Whether you have one, two, three days or more, Amsterdam has plenty to offer and more than enough to keep you entertained. These are our recommended itineraries to give you the best possible overview of the city.

Amsterdam canal cruises

A fleet of about 200 vessels offer a waterborne variety of services and entertainment available on shore. In 2014, almost a quarter of all canal cruise boats were electrically powered. Clean and silent, these boats are ideal for tourists who want to record their cruise on video. No engine noise or tremble will pollute their recordings.

Bike tours run throughout the year with an option to combine a coutryside tour in the summer. Good Amsterdam tips for people who like active relaxation. The daily bike tour goes through the city and countryside visiting sites like a windmill and a cheese farm/clog factory.

Explore Jewish Amsterdam

Jewish population, its culture and religion was since the beginning of the 17th Century an important element of life in Amsterdam. Explore jewish history museum. synagogues, restaurants and the well known Anne Frank house.

Timing your visit

The peak of the tourist season is July and August, when the weather is the finest. Weather, however, is never really extreme at any time of year, and if you’re one of the growing numbers who favor off-season travel, you’ll find the city every bit as attractive during these months.

Things to avoid

General knowledge of what to avoid in Amsterdam, concerns the car driving, bicycle lanes, public transportation and visitor’s safety, as well as smoking at public areas and other Amsterdam tips.

Things to do in Amsterdam with children

The variaty of attractions kids would enjoy is enormous. Whether you are traveling with young children or nearly-grownups you will find fun, crazy, exciting and fascinating things to do all over the city of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Holland Pass , iAmsterdam Card and Museumkaart

As admissions to museums and public transport tickets might represent an important cost during your visit to Amsterdam, three different discount cards aim at lowering these expenses. Amsterdam Holland Pass offers free transfer from and to the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, free tickets to most important museums (including Rijksmuseum), discounts on many attractions and 24-hours public transport ticket. iAmsterdam card offers free entrance to several museums (but not Rijksmuseum) and city attractions, 25% discount on selected restaurants and a free public transport ticket in Amsterdam (but not transportation from and to the airport) for a limited period of 1 to 3 days. Museumkaart opens the doors to 34 museums in Amsterdam (including Rijksmuseum) and 400 museums in the Netherlands for a period of one year.

Amsterdam tourist information office

Local tourist office is a one of the great information sources that dwarfs many countries offerings, especially what is up in Amsterdam and useful Amsterdam tips. They however charge a small fee for the room reservations.

Sending your postcards

Most of the shops with cards and souvenirs also carry the post stamps. Postal boxes are in colour red or orange (the new ones). The post is collected every day at 6PM, except for Saturday. If you send your cards abroad, especially overseas, the quickest way is the priority mail. Cards and letters sent with a priority mail are usually delivered within couple of days. Using the priority mail, do not forget to put the blue priority mail label on your card or letter. As the mail service is largely automated, writing Priority or Air Mail will not do the trick, and your post will be delayed.

Central Post Office

If you are sending some letters overseas and you are not sure how many stamps to put on, or you just want to send a small parcel, the Central Post Office is your place. In addition, telephone cards, useful stationary and money change, although the specialized places in town will give you a better rate. The address is Singel 250 (at the corner of Radhuisstraat).

Money and currency

In Amsterdam, as well as in all the Netherlands and many other countries of European Community the accepted currency is Euro (EUR, ), no other currencies are commonly accepted, so you will have to change your dollars, sterling, yens, etc to Euros. Credit cards are widely accepted too, though in some small shops or hotels, there might an extra charge (2-6%) if you pay by a credit card, passport may be required. Generally, the most preferred payment method is Euro cash with the banknotes up to 50 Euro bill.

Using the telephone

Public telephone in Amsterdam can be found on streets all over the city, at railway stations, post offices and some bars. Using the phone is quite straightforward, just when you have the right telephone card. See where you find the phones, where to get the phone-cards, places you can use a credit card or call-direct cards, learn about mobiles and calling from the hotel and other Amsterdam tips.

Safety

Amsterdam is a safe city, and there is nothing to fear when walking in any part of the city. However, don’t leave your belongings unattended. When you’re in a coffee shop. bar or restaurant. keep your bag near to you – under the table, between your legs. As in every larger city, beware of pickpockets. Some residential surburbs (outside the city) have a bad reputation at night.

Dutch language

Dutch is the national language of Holland. However, English is spoken by everyone in Amsterdam. In addition, many Dutch people speak German and French. Dutch is the mother tongue of well over 21 million Dutch people and Flemish people (Dutch- speaking nationals of Belgium). Find a here few Dutch keys phrases and other Amsterdam tips.

“A friend who is a maven in finding outstanding resources, recommended Janice and Custom College Visits as we began the daunting college selection process. We worked with Janice on two fronts; to help create a list of colleges and to set-up meaningful colleges visits. The college visits were also a lot of fun for us as a family and very informative on so many levels. More importantly Janice helped make the college selection process manageable, not so daunting after all, and we felt no stone was left unturned in this important decision.

Tracy P. Parent of a New York City high school Senior

Thank you so much for planning such a wondrous experience for our son. The careful attention to detail was evident at every turn. Custom College Visits planning effort provided an appropriate path of discovery for our son and for us.

Michael C. New Jersey parent of a high school Junior

Hi Janice, Our trip was a thoroughly enjoyable family adventure! Thank you so much for the unique opportunities that you created for our daughter at each college. Meeting with a student at Harvard, was probably the most informative way to start the entire trip. She devoted a lot of time (in the rain) providing real college life details. She swiped us into dining halls, dorms & buildings that we might not have seen otherwise. The sophomore session at Princeton was wonderful! Thank you so much for everything that you did! We really were able to get the most out of each campus visit! Best, Julie

Julie, Parent of a high school Junior in Southern California

I found working with Custom College Visits a very positive experience. They were able to pinpoint colleges that were best suited for my daughter and the travel plans were well organized. In addition, they were able to set up an interview with a member of a college color guard, as my daughter had expressed interest in going to a school that had a color guard. I am very pleased with my experience with Custom College Visits, and would recommend them highly.

Mark L. Parent of high school junior in Northern California

Lili got accepted into her first choice school today (early decision): Boston University! She is thrilled beyond belief and relieved as well. We could not have done it without your help, it was invaluable. I think the High School Honors program she did there was probably very helpful and we would not have know about it without your forwarding the information to us. You rock! So, I am tipping my hat today to both you and Lili!

Kim T. Parent of high school senior in Kansas

I am happy to tell you that Nivi has been accepted early decision to Brown University. She is the first ivy leaguer in our family and we couldn’t be more proud! Her decision to apply was made easier because of the excellent experience she had during her customized tour via your company so thank you so much! We will be sure to recommend you to our friends here..

Gayathri S. Parent of high school senior Chennai, India

Thank you again for being so good at what you do. Our trip to the US was a huge success. I was on the verge of cancelling the trip but knew I couldn’t let my son down. That I even found you on the internet was a direct answer to my prayer for a miracle. The itinerary worked very well. I knew I was in good hands even before I boarded the plane to the U.S. and your attention to detail far exceeded my expectation.

Egbe O. Parent of international high school student

We had a wonderful trip to Philadelphia and Boston thanks to Janice Caine of Custom College Visits. She worked out an itinerary from start to finish. We visited 9 schools and it was as smooth as possible. Janice worked out tours and information sessions as well as meetings with tennis coaches. We have boy/girl twins and both were happy which is not an easy achievement. Not only did Janice work out the schedule but she recommended great schools in both towns. We would highly recommend her.

Phil S. Parent of high school students SF Bay Area

“Thank you SO MUCH for your involvement in the Splash Parents’ Program this weekend! I am just reviewing the feedback forms, and your presentation received rave reviews across the board; many parents cited it as the highlight of the program for them! Some verbatim quotes include: ‘The Planning and Preparing for College Visits was a great eye opener;’ Thank you for all the effort, energy, and enthusiasm you put into making the event such a success.”

Marisa M. Coordinator, Splash Parents’ Program Stanford University

Our college process was two-fold. It began with getting a jump start on the standardized testing, and not waiting until spring of junior year to focus. I believe our outcome was successful because we had a well-managed plan helped along by an expert, Janice Caine, of Custom College Visits.

Lisa L. Parent of high school students SF Bay Area

Happy New Year! Wanted to let you know that Charlie was accepted to Johns Hopkins Early Decision! Great news and very exciting all around. Thank you for all your help.

Beth A. Parent of a high school senior. Massachusetts

I broke my leg while playing cricket with my friends in USA. I bought a Long term International plan similar to Major medical insurance plans. The insurance company declined the claim assuming the benefit will cover under only Sports rider where as I played cricket only for fun not participated in any championship. Then Bharati Patel found out that point and helped us in processing the claim.

I am writing this review to convey my special thanks for the excellent customer service provided by the agents of VisitorsInsurance.com. I was asked to provide insurance for a group of 20 people including US & Non US Citizens. I contacted lot of agents, out of which Visitors insurance agent was able to understand my requirements and provided detailed quotation with benefits quick and thorough.

First of all, thank you very much for providing a valuable service for me, and my family. The first experience we encountered was about 15 years ago when insurance company declined to cover my wife’s medical expenses due to lapse in communication between hospital servicing provider and insurance company. Then your Customer service agent responded to our request and made sure that the issue was resolved.

My parents visited us few years back. And my mother went in a coma, and she was in the hospital for a long time and after that she had to be transferred via Air-ambulance. Mr. Ramesh Patel help me to file a claim and insurance company paid all the medical bills. Ramesh saved me from a big financial responsibility. I will always refer to their websites www.VisitotsInsurance.com to all my friends & relatives.

Rome in a nutshell: Rome travel guide for first-time visitors. #flight

Rome in a nutshell

Ratings: 5 / 5 |

Rome is without doubt one the most beautiful cities in the world; every year millions of tourists come from around the world to admire the treasures and masterpieces of Roman art and architecture .

But a trip to the Eternal City can be eternally confusing for first-time visitors. This guide will make it easier to uncover Rome. offering lots of practical advice that will help you discover and enjoy the city in all its glory .

1. Planning your travel in Rome

Because Rome is such a huge tourist draw, choose the date for your trip carefully. The best times of the year to visit are April, May, and late September through October. In the depths of summer, the heat and the crowds make the city nearly unbearable. August in particular should be avoided because this is the month that the entire country of Italy seems to go on vacation. Traveling too late or too early in the year can also be risky because the opening hours for many attractions are shorter, and some are closed completely.

Airfares typically drop quite a bit when “shoulder season” begins in the early autumn, making this the optimal time to visit in my book. The days are still warm, the nights are slightly cool, and the tour groups and student mobs have mostly disappeared.

If you can plan to stay as long as a week, you won’t run out of things to do and you’ll still feel like you’re leaving too soon. But if your time is limited, allow at least four days to see all of Rome ‘s major attractions. If you try to cram the entire city into a two-day span and do nothing but run from place to place furiously snapping pictures, you’ll only be cheating yourself. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day and it can’t be seen in one, either.

2. Arriving in Rome

Rome ‘s Fiumicino airport is 19 miles outside of the city. A train station is located inside and you can travel straight to Station Termini near the center of town for about $12 per person, but you’ll then need to find a way to get to your hotel. If you’re carrying a lot of luggage or just want to make things easier on yourself, take a cab or have your hotel arrange to have a hired car pick you up. Either option will cost around $50 but the no-stress factor makes it worth the extra money. Renting your own car is always an option, but even if you’re planning to tour other parts of Italy I wouldn’t advise driving in or near Rome unless you have nerves of steel and the skills and reflexes of a professional racecar driver.

3. Sleeping in Rome

To plunge fully into the essence of Rome, I highly recommend staying in a hotel where you can simply walk out your door and into the heart of the city. Of course, the closer to the attractions you are the more you’ll pay, but trust me, it’s worth it. Before you make a reservation, look at a map of Rome and confine yourself to hotels that are east of the Tiber River and west of Station Termini. Also be aware that distances on a map might not be as close as they appear ; I once stayed at a hotel in the fashionable Via Veneto area thinking that it would be fairly close to all the major attractions, but in reality it took nearly half an hour to reach anything at all from there on foot despite the fact that it looked oh-so-close on paper.

The most vibrant area to stay in is the half-mile stretch between Piazza Navona and Piazza Barberini. Some rooms here are pricey but you’ll also find plenty of small family-run hotels nearby. Guidebooks are fine for gathering ideas, but hit the Internet to get the best deals. Or if you prefer, book a hotel directly with ItalyGuides.it and you’ll contribute to publishing future guides like this one.

4. Dining in Rome

Going hungry is one thing no traveler should ever worry about while in Rome; the city is literally overrun with good places to eat. The busy area just south of the Spanish Steps is full of them, and the maze of intersecting side streets tucked between Via del Corso and Piazza Navona contains dozens as well. Most have outdoor seating and offer similar menus containing pasta, pizza, veal, chicken and a few seafood dishes. The food is typically simple, fresh and delicious, and even the restaurants that seem to be tourist traps will still feed you well. If you have a tough time choosing, your best bet is to simply decide what you want to look at while you’re dining and pick a restaurant based on that. For instance, the Piazza della Rotonda contains several cafés which face the Pantheon. and Piazza Navona is completely circled by restaurants which offer views of its numerous fountains.

For the younger folks we suggest an evening sipping beer in “Piazza di Campo dei Fiori ” near the Pantheon, or in picturesque Trastevere. typical hangout zone for young Romans.

A few dining tips; first, Rome is one of the cities where a restaurant’s house wine is usually excellent. Second, although I recommend learning and using at least a few Italians phrases, almost every waiter I’ve ever encountered in Rome speaks English. I’ve even heard Germans and other Europeans communicating with Italian waiters in English because it’s the more common language.

Some useful phrases for dining are. “Scusi, vorremmo ordinare”. which means “Excuse me, we’d like to order” ; or you can ask for the cheque by saying “Il conto per favore” ; and if the food was good and the waiters attentive, then don’t forget to leave a small tip. Remember also that, especially during summer, Roman restaurants will be open until well after ten in the evening.

5. Exploring Rome

Take out that handy map of Rome again. Now draw a diamond shape with the Spanish Steps at the top, Station Termini to the right, Aventine Hill at the bottom and Piazza Navona to the left. 75-percent of your sightseeing will probably take place within this area, and even though it doesn’t seem that big on the map you’ll need at least two days to see everything within the diamond and three would be better; some activities, such as touring the ruins of ancient Rome (including the Colosseum) could easily occupy an entire day.

Several notable sights lie outside the diamond shape, including the Vatican (another full-day destination), Castel Sant’Angelo and the Villa Borghese. Rome’s subway system can come in handy when you’re traveling to these locations (look for the big red M at the entrance to each station) and a one-way ticket costs less than a dollar but there are also tourist tickets called BIT or CIS good for unlimited rides. BIT “Biglietto Turistico Integrato” is a 3-day ticket, valid until midnight of the third day on which the ticket is validated, the CIS “Carta Integrata Settimanale” is a weekly one.

Both BIT and CIS grant you unlimited rides on Atac or Cotral buses, subways, and some local trains. Tickets can be sold by tabacchi (tobacconists), which are housed in buildings with bold black T’s on white or dark blue signs.

There is also a ticket called “Roma Pass ” that offers you transport and two museums free of charge as well as reductions for all other museums and major events in Rome for a 3-day pass. The “Roma Pass ” is available in all museums and the Tourist Information Points.

Rome is a city that is best savored slowly, like a glass of robust red wine. Allow yourself the chance to see it properly by formulating a touring plan before you arrive. Choose one small section of the city to explore each day, leaving yourself ample time to lounge over a cup of cappuccino at an outdoor café or a scoop of gelato at one of the dozens of ice cream shops you’ll find.

Another hint is to save the attractions closest to your hotel for last ; you may be tempted to do just the opposite, but these will be the easiest sights to visit if time starts to run short.

If the worst case scenario happens and you’re unable to see everything in one trip, just toss a coin into Trevi fountain before you leave and legend has it that you’ll be guaranteed another visit in the future.

You must enable java-script to continue.

Hey guys. My husband and I are half way there. We recently got his EAD and SS card so I figured I would share our experiences thus far. Please ask us any questions you want because reading this site was a HUGE help for us.

8/29/2015 – Mailed our AOS Packet to the Chicago Lockbox for packages requiring a signature

8/31/2015 – USPS tracking confirmed Delivery in hindsight I wouldn t of paid extra for faster mailing

9/8/2015 – Email confirmation of package receipt

9/14/15 – Received paper receipts by mail. Priority date Sept. 1st.

9/18/15 – Received Biometrics appointment notification by mail. Date 9/28

9/21/15 – Completed Biometrics Walk In appointment at the Jamaica, Queens Application Support Center. Came at 1:30pm and the place was pretty empty. Security guard was firm but didn t give us any real problem. He had to check with his supervisor to let us go.

For a month we received no news and no updates. We called USCIS and they said that was completely normal not to have any updates in this period and for us to expect the EAD w/i 75 days of our priority date.

10/30/2015 – EAD/ Advanced Parole approved!

11/4/2015 Online update EAD mailed

11/7/2015 – Received EAD in the mail

11/9/2015 – Brought EAD card and Passport to Social Security office in Mineola, NY to apply for SS card Free

11/18/2015 – Received Social Security Card in the mail

11/19/2015 – Took EAD card, Social Security Card, Passport and Bank Cards to DMV to apply for learner s permit. Approved.

o Attach a copy of i-94, passport with all biographical data pages and visa pages copied.

Attach copy of marriage certificate which is the basis of the i-485

Form G-1145 e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance. Put this form as the first page in the i-485 folder.

Form I-765 Application for Employment Authorization no additional fee if filed together

Form – 131 Advanced Parole

Include 2 passport style photos of the Beneficiary. label and place in baggy as before

Form I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record separate fee paid to the civil surgeon. We paid around $130

For the medical examination. Look up all the age appropriate vaccinations that you will need. And then go to a free clinic or community sponsored clinic if you don t have insurance and get all those vaccinations or ask for a TITERS test which will prove that you already received those vaccinations and are immune. If your childhood copy is available bring it. Ask for a printed copy of the lab reports and vaccination record of all vaccinations you get. A copy of the report should be free or minimal cost. Dont say that you need the vaccinations for immigration purposes because insurance and free clinics are not allowed to provide that service just for immigration. Bring all of these records to your medical examination appointment because if you do not have these records they WILL CHARGE YOU EXTRA to do these test. A LOT EXTRA. I recommend starting the vaccination record process about 3 months before you plan to file.

Good luck guys. We are from Long Island so our interview probably won t be for a few months. Will update you about our interview.

WSDOT – Washington State Ferries Visitors Center – Traveling to Canada

Traveling to Canada

It’s a beautiful journey aboard a Washington State Ferry as your car ferry sails from Anacortes through the San Juan Islands to Sidney, B.C. on Vancouver Island. Visitors can enjoy Butchart Gardens, with its hundreds of trees and masses of colorful flowers and shrubs. Take double decker buses on a sight-seeing trip from downtown Victoria. Sidney is just 17 miles from Victoria, a one-of-a-kind city, capital of British Columbia and a blend of English and Canadian architecture, flavor and charm. This 2-3 hour cruise provides beautiful scenery, picture opportunities and views of island living.

WSF recommends making vehicle reservations

If you are traveling by vehicle between Anacortes and Sidney, B.C. or between the San Juan Islands and Sidney, B.C. you may make a reservation with us online or by phone .  No deposit is taken when making a reservation, but an American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa, is taken to confirm your reservation. The full fare will be paid when you arrive at the terminal. You will receive an email confirmation of your reservation after making an online or phone reservation.

There is no service between Anacortes and Sidney B.C. during the Winter Schedule.

Please note: A reservation is required for customers wishing to travel from Lopez, Shaw, or Orcas, to Friday Harbor as proof of payment/travel to catch the international sailing to Sidney B.C.

Customers  that choose not to make a reservation to Canada from the San Juan Islands will be required to pay a vehicle/driver inter-island fare to continue to Friday Harbor.

Identification is a requirement

U.S. and Canadian citizens 16 years of age and older traveling to or from Sidney BC  must have  one of the following designated documents: passport, passport card, enhanced driver’s license (EDL), or “trusted traveler” document such as a Nexus Card. Travelers must have required travel documents such as passports and visas if necessary, ready and in hand at the tollbooth. Passengers must arrive at least 60 min. prior to the scheduled departure in order to facilitate documentation screening at the tollbooth or risk missing the sailing.

The EDL is available from the  Washington State Department of Licensing  and in many other states. Please check your local department of licensing for more information.

Children traveling to Canada

U.S. and Canadian citizens who are 15 years old or younger are allowed to travel with their birth certificate, as are teens between the ages of 16-18 if they are a part of an adult supervised school, religious, cultural or athletic group.

If both birth parents are not traveling, you must have written authorization from the parent(s) along with a telephone number where they can be reached to verify the authorization or proof of custody. Failure to provide such evidence may make you inadmissible to enter Canada.

Passenger-Only Ferry Service

  • Victoria Clipper. owned by Clipper Navigation, sails from Seattle to Victoria and offers reservations for passengers and year-round service. Reservations are accepted.

Automobile Ferry Service

WSF has non-peak season rates that are significantly less than the peak season rates (peak season is May 1-Sept. 30). See our fares brochure  (pdf 516 kb) to compare rates. The non-peak season is a great time to travel to Victoria. Lower rates for accommodations are often available, so early holiday shopping or a quiet late-autumn escape can be affordable. WSF does not sail to Sidney during the winter.

  • BC Ferries sails from Vancouver, B.C. through the Gulf Islands to Swartz Bay, 20 miles north of Victoria. There are several departures throughout the day and reservations are accepted.
  • Black Ball Ferry Line travels from Port Angeles, WA to downtown Victoria, B.C. This routes links the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island. Reservations are accepted.

    Transit

The stop closest to the terminal is the one labeled “Fifth at Weiler.”

Travelers heading to Victoria should be instructed to cross the street, as the bus stop on the terminal side is for BC Ferries-bound traffic (i.e. Vancouver). Cost per ride is $2.50 for all passengers, however, children under 5 are free.

The bus system accepts only Canadian currency and requires exact change. Bus drivers do not carry change. Sidney has many banks and ATM machines along its main street so people can also walk to Beacon Avenue to change currency when they arrive.

    Helpful information

If you’ve ever had a felony

Foreign nationals with a single minor crime conviction (DUI, shoplifting, etc.) may apply to be given a one-time Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) and will be allowed to go to Canada. They will not be afforded this a second time. If they have two or more convictions of minor crimes they will not be allowed into Canada.

If they wish to enter Canada again, they will have to go to a consulate (one is located in Seattle) where they pay a fee to be “rehabilitated” and then they can go to Canada. The cost for this is $200 for a minor crime such as a DUI or shoplifting. It is $1,000 if a more serious conviction of a crime. NOTE: The person with the minor crime conviction must wait five years to apply for the rehabilitation fee.

A Permanent Resident or a holder of the immigration “green card” needs to present a valid card at the border.

What do I need to bring my pet across the border?

Information on importing domestic dogs and cats is accessible from the “Animals” section of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) website.

Visitors Insurance Reviews. Buy visitors insurance with confidence for your relatives

    #travel insurance reviews

Approved.

Big things we worried about and what we did.

My husband came to the US on a B1/2 visa and he overstayed by 10 years. During that time he did work without authorization, got a Tax Identification number and filed taxes 2 of those years, and actually received a return. haha. On the forms we were truthful and did admit that he worked and did put down where he worked. So far so good and we haven t had any problems. We havent had our interview yet.

FOLDER 1- LABEL I-130 AND WRITE NAMES ON IT

Form I-130 – Petition for Alien Relative

o Attach copy of petitioner s passport me, the wife

o Attach copy of marriage certificate

o Attach 1 passport photo of beneficiary and 1 passport photo of petitioner, write the name in PENCIL on back of photos and place each in a separate sandwich bag. I wrote in black marker the name of the person and what form picture belonged to on the sandwich bag.

o Attach Form G325A for Beneficiary and Form G325A for Petitioner. G325A.A.A.A.A. make sure it ends in A :

o Submit proof of bona fide marriage

We submitted APARTMENT LEASE and I made sure my landlord added my husband to the lease although she was only given financial information about myself. Be firm and just tell them its important. you don t have to explain yourself. Most will comply.

    – Photocopy of health insurance card which had my husbands name on it.

-Photocopy of credit cards that had my husbands name on it. Discovercard and JCpenney will send you a second card if you add them as an authorized user. So on the same paper we copied my husbands card and my card which had the same number on it.

    – Photocopy of joint bank statement which showed both of our names and address. Wells Fargo will open a bank account for someone without a SSN. I made sure to make deposits in his account from my bank account and pay some of our bills from his account to show a paper trail.

    – Photocopy of about 30 pictures of us together in different situations wedding, pictures of him and my mom, pictures of us doing a backyard project, pictures of him and my best friend. if you don t have a lot of pictures just start taking pictures randomly together and write a short blurb describing the pictures.

    – Place all supporting documents in a manilla envelope and label Proof of Bona Fide Marriage. Put in i-130 folder

    FOLDER 2

Form I-864 – Affidavit of support under section 213A – Make sure to include a photocopy of your ENTIRE tax return for most recent two years INCLUDING all of your W-2 or 1090 s. Since my salary changed drastically from last year to the current year I also included copies of my last 6 months pay stubs.

    FOLDER 3

Form I-485 – Adjustment of Status

o Medical examination report must be included in i-485

o Attach copy of birth certificate

o 2 passport size photos of the beneficiary. Follow the same instructions for the previous photos.

o Attach a copy of i-94, passport with all biographical data pages and visa pages copied.

Visitor Insurance for Visitors in the United States

Get Travel Medical Insurance if Visiting the United States

Are you planning a trip to the United States? Maybe you are a parent of a student studying abroad or want to move to the United States. No matter what your reason is, our Visit USA-HealthCare visitor insurance can offer you the coverage you’re looking for when visiting the United States. Nationalized or government sponsored health plans rarely provide adequate coverage for visitors for injuries or illnesses that occur in the United States, which is why it’s important to get travel medical insurance

The Importance of Visitor Medical Insurance

Every year, thousands of international visitors and immigrants to the U.S. need emergency medical treatment and do not have the new immigrant insurance or visitor insurance to cover the high costs involved. Most travelers are unaware of how expensive medical care is in the United States. U.S. medical facilities also may not recognize insurance provided by a “foreign” insurance company and could deny services or demand up-front payment for treatment. Visit USA-HealthCare is a beneficial travel medical insurance plan that can provide illness and accident expense protection, and it can pay for treatment during your visit to the US.

This coverage for visitors insurance is available for as little as $1.12 per day* for travelers underage 30, and as low as $3.60 per day* for travelers ages 50-59! See our rate page for more details.

    Who qualifies for visitor insurance?

    • Business and leisure travelers
    • Parents of students studying in the U.S.
    • Tourists and holiday travelers
    • Church or missionary travelers to the United States

You can choose from two travel medical insurance plans, each offering a choice of four deductibles.

After reviewing the visitor insurance plans, click the Enroll Now link to enroll online, over the phone, by fax or by mail. When you enroll online, by fax, or mail, you’ll receive a receipt and Confirmation of Insurance by email.

Travel Insurance for India and USA: Cost-Effective

Citizens and residents of India qualify for these travel insurance plans that are designed to particularly cover unexpected medical expenses as a result of sudden accidents or illness when away from home. Treatment related medical bills can sky rocket and cause financial strain, unless the person needing treatment is insured. With a variety of plans offering different levels of coverage at different premiums, one can easily choose coverage that suits one’s requirements. The limited benefits type of plan is affordable and provides basic coverage. Our comprehensive plans go beyond the coverage offered by the fixed benefits plans as they do not have any sub limits for each benefit.

Plans that offer travel insurance for India and USA visitors can be bought prior to or after the start of travel. They can be bought for a period of time anywhere between five days to three years. Most of our plans feature cashless payments to certain hospitals and doctors.

Travel Insurance for India visitors: Highlights

Underwritten by US insurance companies, travelers from India can obtain coverage outside India. These plans are provided through companies with high A.M. ratings; such companies include AIG, Nationwide, and Lloyds. A.M. ratings are provided by A.M. Best, an independent company. Claims are also handled in the US so direct settlement of claims is common when treatment is under a doctor or hospital within the network.

Benefits of travel insurance for India residents include treatment of an unexpected injury or sickness. These could include hospital stays, visits to the doctor, surgery, diagnostic tests such as blood work or X-rays and even prescription drugs. Treatment related to pre-existing conditions and regular physicals are not covered by many plans. Also included are emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains.
