The Top 7 Disney World Vacation Planning Websites

If you re trying to plan a trip to Disney World, it s easy to get overwhelmed with the sheer amount of information available on the web.

A Google search for Disney World vacation planning pulls up approximately 462,000 sites!

But, lucky for you, I ve already waded through the web and found the top 7 Disney World vacation planning websites .

All Ears . This is my favorite Disney information website. It s so comprehensive it s scary. It even has sample menus from restaurants and reviews on everything from hotels to tours. Check out the Reader Tip Archive , as it s full of hidden gems.

Touring Plans. This website goes along with the book, the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. I highly recommend the book, as well as the website. If you buy the book from 2009, you get a free subscription to the site which includes specific touring plans to help vacationers beat the crowds.

Mouse Planet . I love their bi-weekly podcasts that usually provide trip planning advice. They also have great trip reports and articles. Mike Scopa s Scoping the Parks series of articles provides several helpful tips on planning a trip to Disney World.

WDW Luxury Guide . This site is for those wanting a more luxurious experience of Disney World. It focuses on the most exclusive resorts, dining, and entertainment that Disney has to offer. Worth a glance to see how good Disney can be.

Mouse Savers . This is my top website for finding deals for vacationing in Disney World. It provides coupon codes and has a section on preferred non-Disney hotels. It also provides deals on other things Disney, so check it out if you re a Disney fan.

Passporter . This website goes along with the book, Passporter s Walt Disney World. The book is awesome, but I love the website as well. The website has a very active forum with knowledgeable Disney fans willing to answer any of your burning questions. Plus, for just $4.95, you get access to their helpful e-books and customizable trip planning e-worksheets.

Tour Guide Mike . Mike was an actual Disney World VIP tour guide for 10 years. It was his job to know everything about Disney World. Most of his site is a paid service called the Automated Vacation Planner that helps you plan your trip in detail. I ve used it, and it s definitely worth the money, only $21.95 at the time of writing. He is an expert at saving time and beating the crowds.

I truly believe these websites are the best of the best, and will help you plan the perfect trip for your family. Be sure to keep this list handy, because once you return from Disney World, you ll want to start planning another trip back.

Save Money on Travel With These 4 Websites

Save

Shares & Saves

Money-savvy travelers have never had a wider variety of digital tools at their disposal for finding low fares and prices. As a seasoned traveler, I’ve found the following websites and digital tools most useful for saving money on amazing trips. Add these to your budget travel toolkit by bookmarking them now.

Playing with Kayak Explore

While I book most of my flights using strategically earned points and miles. I occasionally choose to pay cash for a flight. When I do, Kayak is the first booking site I turn to. Kayak, whose motto is “Search One and Done,” combines hundreds of other travel booking sites together so searching on Kayak means you’re searching all of them.

Kayak also features a very handy price predictor. This forecasting tool uses historical information to predict whether the price you’ve just searched will likely go up or down in the future and whether you should book now or wait.

Should it recommend that you wait to book, Kayak also offers fare alerts. And because Kayak’s links are static (which is not always the case with travel booking sites), you can also bookmark the results page of your search and come back to it later.

Kayak Explore is a fun and interesting feature if you don’t know where you want to go and simply want to see your options. Set a home airport, and it displays an interactive map of the world with the lowest fares for each destination.

2. FareCompare Twitter feeds

3. Travelzoo

Travelzoo employs a team of travel experts who scour the Internet for the best travel deals available, from airfare to hotels to entertainment. Travelzoo is independent, so deals are selected based on actual merit, and reviews are unbiased. Subscribe to weekly emails or use the RSS feeds with an RSS-to-email IFTTT recipe to have the latest deals sent to you on a more frequent basis.

4. Flyertalk

Flyertalk is the ultimate online community for mileage junkies and travel hackers (people who strategically take advantage of mileage reward programs to collect large amounts of points and miles). As a forum with a highly niched user base, it can be intimidating for new users, especially if you’re unfamiliar with travel hacking. However, it’s a good place to learn about the world of budget travel and be among the first to find out about unusually low-cost deals. The best way to use Flyertalk is to immerse yourself in it, so take some time to read through the threads to familiarize yourself with how this site can help you plan your next trip.

There are a lot of great websites and resources out there, but I consider these to be among the best. Bookmark these four sites, and you’ll be well on your way to saving money next time you travel.

Travel websites: Which online resource is best?

(CBS News) If you’re still planning that summer vacation or have a business trip on tap, there are many ways to find help on the Internet. However, even though they’re just a click away it is not always easy to tell which site will give you the best options.

Personal financial expert Lauren Lyons Cole, of TheStreet. made the process a little easier and shared her top picks for the best travel websites on “CBS This Morning: Saturday.”

To get the best airfare, she suggested the Google-owned site, ITAairfare. The site is popular because it not only gives you best pricing, but is very easy to search. It has a calendar-style presentation and is great for finding cheap fares for international routes.

If you’re looking to travel the rails, she suggests the site Man in Seat 61. Cole says that this site is great for those new to rail travel. It provides information on tickets, pricing and the best routes. It’s also a great tool for those traveling in Europe where trains are much more frequently used for travel.

Cole gave two different options for those looking to book hotels. The website Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a catalog of reviews for boutique hotels from a couple who’ve actually stayed at each venue. This is a great resource for those looking to stay in these types of establishments.

On the flip side, Hostelworld is a site for people who want to save a bit more money. Cole said that hostels aren’t what they used to be, and that even families can stay in them.

“They’re a great way to save on money while you travel abroad,” she said, noting that not all hostels are exclusively for students. “There are hostels that are more family-friendly. You can get on hostelworld.com, see everything, whether it’s booked or not booked, and then read expert reviews on whether this is going to be the right fit for you.”

If you’re looking for things to do off the beaten path, Cole suggests the site Atlas Obsucra. where you can put in a location and check out reviews on bizarre sites across the world — or in your own backyard.

As a safety precaution, Cole recommends that any time you leave the United States you check with the U.S. State Department’s website for any urgent restrictions. as well as register your trip in case of emergency at home or abroad.

Arthur Frommer – s ten best travel websites for 2012 #amigo

From hotel deals to vacation rentals and more, how to surf the web for top holiday bargains

How many websites attempt to help you make the right choice among travel products? The answer is: tens of thousands. But as I prepare for my own vacation trips, or respond to inquiries from friends, relatives or readers, I find myself returning again and again to just 10 of that mammoth array. They are set forth below:

I have deliberately excluded websites prepared by me or with which I am associated – like Frommers.com, my own daily blog or my daughter’s daily blog. My favourites include:

1 For finding hotel rooms in the U.S. Getaroom.com. Though only a fraction of the size of its larger rivals (it accesses hotels in more than 200 cities, but concentrates on bargains in the 57 most heavily visited ones), GetARoom claims to supply unique room rates, and actually encourages you to phone them for even better unpublished rates.

2 For finding hotel rooms in Europe: Venere.com. From its headquarters in Rome, Venere accesses more than 50,000 hotels all over the world, but does best – and offers special bargain rates – in European cities, for which you should primarily use it.

3 For finding low-cost overnights in private homes worldwide: Airbnb.com. After only three years in existence, this San Francisco outfit is handling tens of thousands of bookings in private apartments and homes all over the world. Usually, the owner remains in residence while you occupy a guest bed or room.

4 For snaring a free overnight in the home or apartment of gracious, generous people worldwide: Couchsurfing.org. It reveals an awesome number of people who will put you up as a free guest. A runner-up in this field: GlobalFreeLoaders.com.

5 For vacation homes or rental apartments: VRBO.com. Its initials standing for “vacation rental by owner,” it eliminates the middleman, puts you in direct touch with the landlord, but therefore requires that you carefully check references. If you do, you’ll often obtain remarkable values for your next vacation stay.

6 For unbeatable airfares both here and overseas: Momondo.com. This Danish-based “aggregator” of flights, operated by a handful of people aided by what apparently is a remarkable computer program, has frequently provided me with airfare bargains that no other website revealed.

7 For sharp discounts on your next cruise: Vacationstogo.com. Though more than a dozen cruise brokers compete for your business (CruisesOnly.com, iCruise.com, OnlineVacationCenter.com, CruiseCompete.com, TravelThemesAndDreams.com and many more), this one presents its offerings in such clear, understandable fashion as to win my vote.

8 For discounted prices on your next auto rental: Autoslash.com. In addition to revealing low rates, it also draws your attention to special coupon offers that can reduce your costs even more. It’s in heavy competition with the longer-established BreezeNet.com, which also should be consulted.

9 For lower-cost shore excursions on your next cruise: Shoretrips.com. In addition to offering lower rates in nearly every major port at which the big cruise ships stop, it also places you in

12-passenger vans instead of the 45-passenger motorcoaches used by the cruise lines themselves.

Best Travel Websites for Booking Cheap Flights #travel #guides

The 10 Best Websites To Help You Book Cheap Flights

This is the time of year when my friends and family start to ask me What s the best website to book a cheap flight? . With 2015 finally upon us, everyone is getting excited about using that new batch of vacation days they got when the clock struck midnight.

Booking a cheap flight and the best flight are not always the same thing. Sometimes you have to spend a little more to have a better experience but ultimately the decision is yours. We re here to show you the best tools available online, no matter what your goal is when booking a flight.

If you still use Expedia to search for flights we have some important news for you. Stop. Stop it right now. Delete it from your bookmarks. Done? Okay, good.

Whether you want someone to do all the work for you (FlightFox) or wanted a detailed analysis of your trip (Momondo) we ve got options for everyone. We actually highly recommend you use 3 or 4 of these sites at one time to find the best price and flight for your vacation.

Adioso

What is it? Adioso takes the guessing games out of when to fly, for how long and where to.

Who is it for? Travelers with flexible schedules who want to quickly find the best flights for their trips.

Adioso is amazing. If you’ve never used it, your life is about to change. Not sure where and when you want to go? Enter a general timeline for when (June) and where (Europe) and Adioso will give you the best cities to visit at the best prices. What’s even more incredible is their natural language search engine. It let’s you input searches like “NYC to South America in July for 12 days” and out comes the perfect results for your dream trip.

My favorite part of Adioso for the traveler who knows exactly what they want, is their “Smart View” flight finder. Simply put in your exact dates and location and out comes 3 options for your journey: the cheapest trip, the best overall trip and the shortest flight. It takes out all the hard work of looking through every flight to find your best options.

FlightFox

What is it? FlightFox is a marketplace of flight experts who find you the best flights.

FlightFox is perfect for the traveler who wants to save money but doesn’t want to do the hard work. It’s all the best parts about using a travel agency without having to actually leave your house. For a small fee of $49 you can have a team of 15 experts from FlightFox work to find you the best flights at the best prices. Simply sign up, submit your itinerary and trip goals (where, when, how long, to save money, flexibility, etc) and let the team of experts at FlightFox do all the hard work. Their customer feedback and satisfaction says a lot about how good they are. See for yourself.

Airfare Watch Dog

Google Flight

What is it? Google’s very own flight search engine that uses a powerful software to find routes/prices.

One of my favorite tools for finding the best time to fly is Google Flights. Google purchased the licensing rights to ITA Matrix in 2011 (a travel agents best friend) and now they use the software to power their flight engine searches. Google Flights offers a really great map view to help you drag and drop to different destinations. It also shows you each month at a glance so you can help figure out which days, weeks or months are cheaper to fly to your favorite destinations. We recommend using Google Flights as a tool to the start of your research before you move on to more detailed searches and bookings.

SkyScanner

RouteHappy

What is it? A flight search engine that rates your results based on various factors that impact your happiness.

Routehappy has one goal in mind: to give you the best price with the best experience. Each result from your search is graded out of 10 on their “Happiness Scale” based on 6 different factors like legroom, Wi-Fi, time traveled and more. You’ll find that a majority of the time flights rated with the highest happiness factor (8+) are also one of the cheapest available. RouteHappy also work with SkyScanner (mentioned previously) to make sure you’re seeing all the best flight options available. That’s a win win in our books.

The Flight Deal

What is it? Blog/Twitter account that posts only the best of the best flight deals and discounts available.

Momondo

What is it? A search engine that offers detailed analysis and insights for your requested trip.

What impacts the price of flights from your local airport? What’s the cheapest time of the year to fly from JFK? What’s the best airline to fly with to your destination? Momondo answers all these questions and more. They set themselves apart from other airlines by offering you the same at a glance services on top of their incredibly detailed and thoughtful analysis. Seriously, the amount of information they gather and present about your trip is insane. Try a search for yourself and click on “Flight Insight” to see what we’re talking about.

Sometimes a computer just can’t do the trick no matter how many algorithms it wants to run. Use Momondo to analyze all the information they present and then decide for yourself what flight is right for you.

Hipmunk

What is it? A flight search engine that factors in every aspect of your journey before showing you the best flight.

Hipmunk is a flight search engine with a personality and we love it. Hipmunk’s “Agony” search engine will present you with the best flights, at the best prices, that offer the most bang for your buck. They’ll show you what they consider the best airfare but it may be $100 more than other cheaper fares. When that flight is 5 hours faster, has 3 more inches of legroom (yes, please!) and no connections, you won’t be complaining about the price difference. Cheap doesn’t always mean it’s the best option.

Combine that with a beautiful website and interface and you’ve got one of our favorite flight search engines on the web.

3 new travel websites give travelers easier access to specials, packages, deals

Three new websites give travelers more ways to connect with travel specials and deals.

© 2013 Karen Rubin/news-photos-features.com

Touristlink.com uses social networking to connect travelers with local travel providers

Touristlink.com. a social network connecting travelers with local travel providers, announces new trip planning features set to launch in January of 2013. Travelers will be able to broadcast upcoming trip plans and then receive personalized offers from local travel businesses.

When a traveler publishes his trip plan it will be forwarded to relevant locals who can then pitch the best local travel deals that fit the travelers taste and interests. Travel business owners get a new marketing avenue by being able to pitch discounts on hotels, restaurant coupons, day trips, taxi services and more directly to interested travelers.

It’s easy enough to find hotels online but travelers looking for transport and activities have fewer options. Touristlink aims to solve this problem by bridging the gap between local travel businesses offering these service and the travelers who need them. Simplicity is the key to Touristlink’s new features that enable travelers to post a trip plan in seconds.

To get started travelers are only required to enter a location and a date or range of dates. Once a trip plan is posted local travel businesses are alerted and can contact the traveler personally with enticing offers.

One problem with social trip planning tools is that to be successful they require a certain amount of participation. Visitors don’t want to see empty pages and providers making offers want some positive business response. Although the site launched a year ago the Touristlink team waited for over a year to get sufficient traction before announcing plans to launch this product.

Since the site launched in October 2011 it has signed up over 5,000 local travel businesses, many of whom are offering their own deals on the platform. In addition, according to rankings on Alexa.com the site is now one of the largest social networks for travel.

Touristlink is a social marketplace for travel that lets travelers get to know firsthand the local behind the tour they are planning or the small hotel they want to stay. Travelers tired of generic tour offerings can get unique trip ideas and offers direct from local providers as well as see reviews and recommendations of the same provider from other travelers.

Businesses benefit in that they get additional online exposure and can access a host of tools to help them engage customers on traditional social media platforms. It’s a great resource whether you want to get off the beaten path or just want to plan your own trip. Touristlink is managed by GotripIndia and has versions in both Spanish (es.touristlink.com ) and Portugese (Touristlink.com.br ).

TravelFlyers.com launches new discount travel website

Travelers will soon have a new website to search for hotel specials and travel packages.

www.travelflyers.com. launching in February, is a new website where travel trade partners can list travel deals at no monthly cost, which in turn enables travelers to search for travel deals in an easy and simplified way.

Travellers have free use of the website and have the option to search for hotel deals, travel packages, last minute deals and also by means of using a map, displaying the three options available to them based on their geographical location.

“Our goal was to add value to both the traveler and the trade, providing the trade with a sustainable platform to constantly offer deals to travelers.” said Bertus Floor, Managing Director of TravelFlyers.com. “The website took extensive research, planning and development over a period of 5 years and we are glad about the release of the beta website to the trade”, Floor added. The official launch date for the public is set for February 1, 2013.

Travelers can also browse through accommodation for world events, like a Grand Prix or Olympic games, as well as for unique experiences. Once travelers have found the deal they want they can choose their options and securely book online immediately.

With all the travel websites currently available, the developers of TravelFlyers.com said they recognized the need in the market for a classifieds-type ‘specials only’ website that would give travelers the ability to browse both long and short term travel specials.

In the near future, the site has plans to add mobile version of the site, reviews, user galleries and videos.

Representatives of hotels and travel agencies can learn more here: http://www.travelflyers.com/get-listed-on-our-site.html .

5 Best Websites for Booking Caribbean Travel Deals Reviews #best #airfare

Caribbean Travel Deals

SPOT MORE COOL STUFF:

Arranging a trip to the Caribbean online? There are lots of general travel websites—Travelocity. Expedia and Funjet Vacations among them—that cover the Caribbean along with the rest of the planet. But many of the best deals, and much of the most useful planning information, are found on websites that specialize in the Caribbean. Here are our countdown review of the five best:

#5 Caribbean Way

Caribbean Way lists private homes and multi-bedroom villas available for rent. Think of it as a combination of VRBO and BedandBreakfast.com. but focused exclusively on luxury properties. Along with your rental your get access to a concierge who can cook for you, pre-stock your villa, pick you up at the airport or arrange for tours and activities.

Don t miss: The selection of private islands. Note that if you rent Necker Island you are required to invite the Spot Cool Stuff staff to come along.

#4 Cruise Direct

You can use Cruise Direct to book cruises all over the world, but the site has an especially large selection of Caribbean sailings. In addition to offering discount prices and not charging a booking fee, every reservation comes with a bonus—an on-board credit or extra discount or the like.

Don t miss: The cabin and deck floor plans.

#3 Island Routes

Booking websites are usually about arranging the logistics of travel. But actual travel—the reason why you go and what you ll remember long after you get back is—is about getting to know your destination and having fun while there. That s why we love Island Routes . The website finds cool activities in seven Caribbean countries and then offers them at discount prices. Swim with the Dolphins in Jamaica. embark on a seaside scavenger hunt around Turks Caicos or dive in a submarine off Barbados. (Yes, the sub does have windows.) The activity options on Island Routes are almost universally interesting and less expensive when booked on the website than in-person at your destination.

Caribbean Travel Deals” alt=”travel websites Best. Websites. Ever.

#2 Sandals Beaches

Sandals and Beaches are each a group of Caribbean resorts owned by the same company. Sandals is for adults only. Beaches is for families with children. Both claim to be luxury included. That is, not only is food and lodging included in your rate but also drinks, activities and airport transportation.

Caribbean Travel Deals” title=”Best Websites for Booking Caribbean Travel Deals: Sandals and Beaches All-Inclusive Resorts” width=”310″ height=”375″ class=”alignright size-full wp-image-1922″ /> Spot Cool Stuff was dubious (to say the least) of the luxury included claim until we went and inspect several Beaches and Sandals properties for ourselves. They really do make it possible to enjoy a luxurious beach vacation without ever pulling out your wallet. Not only is food included but outstanding gourmet food. Lobster, anyone? Drinks are top shelf brands. Unlimited golfing is included on quality, professional courses. Unlimited scuba is included too. So are concerts, water sports (motorized and not) and excursions to private islands. So are all tips and taxes (which are not insubstantial in most Caribbean countries). For a chill, easy, romantic luxury vacation, there s no easier and higher-quality way.

Don t miss: The deals! A stay at a Sandals or Beaches resort is a high-end experience and comes with a correspondingly high-end price. But both brands—especially Sandals—seem to always have special offers, many of which can be combined. Deals include discounts, free nights and/or airfare credits. At the time of writing, Sandals was offering a Companion Flies Free promotion on their US/international website and 35% off plus upgrade promotions on their UK/Europe site.

#1 Cheap Caribbean

Caribbean Travel Deals” title=”Best Website Award by Spot Cool Stuff” width=”260″ height=”216″ class=”alignright size-full wp-image-2001″ /> Cheap Caribbean is the single best website for finding Caribbean travel deals. Even if you don t plan to book your trip online, the website is well worth a visit for the resort reviews and destination information. But it is the discounted prices on hotels, cruises, vacation packages and all-inclusive resorts that will keep you coming back to the site. All their prices are guaranteed to be the lowest publicly available—find a better one and Cheap Caribbean will match it plus give you a $150 credit.

If your travel plans are flexible, definitely check out Cheap Caribbean s hot deals page. If it s your first time booking on the site don t forget to claim your $50 newbie booking bonus .

10 Best Travel Photography Websites

by Heather on August 19, 2010

by Heather | August 19th, 2010

Best travel photography websites . Sounds simple, right? Well, simple in the fact that there are a lot of travel photography websites out there. However, it s challenging today to find quality, ah-inspiring photos. When it comes to photography the amount of interest about images documenting the daily life of people from around the world has exploded. Tweet this, post that, you name it, and I ve taken a photo of it. Technology has made it easier, and faster to spread our experiences through photo-sharing websites, making the internet photography world an imagery haven.

With all of this in mind the search has become just that more tantalizing.  It’s somewhat of a treasure hunt for me, and I believe for others too that are looking for unique, high quality photographs. As a person in a typical town with a typical job, the world all of a sudden seems much more exciting, and available to explore when you’ve seen images of another place or culture. I believe these photos keep alive the faith that the journey to experience these places are attainable when at times it seems impossible.

1. Tom Robinson Photography : Tom is an English photographer who finds himself most at home while traveling the world. His website highlights his work in Central South America, South East Asia, and New Zealand. His photographs are absolutely breath taking. Lots of character  is captivated through his images of the countries he has visited. If you have a great love for Latin American or Asian cultures you will truly enjoy his images.

2. Art Wolfe : A Northwest native, and avid traveler. Art s collection is very extensive. His work is often updated on the website, and among having great photography: he is awesome with posting where he is, and what he is doing. He loves to share tips, and tricks of the trade. Art s career as a photographer extends over 30 years, which makes him a great resource.

3. Mitchell Kanashkevich : Mitchell has a documentary style that is really appealing to many. It gives you the sense of being right in the mix of it all. His passion lies  in photographing disappearing cultures. The flavor of life is captivating, and makes his photographs some of the best to browse through. Mitchell also holds workshops around the world, and has publications documenting his work. Really inspiring stuff!

4. Wendy Connett Photography : She is probably one of my all time favorites. Love her work, and she has a wide range of travel photographs from all around the world. From the US to Morocco there are lots to get lost in. Wendy lives in New York, and is published in more than 25 countries.

5. The Digital Trekker : This website is run by Matt Brandon, and features a number of images tools for all. Most of his photos are from India, Malayasia and Egypt. He updates his blog weekly, and always has inspiring images to share in his blog posts. I personally find his website very helpful in seeing through his images the how to s .

6. WhyGo : WhyGo is a great travel photography website for daily photos. This site has photos submitted 24/7 from all around the world from us the traveling readers. It s a great way to share your experiences with the community, and get involved. You can be the one to inspire more people to travel. I check it out everyday! Like I said earlier it s like a treasure hunt. Some days there is a phenomenal picture posted, and makes the wait worth it.

7. National Geographic : I know I m stating the obvious here, but I have to say that this website is for sure the best free resource for travel photography. The catalog of locations, and images can keep me busy for hours. They have country, theme, park, people, etc. categories that speak to all. Plus, the pictures are a collaboration of the best of the best in the world, and if you are looking for a quick inspiration fix. There is no other photography site like it: we are lucky to have it right at our finger tips.

8. Nomadic Vision : The beautiful photos showcased on this website are captured by John and Tina Reid. The photographs are displayed creatively, and stand out for a number of reasons.  Their photographs range from nature, cities and people. The most intriguing part about their photographs is the commentary on each of the photos. I find that a lot of sites show pictures, but there is no information about them. The story behind the picture is just as compelling to me as the photograph: even if it is only one sentence. They also have a blog that gives you a bigger glimpse into their world.

9. Pictory : I m a huge fan of this website. I can t say enough good things about it. It s only been out for a short while, but has made big waves. The site focuses on showcasing your best photo stories . It only has three photo story cities listed (New York, San Francisco and London), but I believe their are more to come. The site only has a few travel destinations, but the photo story listed about each of the cities are unique. What intrigues me the most is that the photos display a side of the city that otherwise gets overlooked. Outside the travel world, the other photo series on the site are excellent. They spark a lot of feeling in the life s of others, the content is well thought out, and changing on a regular bases. Plus, it s nice to have a website with some local US travel destinations. Two thumbs up!

10. The Big Picture : Like I said, heavy hitters. The Boston Globe s news in photograph series is a great one stop shop photography site of pictures from all over the world. A small number of photographs published are from private photographers, but a majority of their photographs posted come from such licensed sources as AP, and Getty images. What I love most about this site, is that you can browse pictures from all walks of life. The selection of pictures most always tell an interesting story, and are thought provoking. In their about page, Alan Taylor (who runs the blog) states that The Big Picture. is intended to highlight high-quality, amazing imagery with a focus on current events, lesser-known stories and, well, just about anything that comes across the wire that looks really interesting.

In my many hours of perusing photographs: the mainstream has fueled my desire to find the rather off-beat, and possibly a tad more unusual in content travel photography websites. Don t get me wrong: I do have a great appreciation for the heavy hitters too, there are a couple of them on the list to prove it is so. I will surely admit there are definitely more than 10 travel photography websites out there that are very noteworthy. But these are my ‘top’ travel photography websites right now that I frequent for inspiration.

10 travel websites that can save you money

Ever heard of Breezenet.com or Couchsurfing.org? Travel icon Arthur Frommer tells you that you should.

Travel websites come and go—hundreds of new ones emerge each year—but 10 remain unchallenged, in my view, for their ability to save you large sums of money on nearly any vacation trip:

1. Momondo.com for the lowest air fares: Created by Danish techies and headquartered in Copenhagen, of all places, it has an uncanny ability to find better rates for your next flight, even for purely local trips within North America. That’s because, it’s claimed, its program surveys all sources of airfares—some 800 of them, even those that pay no commission to Momondo for getting them a customer. Next time you book a flight to anywhere, give these enterprising Danes a look.

2. Breezenet.com for discount car rentals: A remarkable source of car rentals costing substantially less than normal levels. By surveying the daily offerings of some 14 large companies and countless mom-and-pop firms, it nearly always finds a reduced rate from a rental company hungry for business on a particular day.

3. Hotelscombined.com for reduced hotel rates: Here’s a site that scans dozens of other hotel websites around the world and then produces the best rates for particular dates. If there’s a sale going on, or a hotel slashing rates temporarily, Hotelscombined.com will find the bargain, saving you a great deal of money. GetaRoom.com is among its competitors, but it finds hotels in only a handful of heavily visited cities.

4. Homeexchange.com for swapping apartments and homes: It apparently has become the most widely used service for vacation exchanges, as a result of its prominent mention in a recent Hollywood film. Its tens of thousands of home or apartment listings enable you to quickly and effectively find a person eager to exchange his or her home or apartment for yours during the time of your respective vacations, enabling both of you to enjoy free lodgings.

5. Homeaway.com for renting vacation homes and apartments: After acquiring several smaller home-rental companies, Homeaway has become the largest source of such rentals, and appears to operate efficiently and reliably. Numerous travelers currently are substituting homes or apartments for hotel rooms, spending less and enjoying more spacious accommodations than a hotel would provide. (Rentalo.com, specializing in apartments, is among its competitors.)

6. Cruisesonly.com (whose main competitors are VacationsToGo.com and OnlineVacationCenter.com) will snare discount rates for most sailings of most major cruise ships. Nearly every cruise line discounts the rates appearing in its catalogues and brochures, and the smart cruise passenger always seeks out these reductions in price.

7. Xe.com for currency-exchange rates: This strange, two-letter website supplies you with up-to-the-minute exchange rates for all the world’s currencies, enabling you to know the dollar equivalent of foreign prices. (Smart travelers obtain their foreign currencies from the ATM machines in all foreign cities of any size; they do much better at ATM machines than from exchange kiosks and counters.)

8. Hostelz.com for low-cost hostels throughout the world. For the most cost-conscious of all travelers (seeking to pay no more than $25 a night), Hostelz provides you with photographs and texts describing many thousands of hostels offering low-cost beds to people of all ages, sometimes in hotels that were recently converted into hostels by ambitious entrepreneurs.

9. Couchsurfing.org for young people seeking free hospitality and Servas.org for older ones. Both organizations maintain massive lists of generous people around the world who are willing to put up guests in their homes free of charge for short stays (usually two or three nights). Servas has been in existence since 1948 and has a mainly mature membership; the more-recently founded Couchsurfing caters to a more youthful set.

10. Airbnb.com for those occasions when all hotels in a particular city are sold out because of large conventions or trade shows. For numerous cities in the U.S. and Canada, Airbnb.com lists and rents moderately priced rooms in private homes for special use at the time of political conventions or like events.

Runners-up to the Top 10: Though they don’t deserve the supreme accolade, a number of other websites are helpful in a broad number of instances:

•  Privatemotorhomerental.com for renting an RV directly from its owner, at a considerable savings.

•  Biketoursdirect.com for its listings of inexpensive group bicycle tours departing from throughout North America and abroad on numerous dates

•  Womenwelcomewomen.org.uk for providing hospitality to female travelers, ranging from a spare cot or room to simply meeting them for a drink.

•  Viamigo.com or Rentalocalfriend.com for acquiring a local guide in various out-of-town or foreign cities.

•  Theatermania.com. Stubhub.com or Ticketsnow.com for obtaining discount theatre tickets in numerous cities.

•  Shoretrips.com for inexpensive port visits on cruises, in small-van groups.

10 Best Hotel Websites

If you are looking for a place to stay on your vacation or business trip the options on offer can be overwhelming. A hotel search tool allows you to instantly search and compare room availability and prices from sites like Expedia, Hotels.com, Venere, Laterooms, Agoda (and many more) all in one single set of search results. You could never cover the vast choice of hotel booking sites yourself, and so would more than likely miss out on the best deals. A great way to save time and money .

However, if you’re looking for a specific travel deal (hotel + flight for example) or a different type of accommodation (hostel or vacation rental) the following 10 best hotel websites have proven the most consistently useful for finding accommodation when traveling.

flickr/kevin dooley

Expedia.com one of the largest web travel booking agency offering a variety of services include airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises and vacation package deals. You can save money by booking your hotel and flight together. It is based in the US with localized sites for 20 countries.

Agoda.com great for deals in Asia but is also one of the fastest-growing platforms worldwide. You can earn points worth 4 -7% of the room price and apply these points towards your next booking.

Priceline.com – helps you haggle for the best bargains on hotel bookings (plus flight and car rental for that matter) in a casino-style way. Select the minimum star class, date of stay and preferred neighborhood, and then name your price. Certainly, deals aren t guaranteed but you can save up to 60% off published rates. The catch: Priceline doesn t tell you the exact hotel you re booking until after you pay, so you won’t be sure exactly where you’ll end up.

Booking.com the web most popular hotel reservation service attracting more than 30 million unique visitors each month from both leisure and business markets worldwide. It offers various accommodations types from small independent hotels to five star luxury resorts, with over 135,000 properties across 101 countries. Along with Agoda it is part of Priceline.com.

TripAdvisor.com – the most popular hotel review site on the web, They offer more than 45 million reviews of hotels around the globe. Ignore reviews on either extreme and just focus on the ratings in the middle to get a good sense about a hotel. The comments are not always reliable and the sources are not always credible. But you can find patterns in the comments that focus on quality, cleanliness and safety worldwide.

Hostelz.com – although probably associated with a bunk-bed lifestyle, many hostels offer more private, hotel-like accommodations these days. If you’re traveling alone you can save a great deal by staying at a hostel Hostelz.com compares all the hostel booking systems at once, including hostelbookers.com and Hostelworld.

LateRooms.com – as you may know, many hotels drop their prices at the last minute. It s better for them to fill their rooms at a discount rate than have them unoccupied. LateRooms.com is one of the main outlets that hotels (as well as B Bs and guest-houses) use to try to fill their empty rooms. Thy offer around 37,000 properties and promises discounts of up to 70%.

Hotwire.com One of the best hotel websites for discount travel. Hotwire offers low prices on airfare, hotel, rental cars and vacation packages by selling off unsold travel inventory at discounted prices.

HomeAway.com the world’s leading online marketplace of vacation rentals. with websites representing more than 625,000 paid vacation rental home listings throughout more than 145 countries. They offer short term home rentals as an alternative to hotels when traveling, an option which has seen rapid popularity growth in recent years. Home rentals are often cheaper than hotels and have more space but you have to do without a cleaning service or hotel amenities.

BedandBreakfast.com perhaps the biggest bed and breakfast booking site on the web. Bedandbreakfast.com offers thousands of bed and breakfasts, inns and homestays lodges, cabins, historic hotels, small resorts and guest ranches worldwide.

Flying on a Dime: The 3 Best Websites To Find Cheap Flights

The holiday season is upon us and many of us are planning trips. A question I get all the time is how can I find a cheap flight?  To answer that question, I will cover 3 cheap flight websites for your flying escapades – 2 of them have worked great for me flying from the United States to all over the world and the last one was suggested by the MakeUseOf founder Aibek Esengulov for being a great website for finding flights from Europe to elsewhere.

So hopefully we have got you covered with these 3 sites:

CheapFlights (US only) – CheapFlights is my first go-to cheap flight website to start looking for inexpensive flights. I have probably used them over 100 times in the last 5 or 6 years. I consistently find good deals and most of the time at the last minute.

Go ahead and fill out where you are coming from and going to select your flexibility and hit the find deals now button.

Once you hit that button, the site will do its magic searching like so:

You will see the dates are scattered over the next month or so – see if one floats your boat and click on it to go to the corresponding site and book it!

Next up is Cheapo Air. Cheapo Air has international flights both ways. When you get to their homepage it will look like every other major air flight finding service but it will find you some seriously cheap flights – there might be 2 or 3 stops or even a layover – but if cheap is your goal here you will find a flight.

You have to specify an exact date and time range to where you are going and it will find you the cheapest rates available.

Cheapo Air returned cheap flights as you can see below:

$219! That beats our original site by $70. For someone looking to to save some money, not bad! The trip includes 1 hour and 2 minutes of a layover in Atlanta and they switched my home airport from JFK to Newark, not bad!

Our last site is called SkyScanner which does United States flights as well as European flights. SkyScanner should be your site of choice for booking flights that start or end outside of the United States.

Fill out your information and let’s see what she returns”¦

So going from the United States to the Bahamas costs a lot more from here, but looking for airfares from the United Kingdom to New York we see some great deals:

They let you build your round trip by selecting one flight from the left and one from the right.

You can find some great deals from all three of these sites.  But I’m sure there are plenty of other sites where you get your cheap flights from. Feel free to share your favorite sites in the comments!

CHANGE IT UP!

Albert Einstein, a much smarter person than you or I, defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

Sound familiar?

The accommodation industry has evolved rapidly over the past couple of years but many outdated attitudes and work practices remain entrenched.

Time to ‘Change It Up’ at the next edition of the No Vacancy conference in Sydney on March 15, 2016.

Where: Sydney

When: March 15, 2016

Work’s just started on the program and we’d love to hear your thoughts on what you’d like included.

The agenda will focus on the internet, distribution, marketing, innovation, consumers and technology.

Meanwhile, bookings are open with a special pre-program rate of $449 + gst.

3. Trippy.com If you use Facebook you may really like this travel site that allows you to use your online friends to provide recommendations, to plan a trip, offer trip ideas, find cool places, and more.  How does it work?

It will ask you to write a small blurb about your upcoming trip (“I’m just testing this site out” or “I m going to propose on this trip!”).

Trippy will then ask you to select a bunch of hotels  and restaurants that you may have in mind, so that your friends can offer opinions (you can skip this part if you have no idea).

You can then send your trip details to a Facebook group that you’ve set up (“Friends” for instance). Your message will be posted on your Facebook account, and any recommendations from friends will pop up on your own Trippy site page (just log into the Trippy site to access the page). What s New in Travel Websites and Search Engines

A handful of new travel search engines and other interesting travel resources have popped up recently, aiming to fill the gaps that the bigger companies leave in their wake, clamoring for your business, your travel preferences, and your loyalty (one can hope). We’ve looked at a few of the more promising ones that have emerged.

By Carrie Havranek

Even Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity had to start somewhere. A handful of new travel search engines and other interesting travel resources have popped up recently, aiming to fill the gaps that the bigger companies leave in their wake, clamoring for your business, your travel preferences, and your loyalty (one can hope). We’ve looked at a few of the more promising ones that have emerged.

The Latest Entrant in the War of the Fare Search Engines

So, how does it do it? Their patent-pending dynamic pricing engine searches and searches hundreds of sites. (Literally. You have to click a STOP button to cease the search application.) The technology “allows cFares to bring below-market point of sale prices to our members,” explains Vajid Jafri, chairman and CEO of cFares. While the company does not offer a lowest worldwide price guarantee — it’s nearly impossible, they claim — they have devised a name-your-price service called cAgent, which allows members to specify the price they would be willing to pay, and then searches the full airfare inventory, looking for a price below the target.

“Based on our 20 years in the business, we also think we’ve built a Priceline killer by eliminating the blind buying that consumers hate. Members can see the full itinerary, ticket price and carrier before they buy,” Jafri says. Once it’s been found, a hold is placed on the reservation and members have 24 hours to book, defer or decline the purchase. You can also search hotels and cars as well. The caveat? It’s only available for international travel, and cAgent is still in the beta phase.

A quick and completely unscientific search comparing cFares and meta searcher Mobissimo (www.mobissimo.com ) revealed each did similar jobs finding a fare for a flight from Newark to Dublin in early April, departing and returning on a weekday. cFares’ cheapest ticket was $459.91 round-trip available via Onetravel.com for a JFK to London to Dublin route, while Mobissimo spat out a $566 fare leaving from first-choice Newark via Frankfurt to Dublin. The first result that included Newark as found on cFares came in under Mobissimo’s find at $479.50 — but, it involved an unnecessarily circuitous route: Newark to Washington, D.C. to London to Dublin, adding an extra leg onto the flight.

Comparison searches for a flight from New York area airports to Rome in late May found cFares returning it’s lowest fare at $694 for a direct flight. Mobissimo returned a lower fare of $616.42, also on a direct flight. “Platinum” fares on each search of cFares came in at $50 less than the regular result. Our verdict? Add it to your arsenal of search tools, but as always, compare between multiple search engines and individual carriers’ sites.

The company says it gets its information from wholesalers and consolidators that most travel websites don’t; sites like Expedia and Travelocity both use the Global Distribution Systems, which is accessed by all travel search sites and agencies. Because of time constraints, at press time, my request for a $320 flight round-trip from Newark to Dublin had not been met once I clicked on cAgent, so unfortunately the unscientific research is at best inconclusive.

A Site to Find the Shortest Route

Indeed, you can find the fastest route, the latest price and links to airlines and travel agents from the site. In December, the site brought together the capability to search low-cost and traditional airlines, and offer flight combinations if necessary. And just last month, they launched over 6,000 pages of information on cities, airlines, airports, and countries. You don’t book directly through the site; instead, it gives you links to other web sites for airlines, etc. DoHop also enables you to search current travel deals, and sort your results, and prices include what they term “all known booking fees.” You can filter by either departure or destination country or state, and look for deals that way: U.S. Mexico, Europe, Caribbean, Florida, Hawaii, the United Kingdom and “worldwide” are possible terms. A typical search allows you to filter your results by time, stops, airlines, airports, and even aircraft type. Right now, you can’t filter your results by price because the company has only received that information from half of the airlines. “As more airlines get connected, we will be able to sort results by price,” says Sigurjonsson.

Because most of the users right now are from Europe, the bulk of the carriers are small, low-cost and from Europe. This is potentially a boon for U.S. travelers interested in saving money but who most likely wouldn’t know where or how to search for such deals beyond using the most common, popular travel search engines available here.

Sidekicks for Hire

Pivots and Wings (tel. 646/290-6911 ; www.pivotsandwings.com ), named for socially-conscious women and men who have great people skills, was inspired by the film Hitch and the now-infamous book The Game. The company name stems from a situation in which one guy commonly employs another male friend as a wingman in a social situation (such as a bar) to start the conversation going with a woman of interest. Pivots, then, are wing-women who are used in social settings to increase the status of a guy who’s interested in picking up a woman. With the slogan “amplify your social experience” the site launched in February to get people connected and expand their social circles — pivots and wings act kind of like professional ice breakers. You can request a pivot or wing, essentially hiring them for three to five hours (at $75/hour) for myriad situations: click on “dating advice” “going out” “style advice” and then answer a bunch of questions that will help the company determine what sort of pivot or wing to set you up with to help you become more at ease in social situations, improve your sense of style, or kick up your dating game. After all, their website says “pivots and wings: Play the game!”

Of potential interest to travelers, however, is the company’s catering to tourists. Visitors can get connected to a local pivot (or wing) who likes to share local knowledge of the scene. You can hire what basically amounts to your own personal, quirky tour guide to take you around either New York or Boston. According to Daniel Katzman, company founder, other cities are under consideration for inclusion within the year but they’re not ready to announce the expansion plan yet. If you’re traveling to a city where you know not a soul, solo or not, and you’re looking for a good time, Pivots and Wings seems like an interesting, though not exactly inexpensive, investment.

Kayak’s Evolution

Kayak (tel. 203/899-3100 ; www.kayak.com ) was created by co-founders of Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity and launched in February 2005 as a comprehensive site that allows you to comparison shop during travel planning. Their tagline is “search with us, book with them;” the meta-search engine trolls for travel deals offered by over 100 sites. Recently, Kayak became the first site to combine user content with fare availability searches with a function called “Trip Ideas,” the first part of what CMO Dean Harris calls “Kayak Alive,” visitors to the site can create and share trip ideas — an idea that’s not too dissimilar from sharing your Amazon purchase history or your Netflix list with fellow cinephiles — and then search for related content. You’ll fill out a form with a trip idea name, category, and a list of three or more destinations. Click on the “fare buzz” tab and search by categories — fishing, beach, arts/culture, skiing, hiking — and lists of aggregated trip ideas appear. Kayak also includes a collection of articles from a number of other travel websites, as well as user suggestions. If you get inspired, at the top of the page there’s a place to search for airfare of the destination you’re examining.

Also new in the world of Kayak is the capacity to book one-way rental cars. And although it’s not an entirely intuitive process — it takes a little futzing and clicking — you can now also register your itinerary for a fare alert, once you’ve signed up and created a user account (which is free). To do so, once you’ve done your search, look under “also on kayak” and click on “fare buzz.” Then, click on “track fares for this trip ideas.”

Travel Auction Websites for Discount Trips – How to Bid at

#travel discount sites
#

Online Travel Auctions

There are many ways to save money on domestic and international travel. One that is often overlooked: Travel Auctions.

If you re preparing to look into cheap airfares be sure to look beyond the airline websites and places like Expedia, Orbitz, and Travelocity.

Online travel auctions are often where you ll find the best airfare deals plus travel packages that include hotel and potentially other benefits.

eBay provides what might be the most popular travel auction on the Internet. Their travel auction page is a great place to bid on vacation packages, rental car deals, hotel discounts, vacation rentals, and other kinds of lodging deals (i.e. bed and breakfasts, timeshares, etc.). You can also bid on cruises! Become an eBay member for free by signing up on their site, then monitor the travel auction page for deals that interest you.

A high end travel auction to keep in your favorites folder is Luxury Link. where you need to become a member, for free, in order to bid. They offer single auctions, Dutch auctions, and what they call Best Shot auctions. In a single auction bidders are bidding on one travel package or item. The highest bidder wins when the travel auction closes. In a Dutch auction more than one of the same package or item is up for bid. If there are two items, then the two highest bidders win and each pay the lowest offered price. If the two bids were $2,000 and $1,800, then each person pays $1,800. In a Best Shot auction, one or more of the same items are up for bid. You submit what you re willing to pay, above the minimum and below the suggested retail price, and that s it. All winning bidders will pay the lowest winning price.

Generous Adventures Travel Auctions. based in Homer, Alaska, bills itself as an all-travel benefit auction. They auction primary donated travel items, from accommodations and unusual travel packages to whale watching trips, river rafting adventures, and eco-tours. It s very possible to get good deals, and everyone comes out a winner. Those donating travel items get good publicity, the beneficiaries get needed money, and you might get a great deal. Look at their list of travel auction beneficiaries. which changes all the time.

Of course, there are many other travel auction websites. Bidding for Good is similar to Generous Adventures, in that some monies from travel auctions goes to charitable causes. SkyAuction. Priceline. the list of travel auction sites is fairly lengthy.

A quick word of advice: check the fine print before purchasing items in a travel auction.

The deal of the century could turn out to be a bust if you re not careful.

Inquire about blackout dates and beware of various fees and added charges that could boost the cost of the deal well above your winning travel auction bid.

More advice? Before making a purchase on eBay or any other travel auction website you should check out prices elsewhere to ensure that you re actually getting a great deal. Price out airfare, hotel, and rental car separately and compare.

Whether you re new to travel bidding or a travel auction veteran, take a trip to the Better Bidding message board. Register for free, then get Priceline and Hotwire travel auction bidding best practices and lots of tips for getting great travel auction deals.

Top 10 Best Hotel Booking Websites in the World

by Ashima Gupta

For the people who travel a lot, this article would be very helpful as it discusses the top 10 Hotel booking websites in the world. It means that you need not worry about your staying at the place where you are travelling. Also, you need not wander all through the internet and still not get a proper Hotel booking website. All the sites discussed here in this article are trusted by numerous users. Even those people who do not travel much can make use of these websites and book Hotel tickets as and when they plan to travel.

10. Booking.com

There are some people who do not go for online Hotel booking because they find it difficult to understand the details of the procedure through all those advertisements and scattered information here and there on the website. If you are one among such people, Booking.com is something that would come to your rescue. Not only the layout of this website is very nice, but you would also find all the information about a particular hotel in a very systematic manner. You can search the Hotel that you want to stay and book tickets very easily. Flash deals are also provided by this website to its subscribers.

9. Hotels Combined

There would hardly be any Hotel in the entire world that is not included in the list of this website. This website has an exclusive feature that you would find reviews about all the hotels and these reviews are given by the customers themselves, who have stayed there previously. So, it would be very easy for the first time travellers to know where they could stay and where they could not. Also, there is an option to compare the prices of different Hotel tickets. So, you can manage according to your budget which Hotel can provide you maximum comfort.

This is one of the best Hotels booking websites in the world. People who regularly use online booking websites to book Hotel tickets across the world must be familiar with this website. Not only Hotels, other accommodation types have also been included by this website in its listing. If you are looking for some Hotel deals, then also, this website would be the best place to search for as it is updated regularly. The search for the Hotels becomes very easy when you are using Venere because the search is map based and even the maps are not like dull, black and white types, rather, they are colourful ones.

Roomkey is yet another Hotel booking website that has attracted many customers from the last few years. The Roomkey itself is the result of the collaboration of 6 great Hotel companies of this world- Marriott International, InterContinental Hotels Group, Choice Hotels International, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Hilton Worldwide and the Wyndham Hotel Group. All the customers associated with this website have always provided a positive feedback about this website, which in itself, is a great thing to achieve for a website. The information provided by this website about the Hotels around the world is the most accurate one. The interface of this website is yet another thing which you are going to love.

Not many Indians would be familiar with this website as this is Europe specific one. But still, almost all the Hotels in the world have been covered by this website. This is one of those websites which can provide you the maximum profits by granting special offers. To avail all these discounts, you need to be very regular with it.

More than a Hotel booking search engine and website, people know Hotwire as a discount providing website. This is one of the best discounts providing websites in the world and I promise you would get the best deals if you opt for this one. One of the exclusive features of this website is its Tripwatcher tool. This is a tool by which you can come to know if the prices are going to drop in the near future and then you can plan your trip to some place according to the deals. Planning your trip was never so easier. The planning tools section of this website that would come to a great help for you when you still want to plan your trip to some place.

I guess Hotels.com is one of the most popular websites for the people who travel almost every month. This website claims that around 1, 40,000 Hotels have been covered by it. No matter what type of Hotel you want, you would definitely get a solution once you associate yourself with this website. Precise information about all the Hotels is available in the records of this website. Also, various rewards and discounts are provided by this website. One of the best thing about this website that I like the most is they would provide you cheapest prices for a particular Hotel booking and in case some other website is providing you the same Hotel at an even cheaper rate, this website goes down to match that one.

If you do not want to go for less known Hotel booking websites, Tripadvisor is a nice option to choose. This is a well known website. Generally, the popularity of a website decides how many customers are associated with it. This website would provide you the perfect Hotel for your stay and would definitely make your trip awesome. While searching for the perfect Hotel for you, there is an option to filter out the Hotels according to various amenities.

Not all the people in the world know that there exist some special websites to book the Hotel tickets only. For such people, regular search engines should have to do all the work. Bing Travel is a website for such people. The major point of success behind Bing Travel is the rate indicator associated with this website. You can get to know which Hotel is good and which Hotel is extracting out a lot of money from you. So, you can always choose according to your budget and still get a very comfortable Hotel.

1. Google Hotel Finder

Perhaps Google is not happy with all those Hotel booking websites coming over. And since every person who knows computer and internet also knows about Google, we have placed the Google Hotel Finder on the top of our list of the top position in our list of the top 10 Hotel booking websites in the world. Prices of various Hotels can also be compared by this website. Google Hotel Finder would provide you the best deals and the best discounts.

Top Online Travel Booking Websites in China

China Online Travel Websites Market Share by Revenue

According to a latest China online travel booking report by iResearch, China s total online travel booking revenue in 2009 has increased to $3.74 billion yuan (about US $548 million) from year 2008 s $2.94 billion yuan (US$431 million), up 27.2%.

The top online travel booking websites (by revenue) are:

  • Ctrip: 55.6%
  • eLong .com: 9.9%
  • mangocity.com: 6.2%
  • 118114.cn: 5.8%

  • etpass.com: 3.1%
  • 17u.com: 2.7%
  • aoyou.com: 1.5%
  • Others: 12%

Ctrip.com eLong.com

Both listed in NASDAQ, ctrip and eLong are probably not strange to you as the two biggest online travel service provider in China.

Mangocity.com

Mangocity is an official subsidiary of China Travel Online and engages in business travel management service to corporate clients. It was formerly known as CTI Business Travel Management Company, one of the earliest travel management companies in China.

China Travel Service (Holdings) Hong Kong Ltd. has built its strong reputation in travel industry over 77 years. The travel management company joined Global Specialist Markets (GSM), one of the world s largest global travel management network in 2006 and became the affiliate of GSM in China and Hong Kong.

118114.cn 12580.com

This two sites are telecom s expansion into online business. 118114.cn is ownbed by China Telecom and 12580.com by China Mobile .

118114.cn is more than a online travel website but a lifestyle portal covering travel, hotel. food, and etc. 12580.com is clearly an online travel portal.

Interestingly, 118114 and 12580 are two phone numbers in China that local people can dial in to ask for lifestyle information such as the entertainment facilities near a location.

etpass.com

According to its about us page on the website, etpass.com was founded in April 2005 by a dozen of fortune 500 companies.

This travel website is new to me; according to its official introduction, 17u.com was founded in 2004 and headquartered in Suzhou with over 700 employees. It not only targets consumer customers but also business customers including travel agency, hotels, ticketing organizations, and tourist spots authorities.

aoyou.com

Online travel booking will likely grow rapidly in 2010 due to the upcoming Shanghai Expo and Guangzhou Asian Games.

Book a summer travel bargain: The best websites for. finding holiday deals

By Fred Mawer 16:06 30 Apr 2013, updated 16:07 30 Apr 2013

Type “best travel deals” into Google, and you’re offered over 1.3 billion results. Not exactly helpful. So what are the best shortcuts for finding discounted packages, hotel stays and days out?

Below, I’ve picked seven websites that are definitely worth turning to. Some, like lastminute.com and Teletext Holidays, promote thousands of cut-price offers. Others, like Groupon, advertise a much smaller selection of deals that have to be snapped up that day or week.

Either way, however enticing the deals, and discounts, might seem, do be sceptical about promised savings and shop around. Prices in the world of travel are not fixed in stone.

Grab a bargain: Being savvy could save you hundreds of pounds on a summer getaway

www.travelzoo.co.uk

With 26 million subscribers worldwide, Travelzoo is a major player in the sphere of travel deals. Its best feature is its Top 20 deals section – the 20 best deals its researchers can find, carefully checked out for accuracy and availability, and emailled out each week to subscribers. These deals cover city breaks, resort packages, cruises and hotel stays, and each is written up in impressive detail, with the saving, the dates of travel and why Travelzoo thinks the deal is so good clearly spelt out. Also worth perusing, and registering for, are “Local Deals”: heavily discounted and persuasively described hotel breaks and activity and spa sessions in regional parts of the UK, for which you purchase redeemable vouchers.

More.

www.lastminute.com

The iconic, dot-com boom website is still very much alive and kicking. You can find deals on pretty much any travel-related booking (not just last-minute ones). The website is particularly good for discounted sun-and-sand packages and for hotel stays. Big savings can be had by booking one of its many Top Secret Hotels deals, for which you need to be willing to take the risk of not knowing the name of the property until you’ve paid, Also good for theatre deals.

Teletext shines. but more information on why deals are singled out as ‘staff favourites’ would be good

www.teletextholidays.co.uk

Another household name, and part of the same company as the Daily Mail, Teletext Holidays is a good bet if you want a massive choice of often bargain, mainstream packages. The website has good search options – you can bring up deals to a specific resort in, say, Majorca. More information on why certain holiday deals are singled out as staff favourites would be useful.

More.

www.groupon.co.uk

The best known of the so-called “daily deals” websites. It comes in two parts. There are deals on offer – usually just for a day or two – for meals, activities and spa and beauty treatments oriented to some 60 UK cities and regions. (Some of these deals can be excellent: I recently purchased steak and chips for four, plus a bottle of house wine, for just £29 at a good local restaurant.) Then there are the Groupon Getaways deals, offering a small but enticing selection of UK breaks, city and sun trips, and “experiences” – anything from a stay in the Lake District to a week in Sardinia and a Himalayan trek. Each deal is carefully described, and the promised saving

A word of caution: Summer bargains exist but it pays to remain sceptical, says Fred

www.secretescapes.com

This is one of the best “flash sale” travel websites. It covers stays at four- or five-star hotels in the UK and abroad, and upper-end packages with flights. The deals can be real bargains, with savings sometimes over 50 per off the best rates offered direct from the hotel or from online agents. (I’ve just done the calculations for last-minute stays at a couple of London hotels offered in the Secret Escapes’ Impulse section). The detail on each deal is impressive. How the advertised percentage discount is calculated is clearly spelt out; you’re encouraged to compare the offer against another provider (a link to their website is provided); and the hotel or holiday is written up in useful detail, with a summary of plus points in a “we like” box. Most deals are available to book for five to seven days. Though Secret Escapes sets itself out as members only, there’s no joining fee and subscription is very quick. A pity about the additional booking fee: up to £20 on transactions over £99.

www.voyage-prive.co.uk

This members-only, flash sale, luxury travel website is very like Secret Escapes. However, its deals are different (and often very enticing), so it’s well worth having a good look around, and registering for regular email alerts. Again, a pity about the additional booking fee – of £15 on the dummy bookings I made.

Bownty hunter: This website pulls in deals from several other travel sites

www.bownty.com

A useful daily deals “aggregator” – that is, it pulls together offers from various other daily deals websites such as Travelzoo, Groupon, Secret Escapes and LivingSocial. Filters let you focus just on travel-related deals (either domestic or abroad) and those relevant to a particular city. However, for the city-related deals, as well as selecting the city, confusingly you also need to tick the “local deals” box, otherwise nationwide deals are displayed.

And the winner is.

The flash sales websites have a lot to commend them. However, Travelzoo gets my vote for its Top 20 deals feature, which is excellent at separating the wheat from the chaff when it comes to deals.

Arthur Frommer – s ten best travel websites for 2012 #norway

#best travel websites

7 New Travel Websites That Are Revolutionizing The Way We Book Trips

The Flexible Finder

[[nid:1507938]]

Admit it: You type full-sentence questions into Google because it always seems to find the right answers. But up until Adioso hit the Web, there wasn’t a travel search engine where you could make a natural-language inquiry and get an instant response. Now, you can type in questions like, “what’s the cheapest flight to Vegas this weekend,” or simply, “take me somewhere warm tomorrow,” and wait for results. This revolutionary tool lets flexible travelers type in random prompts to find the best deals anywhere in the world any time. It thinks like you think, which is a refreshing change from the box-ticking nightmare of finding a good deal within a broad area on other sites.

The Matchmaker

[[nid:1507940]]

Behold the rise of the (bed)sharing economy! Easynest made headlines in July with its novel approach to penny-pincher accommodation: sleeping with strangers. Essentially, the San Francisco startup links single travelers with solo “hosts” to share a double or twin hotel room in select cities. Pairs typically examine each other’s profiles and message back and forth before agreeing to a night in close quarters, and the solo traveler must pay the host for a portion of the room before turning up at the hotel.

The Travel Planner

[[nid:1507942]]

Launched just a few weeks ago, Trekkel claims to be the first travel recommendation engine and personal itinerary planner to meld the best of crowd-sourced ratings, curated content and friends’ comments into one space. The site experienced a few kinks in the system at the start, but it is now functional for travel planning in 15 North American cities, with a goal of expanding into Europe in the coming months. All you need to do is pick your destination, rate the elements of travel you find most important and wait for Trekkel to do the elbow work.

The Happy Hunter

[[nid:1507944]]

Are you happy with your experience in the sky? Researchers at Euromonitor International said in a recent report that this question is of increasing importance to travelers who seek higher “happiness scores” on sites like Routehappy when booking a trip. The new startup helps passengers choose a flight based as much on its quality as its price by informing them of the airline and route that will best suit their specific needs. Happy scores go up with smile-inducing features like larger seats, nicer planes and better entertainment options.

The Last-Minute Savior

[[nid:1507946]]

Travel may just be the most unpredictable of activities, and there’s nothing vacationers hate worse than a bit of fine print that doesn’t read their way. That’s where Roomer  sweeps in to save the day. This new website acts as the “stub-hub” of the hotel industry, allowing travelers who are unable to use their hotel room to list the pad at a discounted price, thus giving spontaneous vacationers a chance to snag a last-minute deal. The site offers sellers a safe and effective solution that reduces the cost of canceling a room, while providing savvy travelers with steep discounts at some amazing properties. It’s a win-win all around.

The Group Organizer

[[nid:1507948]]

Planning for a large group of people can be a nightmare no matter how you go about it, but the new website Flights With Friends hopes to make the process a touch less mind-boggling. Ideal for sporting events, family gatherings, student travel, conventions or weddings, groups can consolidate their “reply all” email chains, search more than 150 sites for airfares and hotels, graze the TripAdvisor reviews, chat, sort and vote on the best options before booking a trip with the Expedia Price Match Guarantee. For groups with different budgets and opinions, this is your go-to site to make order out of disorder.

The Hotel Time Machine

[[nid:1507950]]

Have you ever purchased a hotel room online and then found yourself playing the “what if” game? What if you purchased too soon? What if the price was about to go down? What if you had only waited one more week? Now, hotel search engine startup The Suitest has introduced a groundbreaking prediction feature that it’s calling a veritable “Hotel Time Machine.” Launched in August by a former quantitative finance analyst at Goldman Sachs, The Suitest uses the same event-modeling techniques that hedge funds use to determine whether a mortgage-backed security will default. The result is the type of complex price forecasting of hotels that travelers previously only found on airfare sites like Kayak or Bing Travel.

Travel advice: the best flight comparison websites

Donald Strachan, Telegraph Travel’s technology expert, compares the leading flight search websites to discover which finds the cheapest deals

12:40PM GMT 23 Jan 2014

Comments

For anyone hunting the cheapest flights on the web, key bookmarks are the meta-search engines . These sites trawl airlines, online travel agents (OTAs) and flight-data wholesalers to find the best price. But which of them is the cheapest?

I selected 20 routes from Britain to long- and short-haul destinations, plus one internal flight in the United States and one between Australia and Asia. I mixed five different dates, ranging from a short-notice week away in February to a 20-night August trip. I searched for every flight on eight leading flight websites, rejecting prices if they were only available with crazy layovers or a circuitous route. In other words, I chose the cheapest sensible route.

Across my bundle of 20 flights, momondo (momondo.com ) was cheapest. Only an insignificant £100 in total separated the top three of momondo, Skyscanner (skyscanner.net ) and Kayak (kayak.co.uk ). TravelSupermarket (travelsupermarket.com ) almost matched the top three on 18 routes, but only offers flights that begin or end at a UK airport.

I took most searches through to the final stage before booking, to verify prices were live . In the past, flight engines often found prices that no longer existed when the traveller clicked through to pay. This happened only a couple of times in 160 searches.

The best sites usually match each other flight for flight, to within a few pounds. However, Kayak found a London Hanoi routing that was cheapest by £35; momondo beat all rivals by £40 on a Manchester to Nairobi flight in August. Kayak, Skyscanner, and momondo were among the quickest to return results, though every engine was slower than Google Flight Search (google.co.uk/flights ). The Google tool, however, was no match for the specialists when it came to finding the best prices. In fact, Google Flight Search came eighth in price performance, almost 12 per cent more expensive than momondo for my basket of 20 flights.

5 websites that take booking air travel to new heights

Tripshare

Remember the days when you had to call a travel agent or dial a host of toll free numbers on your own to comparison shop for flights and hotels? Those days are long gone. Personal online travel planning is now the second largest e-commerce moneymaker, trailing only the adult entertainment industry.

Last year Americans spent some $103 billion online on leisure and small business travel, and, according to Hudson Crossing, a travel consulting company, that figure is set to rise to over $110 billion next year as the economy continues to recover.

Most of us are now our own travel agents, and there are scores of websites out there to help us do the job that professionals once dominated. We took five travel websites that are creating a buzz in the travel industry and put them to the test. All of them can help you make more informed airline ticket purchases on the Internet, but each have unique ways to book a flight that go beyond simply entering in your destination and dates.

1. sun, history culture, or New York Times Top Places 2013.

The site’s standard flight search tool offers a host of unusual ways to search that will appeal to travelers looking for ideas or just a great deal. Travelers can search for flights into a country or region, rather than a specific city, or they can search by the type of activity or holiday they are looking for, such as scuba diving, family friendly destinations, beer or wine tasting and so on.

The obvious cons with the Pick 2, Get 1 deal is that you’re letting the site make the final call on where you wind up and you can’t select your preferred carrier. “If you’re a control freak, Get Going is not for you,” says Henry Harteveldt, a travel industry analyst at Hudson Crossing.

You Haven t Seen This Best Travel Websites List on Buzzfeed

It is now shrouded in mystery that how people managed to travel quite well before the internet came along. If you are planning for a trip then there are so many websites to help you in this regard. These can help you in different ways by planning trips, booking trips as well as fantasizes about the trips and most important how to save the money on the trips.

There are so many websites that you may find them without any difficulty even you may confuse to choose the best one among the bounty.

#skypicker .com:

If you have any problem about where you can fly within your budget then skypicker can help you to sort out this problem. Its main focus is on the very, very cheap flights and on Europe. That means if you are in Europe and are planning to go somewhere at the lowest possible cost then there is a list of cheapest flights available by simply plugging in some information about the approximate date of the departure as well as about how long you want to stay there and viola. In this way this site can help you in saving money and having a good trip without any budget disturbance.

#dishtip .com:

If you want any type of help regarding to the restaurant recommendations around the globe then Dishtip can guide you for that. This will figure out the problem by single dish and not by the restaurant. Across the Web, the site sorts through reviews and then figures out that have been raved about and then aggregate its findings.  Although the result is not perfect but it can be a great help you to decide where you will eat instead of the food cooked by chef or neighborhood. In this way you can find out the best dish of that city where you are such as from Jacques Torres, chocolate chips are best.

#vayama .com:

The problems related to the flight search can be best sorted out by vayama.com because it is specialized in the international routes and is known by the name flight search engine. Vayama seems to have all the information about the most of the airlines so in this way can help you to find out the two one-way flights on different airlines. It also can help you to save money by finding lower price flights.

 Staydu.com:

If you are planning to have unique local experiences then staydu can help you in finding out the hosts from all around the world. That can mean a simply paying a small fee to move in with a local resident or volunteering to teach English or in the exchange of lodging and meals, doing farm work. The site shows a lot of potential in spite of the fact that it is not overly populated with opportunities.

Trivago.com:

Try Trivago if you want to compare many hotel sites at once. It is an easy-to-use metasearch site. In finding more unusual destinations it can help you a lot. It can help you in finding out the affordable rooms without disturbing your budget.

Matadornetwork.com:

This site contains treasure troves of articles that are organized into topics like “culture and religion,” “language and study abroad” as well as “art and design” written in a variety of styles. While Matador, is a free online travel community. If you come just in search of the essential Russian phrases then you can lost in here.

#triptuner .com:

If you are confused about where you want to go then this site can help you a lot. With triptuner, to tune your trip just use a panel of the six sliders. This gives you two options of “active” or “relaxing” or anywhere else in the middle. Then you have to choose one between “parka” weather and “bikini” weather as well as between “remote/quiet” and “urban/lively”. It will give you suggestions like Phuket, Salvador and Miami, Brazil and many more amazing options if you choose relaxing-bikini-urban/lively trip. Chile, Torres Del Paine or Jungfraujoch, Switzerland is options if you choose the other option. This gives enough options for thinking.

Expatsblog.com/blogs:

The best travel guides can maintain the outsider perspective because they lived in the destination for a long time. This site has almost 300 blogs by the destination and as the personal narrative you will not find the travel tips.

Seat61.com:

Mark Smith who is better known among the frugal train-riding set as “the man in seat 61” give a statement that “it would be lovely if there was a single website that sold tickets for any European train journey at the cheapest price, but there is not,”. In many cases you will have to pay more than necessary if you just go to the raileurope.com to book a ticket. Site of Smith is full of links to get you to the right booking sites and it is friendly and informal in style as well as encyclopedic in content.

Stay.com:

The sites that claim that they can plan a trip for you are generally dubious according to my opinion. With a few useful extras Stay.com is not a bad option at all, it is just due to a quick and dirty agenda. You just have to choose one of the destinations from more than 100 destinations including Marrakesh to Aixen-Provence to Lake Tahoe. Then like clicking on whatever appeals to you by going through their listings of top attractions, shopping, museums and restaurant or anything of your choice. A personalized itinerary is built up magically by those choices then you can send it to your Smartphone, or can turn into a pdf file and print and A city map that comes with it can be used without any international roaming charges even when you are not online. There is no compulsion of limitation to the initially chosen places but you can add many more to the list.

Top 5 Travel Coupon Websites

With the most of the world s economy in recession, many people look for ways to save, if not cut their spending dramatically. So many products available that feasts the eyes, yet literally sucks your wallet dry. But it s not always bad news for consumers. There are still ways to help budget your needs. Continue reading and you ll see what we mean by the word savings . Scouring the web gives you many ideas how to save, some crazy, and too good to be true, but most are helpful to discerning consumers that want to make their wallet live longer.

If you are a travel type of person, travel coupons does not ring the

bell anymore, since the concept is already been around for quite

some time. The discounts that this company offers may be old, but

hey, we need all the money and savings that we can get, right? Now

it s not clipping and cutting of those coupon anymore. Almost

everything is virtual; all you need is patience and a little of

resourcefulness.

Here are some helpful websites that will save you time and money as well. Here at VroomVroomVroom.com we always see that our customers are pampered. We searched these sites for your convenience. You can also see this in Google. Anyway here are the top 5 travel coupon sites:

RetailMeNot.com This is so far the largest website in terms of coupons offered. They claim to be the leader on this field, but we re not here to investigate that claim. But they are indeed giving multiple coupons for discounts at some of the major players in online travel in the likes of Expedia.com, Orbitz, Travelocity and Hotels.com. Coupons that include free rides in a bus company, car rental discount deals and a lot more. Some coupon even strips major percentage on saving for a hotel room. But what makes this website click is that they give warnings about their coupons; what actually works and what are unreliable.

CouponCraze.com A major competitor of RetailMeNot.com,this site offers coupon not found on it s rival. A clever marketing strategy. But this site is kind of tricky. Just give a visit if you are looking for more coupons and you can t find it in RetailMeNot.com.

RoomSaver.com  This is kind of traditional way. To make your coupon valid from this site, they want you to download it and actually present the hard copy to the front desk of the hotel. This only goes for hotels but mind you, they have connections on major hotel names and give you real savings.

BroadwayBox.com This site gives you discounts on theatre tickets in places even outside Broadway. Theatres in Vegas, London, England, Orlando and even New York City. And they are also planning to widen the reach to several key cities where these tours go.

Travelcouponguide.com You may think that this is a typical coupon offering site. But if you are resourceful enough, you will see that they have a unique way of giving out coupons: they let you choose a guide, from which state you re on! So wherever you may be, they have something for you. Go check it out!

These are just examples dear customers. As we always say, if you can give more, we definitely love to hear from you!

The 10 Best Free International Travel Guide Websites

It’s said that there are no great adventures anymore. The spotlight of information and far reaching connectivity has left us with no strange places to discover. Or so the popular opinion goes. Travel guides and travel websites have brought some wondrous places close to us; either with their enticing photographs or with first hand traveler accounts. Today’s online international travel guides are also proving handy for the budget traveler who can plan for each dollar.

In the years before the web spun the world around, travel tips came through word of mouth. Now, you can just log on and be a voyeur as travelers carry you along each step of their journey. Which are these websites that allow you to be your own traveling guide?

Frommer’s Travel Guide

The word this top travel website throws about is ‘candid’. That describes the travel tips they have collected over the years. If you can’t buy one of their travel guides, then this website is just as good a resource for getting to know any destination on the map. By the way, there is a large red map that you can navigate on the site. The articles on each location cover everything that you would care to know, from nightlife information to side trips. You can jump to the Frommer’s forums too and engage in a discussion with travelers. Short of travel ideas? Explore their inviting slideshows. Also look into the Trip Ideas section.

Trip Advisor

Trip Advisor is all about reviews and advice on hotels, resorts, flights, vacation rentals, vacation packages, travel guides etc. On each destination’s page you can check out information like top rated hotels, things to do, vacation rentals, restaurants etc along with videos and images. As it is a popular website, expect to read a lot of reviews on each aspect of your planned travel. Subscribe to the free newsletter which sends you the latest information on your chosen location. Traipse over to Advice from real travelers section for valuable tips. You can also download a free PDF city guide for the destinations.

Virtual Tourist

We covered this cool travel guide website which covers nearly 60,000 worldwide destinations just at the turn of last year, so I won’t go into too much detail here as Bakari has shown How To Use Virtual Tourist For Planning Your Next Trip .

Let’s Go

If there’s a domain name which eggs you on to catch the next flight out, this is it. The tips on the site are about traveling on a budget. The company has been known for its budget travel guides over the last 50 years. If you are searching for bargains on your sojourns, this site is worth a visit. The stories on destinations around the world make interesting reading and just might make you change a plan or two for the better.

BootsnAll

The “˜indie’ in their catchphrase is meant for the independent traveler. The site has a complete guide listing where you can browse to the destination of your choice. Also check out the Adventure Destination guides featured on the site. The site also has a pretty active forum for travel chit-chat.

World Travel Guide

Gets lots of free international travel guides to destinations around the world. The guide is available in English, German, French and Spanish. The site has a nice “˜Holiday Ideas’ section for some inspirational travel ideas. The homepage features a neat globe browser for pinpointing places worldwide. Catch the best deals and the latest events too on the dedicated pages for each location.

Rough Guides

The neatest feature on the site (apart from all the travel content) is the Rough Guide to The World picture mosaic map. There’s a movable “˜World Lens’ which you can hover on any location and check out the experiences as pictures. Also subscribe to the free Rough Guides Podcasts every month. Another useful audio download is the free phrasebook available for select languages. Or you can forget about all that and play the Rough Roads Game !

ViaMichelin

For international travelers coming to Europe, this site is a handy one-stop place for mapping, route plans, on-line hotel booking, Michelin Guide hotel, restaurant, tourist recommendations and weather and traffic reports. The site is brought to you by the renowned tire brand – Michelin. The route guides provided are the most informative you can find anywhere.

Concierge

If you frequent the web, then you will be familiar with the names of their network websites (Wired.com. Ars Technica, Epicurious, Reddit etc). The site has a large list of international travel guides covering all the hotspots around the world. You can browse them by name or click on the interactive map to start exploring with articles, pictures, and videos. Then there’s an established community too for sharing travel tips.

Atlas Obscura

If you are wondering why we left out a site like Lonely Planet, then worry not. The so well known international backpackers’ site as well as a few others has been covered in a previous article on The Best Free Online International Travel Guides. Just goes to show that we have your back covered when it comes to travel. hotels. and flights .

Cheap Airline Ticket Websites: How to Get the Cheapest Airfares #travel

The Best Airline Ticket Websites: How to Get the Cheapest Airfares

Your Guide: M.S.G.Quixo

We’ve researched the best airline ticket websites and found each one has different strengths. No single airfare website offers all the lowest fares, so to find the cheapest flights, your best bet is to try at least a couple websites.

Some airfare websites search all the top airlines. Others offer last minute airfares, name-your-own-fare or exclusive, negotiated, unpublished fares. And while you’re at it, most also search hotels and cars rentals so you can save if you book them together. You’ll get the best deal if you search the site that fits your style of travel.

Here are our reviews of the best cheap airfare websites:

Kayak.com Orbitz is still one of our favorite sites though they do a little more crossmarketing than they used to. Still a great site, especially for someone who wants an easy booking experience. Our stats show that a very large percentage of people find what they are looking for and book through Orbitz compared to other sites.

Priceline.com

Priceline is unique because they offer a few ways to buy tickets. They offer negotiated fares that are cheaper, not just the standard published fares. Or, if you are flexible, you can name your own price and vendors respond. They also offer the same old standard fares as well. This is a great way to find a deal if you are a little more adventurous.

southwestvacations.com

Southwest has worked hard to keep their online booking separate from other online flight booking services, so you have to do a search directly with them to check their fares. They don’t go everywhere but they do go to many popular destinations like Los Angeles, Florida, Hawaii, Las Vegas and many more. This site specializes not only in Southwest tickets but also offers some very nice packaged deals.

Expedia You can’t leave off Expedia. They offer tons of info on published fares and packaged deals. They’re a big company, and the site is pretty polished and easy to use, so booking through them is pretty painless. I always visit Expedia for their hotel search. It offers great resources like hotel photos, maps and user feedback. When I’m shopping around Expedia is always helpful to visit. Offers: Expedia Last-minute flight deals – Ongoing.
