website.

    4. Prepare bylaws for your Michigan nonprofit corporation.

You’ll need to prepare bylaws that comply with Michigan law and contain the rules and procedures your corporation will follow for holding meetings, electing officers and directors, and taking care of other corporate formalities required in Michigan. Your bylaws do not need to be filed with the Michigan Bureau of Commercial Services — they are your internal operating manual.

    5. Hold a meeting of your board.

Your first board meeting is usually referred to as the organizational meeting of the board. The board should take such actions as:

    • electing directors (if not named in your articles)
    • approving the bylaws
    • appointing officers
    • setting an accounting period and tax year, and
    • approving initial transactions of the corporation, such as the opening of a corporate bank account.

Be sure to keep minutes of your meeting that properly document your board s actions.

    6. Set up a corporate records binder.

You should set up a corporate records binder for your nonprofit to hold important document such as articles of incorporation, bylaws, and minutes of meetings. For more information, as well as minutes forms, consent forms, and other resolutions, see Nonprofit Meetings, Minutes Records, by Anthony Mancuso (Nolo).

Obtain Your Federal and State Tax Exemptions

Now that you have created your nonprofit corporation, you can obtain your federal and Michigan state tax exemptions. Here are the steps you must take to obtain your tax-exempt status:

    1. File your Form 1023 federal tax exemption application.

To obtain federal tax-exempt status from the IRS, you will need to complete and file IRS Form 1023, Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This long and detailed form asks for lots of information about your organization, including its history, finances, organizational structure, governance policies, operations, activities, and more. For line-by-line instructions on how to complete the Form 1023, see How to Form a Nonprofit Corporation, by Anthony Mancuso (Nolo).

Smaller nonprofits may be eligible to file Form 1023-EZ, Streamlined Application for Recognition of Exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This is a much simpler, shorter form that is filed online. Only smaller nonprofits–those with projected annual gross receipts of less than $50,000 and total assets of less than $250,000–are eligible to use the streamlined 1023-EZ application.

See the IRS website for more information on the Form 1023 and Form 1023-EZ filing requirements.

    2. Obtain your Michigan state tax exemptions.

Once you have your federal tax exemption, you are automatically exempt from Michigan state income tax. In addition, there is no longer an application process for tax exemption from Michigan sales and use tax. See the Michigan Department of Treasury for more information on state tax exemptions for nonprofits.

    3. Other state reporting and registration requirements.

Depending on your activities and the size of your organization, you may need to register with the Michigan Attorney General before doing any fundraising activities. Check with Michigan’s Attorney General website for registration rules.

    Fast Free Appliance – Free Appliance Removal #appliance #removal, #free #appliance

    #

Who Picks Up Appliances for FREE?
We got’cha covered! Fast Free Appliance Removal is building a network of used appliance store owners throughout the U.S. to help recycle unwanted refrigerators, stoves, ovens, washers and clothes dryers in their local area.

Our mutual goal is to extend the life of as many appliances as possible. Your help in keeping the usable machines away from the scrapyard is much appreciated!

Need Old Appliances Picked Up before your new ones are delivered?

Our network of Local Appliance Removal experts make it fast and easy to get rid of old refrigerators. stoves, washers. and dryers fast! Many callers like to book these services the day before or on the delivery date of their new kitchen or laundry equipment’s arrival.

This gives you time to clean up the floors and any mess that was lurking underneath. like those elusive missing socks that live behind your washing machine and long lost Tupperware lids that have been hiding under your kitchen range! Our service pros makes it easy! Simply give them a call and wave bye bye!

Most crews can pick up your old working and non working appliances and haul them away the very SAME DAY, in most cases! You have the best chance at getting on that day’s schedule if you call in the morning. This way they can fit your pick up in between deliveries and service calls.

Unwanted Appliances taking up valuable space?

Is the wife tired of trying to fit her car in the garage, while not scraping against that old, broken refrigerator?

Tired of looking at that old washer and dryer that you replaced 6 months ago that’s just sitting there gathering dust?

Simply give a call to the listed company hauling away appliances in your area. Though we currently only list a few, we will be adding more removal specialist in different areas each week!

Who recycles appliances in the most eco-friendly way possible?
Check our appliance removal directory. If our groups hauls away a working washing machine, stove, oven, clothes dryer, or refrigerator, they will be tested, cleaned and sold as a used appliances to those that don’t want, or can not afford to purchase new ones.

This helps to cover their operating expenses, while adding as little to over crowded landfills as possible.

Old, rusted and non-repairable appliances are tested to see which parts still work. Working parts are stripped and either used to repair other appliances, or sold as used parts at a price way cheaper than they cost new.

Say we hauled away a nice looking refrigerator with an expensive circuit board problem. Parts like doors, handles, crisper drawers, shelves, knobs, fans, and even light bulbs are removed and sorted to be used again.

Freon is then safely removed with a vacuum pump to a recycling container, then the remaining carcass is taken to a metal recycling facility.

Unlike most junk haulers that take everything to the junk yard as scrap to get crushed, our system keeps landfill waste to a minimum!

    Donating Appliances
Most charities do not take large appliances. Selling cheap, or giving to a friend or coworker sounds nice, until the washer, dryer, or refrigerator stops working properly next week and you are somehow to blame.

They may also need help with delivery, have a different electrical outlet than yours (on a stove or dryer) not able to pick it up for weeks and on and on! You know the old saying, “A good deed never goes unpunished”, right?

Yes, you can also sell them on places like Facebook, craigslist, and newspaper ads. though that presents it’s own set of challenges. Cleaning, measuring, writing descriptions. looking for model numbers, and taking several pictures of each appliance is rather time consuming.

Waiting for folks that are a no-show. wishing some of the rather interesting strangers (who now know where you live AND what else you have in your garage and home) hadn’t actually come over – can be rather scary! We’ve all heard the stories! Why risk it?

Free Appliance Removal Services provide jobs in your local community!

Calling Fast Free Appliance Removal to pick up your unused appliances also provides local jobs. Our process requires several people to help recycle the thousands of appliances picked up each year. These workers are trained to help unload, test, strip and clean parts, photograph, list used appliance parts online, as well as keeping the trucks and warehouses nice and tidy.

Because some crews operate 6 to 7 days a week, they can provide full-time, part-time and even weekend jobs in many cases. These extra positions can really ease the financial burden for college students, single parents, and those looking for a part time job until they find permanent employment.

Best Travel Search Engines – Save Up to 80% on Hotel

    #travel search engines
    #

    What Are Travel Search Engines?

Why use travel search engines? Many people love to travel, whether it be for vacation or a work related voyage. In the past, one would need to call a travel agent to handle the arrangements and ensure that one got the best deal possible. However, that was well before the information technology revolution. Today, there are a variety of travel sites on the internet that make the whole process of scheduling and booking a trip a much more streamlined experience.

A travel site is simply one of many web sites that allow one to book travel reservations online. These originally started as sites that facilitated flight reservations and now offer a wide variety of travel related services. These sites have become so popular that many travel agents have been pushed completely out of business,

Purchasing an airline ticket is probably the most popular activity at travel sites. Simply go to  travel search engines and put you travel dates along with the locations for the departure and arrival cities, and the system will search every available flight to present you with the best options. You can then sort the flights by price, or by a variety of custom features. For example, you can chose to exclude journeys with connecting flights or more than a certain number of connecting flights. You can also sort by specific arrival and departure times.

Since you have access to all the various available flights, you can be reasonably assured that you are getting the best pricing available. If you are flexible on your travel schedule, you can also indicate to the system that your dates are flexible, and it will greatly expand the travel window to look for the best priced flights possible. Since certain days of the week or times of the month can have a lot more demand for flights than others, this is a great way of significantly lowering your flight cost as much as possible.

Booking a flight is not the only thing you can do at these sites. Often you can book a hotel and rental car at the same time. Similar to flight scheduling, you will be presented with a list of a wide variety of options at different price points. One advantage of booking all your information at the same travel search engines is that your entire travel itinerary can be conveniently held together in the same online back office. Often it will be emailed to your inbox where it can be printed out and referred to in the future. This is a lot easier than having to keep track of reservations made with multiple companies simultaneously.

Aggregating this information has other advantages as well. For example, you can be put on an email list which reminds you that a given flight is coming up and even might give you updates on flight status. Some sites allow one to input a cell phone number to receive real time updates in transit. Thus if you were rushing in a cab to catch a flight, you might get a text in traffic saying the flight is delayed, allowing you to relax and take your time.

Another great advantage of   travel search engines is they often include an online review feature. This is where customers of that company can post their experiences. I find this particularly useful when looking for a hotel to stay at. Generally if a place is a real dump, those who made the mistake of staying there will let the entire world know at these sites. If you find good feedback with no bad reviews, often you can feel confident booking that cheap hotel will not leave you staying in an uncomfortable room.

Some travel sites offer even more services to help you get the best possible deal. Many companies have a lot of excess capacity, but do not like to advertise it. These will often make deals with travel sites to let their rooms or flights go at a really cheap rate without letting the public know that it is offering the rate. Usually this is in the form of a site that describes a place and a price without saying who offers the deal is until after the purchase is made. I have found this to be one of the best ways to get deep discounts on really nice hotels

Travel sites also can be a great place to book a variety of tours before you leave. These will often be offered at discounts when booked in advance. Often you will purchase ahead of time with a printed invoice that can be used instead of paying for the tour when you get there (the same can be done for some hotel sites). These can be quite convenient in budgeting a long vacation while minimizing the amount of travel cash you have to take.

Travel sites have seriously transformed the way people around the world book vacations. Now people have more options right at their fingertips and no longer have to wait for travel agents to do the job for them.

The World s Leader in Discount Hotel Reservations – Guaranteed Lowest

    #hotel travel.com
    #

    Frequently Ask Questions (FAQs)

    Why choose HotelTravel.com?

HotelTravel.com believes fantastic travel experiences should not be expensive. With our instant confirmation technology and global negotiating power, we consistently deliver more value and lower hotel rates than anyone else on the Internet.

That’s why we are a leader in worldwide hotel bookings and a pioneer in online customer service, providing the inside track to the best deals and discounts.

Why are HotelTravel.com rates so low?

We offer rock-bottom rates at up to 75% off and match or beat any other price. How can we do it? Simply put, HotelTravel.com has access to the best rates and room selection available on the Internet. We have negotiated directly with hundreds of travel suppliers and thousands of hotels worldwide for more than 10 years, including many privately owned hotels or smaller chains you won’t find elsewhere. And we are also experts in securing the best rates available from the world’s leading travel suppliers and International Hotel Chains. This creative business mix combines room allocations from major travel partners and direct negotiated hotel contracts, making sure you’re spoiled for choice when selecting your hotel and rate.

What happens if I make a reservation directly with the hotel?

HotelTravel.com’s outstanding value-for-money rates are exclusively available through our service. If you make reservations direct with hotels you can expect to pay much higher rates than we offer for a comparable room type.

When will my booking be confirmed?

The majority of our hotels are booked with instant confirmation. Instant Confirmation bookings are rooms that are immediately available to you via HotelTravel.com’s advanced XML technology. Your room is confirmed immediately after you have submitted your booking.

Are your hotel rates per room or per person?

All our rates are based on occupancy per room, for either 1 or 2 guests. Please make sure you enter the exact number of adults and children for each room, so rates shown will reflect your true booking requirements.

What do I need to know about child rates?

Many hotels define children from 2 to 12 years old and generally do not offer additional bedding or breakfast options. If your child requires additional bedding and/or breakfast options, please book them as an adult to ensure the correct room configuration. You will be notified of any additional costs resulting from individual hotel policies regarding children staying with parents and age range allowed. Infants are usually defined as under 2 years old and do not come under the same restrictions. Please let us know if you require a baby cot for your infant. Kindly be advised that hotels reserve the right to verify the legal age of children.

When do I need to pay for my reservation?

HotelTravel.com does not charge customers until your room has been confirmed. All charges will be noted in the confirmation email that you will receive immediately after your booking request has been confirmed.

How can I download an invoice or receipt for my hotel booking?

Once any customer has paid for their booking they can login to the HotelTravel.com ‘Members’ Area’ and then go to the ‘My Reservations’ tab. There they will see a ‘download invoice/receipt’ icon (see example below) to download a PDF file. If you would like to request a customised receipt for business travel or other reason please contact HotelTravel.com’s Customer Service Centre directly via online chat or by email.

How do I know my Credit Card information is secure?

HotelTravel.com strives to be one of the most secure Internet service providers on the planet. We are proud to have no history of past Credit Card fraud, due to our long association with VeriSign Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology that keeps your personal information secure. VeriSign’s 128-bit encryption enables you to use our service with confidence, any information you enter on our secure payment page is encrypted before it goes anywhere. In simple terms, that means no one gets to see your credit card details when you enter them for a booking. Hotel Travel (Europe) LLC is also enrolled in Trustwave’s Trusted Commerce ™ program to validate compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) mandated by all the major credit card associations including: American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide, Visa, Inc. and Visa Europe. This is the highest standard of internet security available online today.

Can I use PayPal to settle my account with HotelTravel.com?

Yes you can. HotelTravel.com has recently added PayPal to offer its customers additional ways to settle their account. The PayPal service is a fast, safe method that allows its registered members to send money without sharing financial information. Customers that select PayPal to settle their account will immediately be redirected to the PayPal payment gateway.

    What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel your booking, HotelTravel.com does not charge any cancellation fees. However, please bear in mind that your booking is subject to the policy of each individual hotel. It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with the hotel’s cancellation policy before you proceed with the booking. You will find this policy adjacent to the rates, under the ‘Conditions & More Info’ link. Once you have booked your hotel, the hotel’s cancellation policy will also be included in your confirmation email.

    1. Cancel the reservation by using the ‘Cancellation Form’ provided in our Member’s Area
    2. Cancel online via chat with a Live Agent.
    3. Cancel by calling us directly using the information provided in the Contact Us section.

If you fail to cancel your booking the day before you arrive, you may be liable for the full amount of your booking.

    No show

If, for any reason, you do not utilise your reservation and have failed to cancel it in the above manner, you may be liable for the full amount of your booking.

    Shortening your stay

If you need to shorten your stay, please be advised that customers MUST obtain a ‘shortening of stay’ confirmation in the form of official hotel documentation stating that a refund will be made for unused room nights. Once confirmation is received we will then refund your credit card for the unused room nights, unless the individual hotel’s policy requires that you be charged the full amount of your booking. You MUST cancel the unwanted room nights with us, as well as with the hotel receptionist, or you will not receive your refund, if applicable.

    Lengthening your stay

We would be delighted to assist you in extending your stay. This can be done in our Member’s Area or by contacting one of our Customer Service Agents via Live Chat.

    Duplicate Bookings

If you submit multiple bookings using a different email address and/or customer name, there is an increased chance that our booking system will process the bookings separately. If you submit multiple bookings for the same time period or overlapping time periods, you will be subject to the above Cancellation Policy for each of the bookings. HotelTravel.com is not liable for Cancellation fees incurred due to duplicate bookings.

Flying family dilemma: Lug the car seat or pay up at rental counter?

    email

    comment ( )

    NHTSA

A woman installs a child in a rear-facing car seat

Traveling parents are in a bind: They don’t want to lug a heavy car seat from home through the airport or risk it getting damaged in the cargo hold, so they opt for renting — but car rental agencies charge between $8 and $13 per car seat, per day. After a few days of renting, you can spend as much as a brand new seat costs — although picking one up safely with kids in tow upon landing would be a challenge.

    So, parents open their wallets.

Worse yet, there’s no guarantee that a rented car seat will be in safe condition. Or clean. Or come with an instruction manual on how to install it. Or even be there.

Rental car companies Avis and Hertz told NBC News they provide car seats to its customers as a convenience.

“The daily rental fee pays for a national inventory across all our locations of many more seats than are necessary to meet the demand,” said Hertz spokeswoman Paula Rivera. (The fee is waived for one seat at Hertz for AAA members.)

Laura Bryant, spokeswoman for Enterprise, which also owns Alamo and National, forwarded a copy of Enterprise’s FAQ on child safety seat rental, which says the car rental company “takes child safety and protection very seriously,” and that each seat comes attached with an installation manual for customers to use.

But some parents arrive at the car rental agency and find demand has exceeded the supply of safe, available seats.

Four car seats in a row appeared to be too dirty, flimsy or missing a safety clip when Nathaniel Kelso rented from Dollar Rent A Car after landing in Washington-Dulles in June. He ended up buying a new car seat for his four-month-old, getting a partial refund from Dollar, and selling the car seat at a loss when he got back home.

“We weren’t expecting a luxury seat, but we were expecting something made within the last few years, still serviceable, and clean,” said the 33-year-old design technologist from San Francisco. Dollar didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Stress for parents flying with kids is magnified when a critical travel safety component is missing. While child passenger safety laws vary by state. all states require car seats depending on a child’s age and weight.

Avis was out of car seats when Lori Philips landed in Orlando — despite her calling three times ahead to confirm availability. The car rental agency told her they would refund her purchase if she bought one nearby at Walmart, which would have required her driving there without her three-year-old son in a car seat.

After the 29-year-old social media manager sent a few angry tweets, Avis found a car seat. “But the damage had been done,” she said, “and I will never travel without my own car seat.” Avis didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Stories like these are why Dr. Alisa Baer, a pediatrician and nationally certified child car safety expert known as “The Car Seat Lady,” says it’s best to bring your own.

To avoid the lug factor, Baer recommends a few travel-friendly options. Wheeling devices, such as the GoGoBabyz Travelmate or Brica Roll N’ Go. can make navigating the airport easier. For forward-facing kids up to 65 lbs. the Safety 1st Go Hybrid is a 5-point harness seat that weighs 10 lbs and comes with a travel bag. While the Go can’t be used on the plane itself, it fits into an overhead bin. And for kids in boosters, Baer recommends either the Bubble Bum booster. which weighs a pound and can fit in a child’s bag, or the Safety 1st Boostapak. a child-size backpack with a built-in booster seat.

While bringing your own seat might seem like just another burden to juggle for parents already laden with multiple bags of children’s supplies, and using it on the plane will require purchasing an extra ticket for children under two, safety must be a non-negotiable, said Baer.

“It’s one thing to leave your diet at home while on vacation,” she said. “It’s another to leave your child’s car seat at home.”

Airline deals for fall travel heat up – Travel #travel #insurance

Several carriers cut fares after Southwest kicks off sale

DALLAS Consumers looking to save a few bucks on fall travel have until Thursday night and a choice of fare sales among most of the major U.S. airlines.

    Don’t miss these Travel stories

With teams using more than 100 unique apparatuses to launch globular projectiles a half-mile or more, the 27th annual World Championship Punkin Chunkin event is our pick as November’s Weird Festival of the Month.

On Tuesday Southwest Airlines Co. and its AirTran subsidiary kicked off a sale with prices from $98 to $278 per round trip, depending on distance. It covers travel from Aug. 13 through Nov. 14. By Tuesday night, the sale was matched by United, Delta, American, US Airways, JetBlue, Alaska Airlines and Virgin America.

Airlines have been boosting fares for more than a year to keep up with rising jet fuel costs. The average fare per mile for the first four months of 2012 was 6.4 percent higher than a year earlier, according to industry trade group Airlines for America. The average roundtrip domestic ticket this summer will cost $431, up 2.6 percent from summer 2011, according to Kayak.com.

Travel drops off after the busy summer vacation season, and even though airlines typically reduce flights in the fall, the round of sales shows how eager the airlines are to fill seats.

Travel experts said the sales offer good deals, even if they come after kids are back in school and during a traditionally slower period for the airlines.

“Yes, I’d jump on these,” said George Hobica, founder of travel website airfarewatchdog.com. “Looks like (airlines) need the money and travelers are balking at the higher fares they’ve been seeing.”

Southwest often introduces fall travel sales in June or July, often with prices a few bucks higher than the year before.

Show Download History List of All Files Ever Downloaded Within Mac

    #

Have you ever wanted to show a list of the entire download history of a Mac? Maybe you know you downloaded a file but you can t quite pinpoint where you got it from and the Get Info trick didn t work. Or maybe you are trying to track down a file that has been placed on a system that led to problems. Whether it s for troubleshooting, personal interest, or forensics, the following command will show you everything that you ve downloaded to a Mac regardless of the application that it came from:

How to View a List of All Files Downloaded to a Mac

This works by querying the file quarantine database of OS X, which is aimed at protecting Macs from malicious downloads. You ll use the Terminal application and sqlite for this purpose.

    • Launch Terminal from /Applications/Utilities/ and enter the following command into a single line:

    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.QuarantineEventsV* ‘select LSQuarantineDataURLString from LSQuarantineEvent’

  • Hit return to see the list of downloaded files
  • Depending on how old the Mac is and how much stuff you ve downloaded, it can take a while to query the database and dump the results. You may want to pipe the results through sort to group the downloaded list into similar items or sources, that would look like this:

/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.QuarantineEventsV* ‘select LSQuarantineDataURLString from LSQuarantineEvent’ | sort

For ease of viewing, you can also redirect the output into a text file, this command will dump the list into a file called QuarantineEventList.txt on the active users desktop:

/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.QuarantineEventsV* ‘select LSQuarantineDataURLString from LSQuarantineEvent’ >

The output lists everything that has been passed through the Quarantine Manager, which for the last several versions of Mac OS X is quite literally every item downloaded to the Mac, regardless of the application it came from. Generally, the older the Mac is and the more files have been downloaded, the larger the list, and the longer the query can take to run.

This list even works if you have file quarantine turned off for files and apps. thanks to inket for verifying that.

    Deleting the Download History List

For those who would rather not have an all-inclusive historical list of downloaded files, you can run the following command to delete the contents of the quarantine database:

    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.QuarantineEventsV* ‘delete from LSQuarantineEvent’

You can run that individually, or place it into .bash_profile or .profile to clear the database automatically when a new terminal window is launched.

This has been tested and continues to work in many versions of Mac OS X, from earlier versions through to OS X El Capitan (10.11.x+), OS X Yosemite, OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 and presumably newer. Let us know in the comments if you have success with this command and the version of OS X that you have used it with.

Thanks to Scott for the great tip, and thanks to Wiggums for the delete syntax .

I get nothing when I enter the commands above, but using the sudo addon I get

WARNING: Improper use of the sudo command could lead to data loss
or the deletion of important system files. Please double-check your
typing when using sudo. Type man sudo for more information.

To proceed, enter your password, or type Ctrl-C to abort.

I can find the QuarantineEvents and QuarantineEventsV2 files, but they all have the same two dates, March 2008 and May 2012. When I open them with textEdit it appears to contain only emails. Searching them reveals no mp3 or txt or other media files, no dmg etc.

It s a SQL database, not a txt file. Using the sudo command for the first time always issues a warning about its use.

You can turn this off with this defaults command

defaults write com.apple.LaunchServices LSQuarantine -bool NO

    hi all,
i m a completely noob with terminal, but would love to explore this a bit more, any idea on how to get date and file size?

    thanx in advance!
    .r

    January 25, 2013

This is most AWESOME. I research so much stuff, I forget what I ve downloaded. This is a great way for me to go back to files I needed and re-use them. Sweet.

This data is used by the info command on files that were downloaded, so if you delete everything the info command won t tell you where you got the file from originally.

For me, that s important. I grab example code snippets, standards docs, references, xls s of proforma biz, all manner of great downloads. Now I can find the files i downloaded and grab the latest versions.

I promise I ll be better organized next deadline driving, time constrained project. )

    January 28, 2013

The article is incorrect in its description of the scope of what the Quarantine Manager sees and records in the QuarantineEvents database(s). Most of Apple s own apps (but notably NOT the FTP-as-disk functionality of Finder) use it and so does Google Chrome, but based on a dump of the 15k records (mostly from Mail.app) on my Mac it is clear that Firefox, Thunderbird, MailMate, and NetNewsWire do not and Transmission (a BitTorrent client) seems to only use it for its self-update function. Command-line tools (e.g. curl, wget, etc.) also do not show up.

The Best Time to Travel to Europe

    Published/Revised December 12, 2012 By Terri Fogarty 6 Comments

The best time weather-wise to travel to Europe depends on what you like to do and where you are going.

Summers are hot, which is why most Europeans head for the beaches. Fall is generally rainier than in spring and winter is, well wintery.

Europe can be quite stormy in winter, but weather in northern Germany is going to be a lot colder than that in southern Italy or Greece. If you are a skier, cold weather is exactly what you want! And winter-time trips to experience the Christmas Markets are generally a bargain and January sales in Paris are fabulous. Obviously, there are fewer tourists in winter and when school is in session than the rest of the year. Be sure that there are no major shows taking place when you want to go, or hotels will be at high rates and perhaps even sold out. Your Travel agent can give you that information, as the dates change every year.

The most active time for tourism is in summer. Just like in the US, most festivals, parties and parades take place during that time. But keep in mind, crowded cities such as Rome and Florence (and anything south of them) are brutally hot in summer. But, if you are minding your budget, hotels have bargain prices in the larger cities in July and August because business people are vacationing at the resort towns along the sea, where prices are at their highest.

Spring seems to be less rainy than fall in Western Europe and the British Isles. So, I love traveling to  England. Ireland and Scotland in Spring.

As for me, I travel in Spring (April May) or Fall (September October). Airline tickets are a little less expensive than in the summer, the weather is usually fantastic and the hoards have not yet descended or have gone home.

Whenever you go, you can have a fantastic time. Just plan ahead for the weather.

We are planning a holiday for early Sept-from London (by Eurostar) to Paris and travelling down to Nice and maybe even Monaco. For a 10-day trip, can someone suggest a few places we should visit along the way?

Where shall we stay in Nice and Monaco ( 2-3 stars)? What is the best way to travel around in those 2 places?

    Thanks.

    Terri Fogarty says

    Hi Lassie,

Whether you are driving from Paris, or taking the train, a great stop-over is Dijon in Burgundy. It is a beautiful town and worth a few days visit. http://www.europeupclose.com/discover-dijon-france/

I suggest that you stay in Nice. You do not want a car when there, though. For one euro, you can take a bus to Monaco to spend the day, or to Cannes in the other direction. Nice is a lovely city with a beautiful old town. I can heartily recommend the Hotel le Grimaldi right in town. walking distance to everything. It is not expensive, even though it is a 4-star. http://www.le-grimaldi.com/ other less expensive choices can be found on http:// http://www.nice-hotels.org

I m inclined to agree with the other 2 answers – don t do it.

    But if you insist:

    Thanks.

Audience Reviews for 5 Flights Up

5 SNAPS UP – My Review of 5 Flights Up (3 1/2 Legendary Stars)

The recent success of the new Netflix series, GRACIE AND FRANK, speaks to the pleasures of watching two legendary actors clearly enjoying themselves despite the less-than-inspired packaging. The same can be said for 5 FLIGHTS UP, a hugely enjoyable if slight drama starring Oscar winners Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman as an aging married couple who decide to sell their walk-up Brooklyn apartment before they get too old to take the stairs.

Directed by Richard Loncrane (WIMBLEDON, BRIMSTONE AND TREACLE) and adapted by Charlie Peters from Jill Ciment s novel, HEROIC MEASURES, the film doesn t break new ground, but is a joy to behold due to the wonderful chemistry between its two leads. Additionally, the arduous process of buying and selling property in New York is portrayed with such fine attention to detail, that it almost plays as a ticking clock thriller. Cynthia Nixon is perfect as Keaton s niece and high-strung real estate agent. Her character drives the narrative and provides much of the humor. Although painted slightly as a villain, it s easy to identify with her in such a cutthroat climate.

The film features an odd subplot involving a terrorist suspect whose actions directly affect the asking prices of the apartments at play, but ultimately, its reason for being is more about how it reflects on our main characters. Freeman seems so relaxed and filled with humor as a man old enough to no longer care what people think about him. He and Keaton easily embody a decades-old romance, creating a totally believable relationship, complete with thorniness and unconditional devotion to each other. Truthfully, I could watch these two ask Siri questions for two hours and be completely satisfied, but they give so much more to these roles.

Brief flashbacks fill in the origins of their romance, setting up a sexual tension between the two that carries through to their elderly counterparts. Corey Jackson and Claire van der Boom not only have the cadences down of Freeman and Keaton, but they also match their chemistry in such an unfussy manner.

Granted, this is a low stakes drama, with ailing dogs and bidding wars replacing the usual explosions seen in most multiplexes. My quibbles with this film are minor. David Newman s score feels too much like Michael Gore s TERMS OF ENDEARMENT theme, and I m convinced it was used as temp music and a soundalike was born. It s still hummable and matches the warm visuals provided by GAME OF THRONES cinematographer, Jonathan Freeman.

A big plus is the work of Production Designer Brian Morris, who won the Oscar for EVITA. His sets are credible for Brooklyn and Manhattan, never feeling too big, and filled with details that show a long life lived together. Whereas most films with well-heeled, elderly leads would have glossy, shiny sets, Morris revels in the clutter and messiness.

The demographic for this film definitely skews older, but any young hipster planning on acquiring property could learn how not to behave by watching this film. The open house scenes feel so well-observed, with self-absorption and rudeness being the main course for the batch of buyers. One couple hilariously bring in their dog, who they refuse anyone to touch since it s going through training. Another obnoxiously dismiss the old lady feel of the apartment right in front of its owners. Ahh New York, where at least they stab you in the front!

5 FLIGHTS UP doesn t reinvent cinema. It s a small, loving slice of life story made enormously satisfying by the strength of two actors who have spent decades making us all feel at home. It s not often you see two people relishing sparring together and pulling off such expertly-executed grace notes. Sometimes, that s enough.

Flying family dilemma: Lug the car seat or pay up at rental counter?
